Mushroom wish I could offer advice, but I'm clueless. I'm sure CM guru GTR will be along to assist Smile

GTR2882 · 14/10/2011 22:01

Mushroom can I ask how long your cycles are? And when AF came last!! Might help me to determine where you are in your cycle and what the latest CM means! Is it watery/EWCM?

GTR2882 · 14/10/2011 22:04

Thanks nearly will maybe POAS Sunday if not will definitely be Tuesday!

MushroomMagee · 14/10/2011 22:08

Cycles are about 31 days, and my last AF was on the 24th sept. It was ewcm but not completely clear. But its been EWCM the whole time Confused

GTR2882 · 15/10/2011 07:46

Good morning ladies!!! I'm really trying to resist the urge to POAS!!!!! Damn Amazon for being so efficient [hgrin]

mushroom I have been doing some investigation into your CM and my calcs seem to idicate that ov would have taken place around the 8th/9th which does coincide with your EWCM that you had on the 6th and 8th! We can get EWCM in drabs throughout our cycle so I would not worry to much of you have a bit now! If you temp that might be able to tell you when ov occurred!!! How's the CM today?

blonderedhead · 15/10/2011 09:16

What were you doing wrong GTR?

DeeLite · 15/10/2011 09:17

Well done GTR2882 - you are being very strong.

Not sure what's happening here. My cycles have been pretty regular the past five or six months with ovulation on CD18 of a 28 day cycle. CD 18 was yesterday for me but I had very little CM this month and only a faint line on my OPK and still no temp shift. I'm now on CD19 and really fed up of SWI (six days running) and thinking there's little point anyway as I'm ovulating too late for implantation to take place before the old hag arrives on CD28.

Four out of six of my NCT lot are now preggers so I'm feeling a bit left behind [hsad].

Is it bad form to ask how long people have been trying? Don't answer if you don't want to. This is my third cycle which sounds early to be worrying but I had been charting prior to that so we were right on the ball straight away. I mentioned it to the doc but he said it was perfectly normal for it to take a year - not sure I'd survive a year of this.

louloubellamozzarella · 15/10/2011 09:35

Very good waiting GTR - yes amazon's delivery is way too efficient - it's caused me to waste many an ov stick. Any more symptoms or is it just a waiting game now?

Nothing for me here, planning to test middle of next week if no AF.

Morning deelite this is my third cycle too - although my first was straight off the pill so I don't know if that one counted. And as have had no periods prior to that for about eight yrs had not a clue what my cycles were up to! Only really getting to grips with that now. God knows how long this business will take...

Sounds like you're doing the right things by being aware of your cycle but I think there's only so much you can do. The rest is due to biological chance (damnit). Is there any aspect of charting (temping maybe) that you could stop doing to help you relax a bit? As you now know your cycle length etc you could just look out foor CM and not having to temp or whatever every day could help to ease your mind off TTC? Just a thought anyway.

I can cite no evidence but I personally think being generally happy and healthy is as important as charting etc. Make sure you look after yourself. Maybe something like acupuncture or reflexology would help you feel like you're doing something about TTC but also help you to relax? [hsmile]

MushroomMagee · 15/10/2011 10:25

Thank you GTR, that is very reassuring :) CM is non existent this morning so I'm hoping its just a blip... its just so confusing as I am normally so predictable!
I have been trying to resist doing temp as I think it would make me a bit unhinged obsessive, I have a tendancy to get slightly erm, anxious!
I think if the AF gets me this month then I might, or at least some ov sticks!

I have my fingers crossed for you GTR let us know when you do!

Deelite this is our first month of trying, but I know what you mean about feeling a bit left behind, if we conceive this month we will have 2.11 between children, and everyone else has 2 years it seems. Everyone we know is either pregnant with their second or already has 2! I'm not sure I could take a year of it either!

festiemum · 15/10/2011 10:55

Thanks for your indignation on my behalf ladies, I really appreciate it! DH coined 'broken willy' GTR and it made me giggle too!!

Well, I've decided I have to just let go this month, and hope for the best. My chart is next to useless. Temps have been either flatlining, or wildly out in random places, so I think my thermometer technique leaves a lot to be desired, and I'm not getting accurate temps. (What were you doing wrong out of interest, GTR?) So, hoo ha temping is the way forward, though it's not going to be any good this cycle cos it's obviously higher altogether.

I also cocked up on the CM front this month too. For some bizarre reason, I decided to check my CM using the two finger technique, which draws the CM directly off the cervix, and I think that's why I've had so much ewcm. When I check in my normal fashion (i.e. one finger up my hoo ha) I just get sticky.

