Just wrote a blardy long message before getting the 'thread full' message so here we go.................

Morning all!
My boss foiled my work from home/smacketeer catch up plan on Friday by actually asking me to go out and do store audits for him... I mean, the inconsiderateness! I had to get dressed and everything! On a friday!

Sounds like there's been a mix of good and bad medical appts in the last week, no consistency...

Twins sounds good Grin and am loving all the snow talk, we had OH's kids all weekend, SD was up and dressed on Sunday earlier than Xmas day so she could build a snowman bless.

Also liking post-HsG BFP chat, I need to call hospital on CD1 to book in, expecting to be next Weds...
Really struggling with BlackBerry as back in office for 2 days so sorry no name checks or direct replies, happy Monday everyone! X

PopcornMouse · 06/02/2012 12:14

Omfg maybe I had one of those too! I'd forgotten all about them! :o

NoMaybeAboutIt · 06/02/2012 12:38

How could you forget Pop, what with those cunning stick on moustaches Grin

How dare your boss Scarlett! Sounds like a good weekend was had though Smile HSG=pregnancy. Fact.

Well done Whim, a very well deserved biscuit!

Stasi · 06/02/2012 13:09

Morning everyone. I've had a busy weekend writing code for an Android phone game. Surprised myself with how much I've enjoyed doing it, and feeling like I've made something. We've got no snow here at all! I thought Scotland was meant to get snow, instead yesterday was a sunny 7 degrees. Feel like we've missed out a bit, though Edinburgh is very good at keeping the busses running regardless, so we'd not have had any extra time off work.

I think I might be next to test, though I'm not sure on timings. My phone says AF to arrive tomorrow, as does FF - except if I change my ov date to when I think it was, which is 2 days later, and pushes off testing till Wed. My temp changes were .3 .2 .3 .3 .5 and it's taking the rise from .2 to .3 as ov. However, the +OPK was on the .2 day, so maybe I did ov then? I need a CBFM :) No symptoms to report at all, boobs are hardly sore at all. I have had dry skin on my hands for an unknown reason, but I think it's pushing it to call that a pg symptom!

Sweetie for me my temp drops right down to lower than the pre-ov temps the morning of AF arrival. Don't know how textbook that is though. I've occasionally had a smaller drop each day for 1 or 2 days before AF arriving. Not sure if that helps at all.

Maybe sorry you're finding the people at your work hard. Just stay focussed on your goal and you'll get through it all. The cakes, and socks, are wonderful!

Popcorn grats on 5 weeks! Is it good to have had no morning sickness? Does it mean you maybe won't get it at all? I think I read that somewhere, but no idea where!

Whims you do manage to make it sound like the end of the year is nigh! I'll have to start planning some holidays and things to help mine skip by. I hope you're not too stressed about moving, it'll all go smoothly I'm sure, you sound like such a calm, competent person.

Scarlett hope you get your HSG soon. Mine is booked for 16th Feb. Not long to go now! Really hopeful of a good result from it, and a nice follow up BFP (if I'm not updiffed already that is). Slightly worried at the possibility of a 'straight to ivf' result though. I'm sure it'll all be fine, we're Rat Smaketers after all!

beangrower · 06/02/2012 13:30

Ooo - Stasi's about to confirm too. Gosh we are all so pregnant!!!! Mind you, I'm way behind most of you on cd20. About another week to go... BOOOORING.

Whims - moving (esp to another country) is so daunting. I think it's one of those things where you just have to 'walk through the middle'. I hope that you have some good walking boots, a flare and a very large bar of choc.

Yes, my job is interesting and flexible, which has been great for DS as he spends lots of time with me but still gets a bit of time with other children at the childminder's (important, I think). There was a few years when my biz earned stacks of cash . I'm very fortunate because even though I'm editing books, which is a nice change and good for the brain, I'm only really earning pin money these days tbh. I bought the house when I was a bachelorette and I'm now paying the mortgage on past earnings! DP coughs up for the bread and butter etc (or should that be organic meat and vegetables as TTC dictates...).

Maybe - lots of good advice here, I hope. A pg would make it all seem trifling anyway. Grin (Hmmm, a trifle would be nice for the Smacketeers..)

