GTR sorry I got a bit over excited early on reading your post, you are definately right to wait (there is no way on earth I'd be able to hold out, but I know it's the right thing to do). I understand you are a bit of CM guru (from reading earlier posts), I'm day 13 of a 25-27 (ish, has been known to be longer) cycle and I'm on the creamy white, snot consistency (but not much of it, only to be found after a proper hoke about) phase. Is it likely my LP is short? I'm worried I'm not oving or my LP is too short. (I worry. A lot. Often with no reason).

I am actually ttc#2, but with ds1, I had a lot of problems prior to conceiving; including a haemmoraging cyst which bleed for 6 weeks leading up to the month I got pg, I'd given up on ttc at this stage and so didn't make note of the day of my cycle, and when I dtd (although i know I only did it twice in the month I got pg..... oh the irony of it, all the months i spend dtd every other day prior to that month!!), so I don't actually have a clue when I ov'd or how long my luteal phase is.

Am in work, so that is a distraction on its own - but the test in my bag is calling to me, although testing in the toilets in work is a little degrading, and i have nothing to P into (i left my P cup at home). And i can't really justify being in the toilet for 10 mins!!

Right let's see: creamy white snot like CM can be found after ov (i have some of that, in fact i had loads of it towards the end of last month!!). Creamy white CM does not necessarily mean a short LP. When did you ov? As long as you have an LP that is between 10 and 14 days then that is plenty long enough to sustain a pg!! And as you have already have a DC plus the fact that your LP remains static, I don't think you should worry about that.

I will try and do some quick calculations based on a 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 day LP (i may be some time)

GTR you are a star, what is your job? is it in CM??!

I haven't had any ewcm this month I'm sure. Have spent half the cycle with my fingers up there obsessively checking!! I have been using opks, but not at the right times and they are out of date (from last pregnancy, last pregnancy they didn't show I ov'd at all on the months leading up to getting pg .

Right, here goes, i will do a 27 day cycle first with LP length and potential ov day:

14 day LP = CD13 ov
13 day LP = CD14 ov
12 day LP = CD15 ov
11 day LP = CD16 ov
10 day LP = CD17 ov

And for a 25 day cycle:

14 day LP = CD11 ov
13 day LP = CD12 ov
12 day LP = CD13 ov
11 day LP = CD14 ov
10 day LP = CD15 ov

If you continue to get creamy cm up to these dates then it is most likely that you have already ov'd; if it starts turning watery then you are gearing up to ov!! :)

nearly i too have never really gotten a positive on them and i rarely get any fertile CM!!! i wish I was, at the doctors last night he asked me what i did and when I told him he was shocked, as he thought i was involved in something medical!! I am actually a building surveyor

I too spend the majority of my time with my fingers up my hoo ha!! In fact, talking of hoo ha's, mine is tingling but in a nice way! I feel really strange! My abdomen feels all tickly and weird

Hello could i please join you ladies bit late boarding the plane i know. Af due anytime have a 31/33 day cycle and on day 32 i know she will show up we have not been ttc this month. If i have worked things out right and conceived next month i think i would be in for a late july baby please correct me if i am wrong and on the wrong plane.

GTR - you have such amazing willpower not to test!! be strong - it will be worth the wait! I need to ask a TMI question and you are the guru! With regard to checking CM - how do you actually do it? Basically I just have a quick look on the paper after going to the loo (so TMI!! apologies) but wondering if I should be engaging in a bit more delving?!?

Day 3 of quarantine for DS - thankfully not too bad so far - still been able to get out for walks etc - just making sure we steer well clear of any other children. Not been too rainy here so thats helped and he has been gracing me with some long naps as well which helps to eat up a bit of the day! Doc reckoned 7-10 days though so still a long way to go!

Maisie I used to just check the toilet paper before i got a bit crazier wiser; if you check your CP, then the best thing to do is also check your CM at the same time. To check CP/CM, I normally sit on the toilet and after thoroughly cleansing my hands, insert my middle finger into my hoo ha and have a good old rummage around. For CM, once you find your cervix, i normally try and swipe my finger across and around and then withdraw and examine the contents - you usually get a lot more to look at as well my doing it this way!!

GTR Thanks for all your calculations! re CP... since we're discussing it... I can never find mine, it's like a long tunnel up there and I can't find the end?!!!! It's not that I have stubby fingers either, they are pretty long!!!!! It's kinda weird, ashamedly I've never really probed like this before (pathertic really that at nearly 35 I don't know my own body that well!!!), is a distant CP an issue? ALSO, How often to you check CM/CP, since I read one of your earlier posts (page 4 I think?!!!!) I seem to have a quick check a couple of times a day. That is silly right?!!

That is not silly at all! I check mine every time i go to the toilet!! It might not be that it's distant it might just be that it is high! Technically you should only really check once a day and at the same time every day, because it moves about a lot throughout a 24 hour period. CM though should be checked throughout the day because this can change quite quickly!

Agreed GTR - it's batter all day, cp once a day! That's what the bible says (Taking Charge of your Fertility - worth a read if you haven't!)

As for your high cervix nearly - as GTR says, it could be it's really high at the moment; I can't feel mine when it's in the high position. But have you tried checking it in a proper squatting position, rather than on the loo? That position will bring it lower. Just make sure you always use the same position whichever you choose!

Managed to get DH to agree to a final SWI tonight just in case I am oving much later than I thought I would be. Feeling much more positive! :)

Oh festie i do hope so!!! Can't believe i have been carrying a test around with me all day and i have not POAS!!!! Home now and just checked on my Monday test and it is now definitely an evap, thick and grey and all trace of pink gone, which makes me wonder was it always an evap!!! Do positives when they dry out lose the colour?? It has def made me think to test in the morning, just in case i was deluding myself!

Positives certainly lose some of their colour when they dry out. The colour becomes less vivid iyswim. So if it was a very faint positive, it would follow that the colour wouldn't show now. I don't know, I think I might be being a bit irresponsible geeing you up, but it does sound so promising!

I don't think I'll be the only one who'll be logging on in the morning with baited breath! :)

mid cycle here, getting nowhere with cheapy ov sticks or any other sort of ovulation prediction so cluelessly getting on with it as per usual and hoping for the best... will update either way in a few weeks :)
