Ladies....begin.

OP posts:
TheLittleFriend · 24/11/2011 12:52

don't worry sweetie I don't piar either. I piapp (Pee In A Plastic Pot).

CD22 here which is pretty miraculous for me. No more spotting since about CD18. No symptoms except slightly sore boobs, which I always get. Actually had to cancel my acupuncture for today, as she wants to see me before I ovulate each month, so had to put it back til next week. That's progress!

possiblemaybebaby · 24/11/2011 12:54

Little this is amazing news. Now, remind me, is there definitely no chance of an ironic BFP.....

TheLittleFriend · 24/11/2011 13:04

I really don't think so Maybe. No swi from CD9 til CD19. I'm presuming the spotting was from ovulation which would have been around CD14. I would love to think I'm in with a chance, but am finding it easier to believe this is just a longer cycle, which is great anyway. Obviously if no AF by next Weds i'll piapp.

PopcornMouse · 24/11/2011 13:48

My SIL SWOI (that's shagged without intent :o ) on CD7 or 8 and got pg; with a 28 day cycle that would put ovulation between CD12 and CD16... so it can happen!

possiblemaybebaby · 24/11/2011 14:22

Pop there is hope for us all then! I don't get to SWI anymore, just SWOIL (shag when Otis isn't looking) Grin

So Little, there is indeed a chance for a BFP...... Grin

SweetieDoesIt · 24/11/2011 14:26

Oh Little all sounds possibly promising. Wink I would go search for a ramekin plastic pot if I were you.

Any other symptoms? Spots, sore boobs, any symptoms at all really???

Stasi · 24/11/2011 14:40

Popcorn - well done on getting DH to cut down on caffeine and alcohol. I've been very lucky, my DH cut down on everything off his own back. If anything he pushes me to eat better and exercise more.

I tried to get my results over the phone, but the nurse didn't know what they said really. The results were "marked for filing", there were no requests for me to come in, or for them to contact me. So she assumed everything was ok. I can get an appointment with a doctor to talk about the results, so may do that. I've had lots of appointments recently, and time off work for them, so am leaving it for a while. Maybe next week.

I don't PIAR either, I use a child sized cup we got from somewhere. It's a hand-me-down from student life, and never used for anything else.

Beedle and Little - sounds like 2 more BFPs on the way!

Whimsical - good luck for your viva. I'm sure you'll be fine, it's your work, you didn't cheat, so they can't catch you out with it.

I'm listening to an interesting program on 4OD Sperm Donor Unknown. The guy on there first donated sperm to a lady he met in a hair dressers. She would come into the cafe where he was a waiter, and give him her tub. He'd go out back, make her ice tea, and fill the cup... He's a little strange, thinks his sperm are conscious at the point of donation.

Back to work, sigh. I'm having to play bingo just now, which is not the most captivating of activities.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/11/2011 14:50

Hello everyone! My, you're all blooming today. I've brought cinnamon-spiced brazils for everyone :)

That's great, Little! Either your cycle has extended (whoop!) or you're pregnant (whoop whoop!)!

Good luck for tomorrow whimsical, hope all goes well.

If you haven't seen it, fertilityfriend.com are doing a special discount on their full VIP membership. You need to Like them on facebook (I unliked after about 20 seconds, hope no-one saw!) and go to their Promo page. It costs $24:95 (about £16) instead of $120. I may go for it, but to be honest I'm quite happy with charting the way I am right now, I don't think I need the bells and whistles too!

PopcornMouse · 24/11/2011 14:57

They had that offer about 2 months ago and I went for it (I liked using my cat's account Blush - he likes to play the sims ), as I love using FF and it's far better than their free competitors. It does mean I go a bit crazy with the charts gallery during 2ww though ;)

ScrambledSmegs · 24/11/2011 15:05

Grin at your cat playing the sims, Popcorn! Technologically savvy, is he?!

GenericDietCola · 24/11/2011 15:28

Ooh Little I'm brooking no argument for your BFP!

