ari unless i've missed something -you've gone awol. How are you?

Also I know scooter has been waiting to get back ttc again -hopefully not much longer to wait. and how are you comedy ?

Hopefully all good with all of you Smile.

PQ77 · 18/02/2012 11:44

Hi all, thanks for updating the list pebbles. Glad you seem to have wifi on hols kittens - and a jacuzzi!

Well guess what - I cracked this morning and did a test and got a bfp (thanks digi for the lucky hand me down). I was worried I'd managed to mess it up and misread it so i went out and got a first response and that's just come up positive too. 11 dpo (if you count ovulation as day one - 10 days if not) and quite a strong line for those who like that kind of detail.

Dh is quite an expert on these things now and also pronounced it a good line for this early on so I am off to change into my fat jeans and try not to think about things too much. Booked in for intrLipids on Monday at epsom if anyone is also in the clinic.

Have a lovely time at your meet up ladies Smile

Stogan · 18/02/2012 11:58

I'm WRECKED !!! Never known tiredness like it, all I seem to do is bath, shower and sleep come on baby time to show ur face !!!

Hi and happy weekend waves to all xxGrin

Pebbles73 · 18/02/2012 12:09

PQ that's fab news and I wish you all the best. Grin

freelancegirl · 18/02/2012 12:13

Oh my flippin' goodness PQ! You got a BFP!!! Agggghhhh!!! What is the appropriate thing to say here - congratulations?! Congratulations on the first step. On treatment you have a bloody great chance that this is going to work out. I know it is early days and anything can happen and tbh I don't envy you the next few very looooong and sloooow weeks. But hey, you have a BFP and that is brilliant!! I will stop using exclamation marks now...(!!!). I can believe we didn't actually get round to the 'when are you going to test' bit in our conversation when we met up yesterday (PQ and I had a two-person local thread gathering before I came down to Brighton).

I am in Epsom Hospital at 10.30am on Monday but our paths probably won't cross as I am going straight to Horsham for a meeting afterwards. Will give you a shout re coffee and stuff pick up this week though. Oh, I've just thought, you might be needing those things too! All going well for both of us you will only be 18 weeks behind me. I realise I am getting ahead of myself here. But....PUPO :)

Now, where was I before I got distracted by news of BFPs...?

Ari yes - where is she? hope you're ok. Did you have a holiday planned - can't remember. We haven't heard from Scooter, Comedy or Charlie for a bit either. How about Brownie too?!

Kittens I do hope you have a fabulous holiday. You really deserve one.

Hi Digi sorry you are so busy. How is the SPD behaving?

Duggs so sorry about the BFN. When you say you will be starting IVF next time, when will that be? Lets be positive that the combination of IVF and the steroids to combat the killer cells will be the winning combination.

Re knackered I remember from school days people saying it meant tired after too much sex but I use it all the time now. Definitely not swinging from the rafters but I did 'resume relations' after a 5 week or so drought after spotting at 7 weeks after, well, relations. I figured after the 12 week scan I needed to stop being a scaredy cat and get back in the saddle as it were. Cautiously it has to be said.

Talking of naughty words, does anyone else remember when they first become aware that the word 'come' had other connotations? Pebbles might remember this with me at school as we all started giggling when you had to say to someone 'Come over here' or "Are you going to come?'. How we all laughed...

Talking of Pebbles, I know you've been trying for ages and I worry about my age too, we all do, but when you write it down 38 doesn't seem nearly so bad when you think about it. I have a feeling that - armed with everything you now know - it won't be long until we are celebrating your BFP on here.

Right, lots more to say am sure but I have to vacate the flat as people are coming round to view it. Might go look at some maternity clothes that I don't have the money for.

Hope everyone is ok xx

lisacn · 18/02/2012 12:41

PQ Congrats that is great news :)

suemays · 18/02/2012 12:50

PQ well done!!! Now begins the worrying! At least you are a closer step forward and can start the treatment programme. It's great that the line is strong too.

Duggs sorry to hear about the AF - we can chat about it tomorrow but I am guessing you are feeling very down at the moment. What did Dr S say if the IUI didn't work this time? Where are you going for IVF?

Free and Choccy I am now on the Hydroxchloroquine as Dr S has suggested taking me off the steroids and substituting it for that instead. I have to build up 6 weeks of it first and then come off the steroids to see if it helps my cycles reregulate. Where do you get yours from? Trying to work out the cheapest way to get them on top of all the other costs! Did you know the cheapie shops like New Look and Matalan do a range of maternity clothes? You can order them online if you can't get to one of the shops. The quality is not great but you are not in them for long.

