New thread ladies, pull up a pew.

Glad you are going to the EPU Farfalla

I don't think my heath insurance covers it either. Craziness isn't it!

GenericDietCola · 19/09/2011 13:40

Thinking of you Musical and Farfalla. I think EPU is the best course of action Farfalla - take care.

PopcornMouse · 19/09/2011 14:03

I know I'm probably being super dim baby brain, clearly but what does EPU stand for?

musicalmrs · 19/09/2011 14:04

Early Pregnancy Unit. Some are fantatsic, some are useless (I phoned mine after my first bits of bleeding, and they were useless - wouldn't give me a scan, but the gynae this weekend told me they should have!).

farfallarocks · 19/09/2011 14:06

music that is terrible!

I think mine is alright, they were good the last time I went.

Strikes me that treatment of miscarriage and things is just sooo varied across the country. Can't believe the shoddy treatment some of us get.

maybebabyR · 19/09/2011 14:09

It's so true Musical and Farfalla mine was terrible (mixed my notes up, thought my MC was the result of an abortion).

Though I am grateful that they are there, as they can provide such reassurance in the early days. Let us know how you get on Farfalla

musicalmrs · 19/09/2011 14:09

It's ridiculous, isn't it. The two times I've been to A&E recently (on recommendation from my GP surgery, might I add) I've had to wait 2.5 and 3.5 hours respectively - with only bloods and urine done.

Having said that, once I requested what I wanted on Saturday (a scan, as i knew I was within my rights to ask for one thanks to the lovely no brooking ladies - and my hCG results!), things happened faster, and the gynae was the most wonderful lady ever - very helpful, realistic but yet positive, and sympathised that the EPU/A&E people shouldn't have treated me like that.

Wonder if we should campaign for proper support for ladies who are MC-ing, or just generally in distress and need more support...

duke748 · 19/09/2011 14:16

Fingers crossed for everyone having a tough time. Am busy brooking on your behalf.

PopcornMouse · 19/09/2011 14:24

Omg maybe that sounds horrendous!

It sounds like an ideal place to try far, if yours is a good one

GenericDietCola · 19/09/2011 15:13

Musical how many weeks are you now? Hope scan goes well tomorrow.

I totally agree re the standard of care given across the country - it definitely varies. Unfortunately, the more experience you have of mcs etc, the wiser you become and you know how to get the treatment you want.

I'm going to bake some nice things to cheer us all up - any requests? Chocolate brownies OK for starters?

Generic - I'm not sure! I think I'm about 6w+5 (judging by AF); the gynae suggested my hCG levels looked like I was further along, so I could be nearer 8 weeks (judging by when I first thought I ov-ed). Or I could be completely utterly wrong. I have no idea; we might find out tomorrow, depending...

I'm quite happy to cheer, though I'm not so bothered about the minimum of discomfort thing! :P

It appears I feel completely rubbish today, unless I eat, and then I feel good for a while. If this bean sticks, I hope this isn't a trend that continues throughout, or I'll be the size of a bus by the end! On the plus side, having eaten all my healthy food, I can start on the biscuits soon.. :D

GenericDietCola · 19/09/2011 15:44

Oh Musical that's great so you'll see a little prawn complete with beating heart when you go tomorrow! I remember that from pregnancy with DD - eating is the only thing that makes you feel better! So you just have to keep eating...

GenericDietCola · 19/09/2011 15:45
Solars · 19/09/2011 15:54

Musical so sorry to hear about what you are going through and you're feeling so awful, fingers crossed all goes well at the scan tomorrow.

Farfalla hope you get seen to soon and get some answers that will reassure you, hope you can somehow stay positive through it all. I am no brooking for you both too!

Maybe lovely holiday thanks, would never had looked out for those M&M's had it not been for you and glad to still see you on the thread!

Dream hope the vomiting is fading and you can enjoy the pregnancy a little more.

maybebabyR · 19/09/2011 15:59

Glad you had a lovely time Solars and even more glad you discovered the joy of the peanut butter M&M Grin

Generic I am now regretting saying I am going to pull a sickie, as I now actually do feel terrible! Headache, nauseous and I feel like I have preiod pains Hmm

Good luck for tomorrow Musical I have every belief that all will be well with triangle

MeconiumHappens · 19/09/2011 16:05

I still think you are preggo farfalla and i wont hear anything to the contrary. It was diluted non morning wee wee, so there.
Stop drinking tonight, poas tomorrow, post excitement with 3 minutes of poas. You may be allowed to tell dh before us, if you can manage it within those 3 mins.
Not. Brooking. At. All.

GenericDietCola · 19/09/2011 16:11

Yeah - go meconium! That's the spirit.

Maybe I had period pains yesterday and I am still getting twinges. Maybe I too am laying an enormous egg (or another egg as I think I ov'd on Thursday). Perhaps the honey is turning me into a super-ovulater? You will just have to have a genuine sickie and look after yourself or better still get DH to look after you while he's off.

farfallarocks · 19/09/2011 16:14

Ah meconium you are so sweet, cramps intensified though so I feel the end is nigh! Wish it would just get on with it though as last time it was quite painful and sharp and I just want it over with!!

I have managed to get an appointment with Raj Raj next Thurs which I think is quite something. privately though. Hope to get the ball rolling and find out if there is somethine wrong or we have just been unlucky!

maybebabyR · 19/09/2011 16:16

This sounds promising Generic Egg-laying buddies.

Has anyone heard from Imps lately?

OP posts:
GenericDietCola · 19/09/2011 16:34

Oh Farfalla I hope you're wrong. Good going re the appointment - you are keeping up the brooking!

Yeah where are you Imps?

farfallarocks · 19/09/2011 17:01

Hopefully imps is too busy SWI to update the thread!!

Thanks generic, I definitely need to DO SOMETHING to try and take back control (moi, control freak, never)

music keeping all crossed for you

MeconiumHappens · 19/09/2011 17:57

Well, might as well have someone important confirm your pregnancy farf old chap.
So who is next to poas, pom poms at the ready!

Biscuitsandtea · 19/09/2011 18:10

Afternoon all,

Just nipping on to say that I'm thinking of you all, especially Farfalla - Hope the EPU can sort you out - like Musical I'm brooking no argument for you, but thinking of you lots too.

Musical hope your scan is ok tomorrow - again will be thinking of you overnight and tomorrow morning. At least it is early and I'm very glad your DH can come too.

Sorry this is so brief - I have visitors this week so will be mainly absent Sad but checking in when I can, even if I don't have time to post, I'll still try to keep up

Thinking of you all xx

CakePigeon · 19/09/2011 19:11

oh farfalla and musical I have everything crossed for you both. I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight while you wait for news tomorrow.

any news to brighten us up popcorn? I am 11dpo and feeling gloomy still, not sure why - I think next month will be my month! A july baby would be more fitting as litterally all of DH's family have July birthdays, it is crazy.
