Hi all! I've been a crap conductor and not posted on here for ages! Blush

Congrats to the two BFPs and spellcheck and jencd I'm sorry to hear about what you have both been through.

Well I have been eating very healthily for the past week. After the first 3 days I'd lost 6lb!! I obviously just needed a big poo when I weighed myself Blush I'm sticking to weight watchers rigidly and so far it's paying off. Need to up the exercise now.

I also bought some b6 the other day because I want to try to stop the spotting before Af but am too scared to take it at the mo because I read something about it damaging nerve endings!

On cd9 today and had to POAS for CBFM this morning and it's gone straight to high. This annoys me because there is no point me having a monitor of it means I'm having to SWI all the time "just in case" I got the damn thing to limit the number of times I have to shag increase my chance of conceiving and being high all month tells me nothing grr Angry

In the meantime I can't stop checking out maternity clothes, mentally designing the nursery, imagining next Christmas with a little baby and writing down potential names with our surname. I am well and truly obsessed Sad

whysoserious how does the cbfm work ? Used ovulation tests last month but didn't once get a positive so didn't buy them this month . Well done on your healthy eating !! 6lbs that's brilliant Grin

Squirrel77 · 06/12/2011 18:13

Hi all!

We are trying to DTD every second night at the moment (actually, I don't know if DH knows that there is a plan, but it seems to have worked that way). Once I see some fertile CM then I will jump his bones nightly, if he agrees!

Just purchased some pre seed and will report back, MrsC. I also have the ovulation tests but didn't get a clear reading from them last month, will try until they're used up.

And I'm keeping my socks on while SWI - its bloody freezing!

Chuckaluck · 06/12/2011 18:28

I am on cd16 today, been using my ovulation sticks as directed and no LJ surge yet... Getting worried I am not ovulating! Not that it matters that much as I have done something to my back and I expect I would scream in agony if i tried to do the deed with hubbie! Xmas Smile

MyDaydream · 06/12/2011 19:34

Welcome to all the new people, and well done whysoserious for the 6lb.

Ovulation at the end of the week, and had planned to do lots of SWI in the run up, but don't even get to see DP until Friday when we've ended up with the busiest day we've had in ages. A night shift and a day shift doesn't really work in these situations!

TheNewMrsC · 06/12/2011 19:41

Thanx squirrelGrin

I know how you feel daydream DH and I work shifts and as we already have DD we try to be opposite shifts so we use Babysitters as little as possible . Although I'm loving the enthusiasm and excuse ttc gives us to dtd Grin don't think we have ever done it so often in the 10 years we have been together !! Grin

aw no luck chuck hate when things get in the way of SWI Sad need to make up for it next available opportunity Smile

FloydieDoydie · 06/12/2011 19:49

Result! I got him whilst he was in the bath - always makes him horny for some reason Grin Don't know how effective it will be, but still - wet sperm is better than no sperm Blush

TheNewMrsC · 06/12/2011 20:39

Go you floydie Grin

cherrypiew3 · 07/12/2011 10:24

Get in there FloydieXmas Grin

Well AF is due on Friday and so far I have no symptoms of her but on the other hand I have no symptoms of been pregnant either.

dameflamingo · 07/12/2011 15:39

Day 48 in the big brother house and no AF but a touch of spotting and minor niggle ( I would not call it cramp) ... but before you get your knitting needles out ladies I have had 2 BFN's a week apart so definitely no pitter patter. I'm seriously considering a trip to my GP as my periods are so irregular that I am a little concerned and cannot pin down ovulation at all. The last six cycles: 28 days, 35 days, 14 days, 14 days, 36 days, 48+ days. I tried the ovulation sticks but no reassurance. What do y'all think? should I go? I know I'm supposed to wait 12 months before 'investigating' but this changes to 6 months at 35 and I'm only 6 months off that 'magic' age and am on cycle 8 ( I should behalfway through 9 by now surely!!?)

Advice opinions gratefully received - generally a woman of substance and I know my own mind but in this area I admit to being a bit terrified by how little I know and worried I may be 'wasting the GP's time' ( oh my God! I AM my mother)

I am eagerly awaiting cycle 9 ...if AF ever does turn up... Finding your SWI techniques very amusing... squirrel and her socks floydie's bathtime antics...for the record its socks on in our freezing house!

