So here is our new home, hope you all like it!

OP posts:
BartletForAmerica · 13/09/2011 08:12

In my state of unbelief, I have done another pregnancy test (BFP Grin) and then an ovulation test, which confirms that my LH levels are high, consistent with a BFP.

jen, that really sounds encouraging. Do let us know what tomorrow brings.

After my husband and I chatted about it this morning, the next thing I said was, "I need to tell Mumsnet." But, must stop neglecting DS now! Be back later, my lovely pregnant friends.

Imps7 · 13/09/2011 08:15

Aaarrrgg arrrrrg TWO BFPS?????????!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Bartlet and Jen!!! Double glasses of champagne all round!! Except for you two of course - Shloer for you!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This thread continues its magic!!

Biscuitsandtea · 13/09/2011 08:17

Well this all sounds very impressive ladies! Bartlet - a week deserved BFP after you shingles shagathon! Jen sounds v v promising indeed. A line is a line! Look forward to more confirmations soon! Grin

scarletfingernail · 13/09/2011 08:32

Wow how exciting to wake up to 2 BFPs.

Massive congratulations to you both Bartlett and jen

jen I had a BFP like that for a good few days before they started getting stronger. If you can see it, it is definitely there!

farfallarocks · 13/09/2011 08:59

Oh wow 2 bfps, congrats jen and bartlett

You are really testing my resolve now!!!!

I have given DH the first responses and told him under NO Circumstances is he to give them to me before Friday

Sn0wGoose · 13/09/2011 09:44

Omg, I go away for 12 hours and come back to not one, but two BFPS!! Congratulations both!!!!

Bartlet if anyone deserved a BFP this month, it's you, for shingle-related valour :o

Avocados are particularly high in folic acid aren't they? If you're craving them, it might be worth indulging in one and making sure you remember your tablets :)

Biscuits and Scream that sounds excellent - even if it does just look like a flickery prawn ;)

Only 5DPO but practically killing myself with hope/anticipation/dread/anxiety. I'm on my 6th cycle ttc too, and literally everyone I know is either a fully paid up member of the "wasn't even trying" brigade or fell first time. So while I know 6 months is not even particularly long, it's still a bit crap :b
This month I've charted, temped, poaOPKs, SWI with military precision... also stopped drinking caffeine and alcohol, and just joined weight watchers.............

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 13/09/2011 09:47

Wow! Congratulations Jen and Bartlet! really good work!! I wasn't expecting the synchronised BFPs to start rolling in until Thurs, but clearly you ladies are kicking off an exciting week! Farfalla and team Thursday are next! Congrats again!!!

Can I also second what others have said:

Jen if you test early all cheapy lines are super faint, mine was like that for days. A line is def a line!

Bartlet I honestly think yours is the most well-deserved BFP we've ever had! Your shingles-shagathon will go down in rat smacked history!!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 13/09/2011 09:48

Stupid autocorrect! Clearly I meant "rat smacker history"!

ScrambledSmegs · 13/09/2011 10:10

TWO BFP'S?!!!!!! Wooooooo-hooooooo!!!!!

jen and Bartlett big congratulations! Your rats are well and truly smacked Grin.

Imps7 · 13/09/2011 10:26

Time for the Symptoms & Tips Briefing please (and no Bartlet, I will not accept "contracting shingles" as a tip!)

jaggythistle · 13/09/2011 10:37
BabySade · 13/09/2011 11:35

OMG!!!!!! Congratulations Musical, Jen & Bartlet. Fantastic rat smacking Grin

I'm still in Greece until next Monday, wifi is very unreliable & I keep losing the signal. I managed to read about the first BFP but couldn't reply. Today it will only let me read the most recent posts. Anyway hope I haven't missed anything.

The shagathon continues here so far 5 days out of 8, I'll be keeping at it for the next week & I'm even remembering my folic acid. I totally deserve my BFP now!!

Right will defo check in for positive pee stick Thursday

farfallarocks · 13/09/2011 11:39

baby I admire your committment checking in from holiday!

