New thread, hopefully not clashing with another new thread! This Is Our Month, Rat Smackers.

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 24/07/2011 19:26

Argh AF arrived with a vengeance this morning so the PEE STICKS WERE RIGHT. Grrrrrrr.
Hope you have all had better luck this month rat smackers??

Biscuitsandtea · 24/07/2011 19:44

Oh that's poo Farfalla :( While AF is here make sure you take the opportunity to give her a darn good talking to about taking advantage of your hospitable nature. Tell her she is no longer welcome and to take a hike.

Patience, Maybe, Scream (and anyone else still in the game this month - I'm rubbish at remembering everyone Blush) - I still have high hopes for you ladies - look forward to hearing further test results.

I can't work out when to test if AF doesn't show. If I get to the end of tomorrow then that is 15 dpo which (out of a sample of 2) would be my longest LP yet. However, AF is currently about 5 days late. But had i ovulated when I would have done normally then AF would probably have been due today or so (iyswim) so really Tuesday is only 1 or 2 days late.

Sometimes I wonder if I over think things....... Hmm

My plan is this: If I get to Tuesday and nothing I'm buying a test - what sort do you reckon? FR? CBD? Then I'll see how long I can hold out before testing.

I have some cheapies that were sent with my monitor but I am sure I read somewhere on the internet about them occasionally giving false positives (don't know how?) and that isn't really a road I want to go down!

Anyway, hope those that have unwelcome visitors are supping a nice large glass of Wine. I have just ordered a take away curry for one (what a loner) as DH has gone away tonight for work and I have some cheesecake left from yesterday and Sex and the City on DVD so I think that is pretty much my evening set up......

Am saving my bottle of Rose JUST IN CASE anyone shows up (like that auntie who turns up every month uninvited)

xxxx

thelittlefriend · 24/07/2011 19:46

Rubbish news Farfalla. Just think though, 40 weeks from today is your new due date!

Biscuits I'm feeling very hopeful about you. Definitely test Tuesday if not before

Biscuitsandtea · 24/07/2011 19:55

Good luck to you too Littlefriend - is it later this week AF is due taking a hike?

thelittlefriend · 24/07/2011 20:00

Thanks biscuits. Risking sounding a bit thick, but I'm not sure when af is due! My cycle is all over the place. Last month it was 20 days (!) which would actually make me due today. (BFN). But I know that unless I'm ovulating ridiculously early, I won't have a long enough lp if my cycle stays that short. So I'm actually hoping it's not due til next weekend. But that I get an early BFP tomorrow!!

GenericDietCola · 24/07/2011 20:04

Farfalla sorry about AF. My consolation this time was that it's good to know my body is back to normal following the mc. It sucks though, when all you want is to be pg again. This month.

Biscuits good idea to try to wait until Tuesday. Think of it as delayed gratification..

Happy Sunday everyone.

havealittlefaithbaby · 24/07/2011 20:25

Comiserations to farfalla. Sorry to test that.
biscuits those internet cheapies are actually very sensitive. The 'false positives' relates to early testing -they'd pick up hcg earlier on than most tests but the risk is that it results in a chemical pregnancy (which was me 3 cycles ago). At this point in your cycle the result on a cheapo is likely to be accurate. A cbd may give you a false.negative because they aren't very sensitive!
I dunno what's going on with my body! Antibiotics have knocked uti on the head but spent most of today sleeping off a migraine.Angry I will be well by tomorrow, I'm brooking no argument!

Biscuitsandtea · 24/07/2011 20:51

Have get yourself better!!! I am brooking no argument. I want you fit and ready by this time tomorrow or else it'll be 'down and give me 20' Seriously though here's some hugs to help you feel better xxx Smile

Generic sorry to hear about your mc - really hope this next one is your month (and of course for everyone else who hasn't found a pee stick to agree with them this month). And as you say, at least you know everything is back to 'normal' (whatever that means....)

Incidentally, obviously I understand the general sense of it, but I have never heard of the phrase 'brooking no argument' before MN. Have I led a very sheltered life?

Hope everyone else is ok xxx

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 24/07/2011 21:28

Sorry to hear AF caught up with you Farfalla, she's a evil witch! Don't worry though, this month really will be your month!