Snoopy the letro made me feel tired too but once you finish the course you feel better. I hope you can make tomorrow - just sent you a message about it!

hopefulfor2nd · 18/02/2012 12:50

Yeah pq! Great first step! What lovely news x x x

ChoccyPud · 18/02/2012 12:58

Yay PQ!! Well done you! And a nice strong line too. It's just the first step but I see you've already organised intralipids for Monday. No hanging around eh?! Ah, it's fab news, I've gone all fuzzy Grin. I've got a couple of days holiday Mon and Tue or I'd have sorted work out to meet up when you're in Epsom.

Back in the saddle eh free?! Well done to you too. I've always thought how ironic it is that we swi like mad then come(!) to a sudden stop upon BFP because of the Fear.

I'm feeling bang up for starting ttc again, more so than previously even. I feel bizarrely human on the Hydroxy, no bad side effects. Whether its just time passing after the last mc, getting a bit fitter again, or the acupuncture, who knows. Don't care really, the main thing is feeling positive. Ask me again in the 2ww when I'm weighed down by Pred again though....

Talking about Hydroxy, I think I saw from the SO thread that Sue is on Hydroxy now too, and that Dr S is going to take her off the Pred after 6 weeks on it. Did I get that right Sue?

Also, free are you still on the Hydroxy or has he taken you off it now?

Bit worried about those MIA, Hope all is ok.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

ChoccyPud · 18/02/2012 13:04

Ooh Sue crossed posts, telepathy?! Interesting that he's thinking of taking you off Pred. He said to me that he thinks ultimately it'll be Hydroxy not Pred that he uses for NK ladies. I said I wasn't sure I was ready to go straight to just Hydroxy, and my cycles are ok on Pred, at least up to the last mc.

Did he say how long you'd stay on it after BFP?

I got mine from my local Lloyds chemist. 56 days for £7.22 or so, less than nhs prescription fee! Though of course you'll pay more if you're getting more than 56 days.

Will be v interested to know how you feel on it.

freelancegirl · 18/02/2012 13:09

Am on the mobile now so prob less coherent, but choccy and sue yes am still on hydroxy. Fortunately my gp converts my prescriptions for me so they are Nhs ones. Have you tried asking yours to do that? Mr s initially said to be on it until 16 weeks I think but when I got to around 14 he said he was still unsure as to when he wanted me to stop so to carry on.

It's definitely not a bad drug, as you have flubs choccy. Have you lost weight on it? It def helped me lose a few Pred pounds before I started the Pred again.

Am v familiar with cheap high street stores (unfortunately!) so often check H&M, New Look etc maternity. Am hoping for milder weather soon as am much more set up for it. Might get a pair of mat jeans today though.

snoopygirl · 18/02/2012 13:11

Great news pq nice strong line too makes you feel better about things. thank god someone crept onto the BFP list this month. Needed some good news. x

I hope we will all get there at some point, just slowly creeping up the list....we all so deserve a break on here.

sue feel fine at moment,. does the Letrozole bloat you too? I have images of my womb blowing up like a space hooper in next few days desperatly trying to produce eggs! It's like a large beach ball at moment. Even stretch jeans are uncomfortable. could have something to do with getting dangerously overweight! Pot bellies run in my family and I'm sure someone is going to ask me when it's due shortly!

suemays · 18/02/2012 13:17

Choccy must be telepathy! Thanks for the Lloyds advice - its always hard to know if its cheaper on prescription so I will try and get it today. Dr S didnt say when I would be coming off pred or hydro but wants to get it in my system before he decides. Interesting that he thinks its the hydroxy that he will be using in the future.
I am a bit worried I am turning into a walking medicine cabinet now though! So when are you starting TTC?

Free I know what you mean about frequenting cheap shops - I never used to step foot in them but now have no choice! Unfortunately DR S and acupuncture have dictated that!

OP posts:
lisacn · 18/02/2012 13:21

ebay sell some nice mat clothes

ChoccyPud · 18/02/2012 14:10

Yeah I was really interested to know that too Sue. But having mc'd once on the Pred I think I'll stick with both for now, walking medicine cabinet or not!

AF is due around next Tues/Weds (it's been quite nice not keeping a really precise eye on things!), so back on it after that :)

Cheerfulcharlie · 18/02/2012 14:35

PQ - well done! How exciting a line! Enjoy the intralipids on Monday.

Kittens - hope you are enjoying Istanbul. That is where I was when I conceived this time. Maybe it is a lucky fertile city?

free - H&M maternity jeans are fantastic. I am usually a bit of a jeans snob but could not bear to spend £200 on a pair that would probably be too hot to wear over here by April /May so I picked up on a tip to get the H&M jeans which cost about £35 and they are so fabulous i got a couple of pairs and wear them all the time.

All is ok with me so far. Not really much to report. Next scan is the big 20 weeker on 6th March.

