Hello all - no ear infection here thankfully! Summer not impressed with the doc looking in her ears though poor sausage, you may all of heard her screams around 10.45am this morning! Knew this morning it was unlikely, as she was on absolutely top form but figured best to check, and also wanted to get to docs myself as since last mc my af is back to horribly heavy, clotty state pre preg with summer, a full term preg sorted me right out, then it all went horrid again, as well as excruciating ovulation pain, so have asked for a scan referral to check all A OK, wondered about PCOS or endo, prob unlikely, but wanna be ship shape for thinking about ttc again! Smile Also arranged my yrly smear (post dodgy cells) for next fri.. So, a successful trip in all... Went to my Dmums after and took her christmas decs down and totally blitzed her housework, now im sitting on the sofa at home with a gorgeous sleeping girl next to me, so shall attempt a catch up!!!

Hello lovely Blue Smile I did wonder how you northerly ladies may have been affected yesterday! It was scary stuff! Glad you had a lovely hols and your 2012 plans sound fab! We are finally going to paint the front of the house, but i think that's it on the diy front! So hear you on the transitional stages of wedding/babies/house! Not sure about watching OBEM as previously watched when preg to try and gage what to expect, which of course, is impossible, but it definitely helped prepare and educate us!

As for the Summer talking thing, I'm pretty chilled really, its more observational inquisitiveness to compare to others, like you, I do believe as she is very advanced in other ways and so tall and grown up seeming for her age that talking lots will follow in good time.. Having gone through what we did to have her, I'm really chilled about all that stuff and totally let her set her own path, fraid I'm not a 'manual' mummy at all and all these pupd techniques and terms go over my head, which keeps us all nice and stress free! Grin

Barbie don't think I said either how filled with horror i was at the lift saga! I was right there with you heart in mouth! Shock Your christmas sounded wonderful, specially the swimming with dolphins part! Envy You have a very busy few wks ahead huh?! What's your plans for Dollys birthday? Is young Henry due beforehand? You must have so many to do lists!

Buddha I'm so sorry I've not yet offered my condolences for your friend, how horribly sad.. Sad Raising money is a fantastic cathartic thing to do, i did for both my Dad and Bro and it helps! Not sure id jump out of a plane again Hmm but running is good! Grin I think I'm still your cycle buddy, due in just over a wk i think, not entirely sure actually, which is quite nice! However think I'm out the running this month as my lovely bug saw to that! Confused

Sabs great to see your post and hooray to your hopeful housemove! Exciting to hear you're thinking about ttc too! Will have to try and arrange another get together at some point! Bet Saara is so big now!

Curly you too, that is if your sickness finally eases up, poor you it must just be awful... Any sign of Spd this time around? You really suffered last time didn't you? fingers xd things ease as you go through your 2nd trimester...

Cupcake can't believe your over half way! Shock You do realise you will whizz through now don't you?! Grin

Mls and Gracie are quiet! You must both also be blooming!

Lbm glad your christmas ended up a success and the old sherry trick worked! Wink Boo to going back to work and the horrible commute again.!

Vjay are you busy maximizing your last days of school hols with your boys before the study hat goes back on?!

Neeko same for you? All set for the new term as both parent and teacher?!

Thinking of the MIA crew, Strawberry Monkey Jools and Moon, wishing good things for you all, always....

Right better wake this young lady up! Hmm

BuddhaBelly · 04/01/2012 23:04

4ever So sorry I wasn't about for the ear advice but glad to hear Summer is infection clear.
Will post properly tomorrow as its late and the MN app doesn't show previous posts so can't catch up properly Hmm
See you in the morning lovelies Smile

