Here we go yet again...

Good suggestion biscuits. I find an agreement that might hold for a few months is better for everyone, so that each month isn't too singled out and the TTC conversations are fewer (though I also find that I cave in to tears when AF arrives and all my good intentions about keeping my feelings under wraps are wasted...) boo.

beangrower · 02/11/2011 15:05

Thanks Cupcakes - you are sweet. Tell us the popular once - since everyone else has stolen it and you can't use it now anyway? x

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 15:05

"baby-gurning" :o :o :o

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 15:06

I agree - spill, cupcakes!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 02/11/2011 15:06

Years not tears!!

Oh and the taking a deep breath advice is because last month DH took ages to get home from a mates when I got a positive OPK which resulted in such a big row that I thought DH was going to divorce me. I was a totally crazy, shouting for hours at him Blush

CupcakesAndCocktails · 02/11/2011 15:10

I was going to call my girl Daisy, middle name was going to be Beth which is a family name. My boys name is fairly popular but we won't ever change that as it's my DH grandfathers name & he has always wanted to name his son that.

However it seems that every other girl is called Daisy these days Smile

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 15:16

Yes floral names are making a comeback aren't they? Next door's demonchild girl is called lily

farfallarocks · 02/11/2011 15:26

Ok gals you have made me feel so much better about this, that I am not alone. cupcake you sound like me!!!

I think every 2/3 days would be ideal, that is what I suggested, that we try and have mid week sex all cycle so it becomes the norm and not some oddity.

He is quite tired and he works in a very stressful job which is very blokey so I think he just wants to chill when we are home and not feel like he is not a real man which I might have shouted at him

My strategy is to drop the subject now as its too late for this month and we are on holiday next month so should not be a problem, he is fine on holiday

beangrower · 02/11/2011 15:35

Have a top-class bender of a holiday and don't take any sticks that can be p'd on and don't imagine twinges where it counts or any of that stuff. Sounds idyllic. xxx

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 15:36

I agree with bean - leave the CBFM, sticks etc at home, and just have a shag-filled, stress-free holiday :)

CupcakesAndCocktails · 02/11/2011 15:37

That sounds sensible Farfalla, next month will definitely be your month. Holiday sex is the best Wink
Good luck for tomorrow as well.

I've got one more cycle before I'm 30 yikes!

My ultrasound was ok, the doctor said she couldn't see anything obvious. I know my blood results are back as I got a letter from the GPs telling me to make an appointment after DH sample next week. I can access the results myself as they were analysed at my trust. Think I'll do that tomorrow as I can't wait any longer.

GenericDietCola · 02/11/2011 15:44

Happy birthday Bean!

Oh Farfalla sorry to hear about your DH last night. I like all the suggestions and I understand your frustration. It's so hard when you know it's the crucial time but you have to be careful not to say anything to upset the penis them. I'm sure next month will go well since you're on holiday and of course sperm are supposed to live for 5 days, so your weekend shagging may have done the trick anyway. I am feeling similar pressure for this month as I know I'm going to be away with work during ovulation so I'm hoping to get as many shags in as possible before Saturday and then will have to hope the little guys survive until the egg pops. I'm going to use Conceive Plus this time - not sure if it will help them survive longer, but worth a try. Perhaps this is an idea for you?

Popcorn I have loads of names in mind and we do have a list from the last pregnancy (mc in April). In fact, I think about names quite a lot! I have a very common name too and have been surrounded by others with the same name throughout school, university and work. DD consequently has a v unusual name!

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 15:52

Arabella was on my list for a while, til I realised that Twilight had resulted in a kazillion Bellas and now, sadly, it's Arabella :(

Glad the ultrasound went well, cupcakes.
But Shock that's cheating! lol

farfallarocks · 02/11/2011 16:23

The sticks will be left behind for sure!!

Here is hoping for some long term survival swimmers and I hope conceive plus does the trick for you this weekend Generic!!

cupcake great news about the scan

My favourite is Beatrice. Also really like Freddie and George for a boy. I am dead trad and boring though

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 16:25

Apparently I was very nearly Georgina Hmm but I do quite like the name George for a boy.

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 16:26

I'm Hmm at Georgina, but then I suppose I'd have at least been the only one...... :o

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 16:26

I should say, I'm Hmm because my Dad's called George...

Stasi · 02/11/2011 16:33

Far sorry to hear about your problems with DH. Thankfully my DP has always been cooperative - and sometimes even makes me to make an effort when I'm too tired. If we do have problems, then I try and talk with him about how I feel. I say things like "I feel like you don't want this as much as me, can we talk about why I maybe feel like this, and how we can change it?". I find it works a lot better than accusing him of not wanting to TTC, or not caring. It might also get him to let you know how he feels. Just make sure you both understand there's no accusations, and you're not declaring you're right and he's wrong.