I'm getting really excited for Stogan to be the first pred thread mummy.

duggs1976 · 18/02/2012 16:50

Ahh FQ fertile queen I knew you'd be having some good news. Very pleased for u and doubly sure my route is the route for me. Good luck chick. Grin

digitalgirl · 18/02/2012 17:16

Fantastic news PQ!! Fat jeans and distraction sounds like a good plan. Smile

Not had much luck with maternity jeans this time. I bought some jeggings from jojo maman and they keep falling down. Hasn't stopped me wearing them as they look good with my boots, but they're annoying to keep hitching up. The over bump leggings I bought from jjmm have been so comfy though (and don't fall down). Living in mainly maternity tops from gap - they're nice and long so can be with leggings.

SPD quite bad now - turning over in bed takes a huge amount of effort to try and minimise the pain. Proper sex went out the window a few weeks ago, so we're back to teenage fumblings!

Still trying to get nesting stuff done though, have cleared out almost a whole chest of drawers for the baby. Getting quite crampy a lot of the time, bit worried this baby is going to come earlier than even ds was. Still got 4 weeks of work and haven't even got a proper names list! Let alone got the clothes washed. Living room floor being finished today so hopefully we can get on with the laundry this week.

I will do the honours...have added two days to everyone with a BFP and changed a few other bits. Duggs have put you as waiting to TTC until we know more, PQ have added you to the BFPs. I know how scary that is so sorry to freak you out, but hopefully you feel ok with it as we are all know the uncertainty here and can empathise. Have moved coley to the second trimester. Where are you coley? We haven't heard from Cherry for a while too, and Scooter. Not sure where Buster should be on the list...?

Please make changes if you need and (if you do this any day that's not today) change the date and add the appropriate number of days to the BFP gang.

BFPs are growing everyone! I hope that the TTC gang can take comfort from that and that the list continues to grow xx

Sue I took the Hydroxy in the morning along with the Pred and it is every day from now until he says otherwise! I think he has said to others to have a few weeks on it before starting to TTC but for me I was only on it for about 2 weeks before I ovulated on the cycle I got pregnant this time.

charlie hello! I didn't get the jeans today but will def be investing in some H&M jeans. Is it cool enough for jeans where you are? I thought it would all be floaty dresses and sandals.

Coconutfeet · 18/02/2012 21:25

Hello all, Just trying to catch up as I?ve been at my parents for a few days with no mobile phone signal and painfully slow internet access. Lovely to get away though, and I had lots of help with ds so was able to take it a bit easier than normal.

Yipppeeee to PQ! Great to hear it was such a strong line.

Sorry to hear about chemical Snoopy and bfn Duggs. Incredibly frustrating and sad for both of you.

Mercator - great scan news. Another big milestone!

Good to hear you sounding so positive Choccy.

Digi - Hope this lo doesn?t arrive too early for you. How early was your ds?

Any developments Pico? FWIW they didn?t routinely give me antibiotics with my ERPC but said they would if I developed an infection.

Welcome home Free. Good to hear you feel relaxed but sorry you feel otherwise pretty shite. I think there is something in the relentlessness of all those first trimesters that just wears you out, and you were pretty much pregnant for most of last year, weren?t you? I seem to remember in my pregnancy with ds that I had a real energy burst between about 20 weeks and 30, when I hit a bit of wall. This time round I don?t feel like I?ve had as much energy but I think a lot of that is having a young child. He?s had a hideous cough recently which has kept him and me awake rather a lot recently. Last night was the first night he slept well for ages but I had to keep jumping out of bed with horrible leg cramps (got them in my first pg as well) so it wasn?t exactly restful! Not that I?m complaining ? I know how lucky I am to be in this position.

mercator · 18/02/2012 21:42

PQ whispering Congratulations! Fantastic news on your BFP!

PQ77 · 19/02/2012 08:16

Thanks so much for all the good wishes everyone. I have such a poor record (1ds out of 7 pregnancies) that I wasn't even sure that I wanted to mention it for a bit as I have such rotten luck and I didn't want to discourage everyone when things go wrong again. But then I thought it might be encouraging to some that I did get pregnant while on the pred- so there you go!

DH was so excited that he could drink to excess again he went to the football, got wasted, then met me at the old vic and he fell asleep in the middle of the play (a very loud comedy). I swear he was snoring. After falling asleep at the cinema last week we've decided to give cultural outings a miss for a while in favour of just getting some sleep.

Speaking of sleep, sounds like you are having a hard time digi and coconut - what a pain.

Hope you continue to feel on an up choccy Smile

Also wondering about scooters follow up appt?

And I mentioned the meet up in my post yesterday as I was convinced that it was Sunday as I had drummed it into myself that I could only test on Sunday. So now that it is Sunday, big hello to the Amersham ladies. duggs dh now knows you by name and v keen to hear what happens next in your ivf journey Smile
