PopcornMouse · 24/01/2012 14:14

Oh gawd stasi I hate UTIs, they're agonising - it was totally an emergency in my book :o
Hope it clears up soon xx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/01/2012 15:26

Oh Stasi you poor thing. UTIs are so nasty, and I agree with Pop, they are an emergence, as they can lead to very nasty kidney infections

I have just gotten back from viewing our allotment! I am now the proud owner of one! DH didn't want me to go out, and I now feel awful and so so cold, but I have a hot chocolate on the bubble, and we are going to plan what we are going to plant! [sad middle-aged-before-my-time emoticon]

whimsicalname · 24/01/2012 15:33

congrats maybe now you will definitely have an ironic bfp and be too fat to tend your allotment.

Feet up stasi, perhaps with some hot cranberry tea type stuff.

PopcornMouse · 24/01/2012 15:45

Oooo maybe that's exciting! I am not very green-fingered, sadly, and the chickens tend to dig up anything I plant Hmm What are you going to plant?

beangrower · 24/01/2012 17:14

Take it easy Stasi sounds nasty.

Ooh Maybe allotments are v romantic and sheeshy. Actually we fell pg a couple of months into starting on our allotment so there's the scientific evidence for you. Tell all about your plans. Great larks.

Chickens pop! You are so kewl.

Knackered after all this drama. Need to out it away now. Have a couple of interesting work projects coming up thank goodness.

TTFN.

farfallarocks · 24/01/2012 17:18

stasi that sounds awful!! Clots! You poor thing!! Hope you are feeling a lot better.

bartlett hello again, I am so very sorry for what happened to you and we are all here for you when you decide to try again.

bean what an awful GP and what mixed messages, gah! Can you book a joint appointment and go through the results and get the actual ranges so you can decide what to do together? I think it must be a very very difficult message for men to receive as they are a bit funny about their swimmers arenlt they? Like its tied to their manliness or summat. Its great news that your DH has agreed to cut down on alchohol at home though and a step in the right direction!

beedle thanks for your message and its good to know your DH has come round! I am thinking a more machiavellian approach might be the way forward from now on and if it takes a bit longer, so be it. This sort of stress can't be good for either of us I am sure.

hello whim , so glad the kids have taken it in their stride.

Hello to everyone else, especially generic who I hope is starting to feel human again?

munx how are you getting on my lovely? Managing to keep the menkulling manageable?

TheLittleFriend · 24/01/2012 20:10

Hi everyone

Though we're not officially ttc again yet, I am still lurking to keep in the loop with you lot.

It's been 1 wk today since the mc and I'm feeling pretty ok. Physically much better, just a bit knackered. Emotionally, well, i've been ok for the last few days, but I know there will be ups and downs.

Sorry to read that some of you are having such a rough time. Before having my dd I really thought it was as simple as deciding to ttc then waiting for it to happen. Then once you got pregnant, it was all just happy waiting for a baby. What did I know!

bartlett It's lovely to hear from you again too. I hope we'll both be back on the antenatal thread again soon x

SweetieDoesIt · 24/01/2012 20:27

Bean wowzer alcohol reduces TTC chances by 50%Shock ? I really need to have a serious word with DH. I hope you write a strongly worded complaint to your GP surgery, it is very poor to mix up patients and give out incorrect results especially something so important. Brooking no argument.

Poor Pop hope you are ok and DH doesn?t share his germs with you, that is last thing you need.

Maybe what is infamous triphasic chart thingamabob? loving the sound of an allotment too ? sounds like ironic BFP coming your way. You poor love still being under the weather {big hugs} enjoy your hot chocolate and marsh mellows

Waves to Bartlett so sorry to hear about your experience, hope things are on the up in 2012 Thanks same goes for you Little Thanks

Poor Stasi you are going through the mill and I would definitely call UTI an emergency. Hope you are feeling better now the antibiotics kick in.

I think I may have under estimated the temping as they all look a bit closer together (all 97.2Xs) apart from the random Saturday one ? I will put that down to Friday evening beers.

