hey Mama! what is the CD abbreviation? educate me!

GTR - can i be nosey? I was just wondering why you're doing all the charting ov sticks etc so early on with number 1... are you in a hurry to conceive or just prefer the control? Would you consider 'taking a month off' the sticks and all that lark and just going with it? Sorry if that's intrusive. Are your long cycles to do with coming off the pill? Sometimes i do wonder if we 'try' too hard....

I was planning on doing the SMEP plan but don't know if i can be arsed with holding my pee in and not drinking for 4 hours a day just so i can POAOS!! I do want to get pregnant obviously but it's so regimed isn't it... kinda takes the fun out of it! Surely i can just bonk-a-lot!

LouLou - i have a feeling operation thong will work for you!! You are very dedicated!

Good to have you ladies to gossip, banter, rant about our stupid bodies with!

So loking forward to a long weekend of sunshine - hope you all have nice shagtastic plans! :)

GTR2882 · 29/09/2011 19:59

Oh Mama5 Thanks so very very much!! I just don't know how i would cope what I would do without you Grin

Well, just to throw another curve ball out there, got in from work and thought, what the heck, I'll POAOS and see what's what!! I think it's only bloody positive!!!! WOOHOO!!! and going off my last cycle I think I ov'd on CD45 and I might possibly only have a 10 day LP, which would fit in nicely with when I think im next due AF!!!!!!!

So needless to say, I'm currently sat here, pre-seeded up and raring to go (gotta give the pre-seed 15 mins to really get in there, think DH is currently lumbering up, IYKWIM Wink)

Will let you know if there is a massive temp spike in the morning! Might have to dtd tomorrow as well because the BFP/BFN saga left me feeling less than happy!!!

iloveberries · 29/09/2011 20:51

get in there girl!!!

tell me everything i need to know about pre-seed.... never used it and know nothing about it!

GTR2882 · 29/09/2011 21:21

berries not nosey at all!! I chart because of my long cycles - they have always been long, and SWI every other day for two months takes it's toll so I like to know what's happening when - did not chart at all the first couple of months so not been at it too long - plus I would like a large(ish) family and at 29 I need to get cracking! Have never had the highest of sex drives either so if I can plan SWI at the opportune moments it makes my life a lot easier!!

Pre-seed is great! It mimics EWCM, is sperm friendly and allows for great quickies :) I use it because I don't tend to get too much of the fertile CM so need to help those little spermies get to that eggy!!

DH and I have just decided to go full throttle with operation doggy style - every other day!! Will still take my temp and stuff but not gonna pay too much attention to it - just like to understand my body a bit better!! I'll be honest - could do without the whole CP checking thing doesn't really tell me anything anyway!!! Grin

GTR2882 · 29/09/2011 21:25

Oh and mama5 - I would still call it AF until it's completely gone but mark it on your chart as spotting rather than an actual AF day if that makes any sense!

louloubellamozzarella · 29/09/2011 21:28

Teehee, I'm imagining GTR and DH doing pre-SWI PE style warm up stretches in 80s aerobics gear with a pack of pre-seed in the background Grin

Talking of pre-seed, I may have used some this eve on first SWI of Operation Thong Wink - it's great stuff! Having commenced the Operation this time around with a proper plan and commitment not to get silly about things, I feel soo much more relaxed - GTR I can feel that things will be fiiiine - esp if ov time is here!

berries, pre-seed is basically lube which is water based and close to the make up of natural CM so it won't kill the sperm. Also, you kinda inject it up into the cervical direction (not sure how high it's actually meant to go, I just point and shoot - anyone else?!) so it helps the spermies on their merry way to your egg adding extra lubrication to make their passage easier. I think that's it!

