I've next to no chance of conceiving this cycle as I'm ovulating now but get married at the weekend (we're TTC as of then) but I thought I'd say hi before starting on earnest next month unless sperm was living in me waiting for my coil to come out on Tues and made a dash for an egg and I'm actually pregnant now

Welcome, Mistress, and Waiting, and congratulations on the wedding for the weekend. How exciting! Are you going on honeymoon straight after? Often a good time to get pregnant!

Huge congratulations to Maccy, wow!

Elizadoesdolittle · 08/12/2011 14:48

Huge congrats on your BFP Maccy.

Welcome waitingfor me and have a wonderful wedding. Very exciting!

Well not much news my end. I'm slowly starting to drive myself mad with this ttc business and we've not really been trying too long! I think it's cos I feel so out of control with it all. Feeling totally convinced that I won't get a BFP this month considering DH and I have hardly seen each other due to work things/xmas do's and doesn't help that he will be away most of next week.

But not to put a dampner on things I am getting into the xmas spirit. Put our tree up today and been writing xmas cards. Am pretty much done with my xmas shopping so am going to start wrapping presents. I love doing that. I am very lucky I have my DD to run me ragged keep my spirits up so just going to concentrate on making this xmas a special one for her and partake in a few cherrys for myself Xmas Smile

I think I'm gong to treat myself to a CBFM next cycle so hopefully that will help me feel like I'm taking charge a bit more and may also join the irregular's amongst us in going to the doctors.

Have a great weekend all.

mrsmellow · 08/12/2011 20:26

Thanks ss I'm not worried yet -come March (the cut off in my head!) I might make an appointment..
Wow waiting so exciting - have a wonderful wedding weekend and then it's Christmas - what an exciting time for you! Smile
eliza I finished my Christmas cards yesterday (virtuous Xmas Smile ) - but have some way to go on the Christmas shopping. My sis lives in the US and is coming home so I've ordered some stuff for her to carry - may need to pay her excess baggage too, but will still have saved some cash Xmas Grin !
Just always find men harder to shop for -my Dad has everything already!

Cannot wait for end of tomorrow...

83BumbleBee · 08/12/2011 21:14

Hey ladies, alright to hop aboard?

83BumbleBee · 08/12/2011 21:18

Doh! Im not 29! Im 28! Sorry, i have a bad habit of saying my next age a few months before my birthday and then i automatically think im that age! Oops!

cherrypiew3 · 08/12/2011 22:25

Welcome NewbiesSmile

Af is due tomorrow is anybody else due over the weekend if so when are you thinking of testing.

On the christmas shopping topic so far I have not done very much and really need to get a move on with it.

Hope all you Ladies are having a lovely evening.

penguinpenguin · 08/12/2011 22:31

Can anyone clarify this for me - when does 2WW start??? Is it from when you DTD or from OV?

Thanks for any replies Xmas Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/12/2011 09:22

Haha bumblebee, I do that as well. Makes a nice surprise when you realise you aren't as old as you thought. Need all the help when you get to my age!

Penguin, I think it's from ov but am sure someone else who is a bit more tuned into these things than me can confirm.

mrsmellow · 09/12/2011 11:04

I think the 2ww is from when you ov (if you know when that is!)

Very blue and grumpy today (pretty sure AF is on her way, usually have mood dips for that)... On the upside, will be able to drink over Christmas making family more tolerable Blush

Squirrel77 · 09/12/2011 12:51

Hi all,

Congrats to the BFPs and commiserations to those for whom AF has paid an unwelcome visit...

Does anyone have any advice? Xmas Confused

DH and I SWI-ed on last night and the night before, but still no clear signs of ovulation, although I have a feeling it might happen tomorrow. I think he's completely worn out from all the shagging (as am I, TBH!). I thought I would ovulate today and said to him last night that doing it tonight might be too late...so I think he thinks it's all done for the month...

How can I seduce him for one last time tonight? Last night's session was decidedly un-romantic. He is on late shift and doesn't get home til 11:30, but which time I'm pretty tired. I just don't know what to do, as I don't want to miss out on the egg!

