Mumswish is it possible you could be pg as of last month? when you had AF last month was it a proper period? I ask only because when I was PG with DS I thought I had had a period but only bled for a day, but just put it down to eratic cycle. It wasn't till two weeks later when I fainted at work, and when i rang the doctors to get results of blood test they had done on apparent first day of AF that they said hormones were consistent with womeone on the pill which I certainly wasn't so got a test on the off chance (didn't think for one minute it'd be positive as had been trying for a year) but test was positive and what I'd thought was AF actually wasn't. Might be worth testing?

mumswish · 17/01/2006 13:08

I'm back. How are you all?

mumswish · 17/01/2006 13:27

I dont think I'm pg. But I might have messed my body up abit because (after checking with docs) I took 2 pack of pills back to back, so didnt bleed because of xmas, new year. So very very doubtful. But it means I didnt bleed last month because I carried on taking the pill. Month before that was MC so very unlikely.

It could just be my body not fixed properly.

wannaBe1974 · 17/01/2006 15:38

Well feels as if AF might be making an appearance after all, not totally sure yet but that's how it feels, having said that i was sure that AF was going to turn up on Friday and it didn't so .. only time will tell.

Just a bit fed up today, not really sure if I can keep trying - know that 8 months isn't that long in the grans scheme of things, know that I should be grateful that I at least have one child when many couples try for years and year and have no success at all, and I guess that if I give up trying then that's what I need to hold on to - I do have a child at least.

I just don't know what we can do any more though - we've been doing everything right, and as it's not happening, I'm not really sure I can go on hoping every month and knowing in my heart of hearts that I'm not going to get pregnant again.

sorry for the long winge

Hayls · 17/01/2006 15:39

Hi all. Mumswish, I haven't a clue what is going on with you, sorry. Could be extra hormones rushing around because you took two packs close together? My GP old me to do that indefinitely when I suffered from endo but I couldn't as after a couple of packs I got a huge build up of hormones and PMT and HAD to break!Or maybe you are pg?

I had a sudden flash of sanity this mornign and remembered that you should take folice acid when ttc so dashed to the shop and bought some. I didn't find out I was pg with dd until 7 weeks so didn't start until then but it can't do any harm to be organised!

Hope everybody is OK.

How often do you relly need to bd then? I still haven't a clue about my cycle- day 8 atm and I will be away from dh from day 13 to 20 so I think this month is unlikely... However, my cycle is very erratic, which is why I bought ovulation sticks but I haven't a clue what to do with them lol.

mumswish · 17/01/2006 15:42

Is there any reason why you shouldnt be able to get pg wannabe?

Maybe you should try getting drunk one night? Work well for teenage girls. lol

On a more serious note. If you feel you cant keep trying then dont but at the same time, i really feel that youre right when you say 8 months isnt very long. I think you need to take your mind of it. Doesnt worrying stop pgs?

I dont know what else to say other than I hope AF stays away for you.

Hayls · 17/01/2006 15:42

Hiya Wannabe1974. Soryy, I don't know what to say other than it will happen when it's meant to- no idea when that will be unfortunately. As you say, you have one child already and know you CAN do it.

Hope you're ok. Definitely worth testing again in a couple of days though IMO.

mumswish · 17/01/2006 15:44

Hayls they reckon that you need to bd every other day if you can to keep a fresh lot in there. However, I fell pg after bding only once that month, whilst on the pill so it varies I think.

Good luck with controlling your cycles. As for the ovulation sticks I think your meant to p on them in the morning and it tells you whether your ovulating. Some have smiley faces when you do.

wannaBe1974 · 17/01/2006 15:49

Yeh I read somewhere as well that you should BD every other day to "maximize" the possibilities. I also read that you shouldn't get up until at least 30 minutes after, although after 30 minutes you can get up as any swimmers that are in there will be on their way by then.

