Hi berries. Oh, we like plans here Grin erm what's the SMEG plan??

Talking about plans, July's SWI is from this point onwards Operation Thong (off to browse some sexy undies now...)

Elsebells - yes, I'm sure you would also qualify for fertility treatment as he needs you to bake the baby, so to speak, right? I've heard of people who have low sperm count trying supplements to boost the motility of their sperm, so that the ones that are there are good swimmers. Have no idea of the specifics of your circumstances, but I'm sure there must be some info on what you can do out there (or somewhere on MN), hope you get some more info and can start looking at solutions.

GTR, fingers x-d for you!! Stay awayyy AF, stay awayyy - she's so busy on pretty much everyone else on this thread that she can't have any more time for anyone else surely.

I can't believe that so many of us have been knocked out this month - boooo. However, by the power of greyskull (and my totally unfounded understanding of stats) this definitely means that probability is lying in our favour for the next time around, yes? ???????

GTR2882 · 27/09/2011 13:19

Well, i went to the loo to take another test; not entirely sure this is a BFN as i am certain, as faint as it is, that there is a line and i am sure that it's got colour to it - the only thing i can;t be sure of is whether it came up in the time frame Confused. Whilst there i thought i would check my CM/CP and my CP was low and really really soft and wet!! My CM at first was creamy, then i had a liitle more of a delve around and got some EWCM!!!!!!! Is this normal??? Should i have signs of fertile cm when AF is due???

This is now throwing doubt over everything - maybe i haven't even ov'd yet?!?!? ARGH!!!! Confused

iloveberries · 27/09/2011 15:40

hey ladies - the smeg plan is the "sperm meets egg plan". I am sure most of you are doing this in one form or another anyway since you're all actively TTC. You can read more details here.

www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm

Had a chat with DH this afternoon and we've decided to buy a Clearblue Fertility monitor incase this month isn't ours.... I was desperate to just do it every other day and see but i don't seem to be able to relax and wait - even though i know i'll probably have to!!! They seem to have such great results and much easier than temping etc. I know it's expensive but with DS nursery fees at £60 a day, one CBFM seems like a drop in the ocean!!!

GTR - Fingers crossed for you. I don't want to make you miserable but i had lots of EWCM before my last AF arrived.... sometimes in the build up to AF you get another 'batch' of EWCM.

for gawds sake, i wish a could wave a wand and knock you all up! come on girls, this is OUR MONTH!!!!!!!

GTR2882 · 27/09/2011 15:52

Thanks berries that's what i thought :( looks like another evap then!!

Oh well - next month (whenever that is likely to be!!) will try harder!!!

iloveberries · 27/09/2011 18:48

BUT - I also read that women get the EWCM before a BFP....

the answer is obviously "don't google anything, ever" It will either stress you out or get your hopes up!!!

BUT - there was a line so you could leave it a few days and try again.... hard waiting isn't it.

2 more friends announced pregnancies today. I am so so happy for them both but it's hard to not wish it was me too. Do you girls tell people you're trying or not? I didn't with DS but i didn't know anyone with kids so no-one would have cared - now all i get is "when are you going to have another one?" and it really pi**es me off. I know people are not meaning to be insensitive but i do wonder whether i'm best to say "we're working on it" rather than just be vague..... at least that might stop the questions....

GTR2882 · 27/09/2011 19:04

Thanks berries you are definitely right about googling things it's a nightmare!! But so easy and tempting!! I have never had EWCM so it's odd that it has appeared now!!! Am gonna test in the morning.......again!!

As for telling people about TTC I have only told my best friend!!! Don't really want the pressure of family knowing and potentially asking questions all the time!! I think that would stress me out even more!!!

Notinmykitchen · 27/09/2011 20:01

Hi all,

GTR, just to confuse you further I am fairly sure I had EWCM when I was pregnant with DS, although it was nearly 5 years ago now so I don't entirely trust my memory. Still have everything crossed for you!

berries, I was determined not to tell anyone, but as time has gone on I've told the odd person. My Mum, sister, and 2 friends now know. I try not to moan about it too much to DH, so it helps to have someone to talk to about it. I'm intrigued by the SMEG plan. I feel some Googleing is in order this evening.

