As we share this journey!

OP posts:
MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 31/01/2012 20:19

Oh festie so sorry that both you and your DD are having a rough time of it but pleased that everything is going well with the pg Grin

Laura yes you need to temp at the same time (or as close to) every morning and before you do anything - do not move, drink, get up to wee....nothing! I put my thermometer on my bedside table or under my pillow!!

Maisie I have done my fair share of ranting in the past and present so please do not apologise, that's what we are here for!!

dee I am too Envy of Discos dog!!! I LOVE dogs and want to get an Eng,ish Setter but DH not too convinced! I also would love either implantation or breakthrough bleeding; am not fussed which it is! I promise to keep you all updated.

DH and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary tonight even though it's tomorrow but we are at the dentist Grin. We have only been married 10 months though (he took his sweet time proposing). I have been unnecessarily irritable tonight. Am sure AF is waiting in the wings!

DeeLite · 31/01/2012 20:39

Moo my message about your spotting didn't make sense. As I think you've worked out, I meant to say that I think yours is breakthrough / implantation bleeding. It sounds so like what me, Disco, Rusulka have all had. I just can't believe that tiny teeny brown spotting = AF. I also can't believe you're having a 20+ day LP. Won't you please go to the doctor for a blood test? Sorry, I know it's not my business but I'm so hopeful for you.

Meanwhile, congrats on your anniversary. Bad planning with the dental appointment!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 31/01/2012 20:47

Dee of course it is your business! You guys have more right to ask things of me than my own family........ You know far much more Grin I'm going to give it til Saturday and if still no idea of what's happening then I am booking in next week! Think part of me just feels that by now I should have either AF or a BFP and so therefore I didn't ov and I'm not pg. do t remotely feel pg either!!

DeeLite · 31/01/2012 20:59

Good - glad I came out with it then!

If it helps, I don't feel remotely pg either. I didn't get any symptoms on my previous pregnancy until seven weeks so I don't really put too much faith in symptom spotting not that that stopped me from ss obsessively every fourth week of the last six months.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 31/01/2012 21:31

Dee can I ask what sort of symptoms you have/had. The only thing that's odd with me is the sorely boobs and occasional cramping which could be my IBS!!

Maisie55 · 31/01/2012 21:47

Hi dee, thanks for the positive thinking!! I'm 9or 10 days dpo I think and for the last two cycles af has arrived within 11 days so really is imminent if its coming. I know the old mantra that its not over til the old hag whore shows her face so I shall try and stay hopeful!! Glad to hear you're not feeling horribly sick or anything!!

DeeLite · 01/02/2012 06:41

Ooh, it's really crunch time for you Maisie. Best of luck.

Moo my boobs are a little sore and a tiny bit lumpy but I breastfed my DS so it's normal that I'd have lumpy boobs second time around. Apart from that, I feel a tiny bit bloated and my back gets a bit tired if I stand for absolute ages but that's it. No tiredness or other symptoms and judging from my last experience of pregnancy, I don't expect any for about a week.

Lilliana · 01/02/2012 07:17

Festie sorry to hear about your DD, glad all is ok with her and your pregnancy is going well.

Disco I'm sure all will be fine but good news you got an appointment so quickly. (and you'll have a gorgeous puppy to keep you busy and your mind off worrying!)

Congrats on the anniversary Moo

Any newsmaisie?

I was expecting a temp rise today but hasn't arrived. Not sure if the temperature is affecting it as it is bloody freezing in our bedroom. Confused I have been known (once) to ov at CD17 but 14 is the usual. Guess I'll keep swi until the end of the week as planned and cover all bases.

coveredinflour · 01/02/2012 07:41

Hello everyone, just a quickie as I hate typing on my teeny tiny phone. Will respond properly later!

Just wanted to say that what Dee and Disco mentioned yesterday about alcohol having an impact on fertility is absolutely right (but not that its the deciding factor).
Am a bit of a geek so have been buying and reading everything out there about getting pg (makes me feel productive and in control) and one of them cited a study where even 4 units a week reduced chance of conception by a significant margin (think it might have been 20%!).

Also caffeine, stress and various sweeteners and even sugar apparently can impact. Obviously no need to go crazy but i'm trying to cut these things down/out.
(except work is being super stressful resulting in me having palpitations and panic attack on the train home last night. Now worried am too stressed to conceive - ironic, no?)

Exercise is supposed to help our chances, especially yoga and pilates. (sadly no time to go to gym thanks to work craziness but need to rectify that). I've also got a list of micro nutrients that are supposed to help.

Hope that's useful. If anyone wants book recommendations let me know, though i'm sure most of you will already have your own library! :-)

Ps - still nothing on the OV test. Think I must have missed it... Will try a different tactic next month!

