...or I may phone DH to pick up a 2-pack of FR tests on his way home! At this rate, my (possibly) yet to be conceived child's inheritance will be spent before he/she even gets here!

MandaHugNKiss · 16/06/2011 19:24

missG I think you will have a clearer idea if you do the other cd digi in a couple few days - it definitely is possible that the cheapies were more sensitive, so you could be pg rather than still picking up dropping hcg.

Well, cd12 here. No ewcm. Snow white OPK. No egg any day soon, I don't think... If I had to bet on it, I'd guess cd18 (if at all - as I've said I'm pretty sure I haven't O'd since the delivery/precedure)

BlueCrane · 16/06/2011 20:23

Well...just listed a huge amount of stuff on eBay which is very satisfying! At least I feel as though I have 'acheived' something before I go back to work tomorrow. Will POAS again Tues or Thurs next week and see how that line's doing Hmm Hand not really feeling much better but will see how the ibuprofen gel does over the next few days.

missg hope you got your washing nice and dry - we've had April showers again here today! And I agree with manda re. testing again in a few days...I have heard that the digi ones require higher levels of hcg to register.

manda sorry to hear about lack of ewcm/ov symptoms...I can see the next few cycles being full of frustration trying to work out what on earth our body's are doing!

Missgiraffe1 · 17/06/2011 08:40

Blue good luck on your first day back, hope it goes ok. Are you off at the weekend?

Manda, I 'think' I ovulate late in my cycle, although haven't really tracked properly. It's just a guess, as got pg last year at a time I definitely thought was safe (we were avoiding TTC for a few months so I wasn't ready to pop at my best friend's wedding, as I was her bridesmaid). And, I think I can feel ovulation (a wee tight pain, like someone's pinching a bit of my insides).
Did you track before? I might have a look at that link you posted a while back.

I wish I knew what was going on, especially as still no AF, no signs of AF and FR test this morning was bfn! Grrrrrr. Will do another test on Monday, and will just avoid booze this weekend.
Shouldn't be too hard, out shopping for holiday clothes tonight then picking my DH up from work night out, and have my 1 year old nephew staying tomorrow night.

Anyone got any exciting plans for the weekend? It's miserable here today. After a lovely day of sunshine yesterday too. Aaah, well, keeping myself focussed on my week in South of France in a couple of weeks.

BlueCrane · 17/06/2011 10:10

Morning all...well, I'm at home - not work as planned! Has a terrible night's sleep - think I was more tense about going back than I realised - feel rough this morning so have said I'll be back Monday instead...feel a bit pathetic and fed up about it tbh but soooo tired this morning having been awake half the night! So...first day back will be my birthday which is not ideal but at least if i take cakes in it might distract people from the fact I've been off Hmm

missg I also used to ov late in my cycle - think CD25 but my cycles were 35-37 days so interested to see what happens now post MC. Sorry about your bfn's and no AF...how frustrating!

DH had been planning a big day out for my birthday tomorrow but cancelled plans as he wasn't sure how I'd be but think he's going to take me out for lunch and some shopping instead which will still be nice!

Happy Friday everyone!

MarathonMama · 17/06/2011 11:34

Hi all!

Happy Friday to you too Blue and everyone else Smile

Blue don't stress about work, just concentrate on feeling better.

MissG I'm frustrated for you so can't imagine how you must be feeling.

CD 8 here so have started the sperm meets egg plan. DH is not sure about it as he doesn't want to feel like he's just a sperm donor. It is quite exhausting so we'll see if we can keep it up (literally!). I have no idea when I ov as have never tracked it, in a way I'm reluctant to start as I don't want to get too obsessive about this whole thing, on the other hand it would be useful to know when we're likely to hit the bullseye (as it were).

The plan mentions that if it doesn't work for 3 months you should start using cough medicine to improve your EWCM. Has anyone else heard of this or is someone having a laff?

DH's b'day tomorrow and Father's Day on Sunday so I'm off to make some fairy cakes, I'm a rubbish cook...