Back to the grind...

GenericDietCola · 06/02/2012 13:55

I'm a bit out of touch so sorry if I've missed anything...

Sweetie the dogs sound really cute. We are toying with the idea of a dog instead of a baby but of course that won't be necessary for either of us as we'll be preggo in no time.

Maybe sorry about your work stresses - sounds horrible, but I loved Whimsical's breakdown of the year - it'll be September in no time (and by then we'll be almost ready to give birth).

Pop the takeaway sounds like a nightmare but I like the sound of your decorating. Hope kernal is well.

Imps you are so virtuous having non-alcoholic cocktails - you deserve that mid-week BFP!

Stasi glad to hear your HSG is so soon and I'm brooking that it will result in an instant BFP.

Bean love the story behing your CBFM.

It's cd 2 for me - AF did show up and I finally got a BFN (just like Little - I hope we will be bump buddies again but with a happier outcome this time!). Looking forward to some holiday rat smacking next week as we'll be on hols with the extended family.

Imps7 · 06/02/2012 14:04

Oooh good news re: AF and BFN Generic - looking forward to news of your BFP in about 4 weeks' time!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 06/02/2012 16:35

Just sneaking in to admire Pop's pregnancy glow Grin

Maybe your work sounds very annoying. I wouldn't feel guilty about not making it into work today. I really hate people who give the impression of being hard workers when they are in fact lazy sods. I work with a few people like that.

I'm so excited about the imminent BFPs from Stasi, Sweetie and Imps
I'm on day 9 over here so my BFP seems a loooonnng way away.

Green your consultant sounds lovely and I have got everything crossed for a healthy baby in 9 months time Smile

Whims your move sounds so exciting. Its so good that you'll be kept busy over the next few months cos then you are bound to get an ironic BFP.

I managed to fit in some rat smacking on sat and sun as the CBFM is reading highs but I'm sure I've got a few days until ovulation. I'm on holiday this week so may try to dtd every night. Does anyone know if this is too much? Will it mean poorer quality swimmers? DH has had 2 SA which were normal.

Btw quick rant about one of my closest friends. She is 4 months pregnant & keeps announcing everything little thing about pregnancy on fb (she got her BFP the 1st month of ttc) It's really getting me down as she knows that I and one of our other friends are struggling to conceive. It actually makes me feel sick everytime I see it. I know I just have to get over it but wanted to blow off steam on here as DH doesn't understand why I'm getting upset about it.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 06/02/2012 16:37

Yay for the BFN and AF Generic at last you know where you are in your cycle Smile

PopcornMouse · 06/02/2012 16:39

I have a friend just like that, cupcakes - there is an unsubscribe button, did you know? You won't obviously unfriend her, but won't be subjected to her hideous updates either :o Wink

PopcornMouse · 06/02/2012 16:40

Yay for AF Generic ! I'm brooking it'll be your last one for a long while :)

SweetieDoesIt · 06/02/2012 16:41

Generic the one time AF is welcome to start things going again. Fx for a very short wait.

Stasi thanks for the temping advice, I am not sure if it is AF lurking or just a blip Confused all sounding very promising for you my dear. Fx you will be making the next BFP announcement very soon.

Scarlett these HSG have had very positive results in the BFP stakes - am brooking extra hard for the same for you

Am home a bit early today, my head is in bits. Think I will POAS tomorrow just to put myself out of the misery 11dpo is too early but hey ho

BeedleTheBard · 06/02/2012 16:46

generic good news about AF, I had a thought, perhaps we should be praising her for turning up at times like this and just ignoring her when she turns up when we don't want her to. You know treating her like a toddler, and not giving her attention for bad behaviour Grin

maybe sorry work is crap at the moment, hope you've had a good day at home.

whims how is the planning coming along for the big move?

Brooking hard for all these imminent BFPs. I'll be confirming Friday or Saturday Grin

Will catch up more later

CupcakesAndCocktails · 06/02/2012 16:55

Pop you are a star! I had no idea you could do that. I've sorted her, now I'm going to sit with my cup of tea and get rid of all the other over sharing friends Grin

Beedle I'll be checking in on friday Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 06/02/2012 16:55

Oh Cupcakes it isn't easy is it. I agree with Pop unsubscribe from her updates. It amazes me how she can be so inconsiderate if she actually knows you and your other friend are struggling.