Have a lovely day ladies, with lots of bf positive thoughts!

Maisie55 · 01/02/2012 08:00

Morning all, well af not here yet but still convinced its all over as had pains all night, couldn't temp this morning as was up all night with ds, not holding out much hope ladies, will check in later, have a good day everyone.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 01/02/2012 08:31

Morning ladies, not really much to report here; same old same old! Just thought i'd pop my head in to see how we are all doing.

Maisie remember, until that hag whore arrives in force, it is far from over. I had bad cramps with my spotting and it never got any worse, so no coloured discharge is a good thing. Grin

Flour I am starting Yoga tonight on my Wii, fx'd that it helps!!

Festie hope your DD is feeling better today!

eaglewings · 01/02/2012 08:42

Morning ladies, been sulking in the loos for a while.

Thanks for the tips on caffeine, sugar and alcohol. Guess I'll need to cut down further. What's on the trolley today? Can I have a bacon roll and decaf tea?

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 01/02/2012 09:04

eagle we also have a wide selection of Yoga DVDs, TTC books, gym passes and pee sticks!! Please help yourself.

Bluetinkerbell · 01/02/2012 09:34

I threw my nice Brew up this morning :) is that a good sign Wink

festiemum · 01/02/2012 09:41

Thanks moo - dd much better today. Cut her inhalers right back already.

Had a MEGA sleep yesterday and feel a bit more human today!

Also, nausea has set in today. Major retching all the way through the school run! Feel good about that though - means the bean is growing!

lil - ambient temperature shouldn't affect your bbt. Unless you temp orally and you sleep with your mouth open - hence why I switched to noo noo temping!

maisie hope the witch is staying away!

Ah, bacon roll and tea eagle - sounds fab! Kicking myself cos I didn't buy any bacon this week cos dh is on a strict diet! :(

Hope everyone else is well this morning!

festiemum · 01/02/2012 09:42

blue that is an amazingly good sign!!!

When do you test?! :)

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 01/02/2012 09:47

Blue sounds great! I say test, test, test (but then I am obsessed with testing!) Grin

Bluetinkerbell · 01/02/2012 09:47

in a week... I don't know whether it is coincidence or not. I have this horrible cough again, which I had 2 weeks ago for almost 2 weeks and it did make me choke and splutter a lot back then, but not to the point where I threw up.
I do get symptoms very early on, I had it with my 2 previous pregnancies and tested early which were always negative... so I know I just have to wait it out a bit longer!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 01/02/2012 10:57

Ok ladies I think I have finally lost it.

My OPks arrived today (I am trying to be positive about the next cycle, even though I have never ever got even a hint of a positive on them).

Anyway, I have not drank much this morning, so I thought, what the heck, I'll POAOS and see what happens. Well the test line is as dark as the control line, not quite darker, but definitely as dark. Does this mean it's positive?? More importantly, does this mean i am ov'ing??

I would have been much happier if this was a BFP, but a BFOP will have to do for now i suppose. Best get cracking with the old SWI tonight.

Seems I am not pg after all though. At least I am ov'ing Grin

Bluetinkerbell · 01/02/2012 11:02

woohoo for ov! same for me Moo this cycle was the first time I had a positive opk :)

contemplating whether to use my CBD tomorrow morning...

festiemum · 01/02/2012 11:21

Ahem, moo - can I just point you in the direction of this very interesting article?!

opks as hpts

Interesting reading, I'm sure you'll agree!

Wow blue that does sound very positive, particularly since you've had very early symptoms before! Bummer you're going to have to wait another week to test though!

Discolite · 01/02/2012 11:26

Moo, you do know that Opks can also detect HCG?
Just a thought.....

on phone at work so will do a proper post later but started red/brown spotting at 6am, nothing else until. 11am and it's brown now so feeling a bit happier. This is stressful though!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 01/02/2012 11:38

Aaaaaaaaaargh!! Damn it!! Erm, but it does also say not to use them instead of a HPT (i don't have any more HPTs).
However, she also says this:

Most importantly, OPK's are not purified as well as HPT's are. Therefore, they are more prone to "errors" and positives do not always mean that either LH or hCG was detected. In other words . . . they're simply cheaper, shoddier tests

Oh crikey! That's thrown a spanner in the works. I think to play safe though i will go with ov as that's what they are meant to detect.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 01/02/2012 11:40

Oh and disco meant to say sorry about the spotting. If it gets any worse, call the docs and see if you can get a scan arranged......just for piece of mind.

Rusulka might be along in a bit, as she's gone through something similar, and everything is ok, then she might be able to help.

thinking of you :)

festiemum · 01/02/2012 11:43

Oh disco - I know you're bound to worry, but if it is just spotting and it's slowing down, then it's almost certainly a breakthrough bleed. Xxxxxxxx
