Roll up, roll up...

This is the place to be if you are ttc post mc / pregnancy loss and need a little spot to call home.

mouse how long is your usual lp? Mine's quite long at 15/16 which I wondered was to do with long cycles (slow reaction to hormone changes?)

Am keeping busy. Had to tell colleague at work I'm pg so she could re-organise my schedule around the scan on the 7th (and organise cover just in case). At the same time I had an email from a freelancer friend who had to turn some work down we offered her because she'd had a mc Sad. I told her I'd had a few and if she ever wanted to talk...

battery are you counting from cd1 again then? Maybe you should email Mr S and ask whether you should take the steroids this cycle. He'll probably offer you a scan - which will be v expensive first time - but if you can get your nhs cons to sort one out then he'll prob accept their findings. Have you actually had a post-erpc scan? Sorry if you've mentioned this but apart from cm and ov pains how were you checking for ovulation? Is it possible you haven't ovulated and maybe this cm is another attempt?

batteryhen · 24/08/2011 06:47

*digi8 I have been temping - albeit sporadically as I am not sure exactly when I ovulated as when I started checking it I was already post ov temps. I think it was about 3 weeks ago though. I have thought - what if i treid to Ov and didn't? I had my hcg done on the monday and it was 7 - then due to my tempsI ovulated about 3 days later - is this even possible? I have not had a scan but had my hcg done on monday which was less than 1. I am going to ask my gp for a scan next week pre - ov (I think) to check how thick my lining is. I have been reading lesley regans book which is quite reassuring too. I am trying not to get too panicked yet.

A colleague (male) who i have not seen for ages yesterday said to me -'I hear congrats are in order' and looked at my tummy. I promptly burst into tears. I am so tearful - and it is all to do with the fact my stupid crap body is letting me down again. :(

mouse still hoping for you xxx

mousebacon · 24/08/2011 07:01

Morning ladies. Sorry you're still in limbo battery I really hope you get some answers soon.

Were work ok with you digi ?

My lp is usually 14 days but I have had a couple of 15 dayers too. Temps 36.41 this morning. More waiting!

OP posts:
MissTinaTeaspoon · 24/08/2011 08:08

Temps still above the coverline then mouse Smile Have you tested today? I'm still crossing my fingers for you!

battery your wtf cycle is certainly a wtf isn't it?!

Thanks for all the kind words yesterday. I had a good cry when dh got home (after a huge meltdown row over cleaning!), I'm sure my current run of one in/one off/one in etc night shifts, plus hormones didn't help, nor did my friend's news that she's now an auntie or colleague's fb status about how she's got one week to go. I've still got my edd to get through next Tuesday too, the day we go to France. Of course a bfp before then would take the edge of a bit! (af due on Monday).

Anyone heard from yrmotb since her scan?

Youremindmeofthebabe · 24/08/2011 08:51

Sorry, sorry, I'm here! Had my scan, all was good, except I have a misbehaving baby who refused to cooperate for the final of the 3 heart views, thus necessitating another trip in 2 weeks time to try and get the other view needed. Plus side is another look at bean in 2 weeks! She did say that there wasn't anything so far to worry about though. I nearly cracked and asked her what flavour it was when DP and DS were outside the room waiting for me, but managed to restrain myself. And since then have been for a weekend away in a lovely old farmhouse in Shropshire for my friend's birthday. So sorry for the lack of updatage!

Who was asking about ov sticks? I found them really useful, mainly as I had a fade-in pattern. Quite uncommon, according to my research! But basically the sticks would start to darken around 5 days before ov. Very useful for timed shags!

battery I thought that HCG had to be less than 5 for 10-14 days before you ovulate? God knows where I read that though, but I will have a look for you to see if I can locate it again. Really feel for you, it's such a shitter not knowing what's going on. I waited nearly 9 weeks after my erpc, which was tortuous.

mouse you're still up there then. That's good. Fingers firmly crossed for you.

digi how was the party? It sounds like a boy's dream! Are you mainly in denial, or do you seem to be dealing with it ok?

tina Ooh, a holiday! Lush. And if AF due, then you get to either be pg or have a few drinks on holiday. Brilliant. Sorry about EDD. It is horrible, but you might feel a little weight lift after. Hopefully, at any rate. I know I did. It wasn't really a race anymore, IYSWIM.

Hi edwardsother Nice to get new faces in here, and it is quite calm, relatively, over here! Sorry to hear about your MC.