4everhopeful · 05/01/2012 09:32

No worries buddha! Smile

Got totally sucked back into OBEM! DH actually called to say it was back on and reminded me the first series cos preg were learning from it, the second we were comparing, and OMG that birth last night brought it right back, taken to theater for forceps delivery after an hr of pushing! Got all excited thinking I wanna do it again, then in the same second floored by the thought that in exactly 7wks i should of been... Sad However DH and I were chatting afterwards that actually we are so wrapped up in Summer, we're still not sure we are entirely ready for no 2! I think once she is a bit older and potty trained and really talking we'd feel more ready, but all of that will be happening within 9m-1yr anyway, so ttc not on hold, just not an olympic sport at the mo! Grin Also right now, Summer is just so entertaining, I forgot to mention that on New yrs day, for ages now Summer picks the phone up in the hall when it rings and says hello, even when it doesn't ring! Suddenly there was a knock on the door and the shout of 'Police! Someone called us!' Shock Yep, she made her first ever call and it was 999! Grin Luckily they saw the funny side! She spent the rest of the day being extra adorable and kept pouring us 'tea' from her peppa teapot and set and carefully bringing over precariously balanced cups and saucers! Grin Too cute! Don't know how she knows about cups and saucers?! We don't use them, but its soooo heartmelting! For double recompense she slept til 9.50am Shock the next morning! Blissful last lie in for DH! Grin

cupcakefairy · 05/01/2012 12:51

Hi ladies...oh bum I forgot to record OBEM will have to watch on 4od but 4ever Shock not sure I want to relive the whole 'forceps after an hour of pushing' thing!! Grin have to say I am swinging between positive about giving birth and almost looking forward to it, to absolutely terrified at the moment... just wish there was a way of knowing how it would pan out! I desperately want to be on MLU this time and have a lovely water birth with G&A and it will make up for the nightmare I had with ds but I also have to accept things could go that way again....sigh. Just praying with all I have that this one gets in the right position and therefore isn't miles overdue

Btw 4ever wrt speech I think ds was just so so pleased to be around so many people at Christmas he went into major show off mode and was constantly babbling and pointing at everyone saying their names cos he loves the reaction it gets. He's been quieter since getting back home, and he also does the thing of learning words and then suddenly not saying them for ages. I know you're not actually worried about S but just wanted to add extra reassurance that they all develop at different rates :) think I've said before that my bro didn't talk til he was 3 and he is a real genius now Grin

barbie no we don't know the flavour :) so lovely you've picked ds's name...does Dolly say it yet?

blue we're still set on one particular girl's name that we had picked out for ds but I won't reveal that one :) I can tell you some others on the shortlist are Sadie (you have great taste MLS I love that name) but sadly think it would be a bit much with ds's name Grin maybe if we end up having several daughters! We also like Enid and Agnes (slightly old-lady a la Lily Allen's Ethel Grin) but not sure I could actually bring myself to calling my child either of those...
For boys we are really stuck...we don't want another J or it would be Jesse. Middle name would def be John too as it's all over our families so lots of thinking to be done!
Btw I too am ruthless about taking pressies back to exchange, or giving things to charity shops that I know we won't use Blush my grandma is usually terrible culprit for getting ds not-very-nice clothes but this year she did well with a lovely striped jumper Grin I approved!

Right, laptop is being stupidly slow, maybe cos thread is so big...so think I'll sign off there!

VJayJazzle · 05/01/2012 16:24

Hiya
4ever I've been concerned about ajays speech before now, but my lovely HV says they concentrate on one thing at a time, ie physical stuff or mental stuff but not both at the same time. Your summer sounds like my ajay, very physical with all the walking climbing running and jumping that speech gets put on the back burner, he has slowed a bit now and plays with his cars more gabbling away to himself and we are getting a lot more speech now. I think blue can relate to what I've just wrote with respect to her two monkeys Smile

