duggs1976 · 17/01/2012 22:21

hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Hi all just been catching up with the news on here. So sorry about your bfn Euro and can imagine how you must be feeling. It's good you have your holiday to look forward to to take your mind off things a bit.

Am still keeping everything crossed for you Sueand looking out for your post when you have tested again hopefully showing a nice strong line.

Snoopy cant remember when you are testing but must be any day now so also have everything crossed for you too.

Duggs you must be getting excited about your ivf, don't forget I am here if you want to ask anything or need a chat about it.

Kittens I am so sorry you are having such a tough time of it and no wonder you are feeling so emotional. We are all here for you and you can vent or be sad as much as you like because we are here to listen and help.

Well I am 9dpo today, had some very light pink cm yesterday and some watery brown cm this morning. Trying not to read anything into it as have had unexplained brown spotting many times before on random cycles. Also first day was here skiing was very icy and fell over about four times and once yesterday. Also been lugging heavy ski gear/cases around so is very unlikely it had worked!!

Has anyone on here had implantation bleeding and if so what was it like??

Waves to anyone I have missed. :)

snoopygirl · 08/03/2012 11:05

Hi all,

Well 12dpo and still nothing at all so I think it's a no go this month but again didn't get line till 14dpo in jan so still hope I spose. No chest pains/soreness or queaseniss either anymore. I'm sure I have eye strain from squinting at sticks!!

I think If I've had implantation signs it's usually been pink cm pebbles good luck will be keeping eye on you Smile

kittens & sue you've both really been through the mill. Spout off on here anytime you want I'm happy to lend an ear as it were.

Pebbles73 · 08/03/2012 20:12

It's not over yet Snoopy.........

Tbh I don't think it is implantation as have had random brown spotting in the past that nobody could ever explain! Would spot for about a week and then eventually get so is prob just that. Just arrived back from hols and we went to get the hotel bus to pick up car but only had enough money for one so dh gone to pick up car meaning I have just heaved two heavy cases on to a trolley and ski boots!!

snoopygirl · 09/03/2012 09:13

Poor you pebbles I can just see you buried under all that gear. Hope you had a fun time. Have you tested yet? what dpo are you?

suemays · 09/03/2012 09:35

Pebbles I had a light period with my DD at implantation which is why I didn't know I was pregnant. 2 of my other pregnancies have had implantation bleeding and have been a few splodges of either pink or brown. I didnt have anything with this pregnancy though. Not sure you can read too much into it. I know some women spot around ovulation so could it have happened late? Maybe it was another egg ovulating? Did you have a nice holiday by the way?

Snoopy have you tested again today?

I am waiting for some more preg tests to come from Amazon. Part of me doesn't want to test as I will be distraught if it comes back as a negative. I dont feel at all pregnant now so wondering if I will start bleeding soon.

snoopygirl · 09/03/2012 10:16

Hi sue Hopefuly it's just the 40mg masking things for you. Hang on in there..

Blank test for me at 7.30am after barely much water all night and just done another cheap stick and there is a smudgy kind of v faint line? Why would I get that after two cups of tea? and not first thing this morning. Don't know what to think. I feel queasey again and had to eat toast before took DS to School. Confused.

eurochick · 09/03/2012 11:05

AF arrived a couple of days ago, so that is the end of my try at superov. I was never convinced it was for me and tbh I don't think it did much other than make me horribly spotty and hot! The mistimed scans meant I only got the full superov programme (with trigger shot) on the third cycle and there was only one large follie then, so it didn't make me ovulate more than I otherwise would have. So it's on to IVF for me, if I can get my head around it. I'm not there yet. Good luck to everyone.

Havingkittens · 09/03/2012 11:09

snoopy, the cheapo ones can often be more sensitive. Queasy sounds promising.

I've just had a call from my GP saying that he can't prescribe me my meds on the NHS anymore so that's really cheered me up! I understand he's in a tricky position and he's bent over backwards to help me up to now. I have enough for a couple more cycles and then I'm going to have to dig deep into my moth eaten pockets.

