Hi!

I was posting on this thread for a while earlier in June and then went on holiday with some friends (she had had a m/c very recently too) and am just catching up with everything now! The holiday was really great, we had lots of good chats and drank lots and lots of lovely wine and hugged and said how utterly utterly crap and horrible m/c are :( My DS (18 months) and her DD are 10 weeks apart in age and our second babies would have been 6 weeks apart had the horrible m/c not happened :(

Anyway!! Moving onwards and upwards! I finally got a BFN after 5.5weeks and AF arrived today after a couple of days of light spotting (and 8 weeks since the m/c!). I charted last month and am pretty sure I ovulated (temp rise, +OPK) but BFN - boooo :( Am back on the multi-vits and no caffeine (after tormenting myself that my daily coffee might have caused the m/c, although v.unlikely I might as well wean myself off it).

So looks like a lot of us have AF at the same time so fingers crossed the start of August brings us all nice happy BFP! I'll be 40 next year so am trying not to panick at my elderly age but take a chilled out approach

Sorry for the lack of name checking, i'm just away to read through the posts i've missed in the last few weeks. Hope everybody is well and lets bring on the bodys getting back to normal, SWI and two lines on a stick!

Pie xx

Poppyjen · 06/07/2011 07:39

Hi ladies

Well AF arrived last night after spotting all day (and me telling myself "it might be late implantation......" but not really believing it) so CD2 here today. That gives a LP of 11 days, seems pretty short - could this just be a strange one as its first cycle post mc?

Good news is that cycle is down to 38 days from 55 which it had been prior to mc which seems a bit more manageable Smile

Hope you are all ok, hoping for some good news from someone soon! (Well all of us actually Grin !)

Summerbird73 · 06/07/2011 09:50

marathon get a Clearblue Digital - bit pricey but worth it for the confirmation!

just jumping on quickly so sorry for not name checking but i agree with manda that it is a nice coincidence that we are all on AF at roughly the same time, that means that we can all hold hands together during the 2WW and statistically we should have at least 1 BFP! - not counting marathonmamas Grin

feeling a bit more positive today - DH has agreed that i can reduce my working hours to 4 days a week if work will agree to it - means i get an extra day with DS which i have missed so much since coming back to work Smile

MarathonMama · 06/07/2011 11:34

Well Summee I took your advice, CB test this morning - BFP - 1-2 weeks. Eeek! I think they're quite sensitive too though? I don't think I'll be comfortable until I've tested with a Boots cheapie again at the weekend (they only work from the day of your missed AF). Not feeling excited at all, feel like it's bound to fail again, there's not a symptom in sight (apart from wooziness the other night Manda). I haven't told DH, I feel like I want to deal with it alone until I'm sure of it (apart from telling you lovely ladies of course).

I'm hoping it's real but trying really hard not to hope at the same time, IYKWIM.

Sorry to those being chased by that nasty witch, especially MissG, talk about timing! I bet she's cackling away, at least you can enjoy lots of some Wine on holiday.

Talking of which, I've got a big girls night out on Fri. Not sure how I'm going to manage to hide not drinking, especially as they all know about the mmc so are just waiting for me to show signs of being pg again.

Manda rather than a short LP, could you have had a very very early mc? Have you had a "normal" LP since your mc?

Summer sounds nice that you get more time with your DS. They're so lovely when they're little and my DH tells me it gets better and better as they get older. Is that true MissG and Manda?

Have a fab hol MissG! waves to Poppy, Summer, Manda, IQ, Pie and anyone I've missed Grin

Off to bury my head in the sand until the weekend...

Summerbird73 · 06/07/2011 11:57

right then marathonmama

the display on the CB digital denotes the strength of the HCG, so 1-2 weeks could either mean that (a)your HCG is dropping following the MMC meaning that you would go from 3-4 weeks (say last week for arguments sake) to 1-2 weeks this week then 'Not Pregnant' next week IYSWIM. Hmm

on a much more exciting positive note it could mean that (b)you are pregnant again and ov'd 1-2 weeks ago and would get a 3-4 weeks display next week!

you are much more measured than me sensible to hang onto the excitement until you know for sure at the weekend. If you do a test at the weekend and get a 2-3 or 3-4 weeks display then you are deffo PG! Grin

Regarding Friday, you could always say that you are on a health kick following the MMC (sorry to trivialise it but YSWIM?) or that you have an infection following the MMC and need to take antibiotics? that'll shush them!