So (deep breath) the only sign I can rely on this month I think is CP, which behaved exactly as it should do, going low and firm on CD18. I managed to get back into my old account on FF yesterday, and saw all the charts from TTC all my children, and I've ov-ed on day 17/18 consistently across the board! I've over-rided; stuck ov day in at CD17, and all I can do now is sit tight and wait and see what happens!

Whatever; no more SWI for us till DH manages to score some more LBP, so no point stressing about it!

floralflora · 15/10/2011 11:13

Loulou I'll be testing middle of this week too Smile. Anyone else testing this week?

GTR2882 · 15/10/2011 12:01

Hi ladies!!

festie and blonde, basically I mis-read the instructions (although they weren't the easiest to follow) i think in my impatience to get cracking with the charting, I only skim read the instructions and I'll be honest, i got it completely wrong. Basically, I was supposed to put the thermometer straight into my mouth after switching it on and when the 4 beeps went off i could read my temperature. Instead i was waiting for the 4 beeps before putting it in my mouth and counting the required time (sometimes unto a minute and a half) - so my temps could not have been very accurate and it's much easier now, so wanting the witch to arrive so that i can move onto next cycle!!

loulou there is sadly nothing to report at the moment, i think it's just a case of waiting for my MIA AF to arrive so that i can move on. I'm now taking the approach that it will happen when it happens!!! Although have not had any SWI or SWOI for a while (thinking that maybe I am pg, so have not really been in the mood). When the hag whore finally does park up on her broom, I think I will be more focussed next cycle [hgrin]

Deelite I am moving into my 6th month but actually only my 3rd cycle because they are so ridiculously long (am on CD64 today [hshock])

GTR2882 · 15/10/2011 12:02

floral i am going to try and hold out until Thursday!!! Am out of the office all day Monday and won't be back til late and FF is suggesting testing on the 20th so I think I will hold tight!

festiemum · 15/10/2011 12:47

You are holding out amazingly well, GTR! I think I'd be going bonkers waiting for answers. But, I guess you know that if AF turns up you can go back to your GP and get some answers about when you're ov-ing, and if you get your BFP you won't much care about when you were ov-ing! (Be interesting trying to work your due date out with those cycles, though! [hwink])

Floral - not sure when to test. If normal cycle length applies, AF should be due on Sat, so could test next week... Might try and wait till the weekend though, since this cycle has been so confusing!!

Deelite - This too is my third month. First month had a chemical pg; second, not sure if I even ov-ed (apparently anovulatory cycles are quite common after a chemical), and this month I've just utterly confused myself!! [hconfused]

BustAMove · 15/10/2011 16:05

Hi festie, what's an anovulatory cycle? I had a chemical last month.

I also seem to have gone a bit mad. Have been having EWCM since sunday, seems to be no let up. Had bad pains on right hand side yesterday, do you think this was ov? How long would it be before you got implantation pain? and how do you know the difference? Also, my nipples are v v sensitive, but unsure if this is just due to ov, and I've not noticed that before. Does anyone else get that with ov?

Lots of questions, hope everything goes well with you all this weekend, plenty of SWI. To be honest that's me now, can't take anymore! If it hasn't worked this month that's me.

festiemum · 15/10/2011 18:20

Hi Busta - anovulatory - cycle where you don't ov. Happens to everyone occasionally I think, but read somewhere there are greater incidences of it after a chemical. I suppose the body's still clearing out and all that....

Implantation tends to be 7-10 days after ov. Don't tend to get ov pain, but know people say it's one sided. The pain I've had before during the 2 week wait (when I've been pg) have been more crampy like my uterus is stretching and all over rather than just one sided if that makes sense.

Hmm, don't know about sensitive nips and ov. Not one I've heard of before, but it's all connected to hormones I guess, so you never know! [hsmile]

festiemum · 15/10/2011 18:23

Having just googled it; it does appear that sore nipples can occur just before/during ov cos of a surge of oestrogen, so you could have just ov-ed if you couple that with the one sided pain you described...

BustAMove · 15/10/2011 18:48

Oh, fab, thanks for that. It's so reassuring posting on here. Must google sensitive nipples now!

Rusulka · 15/10/2011 19:38

Did anyone else see the article on miscarriages in the metro this week? Apparently 400 healthy pgs a year are misclassified as a miscarriage, and then gotten rid of. Docs are supposed to scan, and if it doesn't look good, wait 10 days and scan again. Apparently most of the time they don't bother with the 2nd one.
So if any of you find yourself in that position, GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! DEMAND THAT SECOND SCAN!!!!!