Bean Happy birthday, hope you've had a good day so far, and that it continues to get better.

As for baby names, I've had a list since I was in school. I got really annoyed with my Mum when she named my brother James, I felt like she'd stolen my favourite boys name on purpose. I've got lots of girls names I like, but only one boys name... and it's a little too close to the cats' name!

Cupcakes glad your ultrasound went well.

There's been so much chat today I can't remember everything to comment on. I've been lurking and reading, but desperately trying to get all my work done before leaving tonight. The wedding is getting very close indeed, just two days of manic planning and chocolate making to go!

PopcornMouse · 02/11/2011 16:43

stasi one thing DH and I have agreed is that for the entire pregnancy, we're going to insist to our families that we're naming DC after our much-beloved cat :o

Stasi · 02/11/2011 16:55

I've found recently I like lots of boys names, mostly traditional ones.. and, embarrassingly, most of the cast of Thomas the Tank Engine. The only one DH and I have agreed on is William, but the cat is called Willow (shortened to Wil).

Girls names are mostly 'common' ones, I like Emily, Kayti, Abigail... for a middle name I like May, which also happens to be DP's grandmother's name.

OP posts:
beangrower · 02/11/2011 17:40

stasi - as I'm a newbie so I hope you don't mind me asking is it your wedding you're planning? How exciting and congrats. How about Will1 for cat and Will2 if you get a DS?

Birthday very pleasurable indeed, thanks, though fairly domestic you could say.

I'm a big fan of May/Mae as a middle name too. My DS got a name which could go either way (we were hedging our bets, though I suspected it was a boy kicking me without rest for 7 months before entering this world) - Rowan. Shame as it's quite a nice girl's name...

Cupcakes - did ultrasound reassure you? I hope so - really good news that looks fine in there. No need for a new sofa and curtains - the place is already spick and span.

x

Stasi · 02/11/2011 18:44

Hi Bean, yes, it's my wedding I'm planning. Early Sat afternoon I will be married! Off to my Hen Night now. Though it should be quite a quiet affair, as none of us are big drinkers. Just dinner and a couple of cocktails...

Imps7 · 02/11/2011 19:35

Helloooo my be-wonderful wombed people :)

And hellllloooooooo Cupcakes! Wonderful to see you back!!

Ooooooh and welcome Bean! As I'm sure the others have told you, you have officially been awarded 1 pregnancy for joining this thread. Congratulations! And many happy returns!

Oh Farfalla, christ, I know all about that "just man the fuck UP" feeling. I have been there OH SO MANY times. It always seems that everyone else's OH's can manage to shag them at the right time and that there must be something wrong with OH/you when your OH can't. I totally and completely and 100% get it and I sympathise. I only really count cycles where I'm likely to ovulate on Saturday to Monday as possibly successful ones as mid-week shagging is so difficult now that OH is back at work in a stressful job. 2 shags during the fertile window is as good as it gets usually! Just remember - you are fertile for 5 days and it only takes one shag. Ignore the concept of a Shagathon - that's not helpful and really, not everyone has Shagathons. Bless you, I hope you're okay.

Popcorn - I have a shortlist of names!! And have even posted them on the Baby Names board to get feedback Luckily OH has already said that I should just give him a list of names that I like and he will cross out the ones that he doesn't. We've already said that we both like Hazel and May - boys names are so hard though. I love the name Abraham (nn Abe), but reckon that a lot of people would laugh at that.

Well I'm on 9 DPO! I shall do a symptoms summary for you all - a "sympsum", if you will:

  1. Vomming last Thursday at 4 DPO (I always feel nauseous at various points during 2ww, but rarely vom unless I've had too much to drink the night before)
  1. Sore boobaloobs - nips, side boobs and underneath boobs (I get these every cycle...interestingly enough they have become more painful since cutting down on alcohol - yet more evidence of increased progesterone!)
  1. An itchy rash on my belly, starting at my belly button and radiating outwards (this is new - never had this before. "Surely it's a symptom of work-related stress, Imps, given the redundancy situation!" I hear you cry. Well no it isn't - when I do have work-related stress (and god only knows I've suffered from this in the past) I get eczema on my inner elbows (or "inbows" as I call them). My inbows are crystal clear. This rash is definitely something new.
  1. Thick clots of cream/yellow pant snot (I had this a few cycles ago)

Ummm, that's about it. So what do you all reckon - deffo upduffed???

Imps7 · 02/11/2011 19:35

Oh, Jazzy - hope you're at least on your 4th bottle of wine already tonight!!

Biscuitsandtea · 02/11/2011 19:39

Love the sympsum Imps!!

And yuppers, deffo updiffed!
