Thanks guys! :) Scan is at 12 - I'll let you know how it goes.

izzy I'm not sure what headcount I'm hoping for either! :) It would be far safer if there were just one, but part of me would like twins again. I think if they could guarantee it would work out this time I'd like two, but if not then probably one.

LadyMaybe · 05/09/2011 11:40

Just quickly popping in to wish you luck Dachs

DiffedAgainDachs · 05/09/2011 13:16

One healthy heartbeat. One potential ectopic twin. Having scan from specialist on Thursday before I see my obstetrician. Am completely mentalling and madly worried.

tiggersreturn · 05/09/2011 13:27

Oh dachs I really hope the specialist sees something better

AandRMum · 05/09/2011 13:35

Yay for healthy heartbeat - massive fx for non eptopic - I can't believe you have wait until Thursday - any way to go private? Big hugs Dachs hopefully they are just being cautious. You never get to do things the easy way - do you hon.

digitalgirl · 05/09/2011 13:46

I've said on the other thread but will say again here: thinking of you dachs, hope Thursday comes around quickly and with good news.

DiffedAgainDachs · 05/09/2011 13:50

aandr Thursday is private! :) I was straight on the phone to my obstetrician before I left the scan room and he got straight on the phone to his specialist mate and that's the timescale they've decided on! The sonogrpaher today was fairly certain there was an ectopic as there is free fluid in the pelvis and a very swollen ovary. Not sure how I get through the two days until Thursday!

mousebacon · 05/09/2011 17:03

Oh god dachs it's never bloody simple is it? Have they advised you what will happen if it is ectopic?

Sending lots of love your way xx

OP posts:
MissTinaTeaspoon · 05/09/2011 18:01

Oh dachs...I'm sorry to hear that Sad. What happens if it is ectopic? Can the healthy baby be saved? I'm crossing everything for you for Thursday xxxxx

Waves to everyone, can't stay, ferry about to dock!

MissTinaTeaspoon · 05/09/2011 18:09

izzy what if we arranged something in Bristol? How close are you? And Edwards I seem to remember you live near Swansea too? Anyone else within reasonable distance to Bristol? Smile

Loup23 · 05/09/2011 18:11

Popping in as back from hold, need to read all posts this evening but wanted to send hugs to dachs great for one healthy heartbeat everything crossed other bean is ok, hoping next two days pass quickly and thurs brings good news

Waves to all others will catch up properly soon Grin

edwardcullensotherwoman · 05/09/2011 22:18

Oh sorry to hear that dachs ..thinking of you until Thursday, and fingers crossed for you. Try not to stress to much (easier said than done, I know) until then.

Tina your memory is brilliant, I must say! Are you near Swansea then? I've never been to a meet-up - almost went to one in Swansea, but DH was a bit iffy about it tbh, I was going to go anyway but chickened out last minute! Bristol may be a bit far for me though so I'll have to sit that one out - with DS in school now I won't make it there and back in enough time. (It's about 2.5-3 hours away from me).

MissTinaTeaspoon · 05/09/2011 22:25

Edward I'm not so much near Swansea as actually in Swansea, if you're 3 hours from Bristol you are presumably a bit further west? (pm me if you don't want to out yourself). I was thinking weekend, dd starts mornings at school next week so I don't have full days free either. I was just hoping to find somewhere central for a few of us that arent up north like everyone else seems to be Smile

MissTinaTeaspoon · 05/09/2011 22:26

Oh, I would also like to add that I'm not a crazy stalker, I only remembered because its do unusual to come across someone local to me on here! Wink

LadyMaybe · 06/09/2011 00:36

Oh Dachs I can't believe this. My head is full of questions so you must be spiralling right now, I guess nothing to be done until Thursday when you'll get a better look and hopefully a discussion of options. I sincerely hope that this turns out to be the last in what has been an enormously long list of potholes in your road to making your family. How is DH taking it? I hope you're able to lean on other for the next few days - do you have other family who can help you out? must be difficult concentrating on anything.

I think meet-ups are good - I've been to a few, my top tip is to take those 'Hello I'm....' stickers and write your MN + real names on them because it get's very confusing otherwise! Oh, and a print out of the MN logo or something discreetly attached to the table is useful otherwise you have women strolling nonchalantly passed trying to figure out if the first person to arrive is the one they're supposed to be joining Smile

DiffedAgainDachs · 06/09/2011 07:04

If there is a confirmed ectopic I'll need an op. There's only a 60% chance (according to Dr Google so not necessarily the most accurate stat) that healthy bean will survive if that happens. I'm hoping that includes ruptured ectopics and the stats for early diagnosed ectopics are better than that!