I actually POAS (old school, I know!). Fortunately the aim was OK, or it could have been a bit messy I have been known to pee on my hand

PopcornMouse · 24/11/2011 15:57

Yes smegs he likes to get his daily icanhascheezburger.com fix :o

musicalmrs · 24/11/2011 16:51

Spots are a definite symptom! I had several when I got my BFP, and went on to get a tremendous amount - looked awful for weeks. Slowly clearing up now..

Whim, good luck for your viva! I haven't yet managed to start my PhD (in music - not much funding, hence why I haven't started it yet!), but my Masters thesis viva was intense - and that's only Masters, so I will be finger-crossing/brooking that all goes wonderfully for you. Remember, you're the only expert on your thesis, not them! :)

Little, brooking for your ironic BFP! :)

PopcornMouse · 24/11/2011 17:03

Someone's posted in Conception that they've been refused referral until they're immune to rubella - is this the experience of any of you that have been referred? I am planning to go and grovel to the GP in Jan, but I know I'm not immune as I had an allergic reaction to my first MMR as a kid, so I never had the second one Confused

SweetieDoesIt · 24/11/2011 17:47

Pop I think I had a rubella check done as part of my day 3/21 bloods. They never mentioned the result though. It might be worth checking up with your own practice to see what the rules are there. It seems everywhere operates slightly differently.

musicalmrs · 24/11/2011 17:56

Pop, I know that checking for rubella immunity is one of the first things they ask about, and check up for in the booking in bloods - or they did for me, at least. Surely it can't hurt to phone your doctor and ask - and say that as you're TTC, and are aware of the risks, could you not be vaccinated against it? (if that's what you want of course!).

Imps7 · 24/11/2011 21:13

Good evening rat smackers!

Well, what a tiring day - presented a seminar this morning then had my interview this afternoon. Luckily both went v well - am really hoping the other partners in the new firm liked me and didn't think I was a complete imbecile.

But, interview is nothing compared to a viva! GOOD LUCK Whim - sounds terrifying but NO ONE knows more about your thesis than you. What you don't know about it isn't worth knowing! Hope it goes really really well.

Popcorn I hadn't heard that about the rubella jab. Am pretty sure I've had it but can't say for certain. Can you pay for a private one, or are you simply not able to have it due to allergy?

I think that the egg is popping today - feel the usual cramps and it's CD 18 which is a common egg laying day. Managed to shag Sunday, Tuesday and just now (Blush) - hopefully we'll fit another one in on Sat morning so fingers crossed we've done enough. Sorry, what am I saying - I am BROOKING. NO. ARGUMENT that we've done enough.

Sooooo Little - spotting and nothing since, eh? Sweetie, no symptoms eh?? Beedle, bikini line stabbing eh??? Well, it's blindingly obvious what's going on with you three...

OP posts:
ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 24/11/2011 21:56

Good luck for the outcome of the interview Imps! when will you know for certain that you've got the job? Can't wait for you to be able to hand in your notice!! Sounds like pretty spot on rat smacking as well. The next couple of weeks are going to be so exciting for you!

Good luck to Whim for the viva as well. Ive never had to do one but they sound pretty scary. Get your best Rat Smacking face on and make sure they know who's boss!

Sounds like the two BFPs this week were just the beginning, can't wait for all those due to test shortly to come flooding over to the antenatal thread! We're keeping seats warm and baked goodies out waiting for you all!

Imps7 · 25/11/2011 06:54

I should know in 2 weeks Scream - hopefully job offer and BFP on the same day!! Egg didn't pop yesterday annoyingly but feel nauseous this morning with slightly tingly boobs and cramps in the usual place so am pretty sure it's breaking free today. I really hope so. I'm so happy that OH has been initiating the SWI this month (he knows I'm ovulating) - a couple turnaround from a few months ago when it would freak him out.

How is pregnancy treating you Scream (apart from lack of sleep (saw on the PSEPP thread))?? You're looking gorgeous with that bump :)

Right, Friday, thank chuff for that. What's everyone's weekend plans?? Whim you'll clearly be celebrating a successful viva - when do you find our that you're Dr Whim??

OP posts:
SweetieDoesIt · 25/11/2011 08:35

Fingers crossed for the double whammy of good news coming your way Imps

Nothing much to report here, feeling a bit ratty and low stomach cramps. Will POAS tomorrow just to confirm what we already know Hmm who am I kidding??

