Mummyin2012x · 12/10/2011 22:49

I'm th same puzzle tree.. CD14 and no smiley face on my ov sticks :-( worried I'm not going to ov so just SWI EOD!!!!! When r u due AF?

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 05:59

Morning ladies!!! The results are in:

Got up and POAS (well actually PITAP) place it flat and waited patiently for 3 mins.........timer barked to indicate time was up, had a little look and...............B......F.......N I'm afraid :(

AF still MIA will re-test next week as per docs orders!! Sorry ladies!!

festiemum · 13/10/2011 07:18

Oh, I'm sorry GTR - I was sure you were going to get a BFP.... :( No AF as yet though, so you're not out of the game yet!

My cycle's the same this month puzzle and mummy - CD 20, ewcm for ages but my temps are flatlining. Don't know what's going on!

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 07:29

festie if your temps are flatlining there could be something wrong with your thermometor or, dare i say, the way you are taking your temp!! Do you take it at the same time, do not move, drink, go to the loo etc? Temps should never stay the same for consecutive days, there should always be fluctuations. I would maybe get a new battery or possibly a new thermometor!

No AF so yes technically still in the game, but I have a horrible feeling that my body is still trying to regulate after coming off the pill!! I was on the POP and never had a bleed - i would never recommend that pill to anyone. What's more frustrating is the fact that you spend so many years of your life preventing pg and when you are finally settled and broody and ready, this happens!!! [hhmm]

Hope your cycle sorts itself out soon; are you still getting EWCM? [hsmile]

nearlymumofone · 13/10/2011 07:33

GTR sorry to hear that. Are you going to do another test today? Last time you tested was last night right? Your twinges and pinching sensations sound similar to what I had in early pregnancy with ds, though I really don't want to get your hopes up, I had similar feelings last month.... but nothing.

Despite promising myself that I wasn't going to use opks this time round (last time I didn't ever get a positive line, got stressed about it all, stopped using them and then got pregnant. However found some of the old ones and past couple of days have been using them. Last night and this morning there is a line (a faint one, not a strong as the control line) but a line nonetheless. They are only the cheapie Amazon ones. Does this mean I am about to Ov, or does it mean that I have? Or does it mean nothing at all? Any ideas? Haven't had a chance to check CM this am, but had a dream there was an abundance of egg white like CM (how sad am I? it's penetrated my dreams!!). I SWI yesterday (lunchtime- dp on shifts!!) and won't again till tmr (evening).

nearlymumofone · 13/10/2011 07:35

Sorry GTR just re-read previous posts and have seen that you poas this am. Reckon force yourself to wait till Saturday even.

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 07:43

nearly i don't have any more tests - have ordered some FRER but they won't be here until Monday, so will prob test Tuesday if the witch has not made an appearance!!

Regards OPKs, the line needs to be as dark, or darker, than the control line for it to be positive. In general there will always be two lines because we always produce LH, would the OPKs look for is the LH surge that takes place just before the egg is released. Like you, i pee on these with not much luck - but because of my long cycles i need to know roughly when ov will happen otherwise i would be shattered going with the EOD rule!!!

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 07:43

i meant to say *what the OPKs look for.....not would

nearlymumofone · 13/10/2011 08:09

what's the EOD rule?

Thanks for clearing that up for me, it was a while bak that I read up on them and I couldn't remember re the test line.

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 08:34

EOD = Every Other Day for SWI!! I would be good for nothing after 2 months of that [hgrin]

festiemum · 13/10/2011 08:40

EOD - every other day!

Thanks GTR - I was wondering if my thermometer was faulty. EWCM is definitely drying up now, and cervix still low and firm. I do take my temp pretty much the same time every morning, and the only moving I do is to reach for the thermometer! It's a new one, but it was a cheapy babymad one. Don't know how reliable those are!

I have had an abundance of ewcm this month though. I normally get 2 days and then it completely dries up after ov. This month I'm onto day 6! It's like my body is gearing up to ov but something is stopping it!

You're going to have to keep yourself busy now till Tuesday, aren't you?! There's nothing worse than not knowing what's going on. I hope your body gives you some definitive answers soon! Thanks

nearlymumofone · 13/10/2011 09:06

festie EWCM sounds good. What cd are you?

Keeping fx for everyone, would be great to see some BFPs rolling in.

p.s am sick of EOD and SWI, so is dh! i wanna get pg for a break from it!! Grin

festiemum · 13/10/2011 09:16

CD 20 nearly. I usually ov fairly late; my cycle is 30 ish days and luteal phase 12 days, so CD17/18 is normal for me...

Does anyone know if dieting interferes with ov? I'm losing weight at the moment, but I'm wondering if I should eat a bit more...

oggy24 · 13/10/2011 09:32

Festie I was about to ask a very similar question!