Sweetie my love, why is your head in bits? Is it the waiting?

Generic hurrah for AF! This is the last one for a while, so make the most of it Grin

Stasi it sounds like you have an amazingly technical brain!! It's blooming freezing down here, but I love the snow Grin

Beedle I am looking forward to your confirmation too!

I have another week to wait too Bean, boo to my long cycles. That just means we will be confirming together Wink

I have had a nice day off. My first sock club pattern has just come through, and I love it. Though my yarn isn't here. The one bad thing about snow!

GreenOlives · 06/02/2012 17:09

Hi lovelies!

Sweetie My consultant has been at the hospital I work at FOREVER! He did fertility treatment for one of my colleagues and her son is 23 now! He is also treating 2 other colleagues currently and they were always singing his praises so I waited until my referral letter came through then I rang and asked to change to this particular consultant. I had to wait a tiny bit longer but it was well worth it! If you ever need a referral

CupcakesAndCocktails · 06/02/2012 17:14

Glad you've had a good day Maybe, how is the snow now? Do you think you'll be in work tomorrow? We had a fair bit of snow which has been gradually disappearing throughout the day. Ready for the big freeze tonight.

I think my friend is over excited about the baby which is completely understandable. She put up all her scan pics at 12 weeks which amazed me (close friends were told at about 7 weeks) Im very hopeful that it will all go ok for them but I would never do that as there is no guarantee that there will be no problems.
I can manage fine when we speak on the phone or see each other but it does upset me when I see something out of the blue like on fb. I suppose she just doesn't understand how frustrating it is to ttc as she didn't really try!

whimsicalname · 06/02/2012 18:33

I've heard people commenting about over sharing friends on FB before, but hadn't really come across it until recently cupcake. an old school friend is now expecting number 3, and we have been subjected to a weekly count down, plus almost daily pg related postings. Thank goodness for the unsubscribe function.

Thanks to all of your encouragement about moving. I've just shown a friend round who might be interested in renting our house which would be AMAZING. it would be such a weight off my mind (although my parents will never stop nagging me about how it needs a proper management company). Other than that, I'm not (yet) getting my knickers in a twist. Bean you said I seem calm and competent. That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said. You can have one of my vintage tea cups. In fact you can all have one.

beangrower · 06/02/2012 19:48

Ooo I love vintage t cups (with trifle in). Thanks. I'm sure you will take the US by storm Olives and bump! Grin

Sorry about inconsiderate FaecesBook friends. I avoid because it gives me the green monster/status anxiety.

Maybe - let's confirm together.

Keep well everyone. See you tomorrow.

X

SweetieDoesIt · 06/02/2012 20:25

Beedle brooking for your BFP come the weekend, so how cold is it with you are the moment? Negative double digits?

Cupcakes I have very few FB friends as I go through mass culling from time to time, I find it very cleansing Grin

Maybe on the socks front they look very thick and cozy but can you get your boots on with them? Or are they indoor wear instead of slippers? Sorry for mt stupid question. Blush

Olives thanks for the info on your consultant who does sound fab. Word of mouth is such a good thing. You are very lucky to have him on your doorstep and with personal recommendations. I will cross this bridge if the time comes.

bean I have never heard of trifle in vintage tea cups but am so loving the combo as I do LOVE trifle and am partial to a vintage tea cup.

I have been looking obsessing on FF since my last post and dont think I have had a implantation dip low enough, there was a slight dip but no where near down to the base line. I still have sore boobs but started getting cramps so do think AF is around the corner bitch that she is. I will see what my temps do in the morning before deciding what to do next, although I have a range of pee stick to choose from all shouting "Sweetie, over here, pee on me!"

cakes82 · 06/02/2012 20:26

Hello All
Weekend away was lovely Durham is a really nice city to visit, especially when your not really a city person. There was a little snow but not enough to stop us getting around by bus or train or foot. Bed seemed really hard which didn't help me to sleep :(
Got home an hour ago and we have no snow here, although the tops of hills are covered.