Summerbird73 · 06/07/2011 11:58

sorry i just read that back and i sound like i am teaching my granny to make a pie! just soooooo excited for you! Grin

BlueCrane · 06/07/2011 12:48

Afternoon all! missg probably missed you now but hope you have a fantastic holiday despite AF! Enjoy plenty of Wine

Oooh marathon Grin really hope it's good news for you!! Am impressed at your patience...the waiting is a killer!

poppy sorry to hear about AF Sad but great news about your UCL!

pie glad you had a good holiday and that AF has arrived so that you can start moving forward. There do seem a lot of us with AF at the moment...I'd quite like mine too now so that I know where I'm up too! But only got a proper BFN yesterday...nearly 4 weeks after ERPC so not holding out too much hope for AF anytime soon!

DH and I have just started a bit of a health kick/diet to lose some pounds before the TTC recommences! Managed my salsacise DVD again this morning before work and DH has been for a run. Would be nice to feel a bit slimmer again before a bfp but not putting ttc on hold for the diet as I'm not wasting the potentially more fertile months after MC for that!

MarathonMama · 06/07/2011 16:15

Awww Summer you're a sweetie, thanks for the advice. I caved and POAS the Boots cheapie and it was BFN so need to buy another for the weekend. I have one CB left now so need to stop POAS before I broke us!

I like the idea about the antibiotics following the ERPC, they won't query that for sure. Now I've just got to work out my excuse for not eating steak when I recommended we all go to a great steak restaurant Hmm They know I like my steak practically alive.

Blue know what you mean about getting healthier. I don't know about you but I put on half a stone with my last pregnancy (the mmc) and haven't lost any of it. I'm already struggling to fit into my old jeans Blush. I have a suspicion that my mc was due to overdoing in the gym though so need to go gently with exercise if this BFP is real.

BlueCrane · 06/07/2011 16:57

marathon I also put on half a stone with the pregnancy ending in mmc and then a bit more with the comfort eating afterwards Blush and I was heavier than I wanted to be before my bfp so all in I could really do to lose over a stone now which is a bit of a pain really but I have to do something as nothing fits and I refuse to go and buy new clothes only to (hopefully) need mat stuff soon - here's hoping!! So, exercise and careful eating it is!! Hang in there with the testing, must seem like forever until the weekend but worth waiting so that you know for sure!

eve34 · 06/07/2011 18:29

Evening all

MM - I have everything crossed for you. Really hope you are the first of a long line of BFP

Hope everyone else is keeping ok. DP has gone off to Germany at 4.30 this morning :-(

Think I may have an infection after ERPC last week, feeling really uncomfortable. Phoned GP who told me to go to GUM clinic for tests! Like I really want to sit in there and wait all morning for tests!!!! grr So will phone the hospital in the morning.

Very fed up now. Maybe DS is my lot :-(

PieMistress · 06/07/2011 19:40

Hi Peeps,

eve sorry to hear about your possible infection. I was given a course of antibiotics because I had some 'retained product' that was too small for an ERPC. Hope it goes okay. Please don't give up, I know how you feel - I am stressing big time about my age (40 next year) and it's starting to get me down. Must Be More Upbeat!!!! How old is your DS?

MM how strange that a CB was positive but a Boots test was negative - did you use FMU?! Did you get a BFN after your MMC? I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you have one happy joyous proper BFP !!

blue I could also do with losing a few pounds but I'm taking comfort in eating at the moment which is probably not good! Good news on the BFN at last, it feels like forever doesn't it! My AF came about 2.5 weeks after my BFN and i'm pretty sure I ovulated inbetween.

poppy I don't think an 11 day LP is anything to worry too much over? I have a 10/11 day lp (sometimes 9) and conceived DS and again (although sadly m/c) so not sure if that was anything to go by. Have read B6 can help lengthen a short LP but I think 11 days is okay?

summer a 4 day week sounds delish! How old is your DS? I'm working fulltime which I find very hard but we really need the cash, however, having a m/c had make me reasses a few things, one of which is my working hours.