As you can see I've gone a bit completely mad! I don't want him to feel like he's a sperm donor but want him to get the message it's really important that the timing is right....arrghhh - advice welcome....

mrsmellow · 09/12/2011 14:59

Hey squirrel
From what I understand, sperm lasts for up to 3 days in the womb, so if it is there, it will still be there tonight and you don't have to dtd on the day of ovulation. I think you should take it easy tonight and have a lazy morning in bed tomorrow and one thing may well lead to another - and the sperm tomorrow will also have another chance. In fact from what I understand, even if you don't have sex until tomorrow night, the egg should still be wandering down the fallopian tube looking for something fun to do and you should still have the possibility of fertilisation. It isn't a 'now or never' thing.
And having sex on demand is a bit miserable, despite what porn films try to portray!

I hope that helps! Smile

mrsmellow · 09/12/2011 15:00

why didn't my smile work? - well you get the gist!

cherrypiew3 · 09/12/2011 16:04

Squirrel I think Mrsmellow is right don't think it will hurt if you miss dtd tonight if you did it last night the sperm will still be alive and kicking in there.

Well AF due today and so far she has not turned up.

Squirrel77 · 09/12/2011 19:44

Thanks for indulging my madness and sorry for hijacking the thread with it. I'm going to try and seduce DH in a low key way (hmmm, not great at that - it's more like a shark attack) but try for tomorrow otherwise.

Cherrypie that sounds promising - fingers crossed! And MrsMellow I hope AF has stayed away from you as well!

cherrypiew3 · 09/12/2011 20:50

Sorry to hear that Cherrypie

xxhunnyxx · 09/12/2011 21:41

maccy congrats!!! It's very encouraging and exciting to see a BFP!

squirrel I wouldn't worry too much about doing it on the day of ovulation, I know when I conceived DS it was 2-3 days before ovulation, those little guys can have quite a bit of stamina! Plus the experts reckon it's better to do it alternate days rather than every day so the sperms are stronger, it's more about quality than quantity.

Well I don't think I'm up the duff this month, I'm now 10 dpo and no implantation cramps like I had with previous 2 pregnancies Sad

Can I be added to the list please?
TTC#2, cycle 1, AF due 13/14 DEC

Is it really bad of me that I'm hoping I am preggers this month so baby will be born August and therefore I would save a years worth of nursery/child minder fees? lol
I wouldn't have even thought about it before having DS1 but now I'm a woman speaking from experience

frazzled74 · 09/12/2011 21:48

hi can i join you? and can i ask anyone who uses cheapie ebay opk, i got 2 red lines yesterday and today, both as dark as each other, is this right? i thought they were only both dark for a fleeting couple of hours?

xxhunnyxx · 09/12/2011 21:53

Can I just ask a question about opk's please?
Am I correct in thinking that they show after you have ovulated? My cycles are pretty regular and I think I'm pretty good at spotting the signs so not sure if there's any point in me using them?

dameflamingo · 09/12/2011 23:04

Welcome newcomers!

Updating my stats as AF arrived today (50 days this cycle!) so I am happily moving to cycle 9 ..bring it on!! Xmas Smile

squirrel advice from the experts is sex every other day so you can happily hold off until morning without any worries.

Speaking as a person who has been trying for a while I can tell you that once I started letting my DH know about my madness concern about making sure we dtd at the right time it became more of a joint venture and I felt a lot less like I was working alone. He now keeps a log of dates and has just started updating my charts on his Ipad ( boys love apps and science it appears).

xxhunnyxx · 09/12/2011 23:10

dame aww wish my OH was so supportive. He's so laid back with everything in life, I on the other hand am not.
Once I've decided I want something, I go out and get it, unfortunately pregnancy isn't something I can buy online. He takes a much more laid back attitude of 'it'll happen when it happens'.
I should really take a leaf out of his book and chill out about it more but it's easier said than done, after all we're the ones looking for signs and analysing every twinge.
Last time I had trouble TTC I saw GP and she told me to stop trying, and she was right, as soon as we genuinely stopped trying I got pregnant.

Spuddybean · 10/12/2011 01:53

helloooo ladies

can i join you? AF due xmas day (how shit!) been away from these threads for a while as i got too disappointed!

But i'm ready to start trying again.