FB can be a bit of pain, i'm signed up to a selling page and one girl on there has her scan photo as her profile pic, find that a bit much myself.

Glad normal service is resumed Generic

Been so much to catch up on I keep forgetting who said what, so hope your all well and happyish with the world.

Got my Drs appt. on Wed. Am just generally itchy but that could be the fact I can't take my antihistamine now also probs with wind Blush
Like the idea of the pregnancy book Pop lack of obvious symptoms is making it feel not quite real at the moment. Hope your next takeaway is much better!

GenericDietCola · 06/02/2012 21:14

Cakes I think I forgot to say congratulations! Me and DH would like to visit Durham - it sounds lovely from your recommendation and we have family connections there.

Sweetie put down the fish and put your feet up. I hope you feel OK and let us know asap tomorrow when you confirm your obvious pregnancy!

Beedle loved your idea re welcoming AF when she's allowed to visit and ignoring her when not (like disciplining a toddler) - resonated with me! I am glad to see her and good that she showed up after only 33 days and hopefully she will not hang around for 5 weeks, which is what happened after my last mc! Anyway, I am definitely getting pregnant this month with a healthy one and everything and I shall BROOK NO ARGUMENT!

Hello Whimsical - nice teacups!

Hi Green - you are always so positive, it's great.

Bean - you sound more positive too my love.

Maybe your baking sounds and looks amazing - let us know your bakery details when you get going with it!

Imps and Pop thanks for your comments re my AF too. Who knew it would be so exciting to get a BFN and AF!

Right, I'm off to eat some chocolate as it's the last time I'll have the AF excuse for a while!

GenericDietCola · 06/02/2012 21:16

PS where's Far? Hopefully she is being all casual and nonchalant with her DH resulting in lots of smacketeering.

Hope Munx is OK too.

BeedleTheBard · 06/02/2012 21:23

Not too cold here now sweetie, a relatively mild -6 today :-), it was -15 the other day. No huge snow falls either so we could have lent the snowshovels to maybe not that that would have helped if the trains weren't running Hmm

whims perhaps you could subject your fb friend to a weekly count down to your move - ooh only 20 weeks to go and so much packing to do - you could even set them so that only she sees them so you don't annoy all your other friends Grin

sweetie i think the important thing to try to remember when you're temping is not to look at any one reading in isolation, just the general trend over 3 or 4 days. Hard to do i admit, i occasionally over-analyse my temps too.

Oh and i have mega sore boobs - just thought I'd mention it Grin

ScarlettInSpace · 06/02/2012 21:45

Re referrals, I went to see a younger female GP and she didn't think twice about referring me, don't know if it helped that it wasn't a silly older man who thinks he knows better?

CBFM sounds like the way forward, I've decided Im going to get me one for Easter so I won't need one hopefully

maybe there is a culture at my head office of starting late and working later but I don't subscribe to that at all, I'm in early (but tbh i dontO need to be too early to beat everyone else by an hour lol) and leave on time end of. bean I'd bloody love to work for myself, I'm meeting a friend this week to start to pull together a business plan...

sweetie I'm trying to find a pup at the moment too, but struggling to find any ready at moment Hmm and thanks for booting my boss. I told him exactly what I thought of him once I'd checked he'd put the phone down

stasi I'm trying not to think about the 'straight to IVF, do not pass go, do not collect £200' possible outcome of HSG, but looks like I should only be a week behind you with the HSG, let me know how it is! My consultant said you can get cramps when they put the dye in an suggested I take some painkillers about 30 minutes before the appt, don't know if that helps...

whims have we got an extra bank holiday again this year? I love the queen Wine oh and a word of advice although I'm sure you know already be very wary of letting your house to s friend regardless how nice they are, I let mine to my best friend, we aren't friends any more Angry Sad

Re boobs - mine get sorer [ is that even a word?!] every bloody cycle [oops no pun intended lol]

Oh and I've discovered this month that I am cack at abstaining... I've had a glass of wine nearly every day this cycle and our attempts to reduce SWI to every other day has failed miserably Blush

Scuse typos am on iPod x