So pleased it is almost weekend too, off to see We Will Rock You this evening with DH. Am very excited. Then tomorrow meeting up with friends for a boozy pre Christmas lunch. Am very very excited about that too. Then Sunday is the day of rest recovery.Grin

Munkiii · 25/11/2011 09:09

Good luck today Whim

Still brooking hard here!

PopcornMouse · 25/11/2011 09:19

Imps, Musical & Sweetie - oh noes! Yes, I'm sure I can have it if I want to, but you have to take a two month break (some websites are saying three ) from ttc afterwards . not that it would have made a difference, really, being that I've spent 10 cycles without a sniff of a bfp anyway Hmm

I don't know about the allergy, I'd guess they'd say it was a baby thing and I'd probably be fine as an adult? Poo. I think I will carry on as I am, and then when I see my GP in January I can always have it then, and have a break from ttc while I wait for a referral appointment but of course this is all theoretical because I am sooo pg

Imps glad the seminar and interview went well! What was the seminar on? I am always mightily impressed by anyone that has the confidence to speak to a room full of colleagues :) And good luck with the egg popping today ? that teensy egg-popping-delay makes yesterday's SWI perfectly timed and you are now officially upduffed :o

Nothing to report, here. Except that last night I had a barely restrainable craving for gherkins covered in melted fake-cheese slices, but I am only 8DPO so I know it was just me being a fruitcake Blush

This weekend I'm seeing my sister, and DH is working late shifts for the whole thing so I'll be annoying the cats and catching up on work

I wonder if far is enjoying India? Mmmm curry...

PopcornMouse · 25/11/2011 09:20

Do you know what, I'm a bit miffed that I've seen 2 GPs since last Jan and told them I was starting ttc (I had to come off some meds first) and neither of them even mentioned rubella. Hmm

Solars · 25/11/2011 09:48

Moooorning!

Popcorn re: the rubella, about 6 months before we started to ttc I went for my routine pill check at our gps and I mentioned to the nurse that we were going to be ttcing in about 6 months so she suggested taking a blood sample to make sure I was immune to rubella and if not that I would need the jab and couldn't start ttc until 3 months after! Your gps should have mentioned it, how frustrating for you! And by the way in my previous employment I would take seminars all the time - I loved it!!

Imps how lovely to get a new job and find you are updiffed in 2 weeks time, looking forward to the obvious confirmation!

Good luck with the viva Whimsi

Our plans for the weekend are a nieces 3rd birthday party!!

Right, I just need a bit of advice if someone can help, I think I should be ovulating either on sunday or monday, we last dtd on wednesday and was wondering whether we should swi tonight or wait 'til tomorrow morning?? (DH has a bit of a long day today although we may be in a rush tomorrow morning to get to SIL)

CupcakesAndCocktails · 25/11/2011 10:19

Good luck for today Whim, I'm sure you will be great. I have a very slight understanding of the stress involved as for my undergraduate degree I had a viva for my dissertation. When it was over I got so drunk I vomited all down my friend ahhh to be 21 again amazingly she is still a close friend Grin

Imps so glad the interview went well, I'm sure they will have loved you. Cant wait for the BFP/new job double whammy news!

Sweet get PIAR and confirm the bleeding obvious ok?!

Pop that's so pants over the rubella. I can't imagine thinking you might have to stop rat smacking for a while because of it. I would am very annoyed at your Dr as they should have informed you of that when you went about your meds.

Solars it's a tricky one, if you can fit it in I would do it tonight. Mainly cos I find if I put off DTD to time it better, something comes up and we don't manage it anyway!

I've forgotten who said they are seeing "We will rock you"? I saw it a few years ago, was awesome! I've got a presentation this afternoon then I'm off work all weekend. Am very excited, we are off to Christmas markets tonight and a cheese and wine tasting evening tomorrow.

Btw I've got a spot on my ear lobe! I'm so obviously up the duff. Seriously who gets a spot on their ear?! I tried googling it to see if it's a sign of pregnancy but found nothing. Only 9dpo going slowly mad
