A quick hello from me! Back in the hotel lobby trying to finish this article.

Couple of questions I can help with ? Euro ? on implantation both times I have been TTC with awareness (ie these last two pregnancies) I think I have felt implantation like a powerful but tiny buzz, almost like a like drilling sensation. Both times it has been so noticeable it stopped me in my tracks. Not sure whether it has been like that for anyone else as I guess we are all different. Like Digi I have also then had early morning cramping, kind of like period cramps, both times I have been aware of getting pregnant. Digi has actually correctly predicted what these were both times :)

Ovulation pains ? for Pebbles ? have felt like ?twinges? in the ovaries to me. I have only ever felt them from the left side and I know plenty of people don?t get them. Almost like a tiny stitch pain in the ovary area and it comes and goes. I also get other things around ovulation I find, like constipation (nice) and that poker-up-the-arse trapped wind pain. Oh and ECWM but for me that is less reliable. I guess like Snoopy described the pain could also be a bit ?pingy?.

Battery I have also been getting those stretchy pains. Excited you found the heartbeat with the Doppler! I have to say I have been using mine quite a bit over here. Just as I am away and it feels reassuring. Also I am finding that some days my bump seems to have a growth spurt and then other days it goes smaller again. I know this is normal at around 16 weeks and up to 20 when you hopefully start to feel movement and look more pregnant. The first trimester is frustrating but also the period after the 12 week scan and before the 20 week one seems to be a strange one too. Back into a different kind of limbo.

Coley, glad to here all is going well and hoping you start to feel better soon. I have to say, I am still feeling nauseous on and off but it is going.

Olives I hope the others have answered your questions but yes I would say have at least two appointments with him, one to discuss your history and have the test, two to get results and (if you do have a high count) discuss treatment. And Sue has a good point about intralipids. I don?t think any of us on here are loaded (well, I am certainly not!) but it has been something very much worth getting the money together for.

Thanks for doing the list again DIgi and Snoopy. Can you believe there are now over 30 of us on the list?! Still not sure when my next scan is but I have a booking in appointment at Epsom on Monday 20th when will be (pregnancy willing) just around 18 weeks. So I guess all going well I should soon be also talking about a 20 week scan. Aggh!

I am due to stop Cyclogest at 16 weeks which is actually tomorrow. I know this doesn?t make a blind bit of difference but I am in a dilemma as to whether to stop after tonight?s one or insert another one tomorrow as the last one. I am soooo very sick of the smell of it but want to make sure I am going it properly. Did everyone else who was on it just stop??

digitalgirl · 06/02/2012 13:42

free I just stopped the cyclogest - no weaning or anything. How exciting that you're nearly there with ending the meds. Just the aspirin and hydroxy to go!
(tmi warning - might have been a coincidence but I had to get some pile cream after stopping the cyclogest Blush, not particularly pleasant but not anything I hadn't dealt with before).

battery glad you're having a duvet day today and that Doppler is working out for you.

coley pleased to hear all is well, good luck this Wednesday.

In fact good luck to pico and hopeful this Wednesday too!

Cheerfulcharlie · 06/02/2012 14:57

euro I do also feel implantation quite strongly but only lasts a day, max 2 days if that. It does really feel like a tiny drill or dragging and is more central or vv slightly off centre. Not painful but noticeable and I've never felt it any other time. Later I could feel twinges to one side (although I never feel ovulation). My doc said this was the corpus luteum I could feel. Again not painful but a totally different sensation.

free I am also using Doppler a lot. I promised myself one a week but can't help doing it every other day, it's just so lovely to have the reassurance and I suppose in a few weeks we might be feeling movement and not feel the need for the Doppler so much. Are you feeling any bubbles yet? I'm pretty sure I haven't.

I was also thinking the 12-20 week stage is a bit in limbo too, just like you are in the first trimester but then I started thinking I will probably feel the same between 20wks and 24 weeks (viability) and beyond that I'm sure there will be something else to think about.

I have doc's appt with scan tomorrow. Hopefully baby will show its bits so we can get the sex confirmed. Let's hope it's a girl otherwise I will have to give away that baby gap babygrow thing with a little kitten on the front I bought at the weekend or else have a cross dressing baby (cross dressing illegal over here!!!)

colely pico and hopeful good luck for scans this week.

duggs good luck with testing after your IUI.

lisacn · 06/02/2012 15:21

Hi my name is Lisa and I'm new to mumsnet, I've had 2 miscarriages in 6 months, I've seen Dr Shehata and have been diagnosed with elevated NK cells. I started on prednisolone in December. I've found my cycles are all over the place and I found the first month on the steroids tough. I'm seeing Shehata next week to see what help he can offer me. I'm hoping this will be my year :-)

Stogan · 06/02/2012 15:25

Hi Lisa and welcome to our world. So sorry u find urself here but u are in good hands with mr s and us lol ! Grin

eurochick · 06/02/2012 15:26

Hi Lisa. Welcome to the thread. I started the Pred in December too. I haven't had miscarriages but just can't get pregnant despite all my fertility tests coming back ok. I am also not keen on the side effects but figure it will be worth it if it works!

snoopygirl · 06/02/2012 15:53

Hello Lisa!!

great to see you here - I told you they were friendly! It's a real mind of information on here with some very experienced ladies. The way I see it I would never have been so informed without this board and really feel genned up when I go to see Dr S so that helps alot. Also wouldn't have known about sup ov if it weren't for some ladies having it on here. so it's helped massively and hope it helps you too. Big huggs x

batteryhen · 06/02/2012 17:03

A quick me post.

