hello! can I join too?? Not sure if we are calling it 'TTC' at the moment, but we are throwing caution to the wind at every opportunity and I will be disappointed if AF arrives this month... we already have DS who is nearly 18 months. DH and I are both 26.

We are kind of at a crossroads with our lives and although we both have good jobs, we live far away from family. I think the general plan is that we're going to move back home, and being pg will be a good excuse to quit, with a bit of maternity leave sandwiched inbetween! DH however would prefer us to get jobs, etc sorted first and then baby later. But recently I have left the responsibility of contraception up to him (he knows how I feel) and so far he hasn't been bothered either! We'll wait and see what happens... This is month one for us.

I am a FP & sexual health nurse, with a strong interest in fertility awareness and contraception, so any questions, please let me know!

Good luck to us all!!!!!

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 20:16

AF due 5th Jan! You'll all be the first to know...either way! Lush bath bombs...lush simply lush! Failing that, how about oysters?!!! Needs must and all..

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 20:20

Welcome hellomama..!

I've been thinking that life is too short...that there's never a perfect situation...that we'll never have enough money, that the cost of living will only ever go up but hey..isn't it worth it? YES, YES, YES, YES!!!

hellomama · 30/12/2005 20:23

Completely agree Coriander73 ! Thats why I'm just going with the flow, and if its meant to be, its meant to be! Trying to be philisophical about it. I think DH has the same idea which is why he is being pretty relaxed about it all too... pretty scary thought having 2 running around though - but I guess it will happen at some point, so why not now!

northerner · 30/12/2005 20:23

Hi guys, I'm over my dissapointment of AF arriving and am looking forward to trying this month.

BTW what does bding or bd mean?

New to this!

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 20:31

I've only just learnt this...BD -babydancing...i.e sex!!!!!

northerner · 30/12/2005 20:33

Oh I see!
Only just learnt AF last week

Getting the hang of this now.

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 20:35

Northerner...chin up...I know how you feel as went through the same last month....was 100% convinced I was & yet...all in my mind as af duely arrived.

This month we've tried extra hard...every other day since af finished...so day 7 through to say 18...covering (we hope) days 12,14,16 & 18 (have 28 day cycle)....I'll keep you posted....what do you think hellomama?!

Coriander73 · 30/12/2005 20:36

Me too...I only learnt AF a couple of weeks ago...just couldn't the hang of it...also the acronym list they give you doesn't actually have most of the words that are mostly used on this thread!!!

appyday · 30/12/2005 20:41

Hi trace2, how come I only feel old when I'm talking fertility?

peachygirl · 30/12/2005 21:32

Hi again
Welcome everyone new.
Home mama I go to my local Natural Family Planning nurse and have been trying to pass on what I have learnt there here. You can help me nag everyone about monitoring cervical mucus (LOL) every time someone asks advice about times of ovulation I bring it up!
Seriously it will be great to have your wisdom. I think you might be better off getting pregnant then moving after mat leave ? you will get a better maternity leave/pay deal where you are and would have to work several months in a new job to be eligible for anything. This is something I have considered although we are thinking about our first, sometimes it is better the devil you know too IYKWIM (that?s definitely in the acronym list!)
Sorry about AF Northerner
Coriander looks like our AFs are due around the same time Fingers crossed for you.

Coriander73 · 31/12/2005 10:31

Fingers crossed peachygirl.....

Happy New Year to you all...hope we all get something to cheer about in 2006!

MrsBilly · 31/12/2005 19:55

Hi everyone, just joining this thread after leaving a message elsewhere on a not so happy note. We've just had a missed miscarriage but are feeling very positive for trying again in New Year. My sister always told me not to think about getting pregnant - easier said than done!! and she is pregnant with second but we're trying to remember it's also about us being together and not losing sight of enjoying each other's company. so to speak. Good luck to everyone and a Happy New Year.

peachygirl · 31/12/2005 20:00

Hi Mrs Billy
sorry to hear your news. You are most welcome on this thread I hope it is lucky for you

trace2 · 31/12/2005 21:35

compo hope it is implantaion bleed

Coriander73,its a good sign

peachygirl i'll have a drink with you

MrsBilly, sorry about your loss, and welcome, this is a lucky thread

by the way whos first to test Coriander73 or peachygirl or is there anyone sooner?/

peachygirl · 31/12/2005 22:12

I probably won't test unless I'm late, sorry to disappoint everyone, we only did 'it' once and that was on the 3rd day of my ovulation. With all the stress recently, I don't think I've been lucky this time (Still as Coriander says it only takes the once). I often get a bit PMT ish and am starting to feel that way although could be MIL's extended visit! However AF will coincide with returning to work, humph!
I went to see Patrick Stewart do a one man show of ?A Christmas Carol? this afternoon. It was Fantastic!
Coriander, since I had the implant out my boobs get really sore especially in the mornings lying on my side in bed, often around ovulation and before AF. My work colleague (who is on a big TTC mission and has bigger boobs than me) has been taking star flower oil as you can take it all the way through your cycle whereas oil of evening primrose ( which I?ve been taking for CM) you should stop just before ovulation.
Welcome back Compo (sorry I didn?t say it before)

trace2 · 31/12/2005 22:17

peachygirl just wait and see yes it only takes one go, but i dont feel pg so will have to keep trying

Coriander73 · 01/01/2006 08:07

Hey ho....I'll admit that we were in bed at 10pm last night..(& not for any bding!!) !! I couldn't keep my eyes open as dd had been up the previous night for 4 hours with her teeth so knew it would be a tough call whether we'd make it! Then woke up at midnight anyhow due to the fireworks going off around us & the phone constantly ringing....!! Used to really enjoy New Year but the last three have, for three different reasons, been a wash out....oh well.

I keep telling myself that I'm not pg....boobs still sore but they were last month & we know what happened. Part of me wants to do an early test....but I think it'll be better to wait....what a rollarcoaster!!!

Welcome MrsBilly..chin up

Hope your right Trace....fingers crossed Peachygirl.....

Hope you all have a good day....just me & dd at home today...dh is working...& I need to buy a vileida mop head so I can wash the kitchen floor....how sad...!!!!!
