hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Thats fantastic news jaffa am sooo pleased for you. How are you feeling now, more reassured or just panicing about the next scan?

Duggs I don't know if you have bought the clexane yet for your ivf but I just paid for 5 wks worth at Boots and is £180!!!

Havingkittens · 20/03/2012 14:08

Great news jaffa. You are now the official "beacon of hope" for the Super Ovulators!

I just spoke to Louise and she reckoned that Friday (CD10) would be a little early for me to have a scan based on last month's findings. She said that I could try to get an appointment for Saturday but if I couldn't it wouldn't be a big problem but that I should "make love" on Saturday to give myself the best chance just in case of early OV. Thing is, if I go all the way to Epsom on Saturday we won't have time for any love making as we have a party to go to and I have to leave the party earlier than my OH as I am working on Sunday so I reckon we will stick with the Monday appointment and use our Saturday more productively.

Now all I have to do is find some cheap Ovitrelle. The lady at Asda was somewhat blank when I asked if they had it.

snoopygirl · 20/03/2012 16:30

Hi all

Just come back from NLC with an extra 90 odd miles added on to 2hr journey as M40 exit shut!!! I am now exhausted. Ended up going to bloody Newbury and then toward Oxford nightmare.

Anyway good news is have 2 x 17mm follicles on one side and tiny one on other which was no good. But he said perfect again......wish this perfect analysis would lead to something! Womb lining thicker this month at 10mm. I wonder if helped taking the Cyclogest earlier last month. He said I could do that again but didn't really need to. Have to take Ovitrelle jab tonight which will be first time DH has done on his own without nurse hovering. "Sex" (he always uses that word with me kittens Grin Wed and Thurs night.

I asked about the fact that I am on 6 months pred next month and he said if you get off it at 10dpo then you can go on another couple of months. I asked about Hydroxy too and he said it's experimental as far as Immune suppressing goes and I could go on it after this month if my sleep was as bad but think he is saying it's up to me if I want to risk it on it's own. then when I came out of clinic Louise said start taking now! Talk about one contradicting the other. Anyway I shall as it takes 6 weeks to get in system. Just put pescription into Dr's and he just called me and asked me did they do an eye test and blood test. I think he said he has certain guidelines before dishing it out. He seemed concerned and I think he thinks I am seeing some crackpot who calls himself a Dr down some backstreet! I said I'll try to get Midwife to call him. Hopefully L will oblige. I have an appointment for him to do blood test on Thursday.

Sorry for long post; Also I asked about Letrozole and he said it doesn't improve egg quality just makes more eggs.

jaffajiffy · 20/03/2012 19:01

snoopy sounds like great lining AND follicles! Sorry about the journey, but it is always more reassuring to see the Man Himself, don't you think?

jaffajiffy · 20/03/2012 19:05

kittens what about a Saturday morning shag? Sperm float for up to 5 days! So it would cover Saturday evening and then you could do Epsom if necessary. Eee, who said romance was dead, eh? Alarm goes off. Prod DP awake. Dtd. Etc. The first cycle we'd been told to 'have intercourse' I just couldn't. DH was game and I said fine just get on with it Blush. It was awful. Passion. Killed.

Tmi? Sorry Blush

duggs1976 · 20/03/2012 19:09

Thanks pebbles I wonder if asda cheaper! snoopy glad u asked. So letrozole is just a numbers game then. 2 eggs better than 1. Also they say 6 mths then shoulf move on from super ov. So i guess like natural cycles they say 30% should get pregnant in first 3 mths. 60% in first 6 mths and 80% in first 9 mths and 90% in first yr. 95% in 18 mths and 97% in 2 yrs. Is pretty similar then so is probability rather than anything relating to letrozole building up. In fact it says letrozole exits the body within hours so is gone by time ovitrelle is administered. Let's hope someone gets a bfp soon. Reckon sue has gone off and is having a 'Life' until she starts trying again. Good for her. I'm on day 5 injections day 2. Ok so far.

Havingkittens · 20/03/2012 19:47

Argh! Well, I've just been asked to do a shoot on Monday so now I'm buggered if there are no Saturday appointments. I really don't want to turn down the job!

I called Asda today and I think they said £37 or 38 for Ovitrelle so it's still cheaper from Home healthcare inc delivery. Similar from Tesco and about £47 from Boots.

duggs1976 · 20/03/2012 20:19

You can get from new life clinic for £20 x

OP posts:
snoopygirl · 20/03/2012 21:15

sorry forgot sue is having a break. Enjoy honey and look forward to your hols. x

jaffa yes I do prefer to see him -saying that i do feel a bit rushed sometimes.

duggs what's next in the programme after these jabs then? Glad all is going well! I spose the only thing with the Letrozole is that I have double the chances of getting pregnant no? As you only release one egg naturally and I'm getting 2/3. lets hope so.

kittens have you tried Superdrug. I think sue said they are doing cost price fertility drugs now. Might be worth a go. I know what you meant about chemist staff and the drugs. The Boots lady seemed very concerned for me when asking for the Letrozole and made sure I knew what I was doing. They looked up Dr S's surgery's too! Getting funny looks whatever establishment I go into, with me just thinking give me the frickin drugs, I am fully in control! Well kind of..... On that front I am so dreading going on the pred from Thursday again with the sleep issues. Stealing myself to turn into a manic zombie once all over again.

