Haha! Oh, marathon you do make me laugh! My nan used to say 'beserk' and as I loved her dearly, it's a lovely reminder, thanks Smile.

You and your flipping afternoon peeing on sticks!

Bear in mind that the indicator may not actually move up yet, as the range of 'normal' hcg is quite wide and so it's feasible you'd get the 1-2 weeks result for about a week after af was due. Did you get your bfp with the digi in the morning or afternoon? In any case, lets look at the facts:

You've previously tested negative on a boots cheapy in the afternoon. You now have a boots cheapy bfp in the morning... so the next defnitive bfp would be a boots cheapy in the afternoon, no? Gotta be cheaper than another set of digi's (which you will only then use some rationale to explain the result away anyway, I'm sure!)

Also, am I right in remembering that you thought you didn't have much of a shot this month because of timing? When did you and DH do the deed that may have done THE deed, as it were? And when if af due? Today?

InsomniaQueen · 09/07/2011 18:32

Manda I wholeheartedly agree with you - I love my life and don't see any reason to look at what other people are doing or have because all I can influence is what I do and what happens in my life by doing the right things and taking care of the people around me. And yes I would love you slap BIL....bless you for being kind!!

Marathon thanks for the hugs and medicine!!! Glossy he'll woman you are keeping these people in business at the moment......I shall have to keep waiting and hold onto my congratulations until your sure even though everyone else is but I won't lie I'm currently doing my victory dance!!!

As for Manda and her interrogation I think you missed a calling with MI5.....he he he xxx

InsomniaQueen · 10/07/2011 00:37

Damn this predictive typing - that was meant to be "bloody he'll woman" ggrrrr!!!

Summerbird73 · 10/07/2011 12:30

marathon for the love of god woman we are on tenterhooks here!!!!!

MarathonMama · 10/07/2011 19:11

Hello ladies, I'm just about still alive after the outlaws visit Confused

I POAS on a Boots cheapie this arvo and.... drum roll please.... it was a faint but definitely there BFP! Wish I could feel more excited but am actually pretty down really. I feel like it's inevitable that it'll all go wrong and my bodies not yet ready for another pregnancy. Not helped when I told DH and he seemed totally unimpressed Sad

To answer your interrogation Manda (you scare me a bit). AF was due yesterday, DH and I dtd on CDs 10, 12 and 16 and I got a positive OPK on CD 14. I think we were lucky (although DH would say it was "SUPERSPERM" to the rescue, obviously). Hmm

I'm all over the place now...

ShimmeryPixie · 10/07/2011 20:07

Yay for the faint (but still there) BFP MarathonMama. I'm sorry you feel down, but all things considered that's understandable.

Now - because I can't resist: [hsmile]. Loving the supersperm...when I got my BFP before my DH told me it was because he'd given all his nightvision goggles. Apparently drawing spectacles and moustaches on them hadn't helped in previous months, so he'd upped his game!

Summerbird73 · 10/07/2011 21:17

marathon that is wonderful congratulations!!! dont worry about yours and DH's (yes that is DH Grin ) reactions, my cousin who had a MC warned me that we may feel down and a bit teary when we get our next BFP. It will all be fine - honestly

yay!

PieMistress · 10/07/2011 21:54

Awwwww marathon that is sooo fantastic! Whoop for faint but there BFP - a line is a line!! Grin Grin Grin

I can understand the emotions - I think having a m/c takes some of the innocence out of having a worry free pregnancy (IYKWIM).

I read on one of the other threads (updiffed after m/c) that it helps to say "today I am pregnant" and take each day at a time. I am so delighted for you and your DH and I hope you can get some early scans to put your mind at rest xxx

InsomniaQueen · 10/07/2011 22:49

First things first - I'm doing a full victory dance for marathon - I totally understand that you are stressing about it. But agree with pie today you are pregnant and so therefore one step ahead of the rest of us. Now you need to concentrate on looking after yourself - hopefully this is the beginning of something wonderful and we will be with you every step of the way!!!

Well today was not as hellish as expected......BIL kept his hideous thoughts to himself (thankfully)....their children were really naughty but nothing new there!! My other SIL (who I adore) is pg and now 30 weeks, looking wonderful and full of baby. today as with any family event was filled with "when are you going to start a family".....summer I feel your pain!!!