BuddhaBelly · 05/01/2012 21:29

Right catch up time!
Cupcake Yey to the growing bump Smile Season 7 of Greys Shock I'm still on season 2 as a late entrant to the club! Did you catch up with OBEM? I am so glad it's back on, guaranteed a good cry now every Wednesday night!
4ever Summers experience with the doctor made me smile, poor Ewan is so used to having his ears checked that I just tell him to assume the position and he sits on my lap with his head on my chest waiting for them to poke! Bless him Smile It is so natural to compare our children to their peers but they are all so so different I wouldn't worry about Summers speech I am sure you will be posting in the next few months saying she won't stop chattering! Grin Although I'm having a crisis of confidence about E's development but more on that later. So what is the betting now you have announced that you are chilled about ttc and not "going for it" you will be announcing a BFP very shortly Wink Grin
Barbie So if Dolly gets the loudness from you does she get the lifting of tops and checking out nappies/pants from you too? Wink
Blue How was the return to work? Big plans for the house this year by the sounds of it Smile No symptoms yet to report so probably not caught the egg this month although have been in a bad mood but that usual for PMT anyway
Vjay Glad your HV has reassured you about Ajays speech Smile

We had a check up at Birmingham where E had his op yesterday, he had another hearing test which was inconclusive but he definately missed the same pitches as last time on the left side, but will be reviewed again locally in March. 've been a little worried about a few things this week, maybe if I vent here I may feel a little better?? Hmm I mentioned that the HV wanted to refer us to a speech therapist which I was fine with. When I took E to nursery this week they asked me to sign an incident form as he'd scratched another child in an unprovoked attack, we had a short discussion about the referral the HV had made, his failing his hearing test, she stated that they have noticed he is better in small groups especially in the sensory room where it is quieter. I asked if they felt he was behing in speech or pronounciation but they said not necessarily but they felt he was getting frustrated that he couldn't make the other children understand him. I was very Hmm as I really didn't think that this was a problem and as we all do compared him to his friends we see regularly who are a little older and he seems more ahead than them. They said they were monitoring his behaviour as he'd been shoving other kids too. I feel like I'm failing him some how? I think it's just frustration as he wants to do everything yesterday but don't want to think that this is just me making "excuses" for him. He is very wilful and I have advised the nursery that they need to show him there are actions for his consequences by putting him on time out for unacceptable like we do at home (currently they just tell him that what he did isn't very nice and ask him why??) Is there anything else you think we should be doing?

BuddhaBelly · 06/01/2012 11:17

Oops have I scared people off with my long post Hmm Blush
I do feel 100% better just getting my worries off my chest!
Good news today my temporary fixed term promotion has just been made permanent!! Grin Grin I am so so happy!! All I need now is a bfp Grin
AF due Monday but no symptoms as yet

cupcakefairy · 06/01/2012 13:05

buddha you didn't scare me off Grin so sorry about all your worries with E :( seems a bit weird the nursery didn't mention before that they were 'monitoring his behaviour'...I can't give much advice as I don't have an older child but just wanted to say you are SO NOT failing him! Don't even think that...you're being an amazing mum just by even asking for advice. Sorry the hearing test was inconclusive again, must be frustrating for you, hopefully more answers in March.
I'm quite jealous of you being on season 2 of Grey's...the early seasons are soooo good. It's all good, but the early ones are what made me fall in love with it :) I'm saving season 7 as I'm still watching season 7 of House (also fab!)
Yes did manage to catch up with OBEM and tears were running down my face just during the opening montage BlushGrin sobbed at the actual births! Thought the non-forceps birth was actually quite an encouraging one she seemed to be coping v well.

cupcakefairy · 06/01/2012 13:07

Oh and congrats on the permanent position!! Yay!! Grin pompoms a-waving for you this week!

bluesatinsash · 06/01/2012 14:36

Buddha - remember E is TWO what what comes with being TWO? The terrible twos'!

It is very common for two year olds to try and stamp their authority whether it by puching, shoving, biting (my niece!). They have their own sense of the world now but don't have the commuication skills or vocabulary to back it up which, if your baby is spirited in nature Smile can easily lead to frustration and hitting out.

I think its great that the nursery has a sensory room as being two is hard. Do think they should have raised any concerns with you earlier tho' Hmm.

I would just up the ante for E's good behaviour and stay consistent with removal of treats for any naughty behavour.

If it makes you feel any better, my B's favourite phrase just now it "Isaac, MOVE". The ego has landed Grin.