I got mine off of amazon. A quick note - if you don't want anyone else to view what you've been buying and all related fertility/conception goodies (eg CM microscope, mm mm!) you should turn off recommendations and history on amazon - I speak from experience!! Blush and Blush

GTR2882 · 29/09/2011 21:35

Ha ha LouLou what's even funnier was DH strolling into the room trying to be all sexy, jumped on the bed and bloody broke it!! I couldn't stop laughing!!!! At least SWI is fun :)

blonderedhead · 29/09/2011 23:21

Pre-seed is indeed the shizzle. Although it has a terrible name. So much of this stuff does - why do I have to have a 'BabyMad' thermometer? It makes me feel like I spend my days stroking frilly babygros in Mothercare or obsessively following the baby names thread on Mumsnet

So I am trying all this Fertility Friend business and trying to get to know my cervix and its delightful outpourings, bit confused but ploughing on, so to speak. Also doing opks which have been negative but swi just in case as on CD11 now.

Enjoying hearing how all of you are getting on, especially the jumping on beds.

GTR2882 · 30/09/2011 06:41

Well ladies, temp went from a lowly 36.24 yesterday to a whopping 36.40 this morning putting me at 1dpo Grin although need a further 2 high temps for FF to confirm! Feeling amazingly relaxed and happy and even if we are not successful this cycle at least I know I'm ov-ing and I understand my cycle a bit more!! Next cycle will be so much more relaxed now!! CP still high and soft but CM is a mystery because of DHs love juice Blush

How is everyone else fairing?

I also want to say a big thanks Thanks to you all for being so supportive and understanding whilst I constantly moaned about my badly behaving body :)

iloveberries · 30/09/2011 07:34

hahaha this thread is so funny!!! :) It really cheers me up!! Not that i'm depressed but on a slightly blue day it does make me laugh.

GTR - the bed story made me roar with laughter :) brilliant! Glad you are feeling a bit better, feeling completely out of control is the worst isn't it. Completely understand the charting, every other day for 2 months would destroy me too! With the humour and fun you guys had it may have been lucky for you. fingers crossed :)

Well i am on operation shag everyother day now too - started on tues and will continue till a week tomorrow i think... then it's waiting time.....

blonde/loulou/mama - hope you all have shagtastic weekends.

Guess we all have to keep our fingers crossed and legs open!! (is that too crude? well since we all share CM stories i guess not!)

I have today off so taking DS out for the day in the sun - random weather, great isn't it!

louloubellamozzarella · 30/09/2011 09:10

Glad you're feeling chilled and ready for some (Indian) summer loving GTR, that's what we like to hear! Hope your bed is ok anyway - at least it gives you a good excuse to try out some - ahem - different places Wink

berries yep, it's nice to check in with you guys to enjoy the bizarre business of TTC. And altho we like a moan (like, no I love a moan) nice to see we're not taking things too seriously and can see the funny side of these things.

Another lovely summer day today. I've bought my running stuff into work again today but if it's going to be anything like yesterday I'm tempted to just get into my trainers and walk to the corner shop for a Juicy Lucy (do they still sell those?!)

I'm busy all weekend yet again on a course - typical, just as we have a blazing hot weekend. DP is out tomorrow night so will be grabbing some action tonight (desperate, moi?) Hope you all enjoy your summery SWI this weekend.

GTR2882 · 30/09/2011 09:24

Well indeed loulou for some reason I am now just really happy - it's bizarre!! And definitely not taking it too seriously anymore, it will happen when it happens! I think relaxing is the best way forward!! I am not to sure if I should SWI tonight as well, is it really worth it?? I mean i ov'd yesterday so any spermies released today will be wasted surely!! Hmmm!! Maybe POAOS one last time for this cycle and see if the surge is still surging!!

mrsshears · 30/09/2011 11:15

Excuse me for gatecrashing/bus crashingBlush

I gave up ttc a few weeks ago as we had been trying for 10mths with a mc during that time.
However we didnt go back to using contraception and yesterday i got a surprise bfp! so i would definately support the fact that relaxing helps alot
FX for all of you.

WishingIWasLucky · 30/09/2011 11:17

Please forgive me for gatecrashing too! Got a bfn on cd 23 of a 25 day cycle. Can I trust this? Thanks!

