Period late, pregnancy test negative...

This is in many ways a really stupid and irritating post because I know the only answer is "wait and see", but I am finding it REALLY hard to wait and see, and have spent about £400 on pregnancy tests this month (all of which have been negative).

I had my IUD removed on the 20th May and have had two periods since then, which seemed to be regular. This month I had serious period-style pain about a week before my period was due, then again this weekend (when it actually WAS due)... But I did a test today and it was negative. Since they claim to be 99% accurate, does this mean that it's more likely that I am just not as regular as I thought I was, or is it still possible to be pregnant (wishful think, wishful think)?!

Well its over for me. AF arrived this evening 5 days late which has never happened to me before. Maybe it was one of those chemical pregnancies? Anyway I'm actually quite relieved now because i was getting quite stressed. Good luck to you all... i will be looking out for your updates!

Pipbin · 27/07/2011 23:30

I would be fairly happy to see her too sandy.
I see what's going on. She is just waiting until I go away for maximum disruption.

Angiebops · 27/07/2011 23:33

Hi all, sorry to hear af arrived sandy. at least you know now and can try again next month. Well tested yesterday and did get a bfp. So just starting to get a little excited and now i have had the lightest of spotting so its probably all going to be over in the next few days. boo. will keep you posted xx good luck pipbin

Hello

Been reading the thread with interest. Sorry for those of you that have received your AF, but I guess it puts an end to the "not knowing", which provides a little "relief" in someways. The not knowing is hellish.

With my DS I tested 10 positive after conception, which consider I have a longish (30 days I think, haven't been watching very carefully recently) is v early.

This time...I have felt bloated periody since we tried around my ovulation time, which is what first preg was like - which I am not completely sure about, went on when it was last time - but still no positive test.

Rather worried about my ability to think/convince myself of the symptoms if I am not pregnant.

No AF as yet.

Am going to try not to buy any more pregancy tests for a few days.

Arrrhhh.

Thinking of us all!

WS

Angiebops · 28/07/2011 08:09

Welcome ws. Same with me I tested positive so early with ds and have all the pregnancy signs now but have only had faint positives this time. I am convinced that I am pregnant - dont know it just feels right. I really stupidly bought a heap of cheap internet tests and have been testing far too much to see if line has darkened/deepened/dissapeared (has done all!). I this I have come to the realisation that I can do one of two things:
a) obsess on a daily basis over said line
b) enjoy being pregnant even if it may only be for a short time.
either way I will be gutted if it doesnt work out so im taking option b. NO MORE TESTS (for at least a week anyway...)

I guess we just have to remember every pregnancy is different. How old is your ds? Mine is 17months.

Any news mercury or pipbin??

Pipbin · 28/07/2011 10:05

Nothing. No AF yet. I don't feel pregnant but as I never have been I don't really have a frame of reference.
More First Response tests came from Amazon yesterday, I'll test tomorrow morning but I don't hold out much hope.

I swear if I stare at my nipples any longer they are going to get bigger and darker just to stop me looking.

Mercury123 · 28/07/2011 10:50

A positive no matter how faint is good Angie Smile good luck I hope you are.

2 weeks late tomorrow still BFN

As time goes on I'm a little less stressed and will be ok if AF comes Id just rather know. I think ive convinced myself I'm not PG, surely I'd have a positive by now if I was?

I think she (AF) is just trying to trick me because she is evil lol

Dragini · 28/07/2011 11:24

Ladies, DB digital tests are on offer in t'asda at £7.50 for a single and £10 for a twin.

Of course I read the label, and of course it said you can expect a positive result from 4 days before AF is due. So I did one last night (10 dpo, in the evening and managed to pee most of the little bit I had onto the bath mat) - BFN :(

I KNEW it was a waste of time and I KNEW it was too early, but a colleague has just told me she's pg and I had to be supportive and pretend to be happy and not jealous at all

Just shows how daft DH is though. His question this morning was "does it make you feel broody" to which he got a mouthful in reply. He then went quite quiet for a bit and I think now he's finally starting to realise how important this is for me (he already has DD from a previous marriage, who is lovely but not mine) Arghhhhh! Thank God for MN!!