Rant over. Made me angry though, that they're so eager to just hoover out your downstairs without checking properly.

If WHEN I get pg I'm totally buggering off to a forest and not letting medical professionals anywhere near me...

Also, for anyone using the amzon cheapie ovulation tests, I have those, and while I do seem to be ovulating every month (temping too) my test line is never as strong as the control line. I've started testing today (CD8), and I have no line. From now until CD13, a faint line will appear, and continue being faint but visible until CD13, then be fairly strong (but still not strong as test line) for 2 days, then vanish altogether.

Anyone not temping yet, I highly recommend it. It's keeping me sane, plus I can match up ov sticks with temps, and I'll have something to take to doc if it takes too long to get there. Plus it's fun seeing the charts develop. Also, your elevated temps drop right before AF, so it's like an early warning system to avoid a disappointing BFN.

Wow, wrote an essay. Whoops!

Mama5isalive · 16/10/2011 00:05

hi all - big wave to the crew faithfully man-ing the plane!
While i have moved, working and sorting out loads! so have had no energy to do and SWoI, all any symptom spotting here just getting on, hope the stress of moving did'nt effect my eggs!
so it seems like for some of us our now flying into the 2ww!
Ohhhhhhh GTR - what the flippin heck is going on???? no AF and no Positive on the sticks! this is just nuts and must be really doing your head in!

OP posts:
BustAMove · 16/10/2011 09:24

Have never tried temping or ov sticks, but if it doesnt work this month I will be, it will give me some focus. Am symptom spotting, even though think I only ov yesterday! I think men haven't got a clue when it comes to the 2ww, it is the longest 2w ever. I'm away on holiday next week, so will catch up with you all when I get back, I hope to see some BFP??? and definately a symptom or 2. Good luck.

GTR2882 · 16/10/2011 09:36

I have heard rumour that sometimes no symptoms in the 2ww is a good thing!!! All my imaginary symptoms have completely disappeared so I am wondering whether I have not ov'd yet!?! [hconfused] can't really go off my temps as I have only been doing it right for the last 2 days but yesterday it was 36.28 and this morning it's 36.14 am now majorly concerned that I might be ov'ing really late (CD65 of a 57 day cycle aaaaarrrrrgh!!) might POAOS but they are about as helpful as DH peeing on them!! But fed up this cycle and would welcome the hag whore so I can get cracking next month!

Going to make mince pies today to keep my mind off it all [hgrin]

nearlymumofone · 16/10/2011 09:36

Morning all.

Deelite this is my second cycle of trying. I'm worrying already which is ridiculous as so early on in the process. But it's in my nature. Have bought CBFM to use next month as this month I'm sure I haven't even Ov'd and I'm cd17 of cycle which is generally 25-27. So not impressed.

GTR your willpower is great. wish I had an ounce of it. Maybe I'd not eat so much.

Busta enjoy your hols

Anyway. Being as I'm sure I haven't ov'd I went out last night for a gorgeous meal, wine, cocktails and then some more drinks, dancing and even got a few fags in there for good measure (I don't even really smoke).

I think we'll be getting a few BFPs next week. fx

nearlymumofone · 16/10/2011 09:38

Oh, and GTR I'm still on the white snot like Cm, not much at all which I've been on pretty much all month, cd17 today, what's with that??! I've even stopped hoking about up there as there's been no change!!

GTR2882 · 16/10/2011 10:49

Hmmmm nearly some women just don't produce much of the fertile stuff (i am one of those women and I poke more than 5 times a day to see if there is any change) i too currently have the white, clumpy CM but it is mixed with some clear/opaque type stuff as well!! It could be possible that you are going to ov late - if AF does show as normal though, this is not a real AF bleed but a breakthrough bleed, meaning that yes you did not ov (it can happen every now and again, frustrating though when TTC, so don't worry!!). However, have you been charting CP?? As i said, it is common for some women to not produce the good stuff, but your CP will accurately tell you when you are fertile as it should me SHOW (soft, high, open and wet). I also find temping useful (when i actually use the thermometer correctly Blush) as this can tell you when ov has occurred with a temp drop and subsequent temp rise!!

Can any ladies out there who do get the fertile CM describe to me what it looks like? I don;t want to be missing it because I am not too sure what it looks like (as never had it before!)

Am abandoning making mince pies - no butter, no eggs no car and no motivation to walk the 10 steps to the shop next door and get some!!