So i'm on CD2 today! Usually ovulated around CD17/18 which feels a long way away! Two good friends announced their pregnancies this week meaning their bubs are due a month after our baby would have been, sob. It's been a difficult few days and i've been crying again :(

Hi to everybody else i've missed!! The horrible heavy rain of today has stopped and now it's blue skies outside! DH has gone climbing so i'm going to kick back at watch some low maintenance TV!

xx

InsomniaQueen · 06/07/2011 21:12

Marathon OMG!!!! Ok not getting over excited ridiculously excited ....keeping my everything crossed for you - really want some good news to perk me up!!!

pie welcome back and glad that you now have your bfn....all your choices (vits and no coffee) sound great!!! Def also hoping for lots of August BFP's!!

poppy (keeping my positive head on) - at least the cycle has come down - hopefully everything is moving in the right direction now!!

summer - 4 day week.....so jealous....really want to do that but currently saving for a house deposit and need the money - always about the money!!! Also good advise for marathon - you always need a good reason not to drink on girls night!!

blue well done on your health kick - hopefully this will give you both plenty of stamina for all the SWI - when the time comes!!

eve sorry to hear that you are still unwell.I will be thinking of you and wishing you lots of positive and relaxed time over the next few weeks!!

Not much happening here - still feel unwell, still can't sleep and still metalling about possible pg....no ideas on where I am with things but I suppose in the next week I will know either way (hopefully)!!!

(this is also something I wish really existed along with fish and chips that make you slimmer)

ShimmeryPixie · 07/07/2011 09:03

eve I hope the hospital are more helpful today.

mm I'm sending you positive vibes.

pie sorry you have been feeling :( I know what you mean - I feel OK most of the time and then it hits me.

BlueCrane · 07/07/2011 09:58

Morning all!

On a Smile note I've lost 2.5lb since Monday which I'm v pleased about...but on a Sad and slightly Envy note another 2 friends announced their pregnancies yesterday! I'm now getting surrounded at work...my secretary is 9 weeks and the wives of both guys opposite me are 11 and 13 weeks and one of the girls downstairs is 14 weeks! grrr! Trying to stay positive but it's hard at times...know exactly how you're feeling pie

eve really sorry you're still not well - hope the hospital are helpful today!

mm how are you feeling today? Hang in there!

IQ hope you get some answers soon!

Right...back to work...lots to do today! Catch up later

Summerbird73 · 07/07/2011 11:55

marathon boots cheapies are the work of the devil; and as you say they are nowhere near as sensitive as the CBs so yes wait until the weekend and hopefully celebrate with a (caffeine free) Brew and Biscuit

eve I am so sorry ? I now feel like I was really trivialising (and tempting fate) when I suggested marathon say she had a UTI following the MMC (as a cover up for her BFP). Really really sorry! I know how miserable a UTI is Blush

pie my DS has just turned 2 and is a delight Smile we felt the same as you, we really need the cash however the MC has really made me re-evaluate my time with DS, I just miss him so much (and he is shattered by Friday) Sad I am 39 next year and so feeling like you too ? I don?t want to be a 60 year old mother of teenagers Confused

However my Head of Section has today given her verbal approval for my request Grin so I just need to jump through hoops with HR to get it sorted asap. I miss my coffee mornings with my mummy friends too!

Oh crikey blue I know how you feel, two of my good friends are expecting in September and November respectively (I should have been October). You really have it surrounded haven?t you Sad no advice other than to feel perfectly entitled to be Envy

Yep I am on a health kick too ? I am celebrating as I managed to fit into a pre MC dress today which has been tight for ages. I joined Slimming World a couple of weeks ago and am 4.5lb lighter Grin

MarathonMama · 07/07/2011 13:10

Hi all, thanks for all the positive vibes, I'm sucking them in as we speak [sucking in emoticon]

Pie I didn't use FMU for the Boots test but I did for the others. I got a BFN two weeks after my ERPC using a Boots test which is why I want to get a BFP with a Boots test too.

