duggs1976 · 17/01/2012 22:21

hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Oh shit wish I'd not put it in with the doctors now! Now I'm going to get 1 month for £7.40!! I never thought that any drugs would be less than NHS for some reason.

Have you had any side effects on it? (sorry for the questions)

Havingkittens · 21/03/2012 14:34

snoopy you don't have to fill the prescription. You could get Mr S to send you a private one and use that instead. They will fax it to the pharmacy for you if you need it urgently.

So, my shagging schedule.... well Saturday morning is my scan, which will be CD11. Last month I Ov'd on CD16. So I guess I'll be testing around Easter Monday.

Just had a smear test. It's like open season in my nether regions these days Grin

Arianrhod · 21/03/2012 14:42

You ask all you like snoopy, I ask enough questions myself! I've had absolutely no side effects from the hydroxy at all, de nada! Quite impressed really - just hope it's doing something!! And kittens is absolutely right - you don't have to fill the GP's prescription, didn't Mr S give you a private prescription anyway? If not, just ask Louise - she sent me mine.

lol kittens ... I remember by the point I got to giving birth to DD all those years ago, I'd been poked, prodded and examined by so many doctors, nurses, midwives, etc, I just stopped caring about it - I think you end up giving up your modesty when you go through this stuff!

snoopygirl · 21/03/2012 15:43

oh horrid can't stand smears, can stand lots of other poking Grin sorry I seem to have Carry On humour today) but not smears!

yes he does give me the pescriptions but i try to get away with getting them on NHS so just hand into the docs as they have a dispensary. got my first Ovitrelle on NHS but not this one. Thought it was too good to be true..

good news about Hydroxy ari ta

ChoccyPud · 21/03/2012 17:07

Hi all! Just dropped in and will add my two pence re hydroxy. I've been on it for nearly 9 weeks now. No side effects at all but nor was I told to have a blood test after 6 weeks. They didn't mention when they had a cannula plugged in to me on Monday either. Oh well. I'm not about to let it bother me right now!!

snoopygirl · 21/03/2012 18:05

I wouldnt' worry about it too much ladies. If it was that vital I'm sure we'd all be having it. It might be as my doc was consulting his medical directory on that drug and it said about a blood test, Louise was kind of going along with this to put his mind at rest -iykwim.

She said he was probably showing more concern as 1. he has to follow the guidlines before dishing out new meds on NHS and 2. I think he is a bit in dark about exactly what I'm having done. She said it may be best to cc him in on all the letters I have from them, which is fair enough so am going to let Cheryl know.

Pebbles73 · 21/03/2012 21:29

Gosh it has been busy on here today :). Duggs I have a scan on Friday cd10 to check my lining and see if there is a dominant follicle. I then start using the ovulation sticks over the weekend and wait for the surge, might need another scan Monday. Once I get the surge I phone them and then they put the embryos back couple of days later. This is assuming the ovulation sticks work for me otherwise on cd21 will have to do down regulating. Soo hope I don't have to. How long will it be until you have egg collection now? How are you finding the gonal f? The stimulating part is much better than the down regulation as that makes you menopausal que headaches and night sweats! Hate to tell you but just did the first clexane injection and really stings and left a little lump.

Snoopy your cram it in joke really made me laugh, you are on form today. Grin

Kittens know what you mean about open season I feel like everyone has had a look over the last couple of years! Doesn't even bother me anymore....

duggs1976 · 21/03/2012 21:37

Hey pebbles I am on short protocol so no down reg straight into stimulation injections ( or is down reg when u inject to stop early ov? ). Also clexane is part of nk cells treatment according to dr s we have to take it for ages if we get bfp? Injections for weeks/months Sad I'm on cd6 so another scan Friday cd8. Looks like my egg collection might be next fri cd15.

Pebbles73 · 21/03/2012 21:48

With down regulation you do it for about 2/3 was and have to ave your af as well and then they do a blod test to ake sure it as worked. Stopped hurting from the clexane now but think will get a lot of bruises from it. Sooo expensive as well though will be well woorth it if it works!
How are you feeling about ec? Any questions ask away but it is nothing to worry about. You will prob have some camping afterwards like period pain but nothing very painful. Enjoy the ay lying in bed and sleeping off anaesthetic afterwards whie your dh looks after you. :)

Havingkittens · 22/03/2012 07:07

Owww, I'm in pain like I've never felt before! Not the level but the type of pain. Can I ask, has anyone had this on SO? I was having twinges the last couple of days but now I have a really sharp stinging pain as well as crampy twinges. I can't work out whether it's from the smear I had yesterday or whether it's my follicles going mad. Some of the stinging feels like it's in my cervix but then I have pains up near my right ovary too.