Sorry Biscuits I'm really not in the running this month anymore. Pretty gutted about it, I really thought this was going to be it with all the nausea and dizziness! However it's way too late for me to get a BFP now, and AF will be knocking on my door tonight or tomorrow I expect. I'll be even more committed to BROOKING NO ARGUMENT next cycle though, clearly I just didn't get onto this thread earlier enough this time round!

This whole ttc thing is even more emotional then I was expecting to be honest. I'm not looking forward to starting all over again, but that's why I keep coming back on here - to soak up all the positivity from you lovely ladies! I'm sorry if this is too negative to post on this thread, I'm just feeling a little raw at the moment. Once AF is actually here (and I am officially pg again!) I'm sure I'll regain my usual cheerfulness!

Good luck to all the testers tomorrow! I think this thread is overdue some good news, so fingers crossed for you all!!!

Biscuitsandtea · 24/07/2011 21:46

Scream firstly have a medicinal hug and an even more medicinal bucket of Wine. The whole ttc thing is a ridiculous roller coaster - I don't even think there is anything I can say to make it any better but I feel your pain.

However, like Generic you can get your chance to kick the evil witch to the kerb and give her a piece of your mind. We also still have the good cop / bad cop routine for the pee sticks so we should have everyone on our side going forward.

Hope that AF pulls her finger out and lets you have an answer one way or another.

I have been having cramps on and off for days but still the other previously mentioned symptoms so could still go either way. I am (ignore this example of non-brooking) terrified of getting my hopes up - I can't believe that we really have a chance after 19 months and I am frightened of how disappointed I would be if I'm wrong again Sad.

Still it is a bit like exam results I guess - kind of out of my hands now just the waiting to be done.

But thank you ladies for keeping me sane along the way Smile

xx

Biscuitsandtea · 24/07/2011 22:02

Also Have, thanks for the pg test advice. Maybe the false positives are just as you said (sorry to hear about you experience there too Sad). It was just that I've never heard it so much about normal Internet cheapies, just these specific duo fertility ones, but then surely they are just the sane Internet cheapie ones you buy off eBay / amazon.

What about first response? How are they? And if I went CBD (whispers nervously) and got a BFP it would be pretty reliable?

Hmmm, anyone spot any overthinking going on? Hmm

TinFairy · 24/07/2011 22:16

Awhhh...sorry for those that are defintely out of the running this month. But chin up, ladies...this is your month and you will BROOK NO BLOODY ARGUMENT. Maintain that pee cup half full attitude! And relish AF's last visit for 9 months.

I'm still in the game...for now although try telling that to this morning's pessimistic First Response

Today's imaginery symptoms (part 3657)
Queasiness
Bloating
Dizziness
Prominent veins (wrists & hands, not boobs, but I'm sure they must be indicative of something)

Am also trying a new tactic - goading AF by stocking up on Tampax which will obviously now join the CBFM in the drawer marked 'pointless expenditure' as I am already clearly so updiffed that it can only be twins. Or triplets. Oh god, I hope it's not triplets...I only have 2 names picked out.

Biscuitsandtea · 24/07/2011 22:21

Yay Tin - may I be the first to congratulate you on your as yet unconfirmed pregnancy.

Fear not, we'll help you pick out a third name for your little tintriplet.

Tintwin does have a better ring about it though....

TinFairy · 24/07/2011 22:39

Grin @ TinTwin

If it is triplets, no 3 will really have to be called Brook(e) Grin. Although Ramekin does have a certain je ne said quoi

Biscuits, get peeing on the cheapie. If it appears to concur with what we already know then progress to First Response. I hope your FR turns out to be less argumentative and bloody minded than mine! Fingers x'd for you.

TinFairy · 24/07/2011 22:42

Oh FFS!! sais, not said. My iPhone is obviously not a francophone.

Ha! See what I did there? Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2011 06:34
Imps7 · 25/07/2011 07:00

Oooo-errr Biscuits might you have found the pee stick for you at last???!! I wouldn't stop at 1,000,000 test purchases - get 2,000,000 just to make sure. I really really hope they all come back and confirm the Blindingly Obvious.

Sorry you had a down moment yesterday Scream - CD 1 is always a downer for me (it coincided with me going to see Take That this cycle and really took the shine off the evening - what an arse!) Hopefully you're feeling better today and are finding some rats to smack and e-mail/Fedex/DX/fax to AF.