Today I have been having left side stabbing pains, I think I could be gearing up for OV (CD10 now usually OV CD12-14) do you call them MetterSchmittelzBurgers can you tell I haven?t made much progress with Zita West?? or something??? Grin But I haven't had a +ve OPK yet, expect it tomorrow. Have purchased some Smile OPK as the sticks don't get a very strong line for me, even the test line is very faint. These are the sensitive strtength too, think it is due to my age and assume I must have a low LH surge. Hmm

GreenOlives · 24/01/2012 21:40

Evening ladies.

Hello Bartlet lovely to meet you. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I look forward to getting to know you when you feel ready to start TTC again. Nice to see you too Little, glad you are doing ok at the moment - just take it easy it's early days still.

Youch for UTI Stasi, they're nasty, hope antibiotics kick in very quickly.

Boo to you still feeling poorly too maybe but yay for allotment Smile I have chickens like Pop so no chance of growing much in our garden without the girls eating it all! They ruin the grass too, much to DHs annoyance! Last year he built them a huge coop so they didn't have to be free ranging round the garden every day making a mess. They do lay lovely eggs though Grin What are you planning on growing?

Pop hope you have escaped the lurgy!

Bean Shock at crap GP. Hope Monday's appt is helpful and that work projects keep you occupied.

Sweetie I suffer with Mittelschmerz (sp?) too, it's usually worse than my period pains. It is a useful indicator for the old SWI though. I usually find I get a Smile on the OPK on my 3rd day of pains Hope you have success with the Smile ones, I couldn't get on with the internet cheapies, I never knew what was a true positive either.

Waves to everyone else, hope you are all ok.

In my news its CD1 here and I am predictably miserable Sad However I have decided to be pro-active and have emailed the Miscarriage Clinic on Harley Street to sort out testing for NK cells. They have quoted around £650 for consultation and test Shock seems a lot for one blood test but there you are - I am desperate for answers! So I am just waiting for them to ring me back with an appointment, I do at least feel that this might move things forward a bit. Also have my NHS appt next Friday and consultant did mention he might book a second HSG for me to try and give me another "blow out" of my remaining tube! We'll see.

TTFN.

GreenOlives · 24/01/2012 21:42

P.S Watching 15 Kids & Counting - WTF! Some people are too fertile! Angry

beangrower · 25/01/2012 08:22

HI Green - good luck with the consultation. So annoying that it's so pricey but this may really help you turn a corner.

Sweetie - I have read in several places that alcohol can affect TTC chances by up to 50%. But then the husband of my friend who has 4 children drinks like a fish - claims he never has hangovers so his body may be v good at detoxing. I also met a mum of 2 los this week who had 3 miscarriages before she gave up alcohol entirely. She really wasn't expecting ds2 - he was a quick surprise after ds1 and healthy lifestyle. She's 40 too. Big ask though - and I know feel a bit insecure in my relationship after some of the ruction it's caused. But DP looks better already; he looked so tired before.

Stasi - any better? And Maybe?

TTFN. I am off for the postponed interview.

beangrower · 25/01/2012 08:23

Green - commiseration btw re' cd1. And yes 15 children is just wrong.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 25/01/2012 08:46

Morning all. Green so sorry it's CD1. If the blood test/consultation will help you along in any way, then I am sure it is worth it. Fingers crossed for that second HSG too (not that you will need it Wink )

Bean I hope the insecurity passes soon, I am sure that your DP will thank you for all of this in the long run. I think another thing is with the males of the species, is that they can never admit that you were right Grin Good luck fr that interview

Sweetie hurrah for the german burgers. I sometimes get some stabby pains too. My temperature is doing funny things. My BBT the last few days that I have been ill has been lower than ususal, and then when I get up, my temp rockets. Illness is strange.

Little my lovely, so nice to see you. Take all the time you need, and when you are strong enough, we will all be brooking for a superglue-strength bean Smile

Stasi I hope you are feeling much better this morning.

I fear I may have a touch of flu. I ache from head to toe Sad I can't even think about work.

