duggs1976 · 17/01/2012 22:21

hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Spoke to Louise on wed and it's my 2nd cycle of superov. Still in denial and already stressing over every stretchy feeling!

eurochick · 02/03/2012 22:49

Yeah, but it's my 16th cycle of sweet FA now. I have pretty much accepted that it won't happen for me without IVF (and perhaps not even then).

V excited for you though!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 02/03/2012 22:53

Hi ladies thanks for welcoming me to your thread. I got this tonight and confirmation on a digi.

Its very early days so fingers crossed this is it!

Pebbles73 · 02/03/2012 22:59

Hi all have had a very hectic week and not been able to keep up but had a quick lurk here and there. Not been able to keep up with pred thread at all.

Sue am so excited that your bfp has got stronger!! How are you felling mentally??

Good luck to Euro and Snoopy and hope I see some more bfp's on here soon. :)

I go away tomorrow and skiing so probably won't be posting much as tricky when up a mountain! Will lurk when I can to keep up with the news and to see how the testing and new bfp ladies are getting on. I am only 3dpo so wont be testing for 11 days yet.

Hope you are getting some sleep Snoopy.

Welcome Skyper and looking forward to hearing about your ivf Duggs

Hi to anyone else have missed and have a lovely weekend.

snoopygirl · 04/03/2012 10:47

Is the Ovitrelle line out of your system today euro?
good luck for testing tomorrow? Smile

jaffajiffy · 04/03/2012 18:46

Yes, thinking of you tomorrow, euro.

eurochick · 04/03/2012 22:26

It seems to have been out of my system for a few days, snoopy so I think I am safe to test properly tomorrow. I really don't feel that this is my month though. So it's on to IVF next month. I'm looking forward to a break from the Letrozole and the pred but not the rest of it.

skyper · 04/03/2012 23:11

hi girls... well this is a busy thread..trying to keep up and tune in..but mostly trying to get my head round everyones (including mine) plans of action!!!
so, more questions..i apoligise in advance!!! :)
good news on my scan..2 follicles...one 18mm & one 16mm...is this good?!?! got my trigger shot ..yay!! so now ive to go for bloods next week... when should i be thinking about testing?? (and do u count ovulation from the trigger shot??) ... im guessing the trigger shot lingers about for a while, judging by what some of you are saying??? oh...so much to learn!!!
heres to a good week...full of success's for everyone!!

suemays · 05/03/2012 00:13

skyper sorry realised I didn't welcome you! Your follie sizes are perfect so you will have 2 good sized eggs. Normally ov is 24 to 36 hours after the trigger shot so you count ov from then. Are you on steroids as you normally take them for 14 days from ov and then test. I only take them for 10 days which is why i test at 10dpo but the trigger shot can still be in your system giving you a false positive.

izzi congrats! How many dpo are you?

I did another test this morning and really worried as the line looks slightly lighter than 2 days ago. I would have thought it should be a lot darker so worrying I will have another chemical. Still going for intrallipids on tues incase that helps but not feeling very hopeful.

Someone asked me what I was taking to help regulate my cycles but I can't remember who it was! Apart from the acupuncture I am taking extra selenium as well as the usual dr s stuff.

euro good luck with testing tomorrow, it's not over until the fat lady sings - la le la la la! With the preds I feel like I can be classed as the fat lady.
Good luck for the other testers this week x

izzybizzybuzzybees · 05/03/2012 00:17

I'm 13dpo today sue and I actually posted about my line being lighter as well :( fingers crossed for both of us!

Arianrhod · 05/03/2012 10:02

Hi ladies, thread-hopping from the Pred Thread, but I have an interest as super ov may be something I will be doing next month, if Mr S thinks it's appropriate (Louise is asking him when he's back from sick leave). Quick question if I may; I'm still not entirely sure I understand what super ov does. If you have two follies, therefore presumably two eggs, before the trigger shot, does the trigger somehow force both eggs to be released? In other words giving you two chances for pregnancy, if both eggs were to be fertilised? Or does the trigger shot do something else? And what if you had, say, 5 follies - would they necessarily all have eggs, and if so, would they all get released?

