Roll up, roll up...

This is the place to be if you are ttc post mc / pregnancy loss and need a little spot to call home.

battery I haven't got any scans booked yet. I'm going to arrange one for Monday 5th when I'll be 6+0 and then hope to see my doc on Wed 7th but I'm not going to call until Thursday, which is when I'm officially meant to be testing and I don't want to jinx it. The clinic will gibve me a scan at 7 weeks, so prob about Thu 15th as they start counting from four weeks before the day they tell you to test, rather than the right day (which is 2 weeks before egg collection).

I hope AF shows up soon, but at least they are taking you seriously so if it doesn't then you know you won't have to fight to go see them :)

ZamMummyInGabs · 22/08/2011 14:35

Great news on CB digi dachs
mouse can't offer anything re IC's but they look awfully similar to the ones you buy in pharmacies here, which even the pharmacists tell you sternly not to use until AF is actually late, never mind due. Not that that has ever stopped me, mind you Blush
No time for 8dpo mentalling for me, unfortunately, as DS1 spent the night throwing up/retching Sad and I duly dozed on the floor next to him. So no opportunity for temping & too sleep-deprived to symptom-spot. I did feel really nauseous last night and even heaved, but don't think that counts (well maybe a bit Wink)
Back to the nursing station Smile
xx

hi ladies.

battery still no AF? How many days of cramping have you had now? Sorry the hospital were dismissive, I am afraid that the vast majority of women with suspected AS do get fobbed off like that. Its a very common story on the yahoo AS group (which has 2000 members with AS) Have your temps dropped? Here is how my chart (June 27, 2010) looked when I had "periods" with AS, you can see the temps dropped right below coverline but there was no blood. If your temps haven't dropped, I'd say there is still a good chance these cramps are pre-period cramps.

If you want to push things forward you could ask to do the "progesterone challenge", where you take progesterone for 10 days and then when you stop you should bleed, GP's generally have no problem prescribing this - you can see from my chart that I did this and still didnt bleed which was the first step on the road to getting a proper diagnosis. I did this after about 11 weeks post ERPC i think. I wish i had done it sooner.

mouse not over till the fat lady sings! I'd say you tested to soon and IC not reliable so early. Good luck!!

lilyO6 I didnt use CBFM, I decided that bulk buying cheap ovulation tests on Amazon and using two a day would be cheaper (25 for 5 quid!), and managed to detect ov that way. I was charting too, including cervix checking and found that extreemly useful.

Zam sympathies, I have a sick child too - its about the 5th cold in 3 months! (damn nursery school) hope that queeze turns into proper symptoms Smile xxx

MissTinaTeaspoon · 22/08/2011 15:33

battery boo to af still hiding, but I'm glad the GP is taking you seriously! What bloods are they doing?

Get well soon to little zam x

lily I'm a fan of cb digitals, they are so so easy and you can use fmu. But I didn't bother this month, I'm trying charting, which has proved cheaper but much more stressful!

Waves to mummya dachs and everyone else who's found their way over x

edwardcullensotherwoman · 22/08/2011 16:11

Any room for a small one? I'm (hopefully) on track to start ttc again this month after mc in May, and I may need a bit of hand-holding Blush

Congrats to everyone with BFPs and best of luck to everyone else! Smile

MissTinaTeaspoon · 22/08/2011 16:57

Hi Edwards, I remember you from the ttc post mc room (I used to be meliesmummy), welcome to the common room, put up a chair and get comfy! Smile

edwardcullensotherwoman · 22/08/2011 17:27

Thanks Tina ! I remember you too, hope all is well. Are we expecting many more? I'm afraid I've not frequented the common room before, so I've no idea who the regulars are! The other ttc boards seem to get a bit overloaded and I have trouble keeping up but this place looks nice and roomy so far Grin

MummyAbroad · 22/08/2011 18:05

hello and welcome edwards make yourself comfy Smile

tina I didnt know you used to be melliesmummy hello! Grin

Loup23 · 22/08/2011 18:07

Just bookmarking as off on hols and where would I be without this forum to catch upn during my break Grin!

Yay for 2-3 weeks dachs, and yay for no AF mouse and tina. mouse i didn't get a BFP (back in Feb) until 14dpo on i/c so don' t think they are too good at early detection....

Apologies for dash and run, waves to all and heads off to frantically throw clothes in a case and head for france - x

digitalgirl · 22/08/2011 18:24

Hooray for cbd graduation to 2-3 dachs looks like all is progressing well so far.

mouse sorry for bfn but if you are only 11dpo then it still might be too early. My bfp at 12dpo was so so faint on the ic, but fr came up quickly and clearly.

lily I used a combination of charting my temps and cheap opk's. Sometimes I'd get a faint positive on an opk but my temp would rise, so I'd know to discount the opk. Other times I'd get what I thought was a temp rise after not a hint of a line on the opk and I'd know that my temp rise was prob a one off and not due to ovulating. It was the cheapest way to pinpoint ov for me as my cycles were 40 days plus. If you have a regular shortish cycle I would get whatever you're most comfortable interpreting as temping and reading cheap Internet opk's can take a couple of cycles to figure out.

battery sorry to hear af is taking it's time. How long has it been since you ovulated? If you're 17dpo have you done a pg test to rule it out? If so, then if you can't get your gp to refer you for a scan then maybe you could pay for a private one to see what's going on? But mummya has brilliant advice as always.