I am dieting (am majorly overweight!) and have lost 10lb in the last 3 weeks. I am certainly not starving myself, just cutting right back. I see it as I am eating a hell of a lot healthier now than all of the crap I was throwing in my face before!

I bought myself a CBFM as I only have a 23 day cycle and wondered when I might be ov. However, I have gotten to CD14 and still nothing :( I am now starting to worry that I have a stupidly short LP or am just not ov. Obviously I'll give the CBFM a few months to settle in and see if it learns my cycles a bit better.

As a lot of people on here, I really didn't want to be obsessing over this TTC lark. However, DH works away a lot or works long hours when he is at home and so is always tired. There is no chance at all to go for SWI EOD so I would like to be able to time my few chances well!

GTR hang on in there. Something is certainly happening. I was on Cerazette POP and didn't bleed for the year I was on it. I hated it so had it changed. The nurse looked at me like some kind of freak when I said I enjoyed a visit from AF each month.... oh how times have changed! Fx for you.

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 09:34

I think any weight loss/gain can have an affect on our reproductive system, especially if it's quite dramatic; but if you are following a healthy diet etc then it should be ok as long as you are not underweight.

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 09:36

oggy i too was on Cerazette.......for 4 years!!! Wish i had never bothered now!! [hsad]

oggy24 · 13/10/2011 09:45

update

Earlier I just POAOS and left it to post on here. Just been to turn the CBFM on and I have a high reading! Hurrah! Still, even if I ov'd tomorrow it only leaves me with an 8 day LP :( It is going to be frustrating if I don't get a sticky bean over the next few months knowing what my problem is and not being able to visit the GP until the 1 year rule.

The joys of TTC. Anyway, DH is home right now so I have things to be gettign on with! ;)

festiemum · 13/10/2011 09:46

Blimey, definitely not underweight! [hgrin] [hgrin] [hgrin]

I also know that I snore and sleep with my mouth open, and think that can interfere with temps. Who knows? I thought more information would make this easier, but it's even more confusing!!! [hconfused]

It's a bummer - we spend our younger years arsing about with our cycles trying to avoid pg and then when we want to get pg they don't play ball.

cherrypiew3 · 13/10/2011 09:52

Morning Ladies

GTR sorry you did not get your BFP this morning but hang on in there its not over till you know who shows up.

OGGY my dh works nights so the SWI EOD is never going to happen for us so just going to take it has it happens for now any way.

Well still waiting for AF to show up wish she would hurry up so we can get on with it.

festiemum · 13/10/2011 10:07

Happy SWI oggy! Remember that you could slightly exaggerate how long you've been ttc if you decide you need to see the doc (ahem!)

Shift work must make it all more difficult cherry - in some ways the population boom surprises me - it all seems so tenuous!

GTR2882 · 13/10/2011 10:07

festie have you thought about maybe taking temps in your hoo ha - apparently it's more accurate, especially if you know that you snore/sleep with your mouth open!!

oggy is your LP normally only 8 days?? Remember it can't change, so if you ov late, then you can expect AF late, but your LP is fixed [hsmile]

louloubellamozzarella · 13/10/2011 10:27

[hhmm] [hangry] [hsad] at GTR's naughty hormones.

Just testing out the new halloween smileys there

GTR sorry about the BFP - grr! Hope you feel ok - hang on in there, can't be long now till you know what's going on.

Can I joing the Cerazette hate club too please? It took away my libido and my energy, the bastard! Also still thinking my periods are not back to normal - let alone the rest of my cycle. At least we're all off it now though, eh? I really don't think I'll ever be going back on the pill after all the different side effects I've experienced.

festie I think changing your diet/losing weight can affect your cycles. Not sure how so don't take this verbatim! I know when you lost a lot of weight your body goes into shock mode and basically halts your cycle so that no valuable energy is wasted on the menstrual cycle. However, I've also heard that for some overweight women, losing weight kickstarts their cycles as it changes hormone levels. Might be worth reading into? Hope you get your ov soon!

nearly, as GR said re ov sticks, you should only pay attention if the line is very nearly as dark or as dark/darker then the control line. It might be worth keeping hold of your tests so that you can compare them? I haven't been organised enough to do this yet but will do next month I think if AF arrives soon as expected.

oggy24 · 13/10/2011 10:33

GTR - true! I hadn't thought of this. I have previously just been bonking away unaware of the technicalities. I am really hoping I have just ov'd late otherwise I'm in trouble. I guess a few properly observed cycles will help me establish my LP.

I have been checking my CM but haven't gone up down the route of checking CP yet. That'll be the next step in the glamourous world of TTC! [hgrin]

oggy24 · 13/10/2011 10:35

loulou, Cerazette is a bastard indeed! I had the issue with libido too but was told by my nurse it would have sod all to do with it. Hmph. There is a lot to be said for us women knowing our own bodies. It pisses me off when we don't get listened too!
