sweetie I think you can definitely push for a referral, given you're over the magic age of 35. Bear in mind that even if you're referred, it could be 4-6 months before you actually get to see anyone anyway, so you'd have your extra cycles to try as well :)
We're now at the 12 month stage but DH is still happy that this is ?normal?. I think he will be happy to be referred in 6 months, but don't think he'll be in agreement before then. (I mean, lets face it ? who really wants to be labelled ?sub fertile?? Not very manly, that). I am 27 and he is 31.
however I've had some loooong cycles and at least one cycle (July) where I didn't ovulate (was very ill) so I reckon this will actually only be our 8th cycle ttc. Which I try to remind myself of, but it still feels like it's been forever.

That's really interesting about the clomid, far. A lot of women I've read about on MN seem to get pg straight after finishing clomid, too, so I wonder if it's also cumulative? Maybe it kick starts stuff in some women.