Sandydunes · 28/07/2011 13:53

Congralations Angiebops! Can you get someone to hide the tests from you so that you're not tempted to test?!

Pipbin and Mercury, I really hope you get a BFP. And if not, as Mercury said...the relief of knowing what is going on is good.

I'm still a bit puzzled as to why AF was so late, as its totally normal and not at all heavy or painful...but I'm excited today about being able to start properly trying this month. I'd better start saving the pennies for all the First Response I will want to buy.............

Pipbin · 28/07/2011 13:57

Even cheaper on Amazon Dragini Here

I don't get them as I don't know if they have any kind of battery in them and therefore I don't want to put them in the bin.

I'm off to visit a very pregnant friend for a couple of days tomorrow. I wonder if pregnancy is catching?

Angiebops · 28/07/2011 21:47

well i tested again this morning! BFN boo. boobs seem less tender and having slight spotting. Obviously just a waiting game now. If it is all over I just wish it would happen! hope everyone else is doing ok?

Pipbin · 28/07/2011 22:42

Decidedly fed now Angie. Off to stay with friends and family all over the country this should stop me obsessing.
Right now I would be happy to get AF and just know where I stood.

Pipbin · 29/07/2011 07:21

Tested again this morning. BFN.

I think I'd best just assume that AF is missing in action.

desperateoldie67 · 29/07/2011 09:00

Shoot the bitch Pip! I wish mine would bugger off as she's tormenting me with the most godawful cramps, but it's a massive great song and dance about not very much IYSWIM. Apparently my body is feeling particularly sadistic this month :(

Ah well, SWI with toyboy next weekend :) Always a plus :o

Angiebops · 29/07/2011 09:22

well all over red rover for me. cramping this afternoon followed by af/mc. actually feeling ok about it. a few vodka and cokes tonight have certainly helped! at least i know for sure. just wish my fecking boobs would stop aching.

Hope the country air gives you some answers pip. i am still holding some hope for you. someone i know did not test positive until 8 weeks preg. heres hoping you are like her! Cheers Wine

Mercury123 · 31/07/2011 00:39

Well it's now over two weeks mark, still no AF and BFN!! Lots of symptoms though!

It is driving me less crazy now as so much time has passed, Im thinking what will be will be.

Will keep you all updated.

Sorry to hear that AF has arrived for others, she really needs to take a hint!! Smile

Pipbin · 31/07/2011 01:03

She's still not here. I'm hoping I've caught a baby from my pregnant friend I'm staying with.

She didn't realise she was preggo until week 10!

Mercury123 · 31/07/2011 01:57

ooo yes lets hope its catching :D

Had cuddles from the cutest baby girl today. She is only 18 weeks. So adorable.

Im broody all the time at the best of times but now its bad! I could cry at a babygrow!

vcs27 · 31/07/2011 09:15

Hi ladies, I am 4/5 days late now and have done 4 pregnancy tests all of which BFN!! I am never, ever this late! But I have been having dull aches which I am normally get before AF since last week and I don't feel pg. What is going on?!!

Mercury123 · 31/07/2011 11:24

Since being late I am shocked at how many people have got BFN but are pregnant (LOTS of googling!)

Cant say I have a lot of faith in those little sticks anymore.

Sandydunes · 31/07/2011 16:04

Sorry to hear that Angiebops. Hope the vodka and coke helped a bit. I'm going to treat myself to some wine tonight as will be starting the trying again next week!

Good luck to everyone still waiting... hope you get answers soon. It is so frustrating and i was only 5 days late, not a couple of weeks

Pipbin · 01/08/2011 19:08

Still nothing. AF still absent.
I'm away so I have no tests to take.
I'll do another when I get back then head to the doctor.

Pipbin · 02/08/2011 09:17

Still no AF.

watersign76 · 02/08/2011 20:50

Me neither. Have no more tests in the drawer. Refusing to buy any for another week.

Fingers crossed for those of us left..could it be a Mar/April baby....

Angiebops · 02/08/2011 21:44