Not sure if I should try to get an emergency doctor's appointment or whether this is just over stimulation of my follicles. If I have an infection or something from my smear then "love making" is going to prove tricky, in which case I don't want to end up forking out £230 for scan + Ovitrelle if it's going to go to waste this cycle.

snoopygirl · 22/03/2012 08:24

the only thing I've had kittens is pain the other day in top righthand side but not bad like your describing. Give Louise a call and see what she says. She should be able to assess whether overstimming by level of pain I would have thought. Pretty sure she works on a Thursday. If not I'd get down the docs.

let us know how you get on.x

Havingkittens · 22/03/2012 09:42

Well I took some ibuprofen and went back to bed for an hour and when I woke up the pain wasn't there anymore so I'm going to see how I go. Strange though, it was really uncomfortable.

snoopygirl · 22/03/2012 11:56

That's odd kittens. Hope it stays away as it were.

Had my blood taken down docs and he is more happy with me taking the hydroxy after he's spoken with L at NLC. Do the rest of you copy your private treatment to your doctors or have they not asked? i am lucky he is really helpful albeit in the dark about treatment.

Oh and I had a blood test which was for Liver and Kidney function. this is what is in Dr's med journal to test before taking hydroxy. saying that he said I can start taking it now! Rather than wait for bloods results to come through - what's the point then? So they can't be that concerned. I am not sure whether this is same bloods that NLC take. Probably is and maybe some other tests?

duggs & *pebbles your treatment sounds like it's going along really quickly! best of luck x

snoopygirl · 22/03/2012 20:55

Well that's me done with swi for a bit. Sorry but finding it all a bloody chore!! Convered all bases so can now go to bed in peace without going through the motions every night. God what happened to the excitement of all that..........

Now on 2ww so see what this month brings.

kittens are you feeling any better?

suemays · 22/03/2012 21:01

Hi ladies, I am still lurking but not actively adding posts as trying to take a bit of a back seat. Louise has advised that I don't TTC for 2 clear cycles which I am not happy about but understand why! She said that statistically I would be more likely to miscarry again after having 2 chemicals back to back in the space of 3 months so I think I should take her advice. Frustratingly that means I won't be TTC again until mid may! She said it will give me more time to get the hydroxy on my system. I am also taking high dose fish oils as have done research and discovered that in the US that is one way they treat killer cells.

Duggs good luck with the IVF, I will be watching you with interest as I might end up down that road. I spoke to Louise about the possibility of switching clinics and apparently Mr S does use some of the other drugs that the ARGC etc use. She also said that in her 2 year history of working with Mr S there has only been 1 lady who has miscarried 3 times on his plan and they dont know why. I am worried I will be like her and will keep having chemicals but hopefully this break will do me good. I am so glad to be off the steroids. I friend of mine told me I looked well this week - thats because I am finally getting some sleep!

Snoopy I dont copy the info from Mr S apart from the private prescriptions that I ask them to convert.

Kittens I hope the pain has gone and not come back. I also had a smear test last month and all was OK thankgod!

Choccy well done on the BFP, are you worrying over every twinge etc yet? I found once I got passed my AF due date I couldnt stop worrying!

Will prob not be on here for a while so waves to everyone else! Also good luck pebbles with your IVF too and everyone who is testing. By the time I get around to TTC again you will prob all be preggers and I will be on this thread on my own Sad

Havingkittens · 23/03/2012 09:44

snoopy I know what you mean. I never thought I'd hear myself utter the words "do you think you could possibly try and cum in under 5 minutes please?" thank god we at least have a sense of humour about it.

The stinging pain hasn't come back, just a bit twingey (sp?!). Hopefully that'll be 3 nice juicy follicles Wink

sue, it's frustrating, I know, having to take a 2 month break. I had to do that last year. Mind you, it is nice to be off the Pred and not be preoccupied with your body for a bit.

Pebbles73 · 23/03/2012 09:57

Sorry you had so much pain Kittens and glad you are feeling better. I think Euro also had some pain as well the first month.

Snoopy glad to hear you have got the hydroxy.Does that mean you will stop the pred completely? I know what you mean about the swi, not easy to do in demand!!

Hi Sue I know how frustrating it is to wait but it will give you time to get your body healthy again and prepared for a pregnancy. Have a lovely holiday and enjoy a few glasses of Wine.

Well just had my scan but was a bit early as lining only 5.5 and follicle about 14mm so back for another scan on Monday.

snoopygirl · 23/03/2012 11:45

Well just enjoy sue and enjoy time off drugs. And a premature Happy Birthday to you!! Have a fab time in Bermuda was it?

pebbles bugger being bit too early. What cycle day are you?

kittens glad I'm not the only one. Also had one of those bickering type evenings and that's the last thing you want to do.

I so long to look normal again. I feel like I've aged 10yrs doing all this and for sweet fa so far. I nearly burst into tears on way to shops this morning I felt so bad, massivley tired and my OH didn't set alarm till 8 and I felt dreadful having to get out to school in 45 mins flat. I have big problems with my eyes which is so distracting I can't think about anything else. I've had that on and off for nearly two yrs now. Also my memory seems dreadful I am making myself look really scatty when I talk to people, getting names wrong and stuff. I also seem to have a couple of really bad pmt days where I have to cancel people as just can't cope with them.