Big hugs and lots of positive wonderful thoughts to Marathon and all you lovely ladies!!! Xxx

InsomniaQueen · 10/07/2011 23:06

Another ex workmate has just announced her pregnancy with a 12 week scan on Facebook.......god I hate these people!!!!! Angry!!!!!

whatsoever · 11/07/2011 09:15

Congrats marathon! Fantastic news.

Insomnia glad BIL was better than expected. Am also thinking if I am ever lucky enough to get pregnant again I will definitely not be posting scan photos on facebook. Every one I have seen since the MMC has been like a stab in the heart and then I feel awful not to feel joy for that person.

Summerbird73 · 11/07/2011 09:24

marathon here is to another pregnant day - yippeeee Smile

IQ hanging my head in shame to say that both DH and i did that when i got pg with DS - the scan pic was everywhere. 'Next time' on the other hand will be a completely different story. I spoke to DH about blue's story at work and how we can just not know what is going on around us. Sad for you IQ

On another note IQ, i was thinking this morning (whilst straightening my hair Hmm ) about your post about your culture and how you choose names. I thought it was unusual but lovely. Then i really thought about it and realised that DS's middle name was chosen by SMIL! She mentioned the name Henry to us once when i was PG and we had been struggling to find a name to go with the boy's first name and it was perfect. I said to her that we would go with that if that was ok with her and she was delighted. So your BIL can STFU as without realising we probably all do that in some way or another. Also SMIL is loving the fact that DS has a middle name suggested by her.

Also, I was very very close to my grandad who has recently passed away Sad (still cant say that without a lump in my throat!) and nothing could have made us closer but if i had known that he had chosen my name (i dont think he did) i would have been over the moon!

Happy Monday everyone Smile

InsomniaQueen · 11/07/2011 09:56

Ladies I need some serious calming thoughts right now - after making my devils bargain with the hubby about the holiday we agreed to wait a week after AF late to test....managed (after some convincing) to compromise for 3 and half days......this morning was 3 and half days late - have taken the plunge and......have just done an Internet cheap - not with FMU but possibly 2nd and have had two lines.....it isn't as strong as the control but it isn't one of those 'blink and it's gone lines' - currently shaking, legs came out right from underneath me and im currently sat on the end of the bed with my knees knocking together sooooo much my laptop looks in danger of falling to the ground and feeling like I'm going to be sick - not pg sick but scared out of my wits sick!!!,

This is all far too much to take in right now and feel in a bit of a tail spin - if I ever needed a drink more I couldn't tell you when!!! I can't tell hubby - I feel like I need to be sure myself and an Internet cheapy at this stage of my cycle could be a mistake....right???This could very easily be a false positive.....couldn't it???

Summerbird73 · 11/07/2011 10:03

insomnia for the sweet love of god and all that is holy woman THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FALSE POSITIVE

Get yourself out and get a digital, i cant stress this enough, i did 3 ICs with DS and none of them were conclusive, the digital was spot on.

none of this is relevant though because you are PREGNANT! Congratulations IQ that is wonderful. Smile

Two BFP's in a week! Grin Well with all the AF's rolling in last week i am looking forward to 3 weeks time.

Get back to us asap!!!

InsomniaQueen · 11/07/2011 10:11

Oh summer I feel insane.....this can't possibly be right!!! I'm sat here looking at it trying to convince myself that I'm imagining all this - I look over at it and think "come on that line is going to disappear....this isn't real and I'm having some sort of delusion.....obviously mentalling about being pregnant has finally taken hold and I have 100% lost it!!!"

Additionally I feel like I'm going to get that test and then find out that I'm not and that will be another huge blow but then what if I get it and it says pg.......OMG!!! marathon I'm taking some time to go and sit in a padded cell, please feel free to join me!!!!

Just text hubby a picture of my "double lines" and am awaiting a reply (he is currently on a course all day so don't expect anything until lunch) - had to pull myself together and realise that telling him isn't going to 'jinx it' - can't believe this is happening!!!