GTR2882 · 27/09/2011 20:10

kitchen did you have a lot or just a bit because when I last checked my CP is still low but a lot firmer and closed and CM is creamy again!! Not too much either!! Have no idea what's going on and the cramps are still making me think AF is imminent yet the pinching sensation makes me think something else is going on!!!

iloveberries · 27/09/2011 20:40

oh GTR i soooo have my fingers crossed for you! REALLY hoping you get good news. it would make my day to read of a BFP on here!

yes - i have only told my mum and 2 best friends and think i will leave it at that.

i think the smeg plan might be called the smep plan... either way it's on the link on my previous post. Worth a try.... I like to feel i am 'doing' something to help nature along!

off to bed now - i know it's only 8.30 but i am so shattered and these days if there's to be any shagging we have to go to bed before 9. sad isn't it!

GTR2882 · 27/09/2011 20:42

Ha ha berries, I normally do it straight after work, gets it out the way!! Have lost my mojo recently though!! I'm off to bed soon too, no fun for me though need some rest!

Good luck with the BDing - we all need shiny BFPs this month :)

Mama5isalive · 27/09/2011 23:51

hi all - sad to see not BFP while i have been away flying my AF plane and now its coming into land! so GTR still no answers to whats going on up there!
oh GTR body please give her a break!
hi Loulou - glad to see your doing a good job and keeping "all in" flight info upto date with everything Operation Thong related!
kitchen - i think its good to share what your going through with people who can support you.
berries - im sure youll share as much or as little as you feel comfortable too!
hope the cbfm helps you get your bfp!
this is a short haul flight heading for BFPs!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
GTR2882 · 28/09/2011 06:39

Morning ladies!! Hope you are enjoying this flight to BFP!!! Temp Rose higher this morning no sign of AF :) so decided to POAS and a faint line came up within the timeline! Me, being me however, am still not satisfied with that because firstly it's a blue dye test and secondly I've been stung with false positives before! This is Boots own brand - anyone had any luck with them? So whilst on the loo I used one of my one step preg tests and as always that was a firm BFN! I have never had anything else but faulty tests or BFNs with them so was holding out much hope!! I left it for about 15 mins and thought 'what the hell' I'll use what's left of FMU in my bladder and crack open the CBD!!!

Well, needless to say that cane back a resounding Not Pregnant so looks like yet another false positive :(

We need some BFPs soon to lift this thread (or St least my spirits)! Cervix back to high, firm & closed!!!

louloubellamozzarella · 28/09/2011 08:18

Ohh GTR, I'm so sorry how cruel to have a BPF then BFN. It is unusual to have a false positive though from what I've heard. Ok, not encouraging you to waste all your money on tests but I've heard that superdrug own brands are amongst the best if you do want to buy any more...

AF is over for me (phew) so I'm back to SWI - one night on, one night off SWI starts tonight! If there's an egg the it won't be. able. to avoid. the spermies. Mama5 if you're starting your own Operation [insert as appropriate] then you might be testing around the same time if AF's over now?!?

berries thanks for the SMEG plan, I think I vaguely remember seeing it as SMEP plan before but that link is much better and clearer. With my plan of SWI every other day I think I have it covered although very intrigued about the advice to take a decongestant cough syrup to loosen up your CM!! Plans trip to chemists at lunch.... Wink

Oh, and I swore DP to secrecy with TTC as I like the idea that it's a complete surprise to everyone when (if!) we do announce that we're preggers. Also the pressure thing - I know what our families are like, I'd have my mum buying us fertility aids and checking up on us every day Blush. Although I did let slip to one best friend who is also TTC. She kinda guessed though as I went quiet when she was talking about it (am awful at lying). It's so nice to be able to talk to people about it though especially as this is our first time and I'm so clueless!!

louloubellamozzarella · 28/09/2011 08:22

*BFP i did of course mean. Curse the sticks.

verycherry82 · 28/09/2011 09:08

GTR, I tested on boots own brand basic pregnancy test and got a BFP. It was faint though. I'm not sure how dark their dye gets IYSWIM as I did another one a coule of days later and it was still really faint. Leave it a bit and try another digital? Fingers crossed for you! It sounds like the signs are very encouraging though!!

