Well I've had my own mini drama since I posted last night... Poor Benj has had croup since last week but his breathing was awful last night, really shallow and weak coupled with a terrible mucusey cough so we took him to A&E and they confirmed severe croup and steroids were administered. They were initially wanting to admit him but after speaking to consultant we got to take him home as his vitals were all OK. Had a wee cute moment when they were checking his pulse and he had to wear one of the pulse bulldog clip type things on his teeny tiny big toe. Also felt a bit wobbly lipped seeing his heart rate on the monitor as it reminded me of seeing his heart rate at my scans when he was in my tummy. His breathing was much better this morning and DH's Mum is at home with him. My wee boy
Buddha - so delighted the op went well. Paediatric staff are normally utterly brilliant and glad yours was too
. Great to read Master E is back to his cheeky monkey self and his appetite was not diminished! Let's hope the sleep improves toute sweet too.
Barbie - you sound more reassured today. I'd never heard of membrane folds and bands
before reading your post, jeez... Stay positive and ghopefully scan on 17th will be all good.
On a brighter note, you can't go saying you're going to call your DS Hugo - we'll never get strawb back if she knew that
. Her opinion if I remember correctly was... "rugger bugger type -hurrumph" What about Henry? Alfred? Benedict? Nathanial? James Junior
re: Aberdeen. Its a beautiful city, very wealthy as lots of oil workers live and work there. My FIL has a flat in city centre as he works there Mon-Thurs.. I know people who live outwith as its so expensive property wise.. Great shops and restaurants and I'm sure enough Baby and toddler groups than you can shake a stick at
. Now the accent is something else, Aberdonians are always described as "furry boots". As in where we would say "whereabouts" in Aberdeen it comes out as "furry boots" - no really
Vjay - hope Ajay's hair has recovered from your painting. Hope you weren't trying to cover up his gorgeous red Scottish hair
.
4ever - loved reading about your hols and chilled out post-holiday outlook
. Holidays are great for clearing your head and seeing things clearer. Age differences are such a personal things but I have 3.5 years between mine (although should have been 2.10) and felt DS2 had proper quality baby time with me as his big brother was at pre-school nusery every day.. I also made sure I spent qt time with DS1 but he understood his brother needed alot of Mummies time and was out of nappies etc. by then which made things easier. There were still some days that it all went tits up but that happens irrespective of age gaps! Enjoy your DD, she sounds so full of life and love and will make a terrific big sister one day
QA - not heard from you since you were meeting the midwife, is everyhting OK?... Less than a month to go - eep!
cupcake -
at your (.) (.) Mine are a sorry version of their former selves... Have you done the baking soda test?!?!
Gracie congrats on becoming an auntie
Louey - how is the separate rooms working out? Hats off to you flying solo with a baby, two energetic and spirited 4 years old and two different schools.. your beach day sounded lovely
neeko - Can't wait to meet Miss H
. I'm sure she'll be bossing B around in no time!
curly - are we at pom pom time yet? Tell me to shut up but have you thought of OPK's yet? Loved your post from last week too
MLS - hope the positive thinking is continuing, you'll have DD2's birthday to help keep you busy. BTW do they do maternity slankets? Or, lets face it, do they need to as they are so massive to begin with
Sabs - glad you had a lovely weekend celebrating our first pink graduate
. She's such a proper little girl now
LBM - wow! Dubai in Feb
. Retro hats off for coping with DD and DS and 17 months between them
Thanks for all your supportive comments on my recent fug. Saw my counsellor last week and got some good practical advice (as well as balsam tissues and water on demand
). Don't want to go into it here as its something I need to work on on my own but your kind comments certainly helped my rather bruised heart so
Right, back to work x
