Morning Smile

Dreamt I had a lovely bfp last night. Woke up and tested this morning, looked like a shadow or something, still too early to test I guess at 11dpo, I just love to poas Blush

I love pancake day! Will be making some after work, love them with lemon and sugar mmm

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 21/02/2012 07:40

Jam sounds positive, but from my experience I would wait another couple of days before testing again. If it is the start of your BFP, then hCG levels should double every couple of days. Hopefully by Thursday there should be a nice strong line. :)

JamRagRolyPoly · 21/02/2012 07:44

So by 13dpo, moo? Thank you, i really hope it is. Been having mild cramps for 3 days now, mostly on my left side. Really hope it's not af coming as it came early last month

Lilliana · 21/02/2012 07:48

Yay for pancake day, I'll be making loads tonight too Grin

Moo I keep thinking I'll take up knitting. My gran tried to teach me when I was younger (she is an amazing knitter) and I even went to the knitting club one of the TA's ran for the kids at school. (We were knitting angels for christmas and everyone thought I was making booties Hmm so the rumours started ...) Anyway I still can't do it. Maybe I'll join you to try again and we can start a knitting club at the back of the plane!

Have you phoned the hospital yet?

Jam hope the dream was prophetic for you (is that the right word? Brain not functioing properly yet!)

Rusulka and disco good luck with the scans today.

Grin at soothing bean with lady gaga, I would personally go with queen though!

Right better get going, I have to cook with 30 excited children today!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 21/02/2012 07:59

Disco I did not realise that you were too being scanned today; I knew it was coming up, just didn't realise it was so soon. :) good luck to you too. Hope that all goes well and everything is happy and healthy in there!!

Lil i love the idea of us sitting at the back of the plane knitting Grin. I am trying a scarf to start with, something nice and easy. Am calling the hospital today. Probably in about an hour. Although I am going ahead with the scan, AF has not yet reared her ugly head. Cramps have ebbed away (calm before the storm perhaps!)

Jam yeah, lots of people get BFPs at 13dpo - but lots of people don't, so please don't be too disheartened if you still don't get a clear answer. It all depends on when implantation takes place. Remember that it can take 2-3 days after the hormone shows in your blood, which in itself can take 3-4 days.

iloveberries · 21/02/2012 08:36

morning and happy pancake day!

we have a line at casa del berries. I wouldn't say it's very B or F but it is a P nonetheless :) I feel extremely grateful and very lucky.

disco hope the scan goes well!

To all others waiting I wish you lots of good luck for your BFP xx

Have updated af date and have put them in date order, sorry hope no one minds but I like being about to see who is testing etc.

Rusulka · 21/02/2012 17:19

Afternoon/evening ladies,

Congrats Berries! Whoop!

Disco hope your scan went ok.

Well...
Peanut seems to have everything its supposed to, and in the right place. Was initially told it would be 2 weeks til blood test and therefore NT results, but they told me today it could be as many as 5. Sad
Also, Peanut came us as measuring something like 67mm... when they should have been about 57mm. So they've changed me to 13 weeks, not 12+2.
Very concerned about this. Obvs, hospital staff in their oblivious tra-la-la way have just assumed I got my dates wrong (silly rabbit). Unfortunately for them, I was TTC with a vengeance, POAOS and temping. There's no way in hell I got this wrong. Am clinging to hope I ovulated twice that cycle, with the extra at CD7 (bollocks, methinks), as the alternative is that my disgusting BMI is resulting in gigantic baby as foretold.

I don't want a giant baby! Sad

On the plus side, I asked in the ante-natal clinic, and they said so long as I don't have any other issues, just the BMI one, I may be allowed to give birth in the midwife led unit. But it depends on what the consultant says... or rather, which one I get. (Grr).

So, to sum up:

Good: Peanut ok, all bits there, might be allowed in midwife led unit (oh, and got all my pics free! Grin

Bad: up to 5 weeks til get results back- can't really announce til then, Peanut bigger than expected, oh, and notes on scan form saying my BMI made scan technically difficult (thanks for that).

JamRagRolyPoly · 21/02/2012 17:28

That's great news rusulka Smile I guess it's better the baby is a bit bigger than too small? Glad everything is where it should be x

Rusulka · 21/02/2012 17:46

Not for my hoo-ha it isn't, Jam lol.

Maisie55 · 21/02/2012 17:58

Hi all, catching up on everyone's news, congratulations berries that's great news!!

Rusulka, glad the scan went well and all is well with the baby, for what its worth they got my dates wrong by a week with ds and lo and behold he arrived a week early so I wouldn't worry too much about the dates. I can understand your concerns about the size but try not to worry, I've heard great stories of large babies having straightforward deliveries and tiny babies needing more help, there's no way of knowing how it will go, but generally speaking I'd say the bigger the baby the stronger and healthier it will be!!