I am excited about the allotment. I can't get over how big it is! We haven't properly decided what we are going to grown, but I know I want carrots, broad beans, peas, tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, chillies, herbs, squash, salad leaves. The list goes on and on!! Also we are allowed to have a chicken coop on it too. I want some. If DH is getting a shed, I want chickens. This is fair, no? Grin

farfallarocks · 25/01/2012 09:14

Still reeling at the booze reducing your chances by 50% gah!!!!
When I spoke to the consultant about it, he said defo don;t give up, it has more benefits than negatives in terms or relaxation etc but then consultants are probably a little more laissez faire about these things than say an acupuncturist etc
I think cutting down might be our strategy!

maybe you poor lamb, there is something nasty going around at the moment!
You are well within your rights to get chickens!!

bean don;t feel insecure, I know what you mean though, I have felt a bit like that recently and like I can't be as open as I want to be with DH about things. This too shall pass and its just a small blip in a long journey together.

olives so sorry about CD1. I have heard great things about that clinic and there is a whole thread on here about it with some very encouraging stats if that ends up being the issue.

Big squeeze to little, you sound very strong

sweetie I could never get a decent line on those cheapie OPKs, the :) are definitely the way forward!

DH have been talking more over the past few days, he has reaffirmed his desire for sprogs which is reassuring, keeps saying don;t worry it will happen. I did manage to even crack a joke this morning about him just blardy well getting on with it then without it turning into a row so perhaps we are getting there, slowly. He is so miserable in his job and I wonder if its colouring everything.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. I have worked out that ovulation nexyt month is likel to fall over the weekend BUT we will be at his grandma's house. Gah! Hopefully that will inspire naughty sneakings off rather than complete abstinence, we can but hope rat smacketeers.

OP posts:
SweetieDoesIt · 25/01/2012 09:28

Olives sorry to hear about CD1, suppose it will be CD2 now. Those tests are expensive but it is the reassurance it can give you. And fx for the second HSG for the flush through. It is all sounding positive.

Bean good luck with the postponed interview

Maybe all the goodies to be grown on the allotment sound lovely, all that digging will get you very fit and a very healthy diet to boot. I would say chickens are a good trade off for a shed.

Far it is so positive that communication channels remain open for you, and it may be outside factors which are adding to your DH pressure.

Thanks all for the tips on the OPKs, I thought it was just me and my weak hormones not getting on with the sticks, bring on the Smile

farfallarocks · 25/01/2012 09:39

sweetie I love getting those :)

Its like the little grin is saying, go onm get on with it then, get your leg over

OP posts:
SweetieDoesIt · 25/01/2012 09:51

I was quite excited Far when i got a faint dual line on the OPK stick as I have never had a positive line on a stick before. Blush if only it had been the other sort of stick

PopcornMouse · 25/01/2012 09:55

Hi little I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little bit better. Thanks

Alcohol reduces your chances by 50% Bean Shock I am glad DH has decided to abstain as well as yours ? we just need to think of stuff to do in the evening that doesn't involve the pub Hmm Will it take 3 months to make a difference, do you think?
Good luck at t'interview :)

Sorry to hear you're on CD1 olives :( I think the NK testing sounds very proactive though, and we all know that HSGs are magic :o

maybe yay for chickens! Is your allotment fenced off from the general public? I have heard chickens can ?go missing? ?....

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for your naughty weekend, far !

I seem to have escaped DH's lurgy. But my temps are still abnormally high, and so FF has moved my ovulation day forward by 1 day which is not good news, SWI-wise Hmm But I am not expecting much of this cycle anyway and just need to remind myself that we've made some really positive life-changes this month and next month will be betterer.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 25/01/2012 10:24

I'm glad you all agree with the chickens! Pop it is fenced off, with lots of locks too, so fingers crossed it should be ok! I'm pleased you are not sick.

Far I'm so pleased you and DH are turning a corner. It always feels so much better when you can joke about things.

Sweetie I know what you mean about the two lines Grin

cakes82 · 25/01/2012 11:06

Hope your interview goes well bean. The allotment and chickens sounds really good.
Hi to everyone else.