Feel like I'm cracking up a bit at the moment.

suemays · 23/03/2012 13:58

snoopy maybe you should take a month or two off as well to get the preds out of your system and get back to normal. I think one of the reasons for the enforced break is to rest mentally as well as physically. didn't you think you had two chemicals in a row recently too? I remember you saying Louise advised a month break but I don't think you did it?

I am using the time off to lose a bit of weight and also let my hair down a bit. Louise said to get some time in for myself so also booking a spa day when I get back from Bermuda. I have worked out dh is abroad with work during the next 2 cycles when I am due to ov anyway so we couldn't have tried even if I wanted to.

duggs1976 · 23/03/2012 15:12

Ok kittens hilarious cumming in under 5 mins ! I was over the moon that DH seems to have sped up in that department and seem so grateful - never thought I'd be
Saying that let alone typing it on the web!

pebbles can up pop a few cylogest over weekend to give lining a bit of a boost they looking for 8mm aren't they!?

snoopy u poor thing. What cycle r u on of SO?

sue u get PG so if Louise stats anything to go by you've had your quota.

OP posts:
snoopygirl · 23/03/2012 17:13

maybe your right sue about time off but just this nagging thing in my head about being 43 in August and not really wanting to be over that age having a child. I know it's putting massive pressure on. I do seem to have bad pmt for just a couple of days since starting all this and never had it before much at all.

duggs this is only round 2 and i asked him how does that work with being on pred any longer as that will be 6 cycle on it next month. So he said if it's stopped at day 10 regularly i can go on another couple of months and really what they are saying is can do the Hydroxy instead but the risk is mine if I want to just go on that alone. Although i'm sure Louise said as I was leaving that some lady was 36 weeks just on Hydroxy alone. But head is like a sieve so cant be certain that's what she said Confused

kittens made me laugh..... under 2 mins would be even better!! just can't be arsed.

pebbles yes duggs is right how about some cyclogest?

Abney · 23/03/2012 18:03

Hi everyone. Been reading all of your posts recently as I am on the SO programme for the first time. I am 44 and I have 1 DS born 2009 on pred, Fragmin, asprin and other vitamins. I had 1 MS at the age of 26 and then from the age of 36 to 40 I had 6 more, 2 chromosone and 4 straight MS. Then I had my DS. It was the 1st time on pred so I thought I had cracked it. Since 2009 to my horror I have had 4 more MC, 2 in 2010 and 2 in 2011. The majority of all my MC I have seen heartbeat and then it stops at 8 to 9 weeks. So the good news is through perserverence I think everyone can get there in the end but the bad news is that you have to keep trying and just take each MC in your stride. I have in the past got pregnant relatively easy but due to my age I wanted to go on the SO to give myself every chance. I have my 1st follicle scan on Tuesday with DSh. It is reassuring that I am not on my own although sad that we all have to go through this. I do have very high killer cells but I had no issue when I had my son i.e. NKC was not an issue and neither was 'sticky' blood which just came out as borderline. In all my pregnancies I have been on Fragmin 3 times only. Not the last 3 times. This time I insisted on Fragmin and also intralipids so watch this space. Good luck to all. I will keep watching your posts over the next few weeks.

snoopygirl · 23/03/2012 20:42

Hello abney nice to see a newbie as not many of us on here and the more information shared the better. So sorry for alll your mc's that's horrendous.
I am 42 and a half and had 5 mc's and two chems and this is cycle two on SO for me. and cycle 5 on pred. I think you are right that it is just perseverence at the end of the day. Fantastic that you have a lovely pred DS, my DS is just 6 and I would really love a sibling for him. I also have V High NKC 3.16.
I know nothing about Fragmin apart from it's another injection based blood thining drug. Why did you still have to take asprin as well?

Good luck with scan and let us know how you get on it would be great to see your progress.

Havingkittens · 23/03/2012 21:05

Hi abney, welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about all that you've been through. I wish you the best of luck.

Mr S just called me. I was a bit short when I answered the phone as the mobile rang, then the home phone for ages and ages and then straight back on the mobile, all at a crucial point in my cooking! Anyway, I forgave him as he was calling to let me know that he had a cancellation for 11am tomorrow so I get to have a few extra hours in bed instead of getting up at 6. Phew! So, sorry duggs I won't see you there. Hope all goes well with your intralipids. Only problem is that I now have to go and start housework as I was going to get it all done when I got back from Epsom nice and early. Whoops! I have a client coming to the house on Sunday and it's a bloody mess here!

duggs1976 · 23/03/2012 22:16

Sorry to hear your stories but v
Interesting . Can I ask what is fragmin?