GTR2882 · 28/09/2011 09:26

Thanks verycherry!! Yeah the line was very faint but is definitely blue and came up within 2 mins. What dpo were you when you tested?? I am 15 today and according to FF AF is due today - definitely no show as CP is high, firm and closed! Have some cramping though and a headache! Feel a bit light headed as well!! I am just scared that I may not have ov'd and therefore there is no chance, despite what my chart says! Confused

Have asked DH to get some Superdrug tests as he works in a shopping centre and the one near me is closed for refurbishment so can't get there today! Will test again with fmu in the morning!! This is becoming an obsession!! Grin

iloveberries · 28/09/2011 09:39

oooh - feeling hopeful for you.

When i was pregnant with DS i used Tesco own brand which were great. And inexpensive.....

Let's think positive thoughts!

louloubellamozzarella · 28/09/2011 09:43

I think it's about time we gots ourselves a stats list so that we can keep a track on when we'll be testing in October and getting our BFPs Grin

I'll trawl through and dig out the ones that people have put in so far but if you haven't then please throw in yours and I'll paste em in.

iloveberries · 28/09/2011 09:44

p.s. loulou - i think SWI every other day has got it covered.... Basically all we can influence is that there are sperm 'in there' throughout the month... the rest is just nature...

I have a question - I have a hen weekend planned fri - sun right when I think I will be ovving. DH works at home fridays so we can SWI on friday afternoon when DS has his nap, then swe can SWI sunday when I am back so only one day missed (and i'm not going to miss out on the hen as that would be silly!) My question is - Would you girls limit your drinking on the hen? We don't drink much in the week but on a hen i would usually have a lot of wine (probably 4 or 5 glasses) each night.... Do you think this could upset anything?

When I was TTC DS I was drinking a lot almost every night as we were on honeymoon... conceived him month 2 of trying so maybe there was something to be said for being so relaxed!

What do you reckon?!

GTR2882 · 28/09/2011 09:50

Berries - i say it cant harm and as you said, when you were a lot more relaxed it came a lot more easier!! And you are on a hen, it's not as if this is a regular occurence! I say go out and enjoy yourself - as long as there are spermies there to meet the egg that's all that matters!! Think of all those women who go out and get absolutely wasted and fall pg and don't even realise and then continue to drink. I had a friend who fell pg before honeymoon and did not know and was drink very heavily! She's now 6 months - so anything is possible :)

louloubellamozzarella · 28/09/2011 09:50

berries I'm not sure about the science of it but personally, I'd try to limit my drinking a bit maybe by having 2/3 glasses instead of the 4/5. That would only be to make sure I felt good the morning after and not too hungover/tired out to SWI on the Sunday and generally to make sure I kept things good health wise! I'm sure someone else who actually knows what this may/may not do to your fertility will jump in to fill you in though!

GTR2882 · 28/09/2011 09:59

Oh Loulou, yes, that is a much better suggestion than mine :) yes, i agree, go with that!! Don't listen to my whacky advice - if populating the world was left up to me, we'd just all be drunk and leaving it to chance!! Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 28/09/2011 10:11

Hah x posts there! TBH though I wouldn't get too hung up on it. Go out and have a good time. If you feel like you want to limit your drinking as it'd make you feel better then do, but don't beat yourself up about it if you fancy another glass.

I meant to say, that's only something I would do now after going on a hen a week or so after deciding TTC, drinking a lot of cocktails and wine and yucky VKs then feeling really gross and out of action for a few days afterwards. Most people would have a higher threshold than me :)

Like GTR said, so many women drink while not realising they're up le duff and it does the baby no harm. Drinking moderately doesn't affect your fertility as far as I know. The evidence I've seen is that drinking usually only affects the baby's development if it is excessive and regular.

verycherry82 · 28/09/2011 10:19

GTR, I'm not sure how many dpo I was. AF was due on the Monday though and I tested with the boots test the following Saturday. The First Response test game me a BFP on the Tuesday. I have PCOS though so I think my clycle was longer than I thought and in fact AF wasn't due on that Monday as the test at the Doctors on Thursday was negative.

Berries, enjoy the hen weekend! I think there is a lot to be said for being relaxed when you are ttc and if a few glasses of wine is what you fancy then go ahead!!

loulou, good luck with the plan!!

sweetpb · 28/09/2011 11:18

well i'm packing my bags ready to head to the airport! day 26, internet cheapie said BFN but still waiting to see how long my cycle really will be, hoping the metformin will work so i can chart when i will be most fertile!!
