Thats made me feel a bit more optimistic cloclo, Thank you, im hoping my doctor will be really helpful, if i can ever get an appointment that is!!!!

latinolover10 · 12/07/2011 22:04

1sttime, i had the same problem recently. Although I had a much longer cycle of 18 weeks. Went to my gp after 11 weeks (a very sympathetic male, might I add, who referred me to gynae straight away) awaiting test results at the end of the month. Its now been 5 weeks since my last period, however feeling very premenstrual this week (boobs feel like balls of steel!!). At this stage ttc is almost taking a back seat until I get to the root of the problem. Keep us posted.

1sttimetryer · 12/07/2011 23:06

latino thank you for sharing that with me, i hope i speak to a doctor like yours who is willing to take steps to find out whats wrong. Please keep me updated with your results and i hope the news is good. Im hoping to see the doctor tomorrow and will post on here afterwards to let you know how i get on. Sound like either your ovulating or af is on its way, i used to get really sore boobs when i was on the pill. Good luck

KikiRC · 13/07/2011 08:51

Hello all,

I've a query that it sounds a couple of you may be able to advise on.

This is my first cycle off the pill (Dianette.) I didn't know what to expect, and didn't chart temps, but it really seemed like I might have Od around CD 13/14- the EWCM was v distinct & I only had it then + sharp cramps. I'm now around CD 33 (and 20dpo if I did O then) but a BFN (2 days ago) and no AF, though the past 3-4 days it's felt like it'll come any minute + CP is low, soft & open.

I know it's really common to get late and irregular periods when you come off the pill, but what's confusing me is that as it did seem to mimic a normal cycle, where does that leave me now? Will I have to go through the whole cycle all over again, before I potentially O & get BFP/ AF?

I know it's impossible to answer, really- but I'm just finding it very frustrating- it's turned into a three week wait, and could last weeks or even months, I suppose.

X

1sttimetryer · 13/07/2011 09:36

Think it might just be a waiting game im afraid. I had to wait 42 days for mine, felt like i was going to come on for about 3 weeks or so before i actually did. Sorry that i cant be much help. See if anyone else can help you more than i can.good luck

KikiRC · 13/07/2011 09:52

Thanks firsttime. Did you get signs of possible O at all during that time? And if so was it just once? I'm guessing that as I seem to produce EWCM alright, that I should be able to guess when I might O? But maybe not!

Good luck to you! X

1sttimetryer · 13/07/2011 10:41

For the first month i did but havent had anything since. Which is why im off to the doctor later on today. Think i might have problems, so you probably cant compare yourself to be. I also got loads of pregnancy symptoms but apparently that can happen when you come off the pill. Did you have normal cycles before going on the pill?

1sttimetryer · 13/07/2011 10:43

*to me

KikiRC · 13/07/2011 11:42

Good luck for today firsttime

I've been on the pill this time around for about 3 years- before that I had a 'gap' of about a year, having taken Microgynon for ten years previously.

In the 'gap' 4 years ago, my periods seemed normal- though I had an enormously heavy bleed for the very first one. Of course I wasn't charting or TTC then, so I can't really remember when I got my first period- it wasn't on my mind so much at the time. But I seem to remember they were pretty regular. But that was coming off a different pill- my most recent was Dianette, which I think is a bit stronger/ more likely to upset things (I was on it to control acne as well as birth control.) I'm 33 now.

I've had almost every pregnancy symptom in the book this cycle! And things that I've never experienced in my life- amazingly sore boobs/ terrible metallic taste etc. But a BFN at 18dpo. I think they're probably side effects from coming off the pill rather than PG. Did you keep re-testing when waiting for AF? I won't all the time, 'cos it will drive me crazy, but maybe using cheapies once a week.

Hope it all goes well. FX.
X

1sttimetryer · 13/07/2011 12:32

Thank you kiki
the first month i tested loads! I thought i would have a 'normal' cycle! Think you will probably just have to wait and eventually you will get af or bfp!
Getting really worried about going doctor thinking they wont take me seriously, but just had a msg from my hubbie saying he will come with me as he will have finished work by then :) feel slightly better now :)

Readynow · 13/07/2011 12:42

I haven't posted on this thread for a while, although I have been lurking!!
How soon has anyone gone to the GP after no luck ttc? I am currently on my fifth cycle of trying & I am pretty sure I ovulate every month as I have a smiley face on my OPKs & have a definite temp rise for 13/14 days each cycle. My UCL ranges from 25- 28 days each month. I am 34 & really starting to worry that there may be a problem although in my more rational moments I realise these things take time! Confused

KikiRC · 13/07/2011 15:19

In my experience of anything medical firsttime you do sometimes have to be quite confident and without being 'pushy', be quite insistent about what you want, otherwise you're easily fobbed off.

Sorry, I'm in a bit of shock- I just POAS (a cheapie) and got a faint line. Don't quite believe it. It obviously wasn't a first-morning pee, so wasn't as concentrated as it could be. It's also a Poundland 2 for £1 one- so I don't know how accurate they are. I took a phone call just after I did the test and came back a few minutes later not expecting to see anything, and there it was. Faint, but a definite line.

Blimey. I'll re-test in the morning with a better quality test.