I had meant to say earlier that my lp has been 10/11 days for last few cycles before conceiving so if anyone is concerned about short lp's, it does happen!!

I have just booked first mw appt for next week, doc reckons I'm 8 weeks on fri but I think only 7 as had long cycles and ov'd day 22 ish, but they won't listen to that so will have to wait til scan.

Anyway, big wave to everyone else and hope you're all doing ok whatever stage you're all in.

JamRagRolyPoly · 21/02/2012 18:20

Feeling like I'm out already, been having cramps most of today. Checked my period tracker app and last month AF came on cd26. I'm now on cd25 so cramps are right on time Sad

Lilliana · 21/02/2012 18:53

Rusulka so pleased all is ok with bean. I wouldn't worry about the size and I'm sure your bmi wouldn't affect it anyway. Babies are not machines that grow at definate times and rates however much midwives would like to think they are.
My cousin is a size 6 and had a 10lb 2 baby!!!! Ouch Grin on the other hand another friend kept being told that she had a huge baby and she ended up being 7lb when she was born. I conclude that they don't have a clue unless it is written on a chart. Good news on the mat unit, hope you get a sympathetic consultant.

Jam you know it's not over until the hag sings ...

Maisie glad things are going well, keep us updated with how you are getting on.

iloveberries · 21/02/2012 19:08

Thanks for all the congrats and great to hear the peanut is well rusulka. Good news that you may be able to be in a MWLU too. fingers crossed.

Jam - hello, feel for you with AF coming, why can't she just fuck off and leave you alone. bitch. BUT as mooley loves to say, it's not over till the hag whore appears!!

mooley - any more testing coming along? x

Discolite · 21/02/2012 19:42

Berries!!! I'm truly delighted for you, you were so down earlier and now it's worked! Whoop!

My scan was good news in that the sonographer could see the gestational sac and the yolk sac but the embryo was refusing to be seen! She didn't seem worried, just said there was a restricted view. I had to go out midscan to go to the loo but even an empty bladder didn't do the trick! I've got another scan in ten days to see if the embryo is willing to be seen. I was a bit worried about blighted ovum but I looked it up when I got home and apparently yolk sacs can't be seen with blighted ovum so fingers crossed that embryo is just hiding. I also found an old thread here with lots of women who've had the same thing as me today and then went on to see a heartbeat at the next scan...

Rusulka glad your scan went well. The blood test result does seem an awful long time though, that's vexing. And I know what you mean about dating - i'm apparently 5 weeks by sac measurements which is total bollocks as if I count back 5 weeks, that's when I ovulated...extending it logically further it also meant I had a positive pregnancy test on what would have been 'CD12' which as I said before - bollocks! I know when I ovulated therefore I know I'm 6+5. Hilariously the community midwife would say I'm 7+4 so there we go with a nice range of dates! Also bad luck at the lack of countersinking, that's an annoying thing to have to crawl around and redo...

I think dating on scans is a bit hit and miss to be honest and I wouldn't worry about it too much. I also don't think you'll have a giant baby, remember you're only a third of the way in, there's a lot of time for things to even out.

Jam your kittens sound lovely! My cat is black and white too and I got him when he was about 5 months. I remember him looking mostly like a miniature adult cat, sweet...less sweet was his trick of mountaineering up the back of my jeans whilst I washed up, ouch! I'm glad your kittens get to go out, cats love the outdoors so much in my experience. As for your cramps, it could be AF or it could be your uterus stretching - you just don't know! I've got a hot water bottle to try and ease my cramps, doesn't seem to be working sadly!

Lil I've never really wanted to go to Vegas but your description of your room has made me eager to go all of a sudden! How did your outfit go down?

Moo good luck with the knitting! I videoed my sister casting on last week as she has a better method than the one my mum taught us, hopefully I can use it soon. I feel your knitting pain, I did three rows of 73 stitches of moss stitch before I noticed I hadn't moved the wool back or forth properly so I got mardy and unravelled the lot. I also got a bit superstitious all of a sudden... I've only knitted scarves (and one teddy bear) before now so to attempt something proper is a bit daunting!

iloveberries · 21/02/2012 20:09

Thanks disco - glad your scan went well too. Cheeky little baby hiding ;) You'll have one who loves hide and seek like my DS!

Vegas is amazing. I NEVER wanted to go (looking back i was a real snob about it) but we went a couple of years ago and i LOVED IT! It was like disneyland for adults - with booze. AWESOME. Infact, that whole corner of the US is pretty cool with all the parks.
