curly any more news from you?? Sorry I didn't comment before... was going to ask if your afs have ever started with just brownish spotting? Mine sometimes used to so it was very confusing at the end of a cycle when ttc not knowing what was going on. Have you tested?

Really positive apt, bit of a cock up at the beginning due to his awful secretary incorrectly making me get a new referral, which meant i was down to see his registrar as a new patient, and i wasn't on his list! Luckily after explaining to a nurse I've been under his care since 2008, he came out of his office and was his usual lovely self and said he'd see us immediately nothings ever simple though eh?

Anyway, he was so great and considering all that he gave us so much time and was really explanatory about steroids, and treatment courses available to me on nhs, (only aspirin, cyclogest and steroids) as well as something else done privately, immunoglobin or something, which is a bit pricey but possibly to be considered, although as with steroids and cyclogest he agrees with the principles but are not proven 'cures'. However it was a bit alarming finally hearing his thoughts on the immunotherapy treatment we previously had at the Portland, he'd always said he didn't believe in it, but hadn't elaborated as obviously we'd pinned our hopes on it, yesterday he said he thought it could be dangerous, and when we pressed him to elaborate he said he believed it could compromise my immune system, as id introduced foreign immunity into my body by form of DH white cells, if for example i ever need an organ transplant, chances are i couldn't have one as my immune system is over sensitized and would automatically reject it, of course I'm trying to hold onto the thought that nothing in medicine is ever 100% and hopefully ill never need a transplant to find out! However, that's probably not the only issue and the idea of a compromised immunity does mean wed have to strongly consider whether wed go ahead with that treatment again in a future pregnancy, specially as the last time didn't work anyway. Another thought though is has the damage already been done so would it make any difference having more? Lots to think about for us... Sorry for the white coat requirement of this post!

Despite all this, he's a very lovely man and as usual his calming authorative manner made us feel reassured that it will work out for us, Summer sat quietly in her pushchair (unheard of!) almost in awe as he talked and cried when he left the room! As we already thought, we'll never know if Summer was the result of any, or all of the combined treatments, or whether it was just the right time, which is exactly what he said again to us yesterday. This is. probably one of the only medical areas that nothings ever conclusive!

So we left with a prescription for aspirin, steroids and cyclogest to be taken as soon as I'm pregnant again, then we go back to see him. He's also gonna prod EPU and has been locked in battle with them since preg with Summer about the neccesity of as manyscans as poss for all his patients after RMC....

Sorry to bluurb on another me post don't think i realised that yest i subconciously was a state, bit ratty and scatty and now have awful raw swollen throat, obviously was affecting me more than i allowed myself to realise!

There is a lot to think about there isn't there, you'll need a few days to process it all, but he does sound like a lovely doctor and an honest one too so you know all the facts. Just think, you had Summer, so you know you can do it xx

Hope you gave Summer a special treat for being so good, she must have realised how important it was bless her. Like the others have said there's a lot there to take in and big decisions to make, but you will come to the right decision for you guys, and it will be the right thing my lovely I have no worries about that. Maybe it was just luck and fairy dust that got you Summer but that doesn't mean it won't happen again x

Oh bless you lovely ladies... I've clearly been more emotional about all this than i realised cos your kind sweet supportive words have made me cry and I've slumped into all your arms for an enveloping bear hug! Buddha wierd looking or not, I'm enjoying it

Ah 4ever bless you, sounds like it was a very positive appointment despite feeling a bit about all the stuff you have to consider for next time. As buddha said though, there's no reason why you shouldn't have another healthy pregnancy like with lovely Summer.

Sorry I have been missing for so long, unfortunately I have had a few complications (though nothing too serious) that had meant a stay in hospital, was released yesterday so at least I can now enjoy the weekend. All fine now, so just on the waiting and watching game for labour to start! Got 1.5 weeks until due date!!!

Sorry, no time to catch up, have got so much else to catch up on, but can see 4ever has been incredibly brave and taken the next step and seen the doctor. really pleased he was so nice 4ever sounds like it has given you a lot to deal with and think about, i will join in with the group hug x

4ever lovely lady, I hope that you are okay. I know that Summer brings you so much joy but you are being so brave about everything. Please tell us when it gets too much and don't let it stop you telling us what you are going through. There is so much for you to work out, and it doesn't sound straightforward but your doc sounds wonderful (bet he's never even been on a golf course!). This thread is all about conception and we'll be there every step of the way for you. Bless little Summer for being such a good girl. I hope that my news today hasn't upset you xxx

Cupcake What time is your scan on Wednesday? I hope you got to read your book. It's definitely tricky to do these days try not to worry about symptoms disappearing. It is very normal at around 9 or 10 weeks.

Also I am v bored of x factor too...but then have been for about 3 years, not sure why I even watch it anymore haha!! Mischa is the only good one imo.

LBM no I haven't been outed yet but it's only a matter of time! I'm even hiding it from dd1 as she may be only 4 but she's not daft!

Last week I went to see my chest consultant (1st time since I've been pregnant) & he totally unexpectedly took me off my triple therapy pills. It was supposed to be a 2 year course & I've only done 6 months but he said that as I'm so well at the moment (& pregnant obv), he'd take me off them & see what happens. I feel like I've had my safety net pulled out from under me. The up-side is that I'll now be able to breast-feed. I also had a bit of a scare on Friday. I woke up & felt like I was going to have an upset tummy. I went to the toilet & horrors - I coated the whole of the bowl in blood, loads of blood. Thank goodness it was coming from my bum! All morning it was happening & I was feeling dizzy from the blood-loss. I saw my gp in the afternoon who said she was fairly confident it was piles. How can they bleed that much??? Anyway that seems to have settled down now thank goodness. Also thanks to Neeko for keeping me sane once again.

Sorry for such a short post. I will catch up properly soon but right now it's way past my bedtime!

4ever Great news on your appt - I'm going to text you some dates to meet soon, as I can't wait to see Summer. BabyBelle is just so cute at the moment ( apart from when she woke up at 5 this morning and then pulled a cup of coffee all over the cream bedroom carpet, cue mummy scrubbing the carpet at 6.30 this am and am still hoping that a miracle will happen and it will come clean but at least she didn't get the coffee on her ). The two girls together will be a lot of fun. Good to see you are on a level again - as the others have said, we all know that lots of love and magic produced your wonderful girl and it can and will happen again

curley what can I say but the best news ever!

MLS great news that the consultant thinks you're well enough to come off the drugs and that DD3 ( or even ds1) should be able to have mummys milk. He wouldn't have taken you off the meds if he didn't think you were well enough.

Half term has started here and so the candle is being burnt at both ends again - friends over for dinner tomorrow, theatre on Weds with older DC's and then on holiday on Friday. Oh and working all week too , ah well, I wouldn't like to get bored. Love to all - will try and post for longer soon. Sooo looking forward to the holiday - lots of lovely and very chilled family time .