You are doing a fantastic job, bringing up a secure and happy little bo, have a bunch of Thanks

Any Thanks for your promoted promotion.

Work grand this week, very quiet so have eased myself back in. Now next week, other kettle of fish but I'll worry about that then.

cupcake - do like Enid but I have an 84 year old Auntie Agnes Grin. Why not likey two J's? I love same initials and was going to have an Imogen to go with Isaac but she was he and Innes was my only other 'I' boys name and way too similar to Isaac.. I think Jude and Jesse sound fab together.

laters!

bluesatinsash · 06/01/2012 14:40

oh and cupcake - Grey's series 2 finale - (the 'Ball' one) - Danny and Izzy in her ballgown with 'Chasing Cars' playing all the way through the episode - my favourite ever episode of any drama ever...

It did dip in series 4 and 5 but last two have been great!

'scuse my spelling earlier Blush

barbie1 · 06/01/2012 15:37

Hi all, sorry for absence....just lurking. On bed rest after a bleeding scare. Have been feeling funny for a few days, dog tired and it feels like a foot might push its way out of my fango at any given moment. Then today I had pink tinged discharge so called the hospital who told me its normal to get it at this stage especially after bedroom antics Wink and just to take it easy. If there is still blood tomorrow I have to go in, they have left a memo for my doctor who they said will call me in the morning. Baby moving ok so not too worried but still.....

Buddha, e sounds like any normal two year old!!!! Dollies best friend who is also a boy has started to push her, pinch her, etc etc. I think it's just one of those things. Mind you d can give as good as she gets.

Blue, Henry, will be a Henry and nothing else. I didnt realise that prince harry was a henry.

Right would love to chat more but I'm so uncomfortable. Will try tomorrow. Night all x

cupcakefairy · 06/01/2012 15:40

blue lol at 84-yr-old Agnes... reminds me of Friends when Ross wants to name the baby Ruth and Rachel says 'Oh I'm sorry, are we having an 89-year-old?' It was actually my mum that suggested Agnes and it's kinda grown on me...it was also Mother Teresa's christened name... but I reeeally don't like Aggie as a nn so I think it will be off the table for that reason!
Enid comes from the comic/movie Ghost World which dh and I both love...but I'm not sure it sounds v good with the d sound at the end of ds's name too Hmm lol- I'm obsessed that it has to sound perfect in all its forms! So if it didn't sound right when said with ds's name, or with all our names, or with our surname then it would be out.
Jude and Jesse is nice together but I'd just like all 4 of us to have different initials.

And yes, series 2 finale is fabulous!

cupcakefairy · 06/01/2012 15:41

x-post hi barbie! Eek to bleeding and being uncomfortable :( hope that improves what with your v active girl to be running round after!

4everhopeful · 06/01/2012 17:34

Hey girls!

Buddha was just gonna post what Blue said, you have a totally normal sounding 2yr old from what you say! Its that frustrating age where emotions aren't something they can control and biting/punching/kicking is all part of it while your little person asserts their independence and starts trying to work out the world he lives in... Had a great MN mail on 'your 18m development' that talks of them believing they are the most important person in the world and woe betide anyone that doesn't agree! Think it can be dodgy ground when anyone starts to judge 'acceptable behavior' in toddlers! Hmm I wouldn't worry if I were you.... Crap about the hearing test, that's something you probably will worry about, hopefully once the grommits kick in and infections clear up you will see an improvement? Big congrats and Thanks for the promotion though! Grin Pom poms a shaking for monday!

Barbie oooch bleeding always going to be a worry, think i remember similar about that stage? Is it about 6wks to go now? My nephew is Henry Hugo, but always been Harry!

Talking names, Cupcake I'm quite a fan of ye olde school names too! Smile One of my friends DD is called Maudie Mae, was a bit Hmm initially but i just love it now! If we have another girl middle name will be Violet after my Nan, our chosen first name is olde too, I've mentioned it before Biscuit Smile

Blue loved that first week back at work in jan when half the office is still on hols and everyone's still on a 'go slow' - hope being back to the grindstone next week isn't too much of a shock to the system!