MandaHugNKiss · 17/06/2011 11:47

blue Can I again reiterate not pushing too hard too soon? Grin Seriously, another day in the scheme of things is no biggy so don't stress.

missG Ugh! So... I'm wondering if the lines on the cheap tests could have been nasty evaps? What brand were they? Perhaps try another one of the same brand? Either way, FRER are pretty reliable. Hope this won't upset you, but there's the possibility it was a chemical pregnancy?

I have to say, given how long it took me to get a bfn, I'm erring towards you picking up falling hcg from the erpc. So sorry it's such a confusing, frustrating time for you.

Marathon Using certain cough medicines (that contain ONLY guaifenesin with no other active ingredient) will help with the quality of your ewcm. Just as it thins the mucus in your throat to ease a cough, so it thins any mucus anywhere else in your body!

Good luck with SMEP - and double good luck with the baking

I second Marathon's and Manda's advice Blue, work has to take a back seat until you feel able. Retail therapy sounds like a good idea.

It is frustrating Marathon, but I am resigning myself to falling HcG, and am now willing AF to get a bloody move on. I think a test on Monday (if I can hold out until then) will feel more conclusive since, with the doubling of HcG every 48-72 hours, any test should pick up the increase by then if it was a new pg. They were Tesco cheapies manda, lines appeared after 4-5 minutes both times, they are faint but very clear, so didn't think they were evap lines. After my ectopic, it took 10 weeks for my HcG to drop to 0. Felt like an eternity (and I felt like a pin cushion!) but suppose every pg/mc is different.

marathon, sounds like you could have a fun, if exhausting, weekend ahead of you Wink. Had never heard of the cough medicine theory before. Every day's a school day!

NB Must remember fathers day pressies when out shopping tonight!

Summerbird73 · 17/06/2011 13:00

Hello can i join in please? I havent read the thread as am on lunchbreak (but will try a sneaky read this afternoon!).

I had a MC in March and we started TTC again last month, i got a BFN and AF arrived on Thursday last week Sad but it was only our first month. So we are going to go for it next week Blush

I have a DS who was 2 on Wednesday [smiile] he is our little pickle and if we dont conceive again then at least we have him.

Summerbird73 · 17/06/2011 13:02

Welcome summerbird, sorry for your loss. Good to hear you're TTC again though.

I had ERPC for MMC on 16th May, no AF yet, and conflicting pg tests results Sad. It's great on here. Even if there are no answers, you will still get a sympathetic/empathetic ear, some words of wisdom and/or experience, or just some non-purposeful, daft, chat if you feel like it Smile

I have been on here far too much these past few days actually, but have needed it (IYSWIM). I usually end up working late, as I feel guilty for at the end of the day!

whatsoever · 17/06/2011 13:17

Hello all. I am frustrated for you missgiraffe, here's hoping for a definite BFP when you test this weekend.

blue yey to the swish new hair.

Also very amused by the matching underwear chat!

Sadly not back on the bonking bandwagon yet in my house due to ridiculously long working days for both of us followed by the Holland trip for DH. He's back late tonight, then the wedding and staying at the parents but back home Sunday and a bottle of wine and an early night is on the cards...finally. I can't believe how impatient I am being. I don't think it's even about TTC anymore, I just haven't had any in a while Grin

One of my best friends who has been having fertility treatment has just found out she is pregnant. I am so happy for her but we had talked ever since we both started TTC a year ago about our hopes we'd be pregnant together...obviously without the MMC that would have been the case, but trying not to get too sad as a) I could yet be prenant again before she has thebaby b) she has a high chan of miscarriage because of PCOS apparently so no-one is chicken counting yet and c) because I am so bloomin' happy for her!

Will try and work out the stats thingy and add myself.

whatsoever · 17/06/2011 13:19

Sorry I'm useless! I have read the definitions at the start of the thread but what does the #number refer to and what is cd? Blush

Missgiraffe1 · 17/06/2011 13:28

Hey Whatsoever

Congrats for your BFs pg. I am sure you'll be following her soon. Hang around her a lot - apparently if you are in the company of pg women it makes you mroe fertile! (old wives tale maybe?? I'm willing to believe anything I like the sound of tbh)

Sorry for lack of opportunities in the TTC stakes, but roll on Sunday Grin
The '#' means 'number' as in 'child number' (I think). CD is cycle day (I think, CD1 being day 1 of period)

shellshock7 · 17/06/2011 13:49

Sorry about your confusion MissG what a nightmare : - (

Re charting - I'm fretting now whether I am doing the right thing...before charting we used to DTD every other night, some nights it was a bit of a chore tbh but mainly we just enjoyed it and just assumed that was the way to get pregnant!