Blue I'm good today, really busy day so am happily distracted. Got my in-laws coming later Hmm so that's more to distract me by banging my head against the nearest brick wall

IQ really hope it's a BFP next week! If we are pg we can mental like mad together.

Summer my DD is nearly 2. It's such a sweet age, they're trying so hard to speak properly and are so earnest. I love it! Boots cheapies are the work of evil and will happily eat one of your lovely Biscuit to console myself.

Know what everyone means about everyone expecting, my whole NCT group are pg (with two exceptions) and one of them is due around when I would have been. Im very Envy and have deleted her from facebook. It sounds petty but she's so excited she keeps posting scan pictures, name updates and info about mw appointments and I couldn't face seeing it anymore.

Right, now for the lecture, for anyone worrying about getting pg, we all managed it last time and will do again, PMA! IT WILL HAPPEN Grin

PieMistress · 07/07/2011 13:14

Hi Peeps,

insomnia I can sympathise about the sleep! I am exhausted most days as DH is a really restless sleeper and keeps waking me up in the night! Boo! Fingers crossed we get some good news from you!

marathon any news!!

summer my DS is just over 18 months. That's fantastic news about being given the verbal from your boss, what day will you drop? The only reason i've been sticking in at full time is so that we can have enough money to move to a bigger house.

blue knowing other people that are pregnant or just announced their news is like a knife in the heart isn't it. It's horrible that we have to experience such emotional pain. I just want to bury my head in the sand. I'm still shocked at how upset I got when my friend announced (on facebook!) that they are due in January.

Waves to shimmery and eve and anybody i've accidentally missed!

Is anybody else taking any conception or pregnancy multi-vits?

PieMistress · 07/07/2011 13:16

(sorry marathon crossed posts!) My NCT group have conversations like "okay I bet so and so will be pregnant first" like it's some kind of game or bet. It really winds me up. There have been no announcements from any of them yet but am expecting some soon as there have been a few alcohol avoiders at our monthly nights out!

eve34 · 07/07/2011 13:19

Afternoon all

MM - hope all is well and you get BFP on all your Pg test.

Pie thank you for the kind thoughts DS is 4 - 5 in September. I will be 40 next year too - maybe we should throw a party for us all??

Blue - well done on the 2.5lb. keep up the good work

Summer - honestly don't worry :-) good luck with the reduced hours. I was lucky to only work 3 days til Ds started pre school. I loved my 2 days in the week at home with him. Going to miss him so much when he starts school. Well done the 4.5lb.

Well I don't know what is going on with me! Was in a lot of pain last night so took the codine they gave me which really helped and I am a lot more comfortable today. I phoned the GUM clinic who did not know why I was calling them! but suggested I go anyway and talk to the doctor. So have to go and sit and wait tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone has something nice planned for the weekend. We have the out laws coming :-) and a BBQ planned - fingers crossed we get some nice weather.

MarathonMama · 07/07/2011 14:07

Hi Pie, not other news, just waiting for Sat to come round. No symptoms apart from being shattered but DD is teething so not getting enough sleep.

I take the Pregnacare conception vits. I'm such a bad eater and never seem to get my 5 a day (unless potatoes (as in Hula Hoops) count?) so figure I need to take something.

Eve you poor thing. Could you not just go to your GP? Hope everything is better soon.

Summerbird73 · 07/07/2011 14:24

is there a full moon or something? we all seem to have the inlaws descending at the weekend! mine phoned up last night and announced that they are visiting on Sat afternoon - great that means we have to run around like a blue arsed fly getting the house clean (S-MIL is a clean freak). Thats my weekend screwed!

pie i am going to drop Fridays, that is when my friends from Preg Yoga meet up so i can get back in the loop with them. Most of my ante natal friends are working full time but i have one or two other mummy friends i can meet up with also. v v excited Grin i too did 3 days a week when i returned from mat leave but had to go full time (to save for another baby Sad ) however when that all went tits up we decided to compromise and go for the four days. if we have another i will drop again to 3 days.

