Here we go yet again...

Im in the same camp as Popcorn Stasi, I can always find my cervix, though to be honest, I had no idea that that is actually what it was until I started TTC Grin

musicalmrs · 24/10/2011 12:36

maybe, a week at home should definitely make everything ok ;) Hoping it might combat the run down feeling I've had for the past two/three weeks!

Popcorn, it's obviously true. She's just annoyed she won't be able to see you for a while, so she's making her presence known :P

Scrambled, good work on the sperm-killing pant round up! I was lucky in that DH already had some looser underwear that he liked, that I could convince him into for a little while... whether it helped or not, who knows! Seconding Popcorn - it's not over til she makes an appearance...

Stasi, I'm normally able to find mine with relative ease - only occasionally it disappears out of reach!

Imps7 · 24/10/2011 12:41

Arrrg arrrrrg arrrrrg! Why does it delete your message when you press "post" on a too-full thread?? Arg.

Potted summary:

  • I get ov pains too - period-type cramps and more targetting pain on right side near where I think ovary is.
  • Still haven't ovulated - am 1 or 2 days' late now. Think happening today as getting the above cramps.
  • Sorry not to have caught up - had busy weekend and been busy this morning plotting preparing for redundancy consultation. Have already scored one point on procedural defect [hgrin]
  • Hope you're all well!
  • Catch up later.
TheLittleFriend · 24/10/2011 12:42

Hope you're feeling better today maybe?

Love the boxers story Stasi. Luckily my dp wears them anyway. I don't think he'd be happy with me hiding his pants!

Solars I hope your dp obliged last night. And I think he'd better again tonight for good measure!

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 13:04

DH goes commando. He reckons it was his way of rebelling against authority (his mum) as a young teen, and it's stuck :o

Maybe me either!! I honestly had an appalling knowledge of my reproductive system before ttc.

NinjaChipmunk · 24/10/2011 13:07

imps it is indeed very annoying as that just happened to me too! I have to say again it ain't over till its over, my cramps and stretching are basically the same as period pains. Good work on the redundancy.

I have a baking question. I made these muffins at the weekend and they were lovely but how do you get them to rise like the ones in starbucks? What the hell do they put in them?

solars good luck with the shagathon, sounds like the clomid is working!

Stasi · 24/10/2011 13:24

I lost my message last night on the old thread - however, if you press the back button on your browser, your message should still be there! It worked for me. Too late now of course, but worth a try next time.

Ninja I'm not sure, I shall have to try making them to see... and taste tests, lots and lots of them. I'd say maybe more baking powder, but the key might be the amount you stir them. You want to introduce lots of air into the mix when you fold in the chocolate and raspberries, and not stir it out too much with over mixing afterwards. However, I only know this in theory, and am far from an expert baker.

Hi All - like the new thread!

The big test debate update: I think I'm going to wait and test on Friday.

Last AF started (very late on) Sunday 2 October 2011. So I think that I should get a reasonably accurate result on Friday. Particularly as I am sure I ov-ed last Saturday as had such a sore side.

If negative (and no AF) then will test again on Sunday when I get home.

Eeeeek. I've turned myself in to a mad symptom spotter but it is really hard to work out what could be symptoms and what is just possible PMT/AF getting ready to arrive.

In terms of testing timing. Is it ALWAYS better to do it first thing in the morning? Therefore, should I do it on Friday am and not Friday pm?

I'm knackered today but that is because I unpacked all 17 boxes of wedding presents yesterday and cleared out our kitchen totally to put them away etc. It took 9 hours in total but so relieved that it is all done.

On other news, we also need to find some nice dining room furniture (including cabinets for the wedding presents!). I really like OKA but does anyone have any other tips for a similar type of shop?

Hope everyone else is well - just off to catch up with the rest of the thread

GenericDietCola · 24/10/2011 14:02

Stasi thanks for new thread!

Maybe sorry you are feeling so poorly - hope you feel better soon. Musical same goes for you - enjoy the week off!

Imps you go girl!

Shiny sounds sensible to test on Friday, but personally I enjoy not testing early and wondering/fantasising that I may be pregnant. If you get a BFN it's very disappointing, even if you tell yourself it may still be too early to know. Best to test with FMU (first morning urine) as that's when the hCG is most concentrated.

Well, I may be out this month. Got spotting, but am trying to Brook No Argument and insist that it is implantation. On the bright side, it is 12 dpo so I think that is a respectable LP (Farfalla, any advice as you are my LP guru?)

GenericDietCola · 24/10/2011 14:03

Cake sorry about the BFN.

Solars · 24/10/2011 14:06

Afternoon ladies,

Stasi sounds like your wedding plans are coming along nicely. I have never checked for my cervix so sorry can't help. Mine according to my smear test nurses is elusive anyway!

All is looking good on the job front for you Imps!

Cake & Scrambled really hope that af does stay away tomorrow, will be brooking extra hard for you both. Stay away crazy lady

Musical I'm good thanks and it sounds like you really deserve the rest at home, how lovely, enjoy and make the most of it as i'm sure after the little bean arrives these days will be in short supply.

Little I'm glad to report that DH did in fact oblige last night, I haven't told him about today as well yet [eek smiley]

Thanks Ninja and I think what Stasi said makes sense to get some more air into the mixture. Hope you're doing well.

