I always used to have a 30ish day cycle but since I had a Mirena removed in July, my last 2 cycles have been 26 days. I am now at CD27 and had positive ov stick results 14 days ago, sooo... I will be POAS tomorrow morning. I did have a sneaky POAS last Monday and that was bfn, so that is helping me stay cool, but wish me luck!!!! Someone needs to start a run of bfp's!! xxx

needinstructions · 20/10/2011 13:05

Aren't we a bit early for the BFPs on this thread yet? Eg if I get a BFP this month, I'll be due 6th July but AF not due til next Friday at the earliest so presumably any missed periods and POSing should be starting any time now for those potentially due at the very beginning of July (sorry, I know it's different for those with horribly long cycles).

Let's not give up hope yet!

floralflora · 20/10/2011 13:14

Yes needinstructions, I think it depends on cycle length, though I'm not sure why? If I use a due date calculator, if I put 26 day cycle in, it gives me a June due date but when I put 30 day cycle, it gives me a July date. Anyway, yes you're right, I guess we wouldn't be expecting many bfp's on this plane yet.

needinstructions · 20/10/2011 13:26

Has anyone started thinking about when they might POAS yet? I know the ideal is to wait until AF is overdue but I'm away without DH that day and for a couple of days after so that's my excuse reason for wanting to test early.

Also, this is very definitely the last time I will be TTC so I'm kind of milking it. Not that DH and I EVER discuss it (other than the actual decision to TTC of course!) but I'm really enjoying having people to share this stuff with - even if it is on an anonymous internet forum Grin and have no qualms about wasting spending lots of money on tests so I can find out asap.

And it's a far more interesting topic than b*stard work. Need that BFP so I can tell them to stuff their job (well, for the duration of mat leave anyway, then I'd need to come crawling back...)

floralflora · 20/10/2011 13:38

Cancel that message of all of, what is it, 10 minutes ago?!! AF just arrived!

Big decision for DH and I now, though. I get winter blues and having a newborn in autumn would be very stressful. I will probably wait until May next year to ttc. However I'm 40 in May so don't really want to wait too long. Hmm, got some thinking to do.

Handing the baton on to the next in line for POAS Smile.

floralflora · 20/10/2011 13:39
  • Whoa, bad grammar there! "Big decision for DH and me..." x
Maisie55 · 20/10/2011 13:47

Sorry to hear about all the AF's! Its easy to say but try not to let it get you down too much, at least you can get cracking with the next cycle! (trying to stay positive!!)

I think I have decided that if AF shows up this time I will get a CBFM and give that a go, reckon its worth a try and I saw them for £65 on Amazon last night. Serious lack of SWI here as DH working late a lot so need to knuckle down over the next few days!! [hwink]

Notinmykitchen · 20/10/2011 14:19

Nearlymum, hope I am lucky this month, doubt it though, been trying for ages. I usually have three bits of the 2WW. The first couple of days its just relief that I've done what I can, then I move onto the bit I'm at now, where I feel all hopeful. Then cramps start and I try desperately to cling to the hope that AF is not on its way, then it all starts again!

Flora, sorry to hear AF got you, thats rubbish!

Needinstructions, DH and I never discuss it either, except when I have to ask him to do his bit. He would think I was loopy if I told him most of what I am thinking. I do discuss it a bit with my sister and one friend but I don't think either of them really get it either. MN is a lifesaver!

needinstructions · 20/10/2011 14:19

I'm sorry floral, that must be a really difficult decision but you are being very sensible in considering when you would find it extra stressful with a newborn. I struggled emotionally for my DS's first year for various reasons which might have been avoided had DH and I thought things through better (in our case we probably rushed into parenthood together too quickly). I love DS to bits but do wish that I'd been in a better headspace so that I could have enjoyed the early months more.

Is there anything (short of moving to the Southern Hemisphere for 6 months!) that you can do to alleviate the winter blues so that you could consider having a baby then?

GTR2882 · 20/10/2011 15:16

Afternoon everyone - wow this thread is moving along like the speed of sound!! Kitchen so good to see you back here!!! Hope you get that lovely BFP in 10 days time [hgrin] and yes, I too do quite enjoy the 2ww - its almost a sense of freedom!

Have not had a chance to collate all the info yet, but do not fret, I am on the case!! Just off to POAOS as I have bravely held my wee wee for 4 hours now Grin

GTR2882 · 20/10/2011 15:18

Oh floral damn that bloody evil coniving hag whore on her stupid rat infested broom!!!

princessesmummy · 20/10/2011 18:05

think I will join now. was in the June bus for a while untill af got me. fx to everyone this month. I'm just over half way into the 2ww. if I'm lucky this month will have a late June or very early July baby.

GTR2882 · 20/10/2011 19:37

*I meant conniving!! Epic spelling fail!