PieMistress · 07/07/2011 14:50

summer thankfully I don't have the in-laws coming - they live in South Africa and seeing them once a year is enough! Shock I just seem to get very wound up whenever they are around!

I'm the only one working FT out of my ante-natal group, the others all work 3 days so whenever I do meet up i'm very out of the loop!

marathon I've started taking the Zita West Vitafem vits (cheaper elsewhere than her v.expensive website). I'm not sure if they are needed and will prob swop to Pregnancare when i've finished this batch. I posted a thread on the Conception board about things people have done 2nd time round to prevent a miscarriage and there was mention of vitamins especially Vitamin D supplements. I never know what to do for best though but figure my eggs could maybe do with a helping hand!

I thought I would just pop on this thread (yet again today!) to show you this chinese proverb I found, about sorrow. I thought it was really good and will try to keep it in mind if things start getting me down

?You cannot prevent the birds of sadness from passing over your head, but you can prevent their making a nest in your hair"

BlueCrane · 07/07/2011 15:08

I'm just taking folic acid at the moment but have a whole stash of pregnancare to swap onto as/when/if Hmm I get a bfp though the pregnacare doesn't do my bowels any good as last time that combined with being pregnant meant I needed copious amounts or prunes to keep me going (sorry TMI!)

Now...odd day today...bfn on Tuesday so not expecting any more bleeding but spottted again this morning and now lots of clear CM?!?!? I've heard that some people spot when they ovulate (never had this before) so wondering whether that might be going on but all rather Confused really!!

eve sorry to hear you've got to go and queue at the clinic - what a pain!

MandaHugNKiss · 07/07/2011 15:20

blue It's possible you couldd be O'ing... similarly, you're in the wtf cycle so it could be something and nothing! Still, no harm in hopping on DH... Grin

marathon I'm still very excited for you!

Glad you're able to slow down a little summer - I went back to work after both of my older two, but couldn't face it do it now. Aside from how exhausted I'd be with two teens, a toddler and work, I don't want to miss any of his toddlerhood. With my older two, I was young and really didn't appreciate how precious this time is.

Well done to those who have lost weight... I've done nothing about it myself!

My mum is visiting for the day on Monday - I've not seen her for a couple of years. Lots of cleaning needing doing here too!

I've been taking pregnacare plus omega since june 2009! As it's suitable for pregnancy and breastfeeding (and I'm still feeding DS2) I've kept the company afloat in these difficult economic times kept shelling out for the super-expensive convenience that they are considering my diet often leaves a lot to be desired. Mostly me desiring cake...

Shameless plug alert! I just started my first ever thread in chat here

whatsoever · 07/07/2011 16:37

Hello all (sorry, I've given up namechecking unless I'm answering a question directly as I always miss someone out and then feel awful Blush )

AF finally seems to have gone today - only 12 days of bleeding then! Angry DH left for Paris yesterday for a few days (after only returning from Thailand on Saturday afternoon) so it feels like a waste of a week. What has my life come to that I judge it all in SWI opportunities gained or lost?

Work is horrible and mental. I feel like usually if work is bad, I take comfort in my personal life being good or vice versa but at the moment I feel like both are dragging me down. Poor DH and workmates for having to put up with me and my general demeanour of anger and frustration.

Blue - like you every where I look people are pregnant. Whether it is scan pics or pictures of people I went to uni with with bumps on facebook, or paternity leave out of office messages in the office, or generally pregnant people in every available space near me!

eve sorry about the possible infection, hope you get sorted out soon

Pie I take whatever conception/pregnancy vitamin is the cheapest in Boots when I go in. Currently on Boots own barnd conception multivits and when they run out I have Sanatogen mum to be to takeover. I generally check they have the right amount of folic acid and vitamin D and a bit of iron and anything else is a bonus.

Can't wait for the weekend, hopefully I will pop back in a less foul mood. Have a holiday booked now, so can at leat count down the sleeps to that Smile