CD 6 for me - still nothing more exciting than interesting coloured CM to report. I haven't been able to sleep for the past 3 nights, but I've indulged in a lot of wine over the weekend and that always affects my sleep. So much for not eating/drinking Things We Mustn't Eat or Drink during the 2ww!

BabySade · 25/07/2011 08:12

Morning everyone

Sorry to hear about AF Scream and Farfalla, I am glad at least you have an answer. Make sure your getting plenty of TLC so your ready to smack that rat good & proper.

Biscuits sounds promising, are you gonna hold out till tomorrow morning to test? I don't want to get your hopes up, but I have never seen a whisper of a line so I'm gking to keep my fingers crossed for you Smile

As for me still BFN, I'm 2 days later than my longest ever cycle. I'm starting to think I have a dodgy lot of pee sticks despite using several brands bought from different shops
Yesterday I goaded AF by drinking 3 glasses of wine and engaging in a bit of rat smacking Blush. The poor bitch probably doesn't know if she is coming or going!

scarletfingernail · 25/07/2011 09:17

OOOOOOHHHHH Biscuits sounds like you've got a winning pee stick there. Get yourself out sharpish for a First Response but I'm going to offer my congratulations now. You are most definitely pregnant!

Commiserations to those who received AF over the weekend Angry This will be your month for sure.

CD8 for me. Preparing myself for shagathon in a few days time. Trying to get to bed a bit earlier so that I'm not quite so knackered when it's time to get rat smacking.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 25/07/2011 09:23

Biscuits! that is so exciting! I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you, and I will be glued to this thread until you post your next results! This is DEFINITELY your month!!!

maybebabyR · 25/07/2011 09:30

Oh my goodness, I disappear for less than 24 hours, and we have a BFP!!!

Congratulations Biscuit Whoop whoop

So pleased for you! If you are unsure of the line, have a google, and it will show you where it's meant to be not that I have ever done this

Grin at Scarlet for a few early nights in preparation

Glad to hear AF is still staying away Baby You'll find an agreeable pee stick soon, I'm sure.

Imps you are 6 days pregnant already then, congratulations!

Sorry about AF Farfalla Make sure she gets the message loud and clear this month. She won't want to rear her ugly head again that way!

Grin at Tintwin

Well, no AF for me as of yet. No spotting either (as of yet) Am off sick, as have woken up with a throat so sore that I can hardly swallow and can't really speak. Managed somehow to get a GP appointment, so hoping they will fix it am already planning on which antibiotics to ask for so not to harm minimaybe

farfallarocks · 25/07/2011 09:40

Fingers crossed Biscuits!! Sounds very encouraging.

Scream/Imps - I also had total low moment yesterday and burst into tears. DH very sweet about it. He thinks its a Good Thing I am not preggers this month as he thinks my body needs to recover a bit. Perhaps he has a point.

On a positive note I had no spotting this month and AF seems to be a normal flow (having been extremely light after the pill) so perhaps my body is regulating itself a little better after yonks on the pill.

Anyone else testing this morning?

Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2011 09:56

Thank you ladies!!! I am so stressy!!! Maybe I googled it - good suggestion - and on reflection think my line looks a bit darker than some of the others on there - and probs in the right place too ish.

I can't believe this could finally be happening - eeeek. Reminds self not to get toooooooo excited!

Good luck to others testing and still in the game.

Maybe hope you are better soon. Good news on AF staying away soon. How would that be for irony if you get your BFP and then you can't even shout from the rooftops about it? When are you testing again? Also, I totally make sure I get baby safe meds for the whole time we've been ttc (sorry about the grammar then - I'm too scared to write ttc in proper past tense but it doesn't sound right in present tense either!)

Lots of love all round - I'm skipping off to sainsburys now Grin

maybebabyR · 25/07/2011 10:00

Thanks Biscuits I am pleased Dr Google came up with the goods!! And I take it that the Sainsburys trip is for a nice shiny first response? Grin So pleased it is finally happening for you Smile

Glad to hear your body is getting back to normality Farfalla DH is probably right, bless him. Hope she doesn't hang around for long so you can start brooking no argument again Smile

farfallarocks · 25/07/2011 10:02

Biscuits, please come and update us!

On a separate note - can anyone recommend a good reflexologist in South london?
