Sue am loving the idea of your wine and even thinking it would be nice to have DH here too Choccy so I could sniff his! Could definitely do with the ?edge taking off? effect of a nice drink right now. Am just back at Nan's from the hospital and she is going to be there until at least Monday (no consultants over the weekend) so I am actually going to go home tomorrow for some much needed distraction. Other than that it's an exhausted Friday evening on my own with a bowl of porridge for dinner.

I have a big dinner with friends arranged for the night of my scan on the 3rd so that will be a weird one. Even if it?s inconclusive I will still not be able to drink and I think, as they all know I have had two mcs this year and am undergoing this treatment, it will be a bit hard to tell them I am not pregnant. I really don?t want to tell them though as I know it might not happen and people are duty bound/so used to saying ?congratulations?. Am thinking of calling the girls in the group up after the scan and saying this is the situation.

Ari, definitely book a trip for DH?s birthday! We can?t put our lives on hold and we need things like that to look forward to.

I feel a bit better about the fact that you can feel pregnant and it still not work out. Well, I don?t feel happy about it as that is hideous too but I take the point about not feeling pregnant not necessarily being a bad thing. Sometimes I feel pregnant, sometimes I don?t. I am at the exact stage last time that the sac stopped growing at and a foetus never was seen. I keep saying GROW BABY GROW and hoping it makes an appearance this time.

Iggi am rather excited about the Dopplar! How is it going??

Scooter amazing news on the scan, you must be so bloody relieved! A heartbeat is so wonderful.

Oh my appointment at St Marys is on Tuesday and I am not sure what to do. I have called them but never been able to get through. Obviously I am pregnant so (not yet anyway) recurrently miscarrying. I guess I will have to go along and tell them if I can?t manage to do so before on the phone. Any thoughts?

free I can tell you about my limited at marys experience. Firstly they sent me two forms a month apart so I tried to call a number of times but never got through either. When I went on 01 nov for my appointment they didn't have any forms I had posted back so luckily I had a photocopy. After 3 hour wait I had scan and eventually saw dr raj rai. He was ok. Nothing particularly to say apart from saying he wanted to do a hysteroscopy in jan. Totally missed the polycystic ovaries though. I got a couple of extra blood tests for god knows what then left. Not a dicky bird heard since until this morning some one calling saying I had appointment for tuesday morning for my pre op consultation for op in jan! Not much notice and why a pre op 2 mths before. Guess what I'm saying is - go along if only to get a scan and into the system - take a book and some water and don't expect too much. They will scan u every other week so you may as well alternate with dr s scans and have them weekly. Hope that helps. If u miss this app it may not matter but u would kick yourself if u wished u had gone. A morning of your life. I think nk cells is like homeopathy to GP's they can't officially have an opinion. Hope this insight of mine helps. X

Iggi how do u like the Doppler? Must admit mine has been the best money I've ever spent, was reluctant to get one but as long as u use it sparingly I think it's great.

free PB and nuts generally are fine as far as I'm concerned, unless you're allergic of course. Guidance was changed a couple of years ago after studies showed no evidence that babies developed allergies/asthma etc if the mother ate peanuts during pg. Allergies are more likely to arise if there's family history. This is good for me as I'm partial to a PB sandwich!

Still a tiny bit discoloured when I wipe but I'm not going to get too concerned about that. I don't think I've lost a period's worth of blood over the past days, iykwim, so am trying to remain neutral. Roll on next Saturday...

Morning Ladies, apologies I haven't been able to log in for a couple of days so apologies as I haven't completely caught up.

Free I think hair dye is fine if it is semi permanent. I opted for Aveda which is meant to be all good and organic. I have just had my barnet done so hope it is ok :). There is no way I could last 9 months without it, I would look like a badger. Good luck with you appointment at St Marys. I am going to go back to them now as the CRGH have let me go now I am at 12 weeks so feeling a little lonesome and norma no mates. I just want to have someone monitor me till 20 weeks if I can.

Iggi how is the doppler? I have toyed with idea but DH not keen :( When I got told yesterday at my midwife appointment I wouldn't be scanned between 12 and 20 weeks I panicked. That seems like an eternity. Yesterday was the first time I have ever made it to midwife appointment, I was very emotional and luckily she was lovely and very understanding unlike the EPU there so am happy. Are you completely off the roids now? I am on 10 as of tomorrow.

Ari happy to hear your hcg levels went up, that waiting must of been absolute torture. Try and stay sane till your scan, keeping everything x for you.

Digi - My scan is with the NHS, my hospital at KX didn't do nuchal scans which is a shame as I would of liked to stay with them a bit longer. They have given me my meds which I have now pretty much come off apart from roids and progesterone which they told me to take until 18 weeks.

Waves to everyone this cold Saturday morning. I have updated list, I seemed to be one day out, I am now 12 + 2. Scan is at 0815 on Monday morning, I feel sick to the stomach thinking about it. I have always looked at my friends announcement scans and wondered if I will ever get there. I am so scared it is another MMC, I now have visible bump but worry nature will do its cruel joke on me again. Sorry, feeling sorry for myself rant there. Sending lots of happy thoughts to everyone today, we will stay strong and dream about the semi clad butlers in our cocoon house. x

free my experience with St Marys was also not great as they lost my test results and didn't seem that bothered to help me. They offered me a hysteroscopy too which I decided not to go for as dont want them messing around with me and was worried about any complications. I dont have much faith in them after only offering me aspirin and then miscarrying.

Brownie you are bound to feel anxious but at least you are one stage closer to getting a baby!