DH did the jab earlier and had to keep hands over eyes was really nervous but it was just the thought of him bugggering up half way through and no nurse present as i didn't feel a thing!

Havingkittens · 20/03/2012 21:20

duggs, NLC are out of Ovitrelle. They are waiting for a delivery and Louise said not to count on them having it on Saturday. If I do end up having to turn down my job on Monday and have the scan it'll be at Harley St and they don't have it there anyway. Will call Superdrug tomorrow and if no luck will order from Home healthcare.

snoopy, perhaps the reason they looked concerned was because Letrozole is first and foremost a breast cancer drug.

Pebbles73 · 20/03/2012 22:33

Have you researched the clexane much Duggs? Have done a bit of googling and saw that apart from blood clotting issues is used as an immune regulator. Did Mr S explain why we use it fur ivf at all?

Snoopy sorry you had such a mare of a journey, what a pain! Good follies though and interesting about the letrezole.

Kittens hope you get your scan sorted out.

Jaffa I know what you mean about the intercourse thing, we had a row on our first month so was very hard to then dtd when neither of us was in the mood!!

duggs1976 · 20/03/2012 22:46

snoopy oh yes letrozole makes u produce more eggs each cycle so def doubles chances if 2 eggs etc but explains why y have more chance each cycle that u try. Not cumulative build up but probability that this cycle will work. I hope it works for someone else soon. No I need to get cleaner for Saturday so had better sort it out Smile

OP posts:
duggs1976 · 20/03/2012 22:47

Not cleaner meant cleaxane Smile

OP posts:
duggs1976 · 21/03/2012 09:05

nothing said able clexane PEBBLES I think I will also google.. do you think Asda will do it cheaper than boots ? where are you now on your cycle..?

OP posts:
Havingkittens · 21/03/2012 09:22

Louise told me that larger branches of Boots are cheaper than the smaller ones for fertility drugs so might be worth calling around.

I've managed to get an appointment for Saturday at NLC, which is good news. The bad news is it's at 8.20am so I'll be up at 6am on Saturday morning. Still, I'll be home in plenty of time for SWI (once I've had a snooze).

duggs1976 · 21/03/2012 09:47

kittens I have a 9am NLC appointment for pre ivf intralipids so I might bump into you !

OP posts:
Havingkittens · 21/03/2012 09:59

I'll keep my (bleary) eye out for you Smile

snoopygirl · 21/03/2012 10:13

Blimey kittens talk about cram it all in(pardon the pun) Grin. and yes think it is cos it's used for Cancer that their giving me strange looks!

don't know whether I said but got last lot of Letrozole for £6.40 at large Boots. Cheaper than NHS pescription!

Havingkittens · 21/03/2012 11:31

Ha ha, your pun appeals to my puerile sense of humour!

Gosh, £6.40, that's cheap. So Louise was right, as it was a bit more at my local Boots. Must remember to coincide collecting it with a trip into town next month. Maybe I should call Boots in Oxford St and see what they're charging for Ovitrelle.

Havingkittens · 21/03/2012 11:43

Hmmm, Boots flagship store on Oxford St still charging around £50 for it. I've just called NLC though and they've had a delivery. Phew!

duggs1976 · 21/03/2012 12:29

oh good kittens .. I actually was going to say I have a spare ovitrelle.. don't ask how .. I went to NLC last mth and forgot it and for my IUI they wanted me to do it there and then so I had to buy another one. So don't fret as I willl be there just before 9am for my intrallipids so I can bring it with me if you like? it has been in the fridge

OP posts:
snoopygirl · 21/03/2012 12:30

kittensGlad you've got it sorted.

Local chemist charged me £40 yesterday. so if I get my arse in gear next month then looks like NLC good price, as don't they charge £15 for delivery....seem to remember someone saying that. Still cheaper though.

so (sorry getting a bit confused with your shagging schedule)! you are scanning monday is that right? So you'll be testing just under a week after me then I think........I'll be testing 31st march, well that will be 10dpo for me. trying to book a holiday from 1st April so if i did get a bfp then buggers Intralipids up a bit but I just feel this is all highly unlikely anyway and even if I did I can't see anything sticking. Some how i just get the feeling this isnt going to hapen for me before I throw the towel in.

Oh L from NLC just called my Dr and put his mind at rest. Apparentely you get a blood test after 6 weeks of being on the Hydroxy to check all is ok. Think he charmed her, she kept saying how nice he was!

Arianrhod · 21/03/2012 13:18

Err ... snoopy I've been on the hydroxy since mid-Dec and I've never had a blood test suggested ... ?? Going back into lurk mode now :)

snoopygirl · 21/03/2012 13:30

Hmmm I don't know about that. maybe it's worth a mention when you see them next. what was the reason you where on it again?

Can I ask do you know how much is it when you buy over the counter?

Arianrhod · 21/03/2012 13:44

Because my NK cell count shot up by a huge amount (not activation, that went down slightly) from my first tests in September and my early MC in December. So as well as pred Mr S put me on the hydroxy to counterract (hopefully) the NK cells.

Don't remember the exact price but it was really cheap, from Asda pharmacy I think it was about £5ish for I think 4 months worth.