Lastly, never leastly, bless you Vjay for your pearls of reassuring wisdom about your similar scenarios with Ajays talking, like you, and your lovely HV said, I truly believe that too, cos Summer is a whirlwind of energy, (just like her late Dgranddad Smile) and constantly on the move, jumping/running/climbing, she just doesn't have time to talk! Grin You can totally see everything processing in her head at a million miles a minute.. (which as i wrote that realise Dh says the same about me!) So, not at all worried as she's bright as a button, just like your Ajay sounds like, so thank you cos its really nice to hear our theory being validated isn't it?! Grin

4everhopeful · 07/01/2012 16:04

Quiet today ...

Just transferring dates from my old calendar, including all my edd's which i just put a tiny heart on the day, nothing else, I just like to remember their short little lives, especially as i saw all their little beating hearts, if i didn't mark the dates on my calendar i think i would lose track otherwise, especially now I've had to add a 5th, the edd of my last lost angel that's still to come on 23rd feb... Sad Realised I also had one on 23rd jan... Also wierd writing 2 of my friends DDs 4th birthdays in april, we were all pregnant together with my 1st... Wouldn't change it for the world as otherwise we wouldn't have been blessed with Summer, but wierd seeing it all written down and thinking about it.... This is the only place i can really say it all... All cool though, remembering with a smile and counting my blessings for my little miracle girl Smile

VJayJazzle · 07/01/2012 17:11

{{{ 4ever }}} I've got one in January too, the 20th I think, I lose track, hope that doesn't sound heartless.

buddha I feel like the worse mum when ajay goes and hits a child or snatches a toy, but it's just their normal behaviour and their sense of the world, so I'm going to take the advice of the others and not get too stressed. As long as we deal with it then what else can you do??? You'd think I'd be used to it all second time round, but cjay didn't do any of this as he didn't like mixing full stop Grin

Back to school Monday and ajays big start at nursery on Wednesday, I'm so excited for him he will love it!
I've got my scan for gallstones on Wednesday too, hope they find something so it can then be dealt with.

VJayJazzle · 07/01/2012 17:13

barbie how're you doing? Has the bleeding stopped now?

4everhopeful · 07/01/2012 18:44

Thanks vjay (((hugs)))) back to you for yours too, not heartless at all, we all remember in different ways....

Think I'm just in remember mode cos I'm also gearing up to my Dddddddddads anniversary on tuesday, can't quite believe its been 6yrs, but again, am remembering with a smile, and will do the usual sending up of balloons and nice meal out with Dmum, Dh and Summer to raise a glass to him... Smile

BuddhaBelly · 07/01/2012 21:54

Thank you so much for reassuring me ladies, I do feel much better and will see how things go at nursery now they are disciplining him more than just a gentle talk!! Shock
Barbie How are you today? Has the bleeding stopped now? Hope you are doing as you're told and taking things easy?
4ever It is good that we have somewhere we can remember our sad anniversarys, I had my first erpc 4 years ago Tuesday Sad but like you I only have to look at E running round and it makes me feel OK with the world Smile
Vjay Here's to us chilling out and letting things happen as and when they should Grin bet we don't last til the end of the month Wink

Well TEW has arrived Sad but on a more positive note it was only 2 days early so hopefully things have settled down, roll on another cycle Smile

VJayJazzle · 08/01/2012 12:37

AArrgghh buddha the fecking EW, I'm Sad for you, but also pleased that your body is settling down Smile

I'm getting Cjay to write his thatnkyou letters at the mo, I did most of them combined for both boys, so he only has 3 to write to his teachers. I wrote out what he has to write so all he has to do is copy (he struggles with reading and writing), and so far he's done one and a half in 2 and a half hours Grin, we get there, just takes time.........I'm going to invent a thankyou letter writing app/game for his playstaion, he'll have them done in no time then Grin

MrsKate · 08/01/2012 13:25

Hi girls hope everyone is ok I have been lurking been working loads over Xmas and new yearAngry

Jack is doing great in his big boy bed having a few probs with potty training but we are getting there any tips anyone ??