MrsSharp · 20/10/2011 19:37

...right, I'm going to stop lurking where the air stewards hang out and chatter at the back of the plane, and take my seat on this flight. Hello! I'm currently on my 2ww, due on 28th oct, ttc no 2. I'm SS like an old pro, and have been having some weird aches in my right hand side. Not sure if I've ever noticed these before on a normal cycle. Unless I'm only just ovulating, but my cycles are really quite regular 26-29days, so don't think so. Haven't done any temps/ov sticks but may do if af turns up. Last time I got a BFP with ds, I waited until af was a whole 5 days late, but am not sure I'll be able to do that this time!

nearlymumofone · 20/10/2011 19:46

Welcome MrsSharp is this your first month ttc#2? I'm also due about 28th Oct so have a seat next to me!

I too have been symptom spotting, but I have taken it to a new and completely ridiculous level: Since having ds I have (really annoyingly) got spots round my chin (like dozens of them) every month mid-end cycle. But none so far this month (cd21 of 25-27 cycle) but instead have got a spot on neck and forehead. So what do I think???? go on, guess...? Yes, it seriously crosses my mind that this anomoly is indeed a sign that I am pregnant. I even google it (yes you're right, nothing. not a thing). I think I need to be sectioned. What am I going to be like in 6 months time of ttc if I'm this crazy now??! I have no hope.

cherrypiew3 · 20/10/2011 20:57

Welcome princess and mrssharp

GTR or anyone in the cabin crew i need a little help. This may sound silly coming from someone who already has 3dc but we have always been really relaxed about ttc. I do not feel like that this time and feel i need to concentrate more on the whole ttc thing. So here goes the stupid question what signs should i be looking for that tells me now is the time to swi. I am not wanting to temp or anything like that at the moment just would like to know what to look out for in the knicker checking department really.

GTR2882 · 20/10/2011 21:56

cherry the main thing is watery or EWCM!! Ideally you should be trying to SWI EOD but I am more than aware that this is not possible! So if you are lucky enough to get the fertile CM this is a great indicator that your body is preparing to ov! I would suggest having SWI the moment you see the watery CM and I would increase the activity when it becomes egg white and no stop SWI until it has completely disappeared!!

The other thing to check is your CP, at the same time once every day (never any more than once as it can move about!) when this starts to rise to a high position then SWI should be engaged in and once it's SHOW (soft high open and wet) then definitely get as much SWI in as possible!!

Hope that helps!!

louloubellamozzarella · 20/10/2011 22:16

Hi princess and mrsshears :)

Just got me a bargain £52 clearblue monitor + 20 sticks - let the ov SS begin - can't wait to get started, what a geek! [hgrin]

Maisie55 · 20/10/2011 22:51

loulou that is a bargain, where did you find this deal?

Its amazing how much time we spend obsessing isn't it?!

GTR2882 · 21/10/2011 06:19

mama5 great to see you again hope you get Internet sorted soon and that everything went smoothly with the move!! Sorry that the witch got you!! I think this flight went slightly off course whilst on autopilot but now that you are back at the helm we should have a smoother and more successful journey!!!

CD70 here! No surge but gonna SWI anyway tonight and over the weekend too and see what happens! Have a feeling though that if that eggy is going to be released it will be next weekend, and I'm away at the in-laws!! Will have to try and get some SWI in nonetheless though!!! [hgrin]

GTR2882 · 21/10/2011 07:09

Does anyone know whether weight loss whilst TTC can reduce the chance of catching that egg?? I need to lose a little more weight but don't want this to hinder my chances of conceiving!! Also, does anyone have a good diet plan? Thanks

oggy24 · 21/10/2011 07:31

mama You have up until CD 5 to receive your CBFM. After 5 days following the first day of AF, the CBFM will not allow you to start until next cycle.

GTR The only things I have read about losing weight while TTC are good ones as long as you are actually overweight. It apparently gives a bit of a wake up call to the system sometimes. I have basically just cut out carbs and things high in fat (I still have the odd treat). All in all, I have lost 18lb in the last couple of months but that is because I have SO much to lose.

I had yet another peak today on my CBFM. No idea whats going on.

nearlymumofone · 21/10/2011 07:58

Morning all!

loulou I'm just waiting for mine in the post! I'll be starting next week using it for the first time. We can work through it all together!

needinstructions · 21/10/2011 08:45

Morning everyone,

I am going against the grain here and will not be buying a CBFM, I just know that it would send me doolally - I don't think I'd be able to get my head round the idea that it doesn't guarantee a BFP! Though respect to all you with a few more braincells and the ability to use knowledge to positive ends Wink

Horrific day ahead at work so I will bow out for the time being, but will pop back later if I get chance. I'm not sure when I'll next be back online otherwise (I don't like posting from home in case DH clocks how obsessive I'm getting and objects to me sharing details of our sex life ) so fx for some BFPs in the next few days.

My new master plan is to POAS on Tues am then again on Wed am and if that's a BFN I will wait til after AF due (28th). Maybe...