My GP is so worried about it she called me at home last night and asked me to go back in for a check up this morning.

So now I'm slightly freaking out!

I'll keep you all posted :)

MissTinaTeaspoon · 06/09/2011 09:55

dachs I wish I could do something to make it better for you to fix it...I'm thinking of you and hoping for you. As if you haven't been through enough. Don't believe that 60% though...haven't you got an amazing consultant who probably has a higher success rate? Step away from dr google, however hard that is xxx

In my news...plenty of ewcm here so dh had better watch out later for a mad hormonal me Wink !

DiffedAgainDachs · 06/09/2011 19:25

I had another scan today.

The person today doesn't think it's an ectopic. They think it's a burst cyst from the ovary, the shadows which were visible are the remnants of the follicles stimulated for the IVF and that the fluid which is visible in the pelvis isn't blood but perfectly normal. So all that stress for a day and a half was just a waste of energy!

Am now:
very wet as got soaked in the rain
feeling silly for all the stressing since yesterday.

Also, I feel like a complete idiot as I had to leave the house v quickly after I found out about the scan so that I could get there in time, and I was in the middle of preparing dinner and forgot to turn the gas hob off. It occurred to me after I got to the station that I may have left it on as I didn't remember turning it off, so I called the PIL as they have a spare key and asked them to check (they live about half an hour away) and it was on so I'm glad I asked! Dinner was, of course, completely burned by the time they got there!

MissTinaTeaspoon · 06/09/2011 19:31

Grin for dachs, both for a non ectopic and intact house Grin

MummyAbroad · 06/09/2011 19:37

phew phew phew Dach Dont feel silly for all the worrying, its always better to get yourself thoroughly checked out if something like that is suspected. So glad you have had good news though. xxx

mousebacon · 06/09/2011 19:56

Dachs that is just marvellous news! Did your gp get you today's scan?

So, in conclusion, you are pg, there is a heartbeat and you didn't burn the house down? Good day all round then!

OP posts:
Freezingmyarseoff · 06/09/2011 21:12

Dachs phew, phew phew. As Mouse says good day all round what with preventing a burnt down house as well.

Lady I'm very behind with news but I like your new name very much. Good news on the HCG concentrations. And I know what you mean about senso-nipples and the cold. I took DD swimming last week and was just paddling about in the toddler pool with her. Thank goodness for my new swimming cossie with padded boob protectors Blush

Mouse how is back to school? Good luck for tomorrow when the kids arrive. Is your boss being ok? Good news that your joint doctor is being so proactive. Do you mind me asking more about your joints? I"m just being nosey but only because I have joint problems too (I have RA). My rheumy is very proactive as well although.

Izzy how was your holiday? sorry I'm SO behind on news you probably said already Blush

Tina have fun this week Wink

Digital you have a scan this week right? when is it? I'll be thinking of you. And well done on the party. DD was 3 on Sunday and we did a little party but rather a big Peppa Pig cake which took both DH and I flipping hours to make in the end but it was pretty cool (even if I do say so myself). She loved it too!

Welcome to Louise sorry you're here. Also a very belated welcome to EdwardCullen, I'm sorry I don't think I said hello last time. I don't mean to be so rude.

YRMOTB how are you? And glad the meet-up went well. I would quite like to go to one, but it's taken me a while to pluck up the courage to even consider it until now.

AandR I'm pee'd off on your behalf for the crap comments at work. And sorry about the cock up with the referral too. It's all so frustrating.

Velvet how did the NCT classes go? Hope work is okay.

Waves to Loup, Tigger, MummyA and anyone else

TomboyWife · 06/09/2011 22:23

Dachs just checked the thread for the first time in a couple of days, and incredibly Shock at what you've been through! So so sorry about all the stress, but excellent news that the most recent doc thinks all is okay. And that you didn't burn your house down.

at everyone else. I'm so behind on everything! It doesn't help that I have what seems like a proper case of PMT. I'm due on round about now (actually I'm a couple of days late, but I don't feel pg at all), and nobody better say or do anything I don't like lest I get out the flame thrower.

Blackkat · 06/09/2011 22:26

Just stopping by to hope all going well for mouse at work and to check on news from digi? Do hope all ok. Dachs have posted on t'other thread, but still worth a Grin here too!!

to all

AandRMum · 06/09/2011 22:49

Phew phew phew - oh what an incredible relief - this one is definitely going to have a streak of the dramatic about them!! You have a heartbeat - ooooo Mini-Dachs you better behave yourself for the next 8 months and give your DM some space to breathe!! LOL at gas burner (well once it was turned off)