1sttimetryer · 13/07/2011 16:40

Wow, congrats to you. Thats brilliant news :)
The doctor was lovely, told me that if i still have problems in 2 months to come back and she will test my blood for anything and everything, but she hopes to see me before then announcing my pregnancy, i hope so too. Got to try to relax more and not stress (way easier said than done!!)

KikiRC · 13/07/2011 16:58

Oh, well that sounds positive! firsttime .Glad you saw someone nice.

I re-tested on a First Response- and again a faint but definite line. God, I really don't believe it. Now I'm worrying about all the things I should or shouldn't have done the last few weeks.

Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong. Really hope you have good news soon. It suddenly feels very insensitive to post a BFP when it's what so many people are hoping for.

X

1sttimetryer · 13/07/2011 17:33

Dont worry about that, everyone will be happy for you :)
I was really pleased the doctor was really nice, made me feel a lot better about things! x

FloydieDoydie · 13/07/2011 18:18

Congrats Kiki and glad you had some reassurance first :)

So, saw the Doctor today myself about starting TTC and my history of polycystic ovaries.

Doc thinks there is no need to worry yet at all - he says if I'm not pregnant by the end of the year to go back. Said not to let myself be stressed out as that won't help. If I am having problems they will do blood tests etc,. But for now just relax. So, saw the Doctor today about starting TTC an my history of polycystic ovaries. So I'm pleased he hasn't immediately thought the cysts would be cause for concern. He thinks the cramping pain is just my body getting used to it again and the pill coming out of my system.

CaveMum · 13/07/2011 19:14

Good news from the Dr Floydie. I had a similar conversation with a reflexologist last year - she was very anti peeing on OV sticks, etc as she said it puts women under too much pressure.

Well on my front I am feeling a bit better today, but still woozy and sleepy - I slept off and on till midday today Blush
I have also broken out in the most horrendous case of spots this morning. I normally have very oily skin and plenty of spots (good ol' PCOS) but this morning I look like a pizza! I have dozens of little white heads all across my nose, cheeks and chin (sorry if TMI!). I'm hoping it is a side effect of the general anaesthetic, but I look revolting!
I have also decided not to go back to work this week. My boss was very good when I told him about the op a few weeks ago and said to take as much time as I needed, but I am still so tired that I can't face going into work tomorrow, and don't see the point in going in for one day on Friday!

I had an interesting conversation with my mum last night. she told me that it took her and my dad 18 months to conceive me (I'm the oldest) and that she had to take some medication, though she can't remember what it was. So it sounds like my PCOS may well be hereditary, though mum was never diagnosed with a specific problem.

Thanks floydie, glad you got on well at the doctors, its reasurring when you hear it from them isnt it, hope it all goes well for you.

Glad your feeling a bit better cave, when ive had operations i always am shattered a couple of days later. sorry to hear about your spots, not what you need, although its good you can stay in and hide away!! Hopefully your skin will clear soon!
Sounds promising for you if your mum still managed to conceive, sounds like she could actually have it without being diagnosed, hopefully in time you will too :)
good luck :)

TomboyWife · 14/07/2011 20:24

Evening ladies, and sorry to have been a bit AWOL in recent days.

Kiki congrats! On your first cycle too, you lucky so-and-so! Grin

Josie that sounds awful about work. I hope a bit of time away from the office will help you relax and feel better.

Ready 5 cycles of trying is really not that many, though I completely understand the worry about time marching on. I was 35 when we started trying, went to the GP after about 8 months of no luck, and got referred for basic tests but also told that 8 months wasn't hugely long.

TigerseyeMum · 14/07/2011 22:07

Hellooooooooo.

I have started charting and my temp is still low, though normally I have assumed I have ovulated by now. So maybe we have been giving up too quickly. As my temp is still low we will keep 'at it' so to speak cos you never know...

I am also quite bloated, which must be A Sign (though could also be A Sign of too much lasagne).

Hope everyone is OK, work has been so busy I have not been on all week.

1sttimetryer · 15/07/2011 06:56

Hi tigerseye
I have also been charting this month and my temperature is still low too, i have long cycles and im on about day 38 i think, but cycles are around 42-48 so i would have thought i should have ov'd by now. do we assume we havent ovulated yet?
Hope your well

AllChange2011 · 15/07/2011 08:37

Morning all.

Congrats to all those with BFP :)

I'm only on cycle 1 and started SWI pretty much as soon as poss after AF but developed a mild thrushy itch after about a week so that's pretty much thwarted our plans this month! According to the calendars we should've managed enough action during fertile times but I didn't have usual ovulation signs so am worried that we've missed it!

Anyway not to worry like I said only cycle 1 although we don't really want to get lucky next month as my DH desperately doesn't want a Taurus baby - extra pressure!!!

Good luck all!

Readynow · 15/07/2011 08:39

Thanks Tomboy! We'll keep trying for a few more cycles & try not to worry!

Thanks 1st, I have had no ovulation signs at all this month, though I am still Mrs Windy Miller, which may or may not be a sign. I tend to have 32 day cycles, so should be popping an egg out any time now I would have thought.

Well, we shall keep our fingers crossed :)