Popcorn of course you're not a pansy although it did make me smile when I read about you & fireworks, hope you're feeling better today.

Shiny sounds like you have a plan, everything crossed for you testing. You should always use first morning urine as this will have the most concentration of HCG especially if you are testing early (ie before af due date)

CakePigeon · 24/10/2011 14:07

Noooo generic I'll not hear of it, you're still in the game until AF proper.

shiny I'm impressed by your dedication to a well organised kitchen. As for furniture, I heart Laura Ashley. I have a bit of a laura Ashley themed house tbh Blush

imps hope the plotting is going well!

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 14:07

shiny I think it is best to POAS first thing, because the chemical is most concentrate in your wee then.

ninja a wee bit of baking powder and sift your dry ingredients to within an inch of it's life, whether it needs it not :o

Solars · 24/10/2011 14:09

Oh Generic just cross post with you, will be brooking no argument extra hard for you too x

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 14:14

Wow, a whole bunch of extra messages just appeared!

DrMunkenstein · 24/10/2011 14:18

Good luck you three! Hope AF stays away.

shiny do FMU and good luck to you too.

Just did my OPK and for the fourth day seems to be positive. I give up!
Have SWI three days straight, need to give DH a night off.

Hope everyone else OK?

Apologies for not always name checking properly but I do wish all of you the best.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/10/2011 16:22

Thanks everyone!

farfallarocks · 24/10/2011 16:29

Hi gals! Wow I have so much to catch up on!!

generic keep up the brooking and regardless that is a very decent LP!!

FX for everyone else

popcorn I also have a tilted uterus (retroverted) which I only found out on Friday at my scan. One in 3 women do apparently, it makes no difference to TTC though, just can make smears and scans a little more uncomfortable.

I am finding it hard to keep the no brooking spirit today. Feeling tearful and utterly panicky at the realisation we have been TTC for 10 months with only 2 early mcs to show for it. I know we have not actively tried every month but I hate not even trying, we are not even the race IYSWIM.

My acne seems to have gone into total overdrive this weekend which is also really getting me down, its like a daily reminder of my screwed up hormones. Tyring to keep it together but I am feeling desolate today, there was a preggers lady at the tube this morning and I had to go to another carraige as I just could not cope with having to give up my seat for her.

I am now considering starting the agnus castus and cutting out sugar and wheat completely for the spots. But I don;t know how much more of my usual life I can put on hold waiting for what seems like a miracle.

I need a slap please girls

DrMunkenstein · 24/10/2011 16:54

Farfalla I know I don't know you as well as the others on this thread, and they will come and give you good advise soon but I couldn't not post.

I know the excruciating pain of TTC, it took me a long time with DD. I used to avoid pg ladies, hide posts on FB and cower behind ailses in shops when i saw people I knew with their babies.

I used to go home and cry, a lot. After a year we were referred for tests.

I am sorry you are feeling this way, and wish I could say something useful to make you feel better. I hope your skin is not causing you any pain either.

I am here for a bit if you are around and want to talk.

Stasi · 24/10/2011 17:00

Farfalla really sorry you're not having a good day. I'm going to refuse to give you a slap though. I changed how I deal with things recently, trying to understand what I feel, and why I feel it, and not letting anyone (even myself) tell me I shouldn't feel that way. When I'm feeling down, and don't like the train of my thoughts, I try and imagine what I would say to my best friend if they sat down and told me they were feeling just like me. Inevitably I find out I'd have a lot more patience with them than I would myself.

Really hope your day, and week, improves immeasurably.

CakePigeon · 24/10/2011 17:04

Thank you for the brooking everyone Smile

Oh far I'm so sorry you're having a bad time of it. I know it must feel like you're not moving forward because you're not 'trying' this month but you having tests done is progress. Once any problem is identified things will move a lot faster. Plus at least you are one step down the line as you do fall pg quickly so there is a silver lining. I know how you feel though we have been ttc a while now and AF turns up bang on 14dpo every bloody month while there are smug pregnant people everywhere. Sad hopefully we'll all get the chance to be pg and smug really soon!Smile

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 17:04

:o

far, look at it this way if it helps, or ignore if not! - you have been ttc for 10 cycles but you have had 2 early mc so you know you and DH can fertilise an egg - which is half the battle? - and you're getting loads of top-notch investigation in to why said bean hasn't stuck to date.

As everyone insists on saying in irritatingly upbeat tones says, 10 cycles seems like an aaaaaage to us, but really it's not that long. 6-12 is completely normal. So you're nowhere near "it'll never happen for me" territory. Not even close. Lightyears off, in fact.

So, in conclusion it will happen for you but stressing about it will only get you cake, hugs, brooking and, if requested, slappage :o

CakePigeon · 24/10/2011 17:05

munk no idea about your abundance of LH im afraid, hope things become clearer for you soon though

DrMunkenstein · 24/10/2011 17:08

Thanks cake at least I have an appointment at the clinic in december if nothing happens, which it probably won't.

And Farfalla, as popcorn says it will happen. The waiting part sucks though.

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 17:09

PS - if you're not using it already, I highly recommend Clinique's "type 4" exfoliator and oil-free moisturisers for daily use, and also Freederm gel (which is an anti-inflamatory) for when you can feel a big juicy one on the way. My skin is loads better now I use it.