Have had my results from the nuchal scan and bloods. It's come back at 1:140. For my age it would have been 1:110. But anything higher than 1:150 is considered high risk. We don't want a cvs or amnio particularly so I am thinking of going for a second opinion at the FMC. Has anyone got any experience that might help me out? xx

GreenOlives · 06/02/2012 17:57

Ladies, thanks so much for all the information it's been very helpful to know what to expect. Part of me wants to have high NK cells because it's treatable and would explain my losses but the other part of me is nervous about treatment! At least I'll know either way after the tests!

Euro You'll certainly notice if I'm in the waiting room with you - we are combining the trip to London with a Natural History/Science Museum visit for DS so I'll be the one with the very noisy 3 year old!

freelancegirl · 06/02/2012 18:15

Hi all, just returning to the hotel lobby to check on emails.

Battery try not to worry as that is still a very low risk if you think about it. I know it mut be stressful. I haven?t had a proper 12 week scan (well, not with a live baby) at a hospital but I can say that FMC where excellent; very, very thorough and checked all the soft markers (as I think they call them) very intensely. They also check for other things I didn?t even know existed ? something again they are working on there in terms of new research. I would definitely book an appointment with them now as I am sure they will be able to give you more of an answer. Let us know how it goes. Will be thinking of you.

Welcome to the thread Lisa! Without giving too much away about myself ? great name Grin I am so glad you have found Mr S and also us lot here as we are (if I may say so myself) a very supportive bunch and it is so fantastic to be able to talk to other people who are going through the same thing. I can?t help you with the cycles as mine were ok, but I know a lot of people on here can probably help you as they have had a similar thing.

Glad to be of support too to Olives. Let us know how it goes with the testing! I think we all felt like that to a certain extent ? worried about the results, but also relieved to have something that could hopefully be addressed.

Right, am going back to the pool.

lisacn · 06/02/2012 18:26

thanks for all your welcomes, it helps to chat to women who totally understand where I'm coming from. I'm hoping I can get some info when I see Shehata's team next Monday, hoping he'll say yes to super ovulation too

Pebbles73 · 06/02/2012 18:34

Hello to olives and Lisa and welcome. As Free said great name Lisa!! :). Must be a real pain having your cycle go haywire, I am due to start on pried next month. Olives I hope you get some answers soon and all the ladies on here are very helpful. :)

Thanks for the replies on ovulation pains, I didn't feel implantation either last time. I guess we are all different.

Big hello to Free and look forward to catching up soon although not arranged anything with Katie yet.

Good luck to everyone having scans this week.

duggs1976 · 06/02/2012 18:58

battery I presume those were NHS results? If so I recommend u call up the London fertility centre (or a similar) as a friend of mine had similar results and ended up paying £150 for another such scan with more in-depth advanced info and her stats came down considerably with this. Sorry I can't be more specific but is worth a phone call Smile

lisacn · 06/02/2012 19:04

i'm not sure if the steroids or something else, I have had pains around my ovaries since early December, sometimes they are really bad and the pain radiates around to my kidneys. GP says they could be cysts but i'm hoping for a scan just to check. Had a bit of nausea too. The messed up cycles is frustrating to say the least, but onwards and upwards :-)

duggs1976 · 06/02/2012 19:07

Oh just read frees post- yes that sounds good advice - basically a private scan is more advanced if you are worried as they take into account further details Smile

batteryhen · 06/02/2012 20:56

Thanks free and duggs. I will do that - the FMC can see me on thursday / friday so I will go along. I know they do more detailed scans etc so might bring my risk down. I know it's not a high risk really - but I want to enjoy this pregnancy and if that takes a bit of worry away then so be it ! XX

Coconutfeet · 06/02/2012 21:18

Welcome to Lisa and Greenolives.

Sorry I've not been about lately. Work has been crazy and we were away at the weekend in very snowy Kent, which was beautiful.

In other news, we have found a house and had an offer accepted! We got it for quite a good price so I'm feeling really nervous that they'll change their minds and we'll have wasted loads of money on solicitor, surveys etc.

Hope everyone else is OK. I'm going to read back and catch up with everyone's news now.

Oh and thanks Digi for moving me up to the third trimester. Can't quite believe I'm there...

digitalgirl · 06/02/2012 22:20

battery i think getting the second opinion at fmc is a very good plan. Sorry you're having to go through this - hopefully the team at fmc will be able to lower the risk. At my nhs we're told anything higher than 1:100 is worth investigating. Because the risks of mc-ing from any procedure outweighs the risk of down's.

