Period late, pregnancy test negative...

This is in many ways a really stupid and irritating post because I know the only answer is "wait and see", but I am finding it REALLY hard to wait and see, and have spent about £400 on pregnancy tests this month (all of which have been negative).

I had my IUD removed on the 20th May and have had two periods since then, which seemed to be regular. This month I had serious period-style pain about a week before my period was due, then again this weekend (when it actually WAS due)... But I did a test today and it was negative. Since they claim to be 99% accurate, does this mean that it's more likely that I am just not as regular as I thought I was, or is it still possible to be pregnant (wishful think, wishful think)?!

It's over. AF got me. 11 days late.
Bugger.

God, sorry to hear that. AF is a AH sometimes...

I am still waiting, but no positive test, so I am guessing AF is coming too :(

The annoying thing is going to be knowing when I'm likely to ov next. Guess I just need to SWI all month.

Rotten luck Pipbin. I'm having to chart because I have no idea what my ancient body is doing, and despite this, it's still not making a whole load of sense! SWI it is then! :o

AF came by yesterday. :(

I am so convinced that something started happening after SWI like with my DS, maybe "it" didn't take, if that can happen at this early stage.

Anyway, I will enjoy a wine and run now and get ready for next time. I have my giant order of ovulation sticks at the ready!

Hi everyone been reading all your posts & found it so refreshing others are/were in the same boat, I'm now 15 days late for Af & almost 30 dpo went to docs Monday just gone she made me poas & still negative! Never been this late & the frustration of not knowing is awful! She advised to give it another 7-10 days n re test! Got all the symptoms n very frustrated!!

hello all. I have read this with interest as i am finding myself in this situation. Not been pregnant before so no idea what to 'feel'. Also i had no idea there were diffeernt tests (though you just peed on a stick after your AF was last). I just bought the cheapy boots own 2 for £5 this morning!

Anyway, on day 29 of my cycle which usually is 24-28 days long. we ttc on all the right days andi have been taking temp daily. Apart from going down to 35.9 at ovulation it went back to normal 36.4 and has stayed like that ever since. Is that normal?

So even tho my budget test was negative could i still be pregnant?

From what I have been reading, yes.
I understand it like this: You can only get a positive after implantation. Implantation happens 10 days or so after conception. So if you ovulate on day 14 ten days later is day 24, you period is then late and bingo, positive test.
However, that it if you have a text book cycle. You might ovulate a couple of days late, therefore would implant late and then the positive would show up late.

it is so awful waiting like this. My DP is away, which is good as i would drive him mad. As he would me - he keeps talking to my stomach and asking if a baby is in there. He genuinely doesn't get that you wouldn't feel it.

I started a new job this week and can barely concentrate, they must think i'm really shit!

DP back Sunday, so i hope i have a resolution by then. I'm going crazy!!

another question oh wise ones. If you pee on the ovulation sticks and you don't get a line but your temp drops on the scheduled ovulation day. does that mean you haven't ovulated or you have?

Because i was doing the stick peeing thing but the line was so faint i'm not sure if i imagined it, or if i could see it before i'd even pee'd anyway just because of the light.

Hi Spuddybean I'm in exactly the same situation today. I poas and I got a faint line. My temp plummeted this morning which should mean that I'm ovulating. It is possible, however, that I hadn't quite done so when I poas...am I getting this right, oh those with greater knowledge than I???

Unhelpfully I never took my temp, but I used the sticks and looked for the egg white discharge - you looking for that too?

I know from Zita West's book that the ovulation "spike" can be missed as doesn't always last 24 hours, so you could be ovulating and not see a line.

Sadly got AF this morning :(

Oh well, more trying next week. It's so depressing. i know i should be positive but i can't help but think i'm never going to get pregnant.

we have been trying for 3 months. So i know i sound like a dramatic loon! But i am nearly 35 and i just feel it in my water that i will never have a child. I know i sound mad.

My DP thought the moment we stopped using condoms i would be preggers. I tried telling him it would take time but he kept putting it off till the time was perfect now i think it is too late.

Also he has phimosis (graphic description warning!) and when he ejaculates the sperm doesn't 'shoot' out as it were and just sort of trickles out the side in the wrong direction. (he will not even consider a circumcision)

I just don't think it's getting where it needs to be. Also he travels and has a lower sex drive than me so actually having enough sex at the right time is also an issue. (although we have spent the last 2 months doing it everyday on the fertile weeks)

I just feel that with all this the odds are stacked against us. I am also really angry i am in this situation. It is the reason my husband and i divorced. After 11 years together (1 married) he decided he didn't want kids. I was 32.

I'm 36 and TTC #1 and I have the same feeling in my waters.

My DH thought that it would happen the first time we started 'fighting with live ammo'.
I came off the pill in April and we started straight from there but only lasted one cycle before we held it off due to job problems.
I then spent the next two months trying to talk him round until one night we both had a drink and, well ........

Without going into too much detail this is now my third period after coming off the pill, late, but it feels different, it feels like a real one if that makes sense. I feel like the last of the pill is out of my system.

Cheers pip. i just feel i've left everything too late. Like everyone else, i feel powerless and wish there was more i could do to help the process - it just seems so unfair to have to leave everything to chance.

Hey mercury have you had any news yet? I'm 4 days late now an got a BFN on a CB digital test yesterday. I'm NEVER late but also really don't think I'm pg. don't really know what to do...

I had mine taken out first of Feb and ive been regular since then but in 4 days late now and getting a neg on my tests. Trying not to over think it but I'm getting annoyed.

Im sorry...by "mine taken out" I mean my IUD...

Hi wanted to see if I could get some advise , I got married in January and stopped taking my pill ( witch I have been on for about 7 years) since then we have been trying for a baby , had not luck so far but my periods have been very regular, but this month I am late (6 days now) I done a test on the day I was due on ( a Clare blue digital the ones that's say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" ) witch come up not pregnant , I done anyone when I was 4 days late again not pregnant and I have done an other one today witch is still telling me I'm not pregnant , I didn't have a little pain a few days ago ( like pireod pains ) but apart from that I don't feel like I'm going to come on , at the same time i don't feel like I'm pregnant , not that I'm sure what that feels like as this is my 1st time trying . I just want to no what's going on , am I doing any thing wrong ?! I'm only 22 and feel like it shouldn't be taking me this long to fall

Hi wondering if anyone has any advice i’ve been trying to conceive for last 3 months since having my implant out. My period is now 4 days late I took one of the cheap boots strip tests when I expected my period to come (as I didn’t want to splash out on clear blue cause I was taking it quite early). But now it’s been a few more days and i’ve been having cramps but only on my right side near my hip bone every now and again for past week, my breasts have got bigger and are sensitive. I don’t want to be over thinking it and feel dissappointed but do you think it’s worth getting clear blue test and testing tomorrow first thing in the morning or should I wait another week to make it more accurate? Thanks!
