Now also, in honour of the Rugby World Cup, we can also take our pick of the strapping, fine-thighed walking sperm banks who will be on display in New Zealand soon. I vote myself to be the tournament's physio and also we can judiciously place a few eager volunteers into the Pit for Gloom purposes. They are so incredibly tough that they are not likely to go the way of Daniel, Cap'n Jack and Mitchell.

Roll up, roll up....baggsy the first go on Jonny Wilkinson.

Now I want a bag of wheat.

Good Mornking, laydees.

Question for all - have any of you ever been 'outed' on MN? I'm realising that I feel so comfortable within the circle o' BESH that I've been dishing out personal particulars that would make it fairly easy for those who know me to spot me. This is really the only fred I post on. And I really like having this non-RL support. AIBU to remove any incriminating (information revealing) posts???

eurochick · 01/11/2011 12:02

Laura I've had my identity guessed on another forum by someone I used to work with. I don't post anything on here that I wouldn't mind friends knowing (although it might be a bit odd if my work colleagues knew when I was ovulating and frantically boffing Mr euro).

I'm also about to start the 2ww I think. I tend to ovulate on either day 14 or 16, usually alternating. Last month was 14 so I would expect this one to be 16. I am on day 15 and my temp is still down so I think it will be tomorrow. My abdomen feels all bloaty and twingy so I am on course for imminent ovulation.

Mr euro gets his second SA results today. He works in an open plan office so has to book a conference room to make the call! Fingers crossed for his swimmers please BESH.

bugs it must be weird. How long were you trying for before it happened?

DROID is here and I'm not crying. Progress, n'est ce pas?

2 years of wedded bliss blondierouge, so it was cotton. I bought him a book which I wrapped in a teatowel (genius I thought).

AlpinePony · 01/11/2011 14:50

Laura I've spotted someone here, and I assume she's spotted me too, but if nobody mentions it - it hasn't happened right? ;)

euro my first besh baybee took 361 days at 35, second besh baybee took only 6 months at 37 and if I'm honest our timing was out for half of those cycles, so baybee my body knows what white goods are for now? I expect baybee number 3 to take about 20 mins. ;)

eurochick · 01/11/2011 16:15

Happy anniversary Boo.

Pony 361 days! So just within the 80% conceive within a year statistic then! That was close to the wire.

bugs something in the back of my mind was telling me we started around the same time but I wasn't sure if I was mixing you up with someone else. 10 months is not as long as some but it is a long time knicker checking. Am so pleased for you!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/11/2011 17:11

My sister is on here and we know each other's names. I figure if she really wants to see threads I'm on she'll brave herself for gory.details (and vice versa). But I don't worry too much about bring outed. I figure I'll name change if I need to.

LauraPalmer · 01/11/2011 18:06

I probably sound really paranoid but I'm not interested in DP's exW (or other mutual friends) knowing such private info about me, ie. TTC ishoos. Just makes me feel too vulnerable! Blush

My DP knows I'm on here and he's grateful for the support it gives me. The whole TTC can be really difficult for the mens, too. And tbh the ESH have made me more sane.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/11/2011 19:39

You do seem perkier l
MSB knows I'm on here and likes that I have support but now after almost a year on here and 22 months ttc can impart wisdom to others. I am wisdomous Grin

LauraPalmer · 01/11/2011 19:47

Thank you Faithy - So perky that I just conned a National Rail worker to give me a free upgrade to peak travel! (Is that nasty Droid on the way out? I can pull out the Droid-B-Gone spray if necessary...)

How're you feeling Bugsy? How's BittyLugs?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/11/2011 19:58

Droid has been reduced to spotting..within 24 hours. Most peculiar....
Also had a classic moment today when I dropped my mooncup down the loo. SOOOO gross. Had no choice but to wash it very thoroughly then stick it back in. Now it's sterilising!
Awww BittyLugs! Love it!

Chocolate is a superfood if you ask me.

I see now she says potatoes are just as good as blueberries. pass me the chips please.

She is saying that the marketing of health food is bollocks scientifically and I hope she is proven right.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/11/2011 20:14

They are tres bonne if you don't drop them down the bog Saved me a fortune. It cost 17 quid but they reckon you don't need to replace it for 10 years. Way more cost effective than tampax. Also makes me feel like I'm helping the planet.
Re C4, I'm not watching - about to pop out - but a while back euro mentioned a healthy diet for pms. This month following my low carb, high protein, low sugar diet I have been much better. Much much better. Was a "bit grumpy" one night but nowhere near as unstable! Grin

KatAndKit · 01/11/2011 20:19

There has been a fair bit of research about a low GI diet helping with hormonal issues. I think PCOS has been linked to insulin resistance or something like that so I expect there is some decent science behind that.

CaveMum · 01/11/2011 20:52

Kat all the stuff I've read on PCOS has talked about the link to insulin resistance and my consultant told me that my GP has been notified that I'm at a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, etc. Y'know, the "fun" stuff! TBH I don't have classic PCOS symptoms, apart from the absent droid: I'm not overweight, not excessively hairy. I do have god awful skin but all the women on my mum's side have very oily skin.

Anyway, back to my point, low GI diets are good for insulin related issues so should help with PCOS.

On other matters, what are your opinions on smear tests whilst ttc? I've just had a letter through from my GP saying I'm due a smear (last one 2 years ago) but I'm aware they say to abstain for several days prior to the test. Should I book it and try to shoehorn it in before any possible ov or forego for the time being? I know how important the test is and I'm normally very good about keeping these things up to date, but I've reached the stage where I don't want anything to interfere with ttc.

KatAndKit · 01/11/2011 20:58

I've never heard of abstaining for a few days, I always thought it was common sense not to have sex the night before but any more than that is surely excessive.

I had mine as normal this year and I got my bfp that month in fact! perhaps it is a good luck thingy?! I think I had it about 3 days before ovulation. And I had sex the previous day but in the morning rather than the evening!
A smear test won't harm ttc even if you are already pregnant. In America they smear test pregnant women too.

LauraPalmer · 01/11/2011 21:04

I just got my letter too, Cavelina. I'm doing the 2wretchedweeks but if mean nasty unwanted Droid appears I'll book my appointment for immediately after.

Chocolate IS a superfood, Kitten. My theory is as long as its the really good dark kind then you can eat all you want. (Preferably with chilies, yum!)

Everyone keeps talking about how much they luff their mooncup. Do I need one of these to go with my bag of wheat?

LauraPalmer · 01/11/2011 21:07

x-post with Kitty - in America they do a Pap test every year, regardless of your state of diffeness, no mention of going sechsless for several days prior. and then the doctor sticks you with a large bill!