Lisa welcome to the thread - mr s probably will recommend superov. Have you suffered from irregular cycles before the pred?

coconut welcome to the third and final trimester! And fantastic news on the offer acceptance. Fingers crossed for a smooth purchase.

Renovations slowly getting there. Looking forward to a dust-free house at the end of the month. Which will help the fact that we've had to cancel the cleaner Sad. Not ideal timing but there you go. Nerves ever so slightly on edge now that I'm 30 weeks. Hoping to get baby clothes down from loft soon, start washing and filling up drawers (which I still need to empty). Have ordered hospital bag consumables (nappies, breast pads etc) which seems like a huge step forward. Will pack hospital bag in a couple of weeks. Eek! stogan are you ready?

picolina123 · 07/02/2012 07:18

lisa welcome , my friend had her cycle all over the place and she used the ovulation monitor, the one you do from day 6, that way it took the guessing out of it on what day to test, also use your fluid and temperature with the machine , with the 3 together it may help, i got mine on amazon, much cheaper than boots unless its on sale there.

free Cyclogest !! i cant wait to stop using it, i dont notice the smell but i just hate using them, and there is no reason for it , once its in i dont even think about it but i was thinking last night im only half way with it , grumble , grumble !

had a bad day yesterday, didnt sleep well sun night and was shattered at work, prob coz my scan is getting closer, BUT im being weaned off the seriods sooonnnnn yeahhhhhh, lets hope its for the right reasons .

does anyone else do that, i cant be just positive , i have to say or think, if everything is ok, if this , if that. no plans go through my head with out the IF added in there.

battery how stressful, im worried about that stage as well, good to know about the extra tests, IF everything is ok with the scan tomm : ) the quicker you get the new improved results the quicker you can relax.

goodluck everyone scanning tomm!

picolina123 · 07/02/2012 07:21

forgot to say, i never noticed any implantation pain, just vv slight spotting, didnt know what it was, marked it on my calender and then when i realised i was preg the penny dropped.

Stogan · 07/02/2012 08:06

Hey all
digi I am MORE than ready now infact getting fed up Sad my child likes to climb my ribs through night which was quite funny at first but now it just totally winds me (MW confirmed yesterday is not exactly a tiny baby.... GULP !!) also so restless thru the day I spent yesterday afternoon on our living room floor as was the only place I could get comfy !
Still, I'm sooooo excited (and impatient) now its killing me everyday is like a week !!
I have another growth scan on Friday at which they are going to recheck my fluid levels as they have been on the high side for the last month and then final consultant appt a week on Friday and then it's a waiting game !! Hope baby doesn't come early, not getting isofix base fitted until 18th feb, suppose OH could collect us in my little car Smile

How u feeling digi? Getting organised I see.

Hi to everyone else and good luck for any scans/testing/swi this week remember ladies, this is our year, just look at that list it's fab and coconut welcome to 3rd tri YEY Grin xx

freelancegirl · 07/02/2012 13:41

Just having a sneaky scroll back to see what I have missed and realised I missed a chance to compare Doppler notes with Charlie. I too intended to just get it out once a week but am having a quick listen more or less every day or every other day at the moment. The days when I start to feel well I am particularly suspicious. My swollen tummy also goes up and down. Good luck for the scan today! Let us know how it goes. I have felt the occasionally bubble but I think it is more likely to be wind related than anything else.

PQ also missed your comments about the baby gear. Yes I guess ?It?s for a new friend...? excuse is being eyed suspiciously especially when you have to say ?Oh you don?t know her?? and then if they delve further the 'we met online' details is bound to confound matters even more!

Coconut, well done for the graduation to third trimester! Can?t believe in around a month?s time Stogan is going to have our first Pred Thread baby! Am excited you found a nice house. I am going to have to do the same too - start looking nearish to where PQ lives - but we have to sell DH's flat first and that seems to not be exactly snapping off the market.

Pico I know what you mean about the Cyclogest, I can?t believe I have been counting off the days and here it is ? 16 weeks today and time to stop! I asked DH whether last night should be my last or tonight at 16 weeks and one night, but he told me to stop over thinking these things and just stop Grin So that?s it, no more cyclogest. Hurrah! Am going to wash all my knickers again in celebration ? believe me hand washing in a hotel sink is not really powerful enough for the somewhat nuclear fall out of the damn stuff (TMI alert!). I have to scrub for days to get that chemical smell out of them! It's just me that's so adverse to the smell isn't it? Ugh it really makes me want to vomit.

For the others on Hydroxy, I have really found my appetite has reduced greatly at the moment and I am not sure whether it is because I have started the Pred, because of the Hydroxy or because of general pregnancy...? Anyone else have any idea? I mean, I am eating plenty (enough to keep fattening me up still) but there is plenty I can?t face too. Also I need to eat in relatively small portions. I am eating things I really like, like a lot of salad and some pasta but off things like fish and a lot of cooked food.

16 weeks today!!! Amazing stuff. Must get back to work or I will never be able to hit the beach.

Hope everyone is ok today and Battery good luck with the scan this week. It cost £180 at FMU I think but well worth it. They will do you a DVD too.