Yesterday I had my appointment with the NHS Fertility Clinic. The lady I saw was very sweet, but couldn't do anything much for me because of my age Sad. She did say that if I got her a copy of my HYFOSY report that she would refer me for a hysteroscopy on the NHS, so that will save me £1300 at least. Apart from that, she said that I should think about IVF with my own, or donor eggs before too long. I had a long chat with Louise afterwards and will continue on the Super Ovulation plan for a little while longer, possibly with IUI in the next cycle or the third one, depending on how many follicles I get at my next scan. I think my AF is due around Sunday so will test on Monday if it's not shown up. Although that will still only be about 11dpo. Not holding my breath though.

sue, I think the place I've applied to for counseling is similar to Cruse. They have been going for 40 years or so. They are a bit more local that the nearest Cruse place too. I have an assessment next week to see what they think my needs are.

I have been having mild anxiety attacks. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can take/do for this that isn't ill advised whilst TTC?

suemays · 09/03/2012 13:53

kittens have you tried breathing exercises? Try closing your eyes and breathing in deeply for 5 seconds and then breathing out for 5. Pilates and yoga or a walk outside can help. I don't think you can take anything for it though.

Arianrhod · 09/03/2012 14:35

kittens apparently passion flower (herbal extracts, tinctures etc) can help with anxiety, but I honestly don't know without doing some research whether it has any interactions with anything else. socialanxietydisorder.about.com/od/treatmentoptions/p/passionflower.htm and passionfloweranxiety.com/ might help for info.

Havingkittens · 09/03/2012 15:15

Thanks ari & sue. Will have a look at those later. Mostly seems to happen when I'm on my way somewhere so closing my eyes could be tricky! Either on the tube, walking or driving.

snoopygirl · 09/03/2012 16:27

Was going to say Valerian kittens as I take for restlessness at night (that's a joke, more like insomnia) but also meant to be good for anxiety but I don't think it's any good for when pregnant. So ttc - not sure you'll have to do a bit of googling.
Never done it but maybe in morning and any other time you get a chance do some meditation. Just 5 mins may help you keep calmer. Lots of 5 min sessions on you tube etc to help you learn what to do. Maybe you could load your ipod/phone with some suitable music and play when you feel it coming on. sorry i can't be of any other help. x

duggs1976 · 09/03/2012 17:17

kittens and euro this is a positive milestone. Whatever happens next it will be more scientific and accurate and be able to identify the issues. If it is egg quality then just need 1. Egg donor is scary but at least is an option to explores. If it is uterine issues then surrogocy is an option as will be your and DP sperm and eggs. Sounds scary but it means by end of this yr you will either be pregnant or be exploring or well on way with other routes. The unknown part of the journey is behind. Now it's all about moving forward positively with strong steps to get to your goal. ( I'm half convincing myself here but makes me feel stronger encouraging you both). I have been having " night terrors" past few years on this journey. DH says I sit bot upright crying. I am usually half asleep and confused. kittens!suprised u still function after your journey. Bachs rescue remedy is ok. Similar to flower essence. sue and snoopy can't u get clear blue which shows how pregnant or HCG test to put mind at rest and first response for snoopy now!

Forgot to say with IVF the eggs r on the table so to speak. kittens!reckon they'd put 2 or 3 back if u had enough that would be good enough. euro reckon CGH is worth it for u so they can test the embryos to ensure chromosonally competent ones go back. Is exciting we have option to do this these days. Results r encouraging. kittens I spent £800 last mth on IUI. 3 good follies, text book lining and a million fekkin sperm and nada. Don't bother. Unless known sperm issues. "IVF is where it's at" for you. Time is of the essence. Imagine no more rollercoaster ( well a compacted short v scary one) but the long ongoing one is ending. Smile

Hi all. Been meaning to write properly for ages but thought I'd pop on and say mr S said it was ok for me to use st John's wort when I was feeling down. But if you think you may be pg, definitely don't take it!

sue do test again!

Sorry to hear re.the bfns. The stat does say that of the people who fall pg on super ov, 80% of them are on the 4th or 5th cycle, so it may be all to play for if you can manage one more! (I know, euro, you have to start the nhs thing...)