Lol at smily faces on ovulation sticks.

pussycatmomma · 17/01/2006 15:51

hellooooooooo!
hi all, having lovely chats without me i see, whilst ive been busy at work!

had a busy day , work still not sorted itself out yet, not reaaly sure whether im coming or going iyswim.
When are we starting our Feb thread? We all need to move over together so to speak so nobody is left out. mind you thinking about it, we are still waiting for northener arent we, so maybe we should wait right till end of jan?
Northy i am convinced you will get a bfp just dont test too early.
Just to update, then im sorry i wont go on about her anymore, my sis is fine and recuperating, cant stop thinking about her, she so wants this...
maybe we will end up pg together? i can hope anyway. Day 9 for me, bd so far on 5,6 and 8. dh says he feels like a sperm production machine

pussycatmomma · 17/01/2006 15:55

mumswish and hayles and wannabe, all good stuff, nice to see you chatting, sorry im not so good at keeping up.
anyone whos due af i really hope she does not arrive!!
bd every day or every other day, from day 7 or 8 onwards depending on your cycle.
yes lie flat for 20 mins or so, if you put a pillow under your bum , it supposedly helps (something to do with the angle of your cervix helping swimmers)
xxx

northerner · 17/01/2006 15:56

PCM it will be lovely if you and your sis get pregnant together. My SIL had her dd at the same time I had ds. It is nice.

Feeling not right today, bit light headed and I have a cold.

mumswish · 17/01/2006 15:57

there's also a thought that you should do handstands after or put a pillow underneath your bum after. lol

somethings they come up with are silly.

pussycatmomma · 17/01/2006 15:58

aahh northener sorry to hear you feeling a bit poorly....are you at home or at work? if at home id advise an hour with the "poorly blanket" on the settee

northerner · 17/01/2006 15:58

Meant to say don't move to another thread just yet! Wait for my AF day, then it's off to teh Feb thread.

mumswish · 17/01/2006 15:59

PCM - I hope everything goes good for your sis. Dont worry about going on about her its nice to hear how people are getting on whilst going through things. I hope all goes well and you can let us know how she handles pregnancy.

pussycatmomma · 17/01/2006 16:00

is your af day 24th?
just to make sure i think we should wait till 31st and have a lovely spangly new thread for feb.
btw, i do the pillow under the bum thing after bd, not silly like a headstand, i think there is some logic!

northerner · 17/01/2006 16:00

Sadly I'm at work. Though poorly blanket sounds like heaven. My brain is not functioning properly today and I'm booking 180 flights for GP's so it needs to! Am here till 6pm. Then have to visit MIL in hospital.

pussycatmomma · 17/01/2006 16:02

ahh northy, maybe not best idea to visit elderly relative in hosp if you have a cold?? id go home and sent my apologies and go when you are feeling better yourself.

pussycatmomma · 17/01/2006 16:03

oops i mean send not sent

mumswish · 17/01/2006 16:04

I wouldnt go either Northern, might make her worse.

wannaBe1974 · 17/01/2006 16:04

aw no it's good to hear about people going through treatments and getting to the end stage just waiting to heare how things end up. I always tend to watch those test tube baby programmes on discovery health and am always so happy for the couple when things work out.

PCM what do you do for a living? sounds pretty busy there.

Coathanger · 17/01/2006 16:07

Hi everyone. I hope you don't mind me joining you. I have been lurking for a while but didn't want to post incase of jinxing myself. But I have now plucked up the courage. I am really hoping for a BFP this month and as AF was due yesterday and I had some spotting around time of implantation, I am hopeful.

Nice to see you on this thread, Mumswish. Just one query, didn't you MC in December, about the 15th? Could be my hormones messing with my head but it just struck a chord. So you could still be PG as you only had about 2 days of bleeding after MC IIRC, or it could be the 6 weeks of pills that have messed with your cycle. Hope you get an answer soon.

Wishing you all that very special test result soon too!!!

wannaBe1974 · 17/01/2006 16:11

Hi coathanger. How long have you been TTC? do you have any other children already?

pussycatmomma · 17/01/2006 16:15

hi coathanger (strange name!)fancy you lurking! i never think of that you know, just feel like i am having private chats with my thread-friends, it doesnt occur to me that folks might just be "lurking" as you put it!
a lovely warm welcome to you anyway, and GOOD LUCK!!!!!! I hope you get the result you want.
How long hve you been trying?
just to recap, im 30, dh 34, this will be our first bambino if we get lucky
whats your situ?
wannabe - work hectic, ive only just gone back after having about 7 weeks off. long and complicated....