Now I've read TCOYF and am fully charting, we only had sex on the days I presumed necessary, now in the two week wait and am thinking we should have DTD more often and should still be doing it now!!
I don't think we can win sometimes, our minds will make us stress no matter what Confused

Missgiraffe1 · 17/06/2011 15:08

Thanks shellshock, have chilled out a bit about it now, was a bit agitated Wed and yesterday, but have busy weekend to keep my mind occupied.

If you've DTD a few times in the right time frame, you have a good chance of conceiving. FX for you!

DH and I once said we'd do it 10 days/nights in a row - only lasted 4! The novelty wore off, it didn't feel spontaneous or romantic (especially as we had to try to be quiet sometimes with teenage DD in the house!) She would have thrown up if she knew what we were up to! Dying for a baby bro or sis, but gags at any mention of the 'act' Grin

You're right though, we do stress no matter what. THAT is the only thing I am certain of in this whole process!

I've been good and stayed at home and rested...online shopping/planning for redecoration of the hallway has kept me very well entertained Smile and think it was the right decision not to go to work as I have been so tired all day after bad sleep last night, and bruising seems to be appearing on my hand/wrist (finally) where the hospital managed to properly muck up putting the thing in for the anesthetic last week...quite sore so hoping the bruising coming out is a sign of it starting to get better!

Really should add myself to the stats though we're definitely still in the Waiting to conceive section! Doc said we should wait 6 weeks before trying again when I saw him yesterday but think as long as I get a bfn then I'm happy to go for it!

Hope all the SWI plans come together for people of the weekend...and that the 2ww isn't too loooong for those waiting to know what's going on inside!

Grin mention of cakes has reminded me that I need to do some baking to take into work for my birthday on Monday! But for me not a chore as I love baking and find it very relaxing...now to choose what cake to make...mmm...

Summerbird73 · 17/06/2011 22:32

thanks for the welcome missgiraffe you made me PMSL at the teenage daughter scenario! i remember being 10 and my parents telling me i was going to have a likkle bro or sister - i boaked at the thought of it (tho my 28yo DSis is so worth it now!)

Missgiraffe1 · 18/06/2011 09:51

Morning all. Have resisted the urge to do another test this morning (I do have some willpower afterall!)

Blue am salivating at the thought of cake-baking. Send some my way please! Sounds as though you really needed that extra day at home.

Off to pick up my gorgeous wee nephew shortly, 13 months old. Have him until tomorrow evening. He's had wee bug these last 2 days though, so it could be messy!! (I'm thinkling now could be a good time for some DH nappy changing training??)

Have a lovely day everyone.

MandaHugNKiss · 18/06/2011 10:45

Oh, missg I hope DNephew isn't too poorly - and keep DH away from his nappies if they're awful! It'll just put him off, I'm sure. It's one thing when they're your own childs but quite another when not! Unless he's one of those new-agey types in which case let him at 'em Grin

And isn't it funny - I have a 16 yo DD, a 13 yo DS and DP has a 14 yo DD and none of them are creeped out by our sex life! Infact, we even go as far with my DD to say 'Watch him (DS2) for ten minutes, we're just going to talk in the bedroom' and she laughs and rolls her eyes (but knows we're trying and was very upset by our loss so...)

BlueCrane · 18/06/2011 12:00

Morning all

Well done for resisting the POAS missg I do feel your pain for the waiting though!! A normal 2ww is bad enough without all the confusion caused by MC!!

I'm off for a day of pampering by DH...nice lunch out and a shopping spree with his card to pay Grin it is my birthday on Monday so I think I'm allowed!! Plus he's great to shop with as patiently waits when I'm trying things on and carries all the bags! Just hope it doesn't rain...shopping in the rain is never quite so much fun dashing between shops and sorting out a soggy umbrella!

Hope you all have a great Saturday!