Squirrel77 · 07/12/2011 15:58

Hi Flamingo - I say DO IT! Those cycles are all over the place, and any decent GP would want to investigate, even for non-fertility reasons, as having a 14 day cycle is worth investigating even if you weren't trying for a baby. The sooner you see a GP the quicker you can get referred, and if you get upduffed in the meantime, that'd be great. I am waiting for a gynaecology appointment at the moment which is driving me nu-u-u-uts. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Also, not wanting to sound like I'm obessed with TTC or anything but have you tried charting? More accurate than OPKs I think - OPKs just don't work for some people.

Glad to hear the socks are amusing! I just got a positive OPK and am feeling rather randy so perhaps I'll put on some special stripey knee high elf socks to woo DH tonight! He knows about the OPK so is hopefully girding his loins (metaphorically speaking) at the office. Poor man, I intend to jump his bones tomorrow morning as well, which is a very rare occurrence, I'm worried he'll complain he is 'too old' for all of this sex, like he did a couple of months ago!

MistressofPemberley · 07/12/2011 17:50

Hi. I'm a latecomer. Was lurking, but today felt the need to post to help me through the 2ww.
I'm ttc %232. 1 DS (3). 2 mcs since he was born. AF due 16th dec.
Not sure if we DTD at the right time. Had a week of EWCM (unheard of) and ended up SWI on first day and penultimate day (with a 4 day gap due to sheer exhaustion on both of our parts!) So not sure when I OVd and if we nailed it, so to speak.
Been taking vitamin c, b complex, zinc, and magnesium supplement. plus folic. Not feeling anything at all symptom wise, but then I have felt phantom symptoms in other cycles so I'm not falling for that again!
Will try to tempt fate by buying Ov pee sticks for next month.
Keep dreaming of babies.
Hello all Smile

xxhunnyxx · 07/12/2011 18:06

Hi all! Well it's been just over 3 years since I have been on the conception forums but I'm back but hopefully not for too long (no offense).
I struggled to conceive DS and we were trying for about a year and typically got successful once we had stopped trying due to problems with the relationship and then later s
3 years on and I'm in a new relationship n we've decided the time is right to have a baby of our own, we've not been very careful over the past few months but none of our accidents have ever resulted in a baby so I'm worried i might have difficulties TTC again.
I just wanted to ask those ladies who have had more than 1 pregnancy before...do you still get implantation cramps once you've had a baby?
I'm wondering because my period pains aren't as bad now and I keep looking out for implantation cramps which I had a little of last time but then get disheartened when I don't feel them.

Spellcheck · 07/12/2011 19:11

Ahhh, so refreshing to come on here and see I'm normal!! Been using my special pants combined with over-the-knee socks to seduce DP, works every time. We've been at it like rabbits this week, amazing, but exhausting, and slightly less fun knowing it's for a reason iyswim. Nice one floydie by the way!

Been obsessively using ovulation sticks for last 5 days, and nothing. Cycle normally 27 days, I know I definitely conceived DS on day 11, and DD2 on day 10, I'm on day 13 now and nada. Though did have a slightly darker line than on any other day yesterday. Do you think it's possible I ovulated before the sticks could detect LH? Or (after reading all your comments) are they just crap?!

xxhunnyxx I had implantation cramps with all 5 of my pregnancies, but to varying degrees, ie hardly any with 2nd, massively with 5th, and had implantation bleeding with some but not all. So in my experience it varies! I had hardly any symptoms with 3rd pregnancy until morning sickness at 7 weeks. Thought test must be wrong. But yes, period pains all but stopped after I'd had my first.

flamingo it definitely won't hurt to go to GP, as the others say they'd probaby want to see you anyway just to be sure nothing's wrong. You won't be wasting their time, but you might be wasting yours if you know what I mean - I'm 38 and very conscious of time ticking by! That sounded negative, I didn't mean it to, but if you have irregular cycles you've got more grounds to visit GP than someone who's regular, surely?