Just a bit of advice needed on day 37 no af having symptoms but had ultrasound scan of abdo on day 34 day af should have come .can you see anything on scan at 4 weeks the radiographer did ask me if on pill or have heavy periods .not sure if she would say anything or not ?? Bit confused HmmHmm

VJayJazzle · 08/01/2012 14:04

Hi mrskate have you done a test? Im not sure but I'd doubt you'd see anything on a 4 week scan as its just so early, hopefully someone more knowledgable will be along soon Smile
No advice on potty training yet, we have the potty lying around and it's now gone from being pushed round like a car to now being a hat!! He does come into the bathroom with me at time and yesterday said mummy do a poo Blush probably TMI Grin

MrsKate · 08/01/2012 14:17

Scan was a general ultrasound was transvaginalConfusedBlush though

Jack say after dh went to toilet poo daddy smells and kept saying for a hour when we had people round Opps yeah potty is also a hat and to out cars in

Neeko · 08/01/2012 20:04

Hi all
Glad to see the thread picking up again. I havebeen lurking on my phone and posting messages in my head. Very helpful I'm sure.Hmm This will be a real attempt to catch up but apologies in advance if I miss someone/thing inportant.

Barbie Hope you're feeling a bit better. The last month is so uncomfortable. I'm still Shock by your lift story. It would be soo easy for that to happen and I have actuallly dreamt about it since Blush Loved the story about Dolly and the nappy checking! She sounds a right stormer and will be a fabby big sister.

4ever Hugs to you for Tuesday. I'm sure the pain becomes bearable but the sense of loss never goes. Sounds like Summer is coming on a treat. Know you've had plenty of replies about the speech but just to back up what others are saying about they can only really concentrate on one thing at a time. H has been very slow to speak compared to M although there's lots more words coming now (but still no sentences) M didn't walk until 17 months though so that's probably why. H does say mum/mummy a trillion times a day and even in her sleep! Would be dead cute if t weren't so bleeding annoying Grin

VjayHugs for your anniversary too. Bless Cjay and his time-taking over the thank yous. I went for the cheat's way out again this year and did kodak one's with pictures of the girls and a short message. Not as personal but MUCH less painful. I'm glad to hear someone else sends thank yous though as not many people I know do.

Buddha sorry that AF came but hopefully you're already in week one of your pregnancy by now. I really wouldn't worry too much about E hitting etc. They all do it and any mum who disapproves will get her come uppance one day! I think as long as you keep telling him no it'll alll improve in time. As his speech improves he'll be able to clype [sp] on everyone which he'll do loudly and at inappropriate times Grin
I was also really sorry to hear about your fried. Hope you are coping ok.

Cupcake I had a Smile at your DS being fed up opening presents. H was the complete opposite and couldn't open them quickly enough. Each opened parel received a "Wow!" before being rapidly discarded for more paper shredding. She is now enjoying the presents slowly but surely.

Blue Loving the renovation plans for this year. We were planning on having a quiet few months after doing two bathrooms, the bedroom and also the living room carpet recently but we need to fix the roof, side garage door, double garage main door and aerial after the storms Sad. I have been banned from buying the girls new anything for a wee while too. things tend to just fall into my shopping trolley. Oh and I'm a returner/ recycler too. I think it's such a waste of people's money to keep things that you won't wear/use.

LBM Glad the MIL was better than expected and the DC loved their robes. I did Grin at you being Envy of our girls sleeping late - I had been awake since 5.30am impatiently waiting on them waking and DH started squeaking floorboards at 7.30am Grin

MrsKate think as wiseandlovelyVjay said it'd be too early to see but did you test? As for potty training, I'm more inclined to wait until their over two so I wouldn't worry about Jack not getting it anytime soon.

Right. Going to post this before I lose it.