No news from me. I'm still knocked up and paranoid. But ok.
Love to all x

eurochick · 09/03/2012 22:58

jaffa where does that stat come from? You are making me question abandoning super ov. Particularly as I am having a massive freak out about IVF and seriously considering whether or not I want to go there. I just can't see it in the positive way that duggs mentions, unfortunately.

suemays · 10/03/2012 07:46

Bad news from me as did two tests today and I am not pregnant. Looks like another chemical. Can't believe it's happened again! Waiting for the bleeding to start.

snoopygirl · 10/03/2012 09:29

Oh god sue what a bummer. i was really thinking good things would come of this cycle for you, even DH asked if yours was still going ok. It's such a pain with the Intralipids too but then we have no choice but to get them in asap. You and me both seem to have a fair chance at getting pregnant but keep getting chemicals. I can't see what else we can do to help.

BFN for me 14dpo and still feeling slightly queasey still but it's wearing off. What's that all about? Spose it's body just trying to do something and then just not sticking. So better get my Letrozole order in Sad.

euro sorry you've come to the end of the road with this. Let us know how your decision goes with IVF. x

jaffa I have to use you as inspiration now and so glad it's going good with you.

snoopygirl · 10/03/2012 09:56

bugger I starting to bleed a bit already. Does anyone know if I find an Asda pharmacy do they have to order Letrozole normally or are they likely to have it in stock? Think I'm going to be too take it this month. Should have got myself more organised.

eurochick · 10/03/2012 10:00

snoopy I've bought Letrozole at Boots the past couple of cycles and it has only been about 7 quid. My local one always has it in stock. So don't limit yourself to Asda if you don't want to miss a cycle.

Sue I'm really sorry this has turned out to be another chemical.

I should have left this thread now, but I keep popping back to see how you are all doing!

jaffajiffy · 10/03/2012 10:46

Oh sue I'm gutted for you, so, so gutted. It's obviously an implantation thing with you. What does mr S say about that? I suppose that's the NK cell treatments that he's using to try to help your body hold a pregnancy, but at the moment they're not quite enough. What a roller coaster you are on. Thinking of you.

I've reread the email I thought I was quoting in my 80% stat, and it was from mr S and it actually said "in the first 6 cycles", but Louise told us that it's a cumulative treatment and most get pg on the 4th or 5th. I had a horribly discouraging time on the 3rd and 4th and said I couldn't do anymore. The hormones were insane. I was beside myself, tired and teary, but my acupuncturist and my DH both just said please one more, and it was ok. I don't think I could have done a 6th cycle. But I guess I'm proof it's cumulative. I suppose I'm a 'straightforward' super ov case, too, and it sounds like some of you have more to deal with. But do take heart if you're able to keep going!

By the way, how horrid is cyclogest? I keep thinking I'm having another mc, but no, it's just that sludge seeping out. Eeuw.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 10/03/2012 10:46

Sue i'm sorry to hear that this was a chemical. I hope your ok x

jaffajiffy · 10/03/2012 10:56

euro I understand about the apprehension re. Ivf. We had just started thinking about whether we would do it if super ov didn't work, and it certainly raised a lot of questions. Eg would the hormones be too much (I was a psycho on super ov)? How would I feel if three embryos were implanted with the hope that at least one didn't make it? Etc. one helpful way of thinking, though, is to ask how much of you wants to do ivf right now? 10%? 5%? If you fast forward 5 years, how much of you do you think will have wished you had done it? Those figures increase, right? So the decision has to factor in your older self as well, if you see what I mean. You might still decide against it, but I found the process helpful to go through. I think we would have gone for adoption first, and still will if this pg goes wrong.

jaffajiffy · 10/03/2012 10:58

snoopy boots will have letrozole. Don't worry! And it's cheaper now. Smile

duggs1976 · 10/03/2012 11:29

Hi ladies sue I'm so sorry. What I don't really understand about this cumulative figure of success is - surely letrozole enhances ovulation so if u ovulate ok and lining ok how can the 5th or 6th be any better than 3rd or 4th?? I'm confused Blush