Waves to lily, kat, blackkat, loup, collie, ma, izz and everyone

Youremindmeofthebabe · 24/08/2011 08:55

battery I found this- looks like the doctors don't really know either.Sad

"More than likely you were not ovulating while the hCG levels were at a pregnant level. As far as whether you will ovulate with an hCG level of 10, I would say that would be dependent upon each woman and her specific cycle pattern and hormone levels. It is not a question I can answer with a 'yes' or 'no' for you. Is it possible - yes. Did you, specifically - I have no idea."

mousebacon · 24/08/2011 09:12

So pleased for you yrmotb Grin

I haven't tested this morning but I have kept my fmu Blush just in case AF isn't here by tea time. I'm popping into work today so that should be a good distraction.

Waves to all x

Blackkat · 24/08/2011 09:28

YRMOTB so pleased that Friday's news was all good, and pleased that you get another peek in 2 weeks time. Smile

Mouse will have my FX for you all day xx

Battery so sorry to hear you are going through this stress. After my mc, natural rather than ERPC mind, I was convinced I ovulated, didn't temp, didn't check anything, though noticed more EWCM, just intuition. My Consultant, when I told him was fairly resolute that I wouldn't have done so soon after a mc, despite a text book 28 day cycle. His opinion was that my hormones would likely still be imbalanced so as not to ovulate but still to trick me with AF. So sorry to hear about your colleague at work yesterday. ((hugs))

Tina hope today is better than yesterday x

to everyone else

digitalgirl · 24/08/2011 09:29

Glad scan went well yrmotb

battery after one of my mc's my temps stayed elevated for a few weeks then dropped but no af. I think I ovulated maybe a week after the temps dropped so got af two weeks after that. I think it's much more likely you didn't ovulate rather than did but no af. Perhaps the cramping is your lining starting to build up and your ovaries starting to produce follicles.

Haven't told boss yet, colleague I told yesterday has just told me she is also pg. Nearly 12 weeks.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 24/08/2011 09:30

Grin for yrmotb, for good scan and bonus scan! Dd did the exact same thing when they tried to see her heart valves, I just had to go back 30 minutes later, I didn't get to have another scan 2 weeks later. I'm a bit Hmm about going to France, it's to stay with the ILs but we're hoping to take their camper van out for a night which dd is very excited about.

AandRMum · 24/08/2011 11:07

Yay YRMOTB lovely to get another squizz and I admire your restraint!

How is your campervan going Tomboy?

Digi we are also having a bday for DD on Monday - feeling a bit crap Mum as I just can't seem to organise myself to do anything for it yet - it is DH's birthday the day before and just the present buying seems to have done me in. Send any spare cakes and decs over this way!

Sorry battery that your wtf is truly living up to it's name - the not knowing is so frightening and frustrating. Big squeeze - I will make you a Brew as I can't offer any useful advice!

Tina here is a Brew for you too - there is so much going on for you at the moment isn't there.

Welcome ecow (tell us if the shortening is annoying ... it gives me a giggle everytime I read it - not sure why!)

LadyB can you send back some zen please - mine is a having a bit of a wobble at the moment, we found out this morning that we have a potential 8 week delay on the house and won't start until November. I just cried my eyes out - I have so linked the house and getting upduffed that it feels like we will never get this house built or baby born! My blood results finally came back - they are all 'normal' - I know I should be happy but when I asked what happens next Do I just try again and see what happens? the response was I guess so - said with a laugh Sad

Waves to all ....

MummyAbroad · 24/08/2011 13:41

Tina sorry about your due date, its a very rough time, hope you are being extra kind to yourself.

mouse suspenders are on!

YRMOTB Grin Grin Grin for scan news!!! Hope you are feeling the weight slipping from your shoulders!

battery have PM'd you lots. Hope you are OK today. xxx

Has anyone seen Izzy recently? How is she doing?

Not much news here, still doing driving lessons, translating, looking after poorly DS and muddling through with life. Love to all. xxx

digitalgirl · 24/08/2011 14:41

mummya small request, do you still have that link to recommended hormone levels for progesterone day 21 test etc? A lady on the ttc on pred thread is concerned about her results.

MummyAbroad · 24/08/2011 14:45

is it this one?

www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html#female

digitalgirl · 24/08/2011 15:40

Exactly that - thanks mummya

mousebacon · 24/08/2011 16:14

Hmm... Tiny bit of brown at lunch time. Still no AF. Plenty of aches tho so defo on it's way.

OP posts:
Velvetcu · 24/08/2011 17:11

Grin for good scan news yrmotb

How long til the driving test mummya

battery sorry wtf is being a pain, my first af was 10 weeks post erpc.