I only ended up having 2 glasses of wine last night as fell asleep on the sofa! What a lightweight! I am not used to drinking anymore!
Still haven't OVd so god knows what is going on with me!

hopeful you must feel so relieved to finally have your diagnosis. I know I did. It confirmed my suspicions and I wasn't surprised at all. I also think you're doing the right thing having a couple of months off before ttc-ing again, you're very lucky to have time on your side so make the most of a stress-free Xmas!

free pb and nuts are fine. Supposedly you're meant to avoid if you or your partner have a history of allergies (eg asthma etc). Re: St marys - it's great if they'll accept you so you can double up your scans alongside Mr S's scans. However I'm not sure they will do any tests if you're pg at your first appt. You may as well turn up and try and get the teg test done (if it comes back abnormal they'll up your aspirin from 75mg to 150mg).

brownie best of luck for Monday. Are you having combined nuchal and bloods or just the nuchal? Looking forward to graduating you up to the next trimester on our list.

sue sorry your still waiting on an egg I know that feeling all too well. Actually found wine helped quite a lot. If you're desperate I have some leftover Chinese egg hatching potion in my cupboard. Worked a treat with me!

Morning all, well it's a BFP for me this cycle and out of the game this month . Last pred yesterday morning so now waiting for the comedown-hope it's not too bad. Can't believe symptoms on it though as had quite a few signs of pregnancy!...still feel sicky this morning. Put on a few pounds so have to get exercising in next couple of weeks. Wishing I wasn't so bloody old and had more time.

Sorry to hear that snoopy... Ironically I get pg symptoms coming up to bfn/AF on Pred but no pg symptoms when supposedly pg and lots of the others seem to have the same experience. The whole thing is a head fuck so I'll repeat the advice given to me and say maybe try not to put too much emphasis on symptoms. The flip side is that as I think you're still only 15dpo(?) if AF doesn't arrive on time I'd suggest you test again just in case. You could then get back on the Pred ASAP if you needed to.

Urgh I have just been to the loo and saw some blood-like stuff stuff, what on earth is going on? Adding this to the fact that I couldn't get a hb on my new doppler yesterday, and I think I have to assume the worst. Can't tell anyone here.

Oh iggi why does this have to be so bloody nervewracking. hope your ok. don't forget I would think you have to be quite proficient don't you to get a hb with a doppler. i have never used one but sonographers have been trained to use them so try not to panic too much, see how it goes today. xx

Yes full steam ahead for Dec x

iggi at your stage if the baby is in the "wrong" position you won't hear it. When was last scan - surely a week or so ago. In 2nd trimester it will take a lot longer for blood if baby in trouble. With my 2nd mc I found out hour Heart had stopped - even 1 week later there was no bleeding or signs then I had Erpc. So v v v unlikely the bit of blood is anything bad. You r kind of in the discover at scan stage now. Downside of having a Doppler( I know I've one in box under my bed) but wish I was of the nature not to have one . Great for extra reassurance - hideous if baby moves. X

iggi I'm so sorry you're having this worry. If you're bleeding and you're worried about hb you're well within your rights to either head down to a&e or call your mw who should be able to book you in for a scan/monitoring tomorrow. The bleeding is most likely nothing to worry about - possibly cervical irritation - have you had sex recently? Or been constipated? Apologies for tmi - but both those things can cause spotting.
The Hb thing is most likely because baby is so little and there's still quite a bit of room for them to swim about so they keep dodging the Doppler. Most mw's don't do the first Doppler check till 15/16 weeks - and even then it can take ages for them to find it.
Sending you lots of hugs. Don't torment yourself with what ifs - please try and get someone to check you over.

snoopy sorry to hear it's another bfn. Hopefully this next cycle will be the one - would make a lovely Christmas present. I did plenty of drinking and celebrating in my bfp cycle - was at a Sten (stag/hen) do at 6dpo which involved running around like a loon for two hours playing party games. Then a wine tasting session. Then champers and Brie.

Major excitement in the digi household - we have a new tv. Despite working in tv for the past 15 years we've only just upgraded from cathode ray tube to LED flatscreen. Managed to convince dh that the extra space is much needed.

Iggi please don't read to much into not hearing the hb, I have only just started to be able to hear it through mine for the last week or so and I'm 25 weeks and even then it's not always there as it's very hard to find, try to listen out for the little jumps and hiccups instead at your stage. try not to panic but if you are concerned, that together with any red should warrant you being able to have a scan surely? I would contact your MW tomorrow, I'm sure everything is fine but this pregnancy is so precious to you so it is their duty to look after your wishes xxx
Well sorry if TMI but I finally gave in to my sexually frustrated self last night and DH and I had sex twice !!! OMG first time since we got a BFP, it felt like our first time !!!! Then DH says what if u get pg again, now I did laugh at him but have since thought, this isn't possible at my stage is it??? I no ur all probably laughing at me but I was genuinely worried !!! Had a little bit of spotting afterwards but I guess anyone, even if not PG would spot after not having sex for 6 months !!!!

Iggi how are you feeling this afternoon? Any better? I think pregnancy is bound to narurally come with the occasional bit of spotting or goo. When you think of everything that is happening up there. The others are right re the Doppler too. It is still very early days. Digi didn't you too have a bit if spotting after s with no i? I actually got some s with no i out of the way this weekend too. I think it's all something we all find nerve-racking. But I was also thinking that from an immune pov it might be a good thing to continue doing!

I noticed I had some urethra twinges last night so peed in a glass and it is definitely cloudy. I guess I will have to go to gp. This has happened to me in both previous pregnancies of the year so I worry it is not a good sign. Plenty of random stretchy feelings in the last couple of days though. Which one of you said it would be worth us backing away from the symptom / non symptom spotting? You were right!