MandaHugNKiss · 11/07/2011 10:25
Grin

Couldn't be bloody happier for you IQ Grin

With DS2&3 I got my first positives with ic's... DS3 at 10dpo. I just 'confirmed' with FRER/digi. So with you already being late, there's no reason not to trust the lines! Incidently, in my experience of testing every day after bfp for about two weeks the IC's don't get dark for quite some time. Even a week after af due they were faint (but FRER were blaring positives with the test line darker than the control).

Yeeeeehaw!

Now I await the arrival of my mum

Summerbird73 · 11/07/2011 10:56

you know what? i am so bloody happy for marathon and IQ and i dont even 'know' you! yet i want to seethe every time i see my preggy friend from ante natal! Hmm

forgot to say, we went to see our good friends yesterday who have a 3 week old baby boy. i cuddled him and bottle fed him it was amazing. when there was just me and DH and the baby i looked at DH and said - 'right we are having sex every night this week and no arguments' he thought it was hilarious!!

but it was wonderful to hold a baby again, our friends are so lovely and understanding, the hubby was saying to me 'it wont be long and you will be doing that again' and i said 'well here's hoping' and he said 'you will, honestly summerbird you will be absolutely fine' i love some of my friends! Smile

Summerbird73 · 11/07/2011 10:57

manda here have a Brew and a chocolate Biscuit for some 'pre mother visit' sustinence! (sp?) Grin

PieMistress · 11/07/2011 11:11

IQ blinking fantastic!!!! I agree go and get a FRER or Digital !!! I use ICs and then back them up with 'proper' tests just so I can double double believe it! It can't be a false positive if you're AF is 3 days LATE!! Whoop Whoop! A line is a line, is a line! I'm going to celebrate with a few sherbet fruits :)

summer your post brought a few tears to my eyes (saying how lovely your friends are) and I laughed when you said you are DTD every night this week! I'm not supposed to ovulate for another 10 days yet (good job as DP is off work sick and definitely not up to the job!).

Ditto about being so happy for IQ and marathon, it's cheered me up no end! Fingers crossed we all get there over the next few weeks, and can be Easter bump buddies together (PMA, PMA, PMA!!!!)

InsomniaQueen · 11/07/2011 11:45

Ok.......hold your screams - have taken a digi and......BFP - 1 to 2 weeks!!!

Currently having a little cry in my room......so overwhelming!!

whatsoever · 11/07/2011 12:25

IQ massive congratulations! So pleased for you Smile

summerbird that made me chuckle!

Finally got back on the SWI schedule last night after many set backs (12 day AF, 2 business trips away (DH), one upset stomach (me)). It was day 15 and I think I ovulate a bit late so still worthwhile as my cycle pre-MMC was often a different number of days from 23 - 32 each month so who knows? Have a friend to stay tonight and DH in London on Thursday night so all other nights this week shall be go go go.

Summerbird73 · 11/07/2011 12:45

excellent news IQ Grin

PieMistress · 11/07/2011 12:54

IQ , and another whoop whoop!

I have used all of my IC and not bought any more! I have one CB test in the cupboard that I will only use if when I get to 14dpo (PMA, PMA!). I'm so bad at testing too early so decided that if there aren't any tests in the house then I can't do it!

summer was it you that was talking about preseed/concieve plus?

Summerbird73 · 11/07/2011 13:08

indeed pie twas me. i need to go to boots this week to look for this conceive plus, actually i could do with going tonight Wink we have one thing of preseed left so do i use it tonight and then get the conceive plus for the rest of the week (i cant use 'no' lube as it hurts Blush ) so cant use the durex stuff as apparantly that wards away the swimmers!

what to do what to do....

MarathonMama · 11/07/2011 14:05

removes head from sand and knocks on IQ's padded cell door

O....M....G... IQ! Blinkin' Nora a BFP! You kept that one quiet woman. Congratulations!

Will definitely join you in the padded cell, am convinced today that I've had some AF cramps so trying to keep my head down and not think about it all too much.

When are you due?

Bugger bugger bugger, hot lunch cooked and DD just woken, better go.

Hello to Summer, Manda, Pie, Whatso and everyone else. Will be back later to catch up properly...