Sorry to hear you've got brown stuff mouse but looking back through my diary a had it every day from about 8 -18 dpo! It's so hard to be hopeful and remain realistic isn't it Sad

Hello to all, I'm on my phone so can't scroll back - a disadvantage of the mn app methinks!

DiffedAgainDachs · 24/08/2011 17:48

mouse I seem to remember when i was pg with the twins I was so utterly convinced it hadn't worked I freaked out on MN a lot. I had cramps and brown and was sure it was AF. Sorry you think it's not your month though :( Have you got any other tests in the house?

mousebacon · 24/08/2011 19:18

Tested negative again! Aaaggh! Still IC but sure I'd have 2 lines if there was any chance by now.

OP posts:
batteryhen · 24/08/2011 20:33

mouse how frustrating :(. It is one of those situations where only time will tell, which frankly is bloody annoying xx

velvet thank you for your words - was your AF normal or any different after your erpc?

babe how lovely of you to dig that out for me - I did think it was too soon to ov - thats why I didn't do any opk, which I regret now :(

blackkat Thanks for your thoughts too - I am hoping that I haven't ov- and that I am reading my body wrong .

AandR I feel your frustration. It is so frustrating and annoying when things are beyond your control. In the past week I have wanted to scream and punch a wall just out of sheer frustration. xxx

digi I am hoping that my lining is thickening - I am eating weird foodstuffs by the gallon in an attempt to get it thickened!

My news is that there is no news - my bloods showed normal results for a follicular phase,soI reckon Ov next week sometime. My mid week trip to see DH is planned - however I do realise that if my womb/lining/life is still shit then I won't be conceiving at all

I am repeating a phrase that I heard Chris Evans say ...'change what you can, accept what you can't' and trying to put it in action. xx

waves to all you lovely ladies xxx

MummyAbroad · 24/08/2011 22:21

YRMOTB test is oct 24, two weeks before due date Hmm Lovely Costa Rican bureaucracy wont let me pick a more sensible date - I will give it a go if I feel up to it, but there is every chance I will have to cancel due to having too large a belly (and then wait another 3 months Hmm) In the meantime I am enjoying the lessons, its really nice to do something totally un baby related. Today I went up a mountain on a skinny road full of pot holes with great big fat trucks coming hurtling down in the other direction! Its certainly a great way to take your mind off your troubles!!!

xxxxx

edwardcullensotherwoman · 24/08/2011 22:27

Evening ladies! Hope everyone is well.

YRMOTB excellent news on your scan! Grin

mouse You poor thing - nothing worse than the waiting game.

Anyway, just a quick dash in today to see how everyone is. I have no news at all atm, just waiting for AF to leave so we can finally pick up where we left off!

TomboyWife · 24/08/2011 22:39

Evening ladies!

Sorry for being AWOL recently, but it's been rather a hectic time. About which more in a minute.

battery sorry your WTF is still so WTF. How long is it now since your mc? I took a little over 8 weeks between mine and AF; it seemed my body didn't want to do the AF thing except at times when AF would normally have been due.

mouse fingers x that the brown stuff isn't AF.

AandR the camper van is still not ready, but I went to see it and the mechanic on Saturday and the new paint job is on and looking really good. There's no particular hurry now that our trip earlier this month couldn't happen the way we'd planned. DH is still despondent about the whole thing, not surprisingly.

Well, it's been an exciting few days for me. I'm officially definitely changing jobs now. I had a verbal offer from the new place on Monday, contract through yesterday, and resigned from my current job this morning. I've still got my notice period to go, but with unused holiday it's just a couple of weeks really. And I so want to be un-pg when I start at the new place. The lack of symptoms so far has been encouraging, but I'm still working on a contingency "I'm so sorry, it really was an accident" speech just in case.

Someone asked what I do for a living. I'm in IT. The change will be from a very big company that you've definitely heard of, to a less massive but still very big company that you might have heard of. Both places will have plenty of experience of people taking maternity leave, it's not like I'd be dropping a three-person business in the poo if I were updiffed when I started, but still...

Velvetcu · 24/08/2011 22:46

battery my first af was quite heavy and all of them since erpc were much redder than they ever were before.

Freezingmyarseoff · 24/08/2011 23:01

Evening all,
Took me a while to find the new thread, and I'm afraid I haven't had much time to catch up properly so I'm just marking my spot for now.

Waves to everyone, will do a proper read through of the news tomorrow.