At the risk of TMI I had a very odd pain in my left side on and off yesterday and then last night after SFF had pink blood later when I wiped. Spotting and period never starts with anything except brown and I don't get period pains until after i've started properly. This morning nothing. I think i'm about 12/13dpo today. Am I symptom spotting? Confused

NoMaybeAboutIt · 25/01/2012 11:14

Oooh, this sounds promising Cakes symptom spotting is always good Smile

cakes82 · 25/01/2012 11:19

I'm scared i'm being too hopeful and i'm going to come back to earth with a big bang I'm brooking no argument its real!

PopcornMouse · 25/01/2012 11:40

Ooo cakes when are you going to POAS? :o

I have no symptoms this month. At all. Got to be the first month ever so it must be a symptom, right?? :o

Stasi · 25/01/2012 11:46

Morning everyone. Thanks for the well wishing, I'm feeling much better today, been about 10 years since my last UTI, so I turned into a bit of a wimp. On another note though - I also got quite a bit of EWCM this morning, so might start SWI tonight. Not sure though - I'm CD14, usually ov CD16, and neg opk yesterday. So, given we're saving this batch to make it a good one, do you advise SWI tonight or tomorrow, or both? (I had to talk DH into even considering SWI tonight, I think he's is a bit worried he could catch the UTI, he can't right?)

I am very envious of those with chickens. Really hope I can bring DH round to getting some.

Maybe very jealous of your allotment. I'm on the waiting list for one, but it's about 3-5 year wait. I'd definitely get chickens, also love the plans for things to grow. I can recommend courgettes too, and there are some nice outdoor cucumbers you can grow. I even got a couple up here in Scotland. I hope you feel better soon though, take care of yourself and wrap up warm.

Little lovely to hear from you, but so sorry to hear about the mc. Much love and hugs sent your way.

Olives sorry for cd1, treat yourself to something nice as a consolation prize. The NK testing sounds like a positive step for you. It's horrible not knowing and just wondering, I hope you get some answers from it. I watched that 15 kids and counting the other day, made me angry tbh. If those women breastfed their kids rather than bottle feeding they'd not have nearly so many. If the Catholic church bans contraception, they should mandate breastfeeding! Well, strongly advise it anyway.

Far glad you've been having some good chats with DH. Is there any chance of him changing jobs? Being miserable in work is horrible, I know, I'm there too.

Popcorn you may have caught your DH's lurgy, but just be doing a better job of fighting it off. Hence higher temps but no symptoms. The positive life changes are an excellent achievement for the month, and one you can be proud of as it's within your control. A BFP is like a lottery win, it's as much luck as effort. I hope you hit the jackpot though!

Cakes fingers crossed! I always get my hopes up when things change in a cycle. I'm brooking super hard for you.

GenericDietCola · 25/01/2012 11:49

Pop how many dpo are you? No symptoms = a symptom. Fact. Glad you escaped the lurgy.

Cakes yes POAS!!

Maybe take it easy love and get planning that allotment - sounds very nice. We were going to have a vegetable patch in the garden, but now it is a patio!

Stasi UTIs are not fun at all - I've had several and my sympathies are with you. Take it easy.

Bean I am shocked at your GP practice's ineptitude and the stress it has caused you both. I'm glad you will get some answers with the other GP but I do hope you are going to complain about the way this has been handled. Glad your DP has cut out the booze - this has to be a good thing for all sorts of reasons and not just TTC but sorry you are having such a hard time. I agree that the end of the summer still gives you a very good shot at a BFP and I am brooking no argument that it will happen for you very soon.

Olives so sorry re AF and hope this cycle gives more luck.

Smegs how are you?

Farfalla sounds like your weekend away was a godsend and it's good that you two are talking again. I think the relaxed approach may well be the best way to go for now.

Beedle enjoy the snow!

Sweetie - v impressed by your babysitting skills! You are obviously a natural!

Bartlet welcome back and I'm glad to hear you are feeling a better and starting to think about TTC again. So sorry again to hear about your little girl.

Little glad you are on the mend too and thinking about joining us again. Take care of yourself.

Hope Munx is OK and maybe just lurking for now.

Just did another test and it was pathetically faint and in fact may have come up after the 5 min, so I may be bold and declare myself ready to smack the rat in earnest!