Good luck everyone, so, so good to know I'm not alone! Xmas Smile

PS whysoserious well done on 6lb!

MaccyH · 07/12/2011 20:20

After the BFN last week but still no sign of AF, did another test this morning and got a BFP! Then did another to make sure and still BFP. Been in shock all day as had convinced myself it wasn't happening after last week's test result.

TBH, had not had any of the traditional signs like sore boobs, metallic taste, sickness only 2 possible hints now I look back which were increased sensitivity to caffeine - don't normally drink coffee and went totally buzzy after 1 cup and also a little bit of bleeding after sex last week.

Anyway, need to get my head around the fact it is all real now though doing another test tomorrow to be really sure! Hope there is good news for everyone else soon :)

dameflamingo · 07/12/2011 21:29

wow MaccyH smashing news! Hooray!!!!

cherrypiew3 · 07/12/2011 21:36

Maccyh Congratulations Smile

Dame I would go see your GP I had problems with my cycles this time last year for 3 months so not has long as you but I still went along they were very understanding.

Still no AF sign here really wanting to POAS but trying my best to hold out.

penguinpenguin · 07/12/2011 22:42

Maccy fab news Xmas Grin

jencd · 08/12/2011 08:50

Congratulations Maccy!!! How exciting! Good luck! x

I did a test this morning too and got a BFN followed two minutes later by AF! (glad I wasted 10 quid! not :( )

That was the end of a 56 day cycle... surely that's not normal! I wasn't surprised not to conceive as we are moving house and DH went though a stressful court case coupled with the busiest time of the year for him work wise but I am now very concerned about my cycles too!

I've had since I came off the pill in June a 44 day, 47 day, 38 day and now this whopping 56 day cycle! Does having very long cycles mean you're not ovulating properly? Is there any point in using the sticks with cycles like this?

flamingo I'm off to the doctors too... they'll probably just tell us to relax and wait and see. I'm contemplating lying bending the truth to the doctor about how long we've been trying to see if I can get some tests done to check everythings OK.

After my MC two years ago I really feel that I've been patient and grieved and done everything the doctors told me to do to get to a happier place to start trying again... why can't I just get preggers quickly now?!!!

On the plus side, at least i can enjoy a festive cherry or two on Christmas day!

jencd · 08/12/2011 09:03

appointment booked for 19th Dec! will let you know how it goes!

It's lovely having the forum to discuss these things with, I don't really want to tell my friends and family we're trying yet but it's driving me nuts these things!

dameflamingo · 08/12/2011 09:54

I have started a chart and booked an appointment, its the day after yours jen, will feed back too. Thanks all for advice.

jencd I imagine we will get the same 'relax' message. I considered bending the truth a little too... I'm only 3 months off the 'we'll pay serious attention now' time and cherrypie I'm sure you're right and they'll be great - in fairness to GP I have chosen not to go rather than had any negative experience.

squirrel77 knee high elf socks? I've got to get a pair of those!

So then, a small pre-Chrimbo sherry for those who have just had AF...a blackforest hot choc for those on the dreaded 2ww...and a round of 'tis the season to be jolly' echoes out around the carriage.

Am feeling very festive today - may even haul the old decorations out of the loft this weekend.

jencd · 08/12/2011 10:34

lol - just saw i wrote a festive 'cherry!' deffo will be having something a little bit stronger than a glazed red berry!

feel great for booking the appointment... positivity is the key!

mrsmellow · 08/12/2011 11:23

Congrats to the bfp ers...

I'm cycle day 32, last two cycles were 43 and 39 days so no idea what to expect, and really have only been off the pill since August, so very early days... but just want someone to tell me it is normal and will be alright - or that it isn't but there is something that can be done!
I don't know whether to test or not, DH thinks we should wait until 6 weeks if AF doesn't come, but he's clearly not as obsessed as I am! I gave myself the date of the 16th December to wait until, but it's driving me nuts.. only another 8 days...

jencd - let us know what the Doctor says, I think I'm following in your footsteps! Cherrys ahoy... Wink

On a more positive note, tomorrow is Friday - we're having a non-alcoholic Christmas lunch at work and then it is the weekend... Smile