Tina have you worked out how many dpo you are now?

ecow hello (hope you don't mind the abb.) and welcome. Good luck with ttc again.

Have been quite busy again today - day off with ds as his Childminder is on hols - and now I'm getting stitch like pains low down so am convalescing on the sofa. Think (hope) the steroids are masking any tiredness, so it's not till I start to ache that I remember to sit down. Tomorrow I have a 4 hour kids casting - looking for a 'brother' & 'sister' for my next shoot. Am hoping I can spend most of it sat on my arse - but I usually have to run around to get the kids warmed up.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 22/08/2011 18:53

mummya I did say when I changed my name! Did you ever wonder where Melies had gone?! Hmm Grin

I think 8 dpo digi, ff still thinks 14 though HmmConfused

batteryhen · 22/08/2011 19:08

lily I have a cbfm, and I chart too, but not since my last mc. The cbfm is good, but as I tend to be fairly regular I didn't really need it to tell me when I am ovulating xx

digi Thanks xx I have done a test and Bfn, but now today I have started some low down right cramps and lots of cm so god only knows what is going on. I am taking MAs advice too xx Good luck tomorrow!

Welcome ecow xxxx

loup Have a fab holiday xx

kat2504 · 22/08/2011 19:16

I've managed just as well with the internet cheapie tests as I did with the cb monitor. And saved a lot of money. But it's important not to wait until the positive result to have sex, as most conceptions are the result of sex before ovulation. If your cycle is quite regular and you can detect ovulation with cheapies and you monitor your cm I would not fork out on the CBFM.

mouse i recommend the superdrug tests over the cheapies. Obviously due to the price you can't piss on five of them a day, but they have a nice dark purple dye and they are sensitive to 10miu. I got a bfp at 11dpo and it was a clear line, no squinting or holding up to window like I did with cheapies.

mousebacon · 22/08/2011 21:43

Thanks Kat If AF doesn't arrive tomorrow then I'll pop into town for a gazillion couple of those!

I keep swinging from 'I must be pg' to 'don't be ridiculous...'

loup hope you have a great hol. I've just booked the three of us a weekend of zoo, aquarium and railway museum for DS so that's our bank holiday sorted!

Welcome ecow I recognise you too Smile

Hope you're ok battery

Waves to all Smile

I should be having a caesarean today SadSadSad

mousebacon · 23/08/2011 09:06

Oh tina, I'm so sorry. Sad It's so hard on days like this isn't it? I hope you can have a relaxing day if at all possible. I'll be thinking of you xx

OP posts:
edwardcullensotherwoman · 23/08/2011 11:15

oh Tina Sad Brew ? Thinking of you today. My friend 2 doors down is due around the same time I would have been, it's so hard some days. Be kind to yourself today Smile

MissTinaTeaspoon · 23/08/2011 12:34

Thanks for thinking of me. I have got some light at the end of the tunnel though...would this look like a triphasic chart to any of you? Smile (although if I ignore the crosshairs and go by my interpretation I'm only 8dpo today, and the 3rd phase started 5dpo...is that too early?)

mousebacon · 23/08/2011 17:23

That looks promising tina Smile

My chart looked triphasic until this morning! I reckon AF will be here tomorrow but don't feel too depressed about it Hmm

digitalgirl · 23/08/2011 20:55

mouse has temp dropped today?

Tina sorry today is such a sad reminder but as you say, chart is looking positive!

battery any sign of AF today?

Blackkat · 23/08/2011 20:57

tina big (((hugs))) to you today, thinking of you xxx

mousebacon · 23/08/2011 21:06

It did digi but still well above the coverline. Just a waiting game now. No sign so far. How's you?

tina these days are always so awful, I hope you managed to get through it ok xx

mouse when is AF due?

digi no sign of AF. I am trying not to worry too much - I am going to wait till I should have AF again and see what happens. All my hormones came back normal which I thought they would. I do wonder if maybe my lining was so thin that there was nothing to shed this time? I know last time I fretted so much about my periods that I had a hysteroscopy which showed everything was fine. I am going to have a day 21 progesterone done after I have OVd so I can say to the dr - I am ovulating but no bleeding. I am also unsure whether or not to start taking the steroids next week when I think I will ovulate?

TomboyWife · 23/08/2011 22:26

Tina (((hugs))) Hope you're holding up okay.