GTR2882 · 30/09/2011 11:24

Oh Mrsshears fantastic news!!! Congratulations :)

wishing i would wait until you have missed AF or at least maybe test again on the day AF is due!!

WishingIWasLucky · 30/09/2011 11:33

So no wine tonight then, GTR? :( prolonging the agony methinks, no symptoms or anything...

GTR2882 · 30/09/2011 11:41

Well one probably wouldn't hurt, my DH's cousins wife is pg with her second and she sometimes has the odd glass!! And as for no symptoms, some women don't get any, even when they are looking :) I sometimes remind myself that there are loads of women out there that don't obsess closely monitor their bodies and they have no idea they are pg until AF is late and they suddenly think "ooh, could i be pg!?!"

Fx for you and let us know when you next plan to test :)

WishingIWasLucky · 30/09/2011 11:45

That's so very kind, thanks GTR. Will have a smallish glass tonight then!
No more tests in house. Not planning to buy any until missed period- if I'm lucky enough! Last two cycles were 25 days, otherwise always been 28. So, if I don't come on by next Friday, I'll test then! So, until then have convinced myself am not pregnant!

festiemum · 30/09/2011 11:53

Well done Mrsshears! Hi all, been keeping my head down after a period of tsunami proportions, and just as we're getting ready to get back into the SWIng of things (see what I did there?!) We hit a problem.

It's something that has been becoming an issue over the past couple of months; cut a long story short - DH had a heart attack in April and open heart surgery in May. Since, he's been on a cocktail of drugs that are supposed to keep his blood pressure and cholesterol down and generally keep him alive! The trouble is, some of these drugs make him feel shit, and they are now making him impotent!

He saw his GP this morning, who was sympathetic and gave him a private prescription for Viagra (apparently, you can't have an NHS prescription for Viagra unless you're a diabetic, or have a referral from somewhere else). As luck would have it, he's got an appointment at the Lipid clinic this afternoon, and they could do the referral if they agree. I am crossing fingers, as DH is self-employed, and as you can imagine, a heart attack and major op doesn't exactly equals big money in the Festie household at the moment!

I hate the thought that we're going to have to ration SWI or SWOI because the pills are too pricey!!

Sorry, that was long. Hope you're all OK. Sounds like your cycle may finally be giving you some clues GTR - hope that is the case! :)

GTR2882 · 30/09/2011 12:01

Oh festie so sorry to hear of the difficulties you are experiencing (kind of puts mine into perspective :)) hope that everything is well with your DH and that the Viagra does the trick and you get some SWI in - maybe just try to time it around the time that you ov Hmm

Yes, my body has decided it does what to get pg afterall, so crossing everything for a swift 2ww Grin

WishingIWasLucky · 30/09/2011 12:04

So sorry to hear your news festie. Hope you turn a corner now, and things start to improve soon. You really have had quite a tough time. Feel free to come here and share, and for advice. Here's some Thanks. good luck.

WishingIWasLucky · 30/09/2011 12:05

FX for your BFP GTR! :)

GTR2882 · 30/09/2011 12:08

Thanks wishing and for yours Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 30/09/2011 13:51

Congrats for your good news mrsshears - hope things go well for you and we hope to come and harass join you soon with our BFPs :)

Ah festie what a hard year you and DP have had. Take care of yourself and good luck with the referral. Hope this weekend of sunshine gives you a nice positive boost. Oh and please feel free to hang around here if you like. You can amuse yourself by sniggering at me convincing myself that I'm pregnant every other day Grin

Fingers crossed for you wishing!!

iloveberries · 30/09/2011 14:51

mrshears great news :) Relaxing is the new Trying.

wishing - sorry you got a BFN, really glad you're not going to test till next week though. This is the good luck plane so even if it's not a BFP this month, buckle up and you'll be in with a good shot next month! I think you should have a glass of wine tonight. It's friday and life is too short.

festie - sounds stressful. hope the referral goes well.

DS down for a nap so i'm off to sunbathe - loving it!