Thanks :)

suemays · 05/03/2012 10:02

Izzy I am hoping that it was just the preg test that had less dye in it. I have not got any more tests so am waiting for some to arrive and will test later on in the week again. Have you tested again this morning? The pic you posted on Friday looked really dark - mine have not been as dark as that.

eurochick · 05/03/2012 10:10

Ari yes, that is basically it. The scans are to help time the trigger shot and make sure that there are not too many eggs that will be released by it. I think you ideally want two - double the chance of sperm meeting egg without getting into risky multiples.

I tested this morning and it's a BFN as expected. I'm quite upset. This was our last chance before IVF and I still haven't quite got my head around IVF.

sue and izzy I hope all goes well for you both.

Skyper it sounds like the drugs are doing what they should.

suemays · 05/03/2012 10:37

Euro so sorry to hear it was a BFN. Dont forget, I still might have to go down the route of IVF as it could go wrong for me - I am convinced it will not work this time so just waiting for the inevitable (sorry for the morose post). At least with IVF they can check the embryo quality and you can still use it with the steroids etc. Have you decided which clinic to use? I would go for CGH if it comes to that as its supposed to help people with recurrent miscarriages. Its just the cost factor otherwise I would have done it already.

Try not to overthink the IVF procedure as it does help so many couples like us and is just a helping hand. How many superov cycles have you done?

I should imagine you are feeling awful at the moment but dont forget we are all here for you.

snoopygirl · 05/03/2012 10:37

sue sorry the line isn't getting any darker but as everyone has said the darkness of line isn't a certain way of knowing if preg is progressing as it should.

Like batt said her's was dead faint and she has gone on to be fine but can completley understand it's making you panic. I spose a blood test is the thing to do. I had one at new life the day of intralipids as when got there went to loos and both tests were virtually blank and blood test was rung through same day by nurse at nlc at 3pm. Yours are not blank though so it's up to you what you decide to do. Test again in morning maybe.
bloody nightmare all this anquish. Lets us know how it goes. x

euro so sorry about bfn. Apart from nk cells has anything else been found wrong with you or hubby? Seems really strange that you've had so many unsucessful cycles. ((huggs))

suemays · 05/03/2012 10:41

Jaffa we havent heard from you for a while - is everything OK? How are your symptoms? I hate the first few weeks of a new pregnancy. You go from feeling relieved and positive at the BFP and then within a day or 2 it all changes and paranoia sets in (or is that just me?)

eurochick · 05/03/2012 11:07

Thanks ladies.

snoopy NK cells aside, on paper we are both perfectly fertile - I have decent hormone levels, open tubes, I ovualte every month without fail, my husband has decent SA results. We are officially "unexplained" (because the NHS doesn't recognise NK cells).

I guess there are just reasons for infertility that medical science in its current state cannot detect and we must be affected by one of those problems.

I was thinking back this morning to when we started using a sort of rhythm method in the lead up to ttc. We had previously used condoms as the Pill doesn't agree with me. For a while, when he would, er, make his deposit in me, I used to get pain afterwards. Not just the sort of dull ache you can get from having your cervix or ovaries bumped, but a stinging pain deep inside. Like lemon juice on a cut. I never got it when we used barrier methods. And I didn't get it on my brief spell on the Pill with a previous boyfriend. I think there is just some kind of incompatibility there. It faded with time, but there was definitely something a bit odd going on.

suemays · 05/03/2012 14:09

euro I wonder it LIT treatment would help you as some women are allergic to their husbands white blood cells. I think they basically inject his blood into you. Dr Armstrong at the Portland in London does it so not sure if you have heard of it? Might be why you are not getting a bfp esp if all the other tests are normal. I know it's v expensive.

eurochick · 05/03/2012 15:24

I've heard of that. I guess we will look down that road if IVF doesn't work for us. As I said on another thread, the only bit of IVF that I can view positively at the moment is the "diagnostic" part. Maybe once they have the eggs and sperm in a petri dish, it will become apparent why there is a problem. At the moment, we are moving (being moved?) so quickly towards IVF that we don't have time to investigate anything else beforehand.

I have heard about the LIT treatment and wondered if that could be an issue. A friend of a friend was successful after several IVF attempts when a DQ Alpha match was discovered.