Loving the holiday shag fest. My grandma swears that the reason she got preggers with my mum was from swimming in the sea lots, apparently very good for making the vagina less acidic and helping the swimmers up there.

Right, come on gals, we want your top tips, the more absurd the better.

I can't stop prodding my boobs to see if they are sore which of course they are now, from all the prodding!

Feeling distinctly like AF is about to get going through, odd cramps, spots etc etc

Argh!!
Right, back to brooking and considering buying manuka honey from the health shop which costs a shocking £30 as there is a thread on here about how that worked

Imps7 · 13/09/2011 12:34

Grin at the sea being nature's own Preseed Farfalla! Bearing in mind Dream's tip, imagine what would happen if you went swimming without bikini bottoms on!

Hope you're having a lovely holiday Baby! Good work on the shagathon front!

Late - any movement on the OPKs?

BartletForAmerica · 13/09/2011 12:44

Well, I am a bit cautious about top tips until I know this one is sticking around, but these are the things we did differently this month.

Pre-Seed
OPKs to reassure me that I was ovulating despite BFing
Shingles/anti-virals/codeine (hmm, perhaps not recommended!)

I think that's about all really. I still can't believe it and won't believe it until (if I get there) the 12 week scan.

musicalmrs · 13/09/2011 13:01

Bartlet - I know the feeling about not believing it. I'm holding out for the 12 week scan too... although I keep getting little signs that something's going on.

Top tips... I did the daft legs-cycling-in-the-air thing after some of our SWI sessions. I would be ashamed to admit it, but it might have worked - so I don't care how stupid I looked (DH was always out of the room at the time!).

So does swimming in the sea with no bikini bottoms = instantaneous pregnancy? Why did nobody realise this before...? :o

Biscuitsandtea · 13/09/2011 13:14

Interesting Bartlet - another Preseed success story! We've had a few of those on here recently.

Bartlet and the preceding preseeders (boom boom Grin) - may I ask how long you had been trying for when you tried the Preseed? Purely for research purposes - I'm just curious!

Well done again everyone anyway Grin

thelittlefriend · 13/09/2011 13:22

Hurray! Congratulations to Bartlet & Jen x

GenericDietCola · 13/09/2011 13:33

Congratulations Bartlet and Jen! Keep the tips coming!

Not got time to catch up with everyone, but Farfalla I have bought some Manuka honey at lunch time - in fact to cover all bases it's one with cinnamon added to it. I was a cheapskate and went for a 6+ one for about 8 quid rather than the stronger version. To be honest I'm a bit confused about Manuka honey and what's in it, but if it works it will be well worth it!

All this is immaterial though as you are clearly preggo what with the sore boobs and all.

maybebabyR · 13/09/2011 14:00

2 BFPs!!!!! Amazing work girls.

Bartlet so pleased for you

Jen brook no argument, that line will get stronger Smile

So, this pre-seed malarky. Is it only useful if you don't ahem, have much of your own stuff to go around Blush ?

jenfraggle · 13/09/2011 14:09

Well I did another test just now and this one looked a bit stronger and was a line.

Biscuitsandtea · 13/09/2011 14:14

Yippee Jen - particularly impressive for not FMU GrinGrin

BartletForAmerica · 13/09/2011 14:18

Wonderful news, Jen! We are officially BFP buddies! Grin

Actually I did stick my legs in the air most times like musical and (TMI alert) we SWI in the missionary position most of the time.

Sn0wGoose · 13/09/2011 14:18

Generic it's just honey made from manuka flowers in NZ - I'd be surprised if it was any more helpful than regular honey?? But I'm not an expert.

This is all I could on tinterweb that differentiates manuka from other honeys:
"Most honeys contain very low levels of methylglyoxal (MGO) , but manuka honey contains very high levels." -- MGO is an antibacterial.

GenericDietCola · 13/09/2011 14:37

Doh so I could have just bought ordinary honey Sn0w?

I am considering pre-seed as well now. What does it actually do? Is it just a lubricant that isn't spermicidal? Or does it actually help the little beggars?

I am determined to get a BFP this cycle - if Bartlet can shag her way to success with shingles, there is no excuse for me!
