hi all, cori not sure if you still in? hi to disslocated , northerner, appyday, hellomamma, and everyone else! (sorryifimissedanyone!)
i think i am starting to imagine symptoms when they really are af due. (but not till 12th....)
trace,i cant find that thread, can you do a link for me at all, or can anyone else? i seem to have trouble looking at archived threads, maybe i doing something wrong. Also just reading recent posts, i did not realise that depressionn could affect your fertility? if i am reading right... if so this worries me completly, i have suffered from mental health problems including depression since i was about 15 on and off can anyone enlighten me?

Coriander73 · 06/01/2006 15:43

Hey pussycat...am here. Not really sure what the best advice is although I have seen there's a thread on MN covering depression etc. Perhaps it would be better to discuss this with your doctor or why don't you try a homeopath to try a more holistic approach? But don't start worrying about that aswell...just relax poppet. Easier said than done but don't overflow your head with too much this month.

Of course you can't stop thinking about possible symptoms!!!...it's only natural...until your af comes (which we pray it doesn't!) let's stay positive!!!!!!

On & up darlin'

pussycatmomma · 06/01/2006 15:46

hi cori do you still look like a cheshire cat this today? thanks for your advice, im just gonna try and keep busy doing something else to try and take my mind off it all....hard to do though! i will try and find distractions this weekend...

pussycatmomma · 06/01/2006 15:47

ooops today dont know where "this today" came from

appyday · 06/01/2006 15:47

Hi pussycatmomma, just had a look on iVillage, and fertility is affected, but if the depression is being controlled and your cycle is pretty regular it appears you are in with as much chance as anyone. Which is probably why my Doc said to go for it now!

pussycatmomma · 06/01/2006 16:01

thats great to hear appyday, thankyou , im getting myself worried before i know all the facts! hmmmmm, maybe i am just taking in too much info! my depression is controlled to a point, in the fact that i have lots of support and regular medication. I have just had a really bad spell though, but my cycle was not affected eg i was still regularly coming on, no different etc. I am a healthy weight and dont smoke. I eat plenty of veggies / vitamins and take folic acid. Hope my chances are as good as any?

Coriander73 · 06/01/2006 16:09

Of course your chances are as good!! Stop worrying...your doing all the right things & as long as you & DH are still having lots of bding at the right times....it will happen...hopefully it already has but if not it will...so POSITIVE!!

Please don't think "oh it's alright for you because you've got your bfp" as I totally understand what you are going through...I was only there 4 days ago myself! That goes for all of you as I want you all to join me ASAP.. Sending more baby vibes to all....

Just done a pg test (couldn't resist!) - and it's neg (for now!). Will keep you informed - fingers crossed!

hellomama · 06/01/2006 22:10

My period is due around the 17th January so a while to go yet for me! The issue about low mood / stress / anxiety and cycle disruption is because the same part of your brain which controls our emotions, also controls the menstrual cycle. Thats why lots of 15-16 year old come in for pregnancy tests around the time of their exams, worrying they are pregnant because their periods are late. And when you are worried about your period being late (when you're not planning a pregnancy!), it tends to delay it further, until you calm down a bit. Generally, if you have well controlled depression, it shouldn't really affect things too much, it tends to be more sudden, acute changes in mood, stressful events, etc, that disrupt the cycle. HTH!
