Hi everyone, only popping in as am mad busy with my sisters wedding so sorry for the lack of individual posts.

Really glad you got chance to spend time with your little girl. we spent a day and night with our little boy. I have since mc again at around 9 weeks (baby was 6-7) take care of yourself xxx

MissTinaTeaspoon · 03/06/2011 17:12

hotcrossSES · 03/06/2011 17:16

Hello all! Great to have loads of chat to catch up on. I'm home now but only after what I think can best be described as a bit of a comedy of errors:

  • no Dr had been allocated to do the list of ERPCs this morning so they had to draft one in from another hospital. As a result I got to the hospital as requested at 7.45am but didn't go to theatre until 11.50am!
  • lost a load of blood during the procedure and have been put on iron tablets for a month as anaemic as a result
  • painkillers requested to take home were initially supplied at the wrong strength
  • temperature went up after the procedure so they're worried I might have an infection so I had to wait around to see the Dr and now also have a week of antibiotics

I'm feeling really pathetically week and groggy still so hoping DH will understand me taking things easy tonight.
On the plus side, the nurse looking after me was lovely.

Sorry not to NC everyone but wanted to say hello to cupoftea and sorry for your losses. I've now had 3mc but all 1st trimester. I can't imagine how tough a later mc must be.

Let's hope we have a sunny weekend and all get the opportunity to relax.

BlueCrane · 03/06/2011 17:49

hotcrossSES glad you're home safely despite the multitude of pills and errors on the part of the hospital! Make sure you rest up and take it easy, am sure your DH will understand!

I've had a very strange afternoon. DH came home from work and was so so tired I just wanted to look after him but not long after he got home I started getting weird flashes of light accross my eyes which wouldn't go away. I called nhsdirect as I was worried it could be a sign of high blood pressure and they advised to go to A&E so off we went. Got seen pretty quickly and blood pressure fine, temp fine, oxygen levels fine though urine test showed very strong positive pregnant Hmm Doc said she thought it was start of migraine as I was starting to get a headache and advised rest and paracetamol, so now home again. I have suffered with bad headaches approx once a week since I got bfp and hormone levels clearly not dropped yet, but then still no bleeding or cramps! This afternoon has quite screwed with my head! I am sure of my dates so really don't think there's any chance we will get positive news at the scan on tuesday but I just so want to know what's going on!!

ciwi hope wedding goes really well tomorrow and not too difficult for you.

I wonder how googie is doing?

tina thinking of you too - hang in there!!

falcon so sorry to hear about your week - sounds tough!

bats glad you got to enjoy the sunshine today!

dizzy hope you feel better soon!

googietheegg · 03/06/2011 17:53

Hello all, and thank you for the happy vibes. My eprc is now over and I'm back home eating sweets. It wasn't too awful really, but I feel groggy now. Sending thumbs up to everyone for a positive weekend. Xxx

hotcrossSES · 03/06/2011 17:58

googie - glad it's all over with ok and you're home. Take it easy!

BlueCrane - how strange! Glad you got checked out. Our bodies can be quite cruel sometimes though. With my first mc, the day after the 12 wk scan when we'd found out baby had died at 6wks, DH took me out for a meal and I couldn't enjoy it due to morning sickness. Really didn't seem fair! Make sure you take it easy too.

Maybe we need a line up of sun loungers, Pimms and cake (or ice cream?!) for the weekend?

BlueCrane · 03/06/2011 18:03

hotcrossSES sunloungers, Pimms, cake and ice-cream sound fab!! Smile

googie glad all ok, rest and enjoy the sweets!

Going to sign off for a while as my heads starting to pound again!! grrrr...

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 03/06/2011 18:20

googie glad the erpc is over and you're ok, take care of yourself.
SES glad your erpc is over too, but sorry you've had a crap time getting it done. Hope you're ok and feeling better soon.
Blue poor you, that's rubbish, can understand why you'd be feeling confused. Hang on in there and hopefully you'll know more on Tuesday. Hope the headaches calm down.

Pimms and sunloungers do sound fab... next to a lovely warm swimming pool somewhere tropical... ahhh

MandaHugNKiss · 03/06/2011 21:39

Hello all, I would like to jump aboard if you can take another newbie?

DH and I decided at the weekend that we would like to ttc again following the loss of our second son on 1st April (mmc discovered at 28th march @ 16+1, baby had died about 2 weeks before). Was medically managed at 16+5 - that ended in a traumatic emergency erpc as my BP fell to 50/23 following the delivery (the baby was in a clot the size of a football - I could barely believe it possible). I'm 37, have two older dc (DD16 and DS1 13 from marriage to exH), DP has an older DD13 and our DS is almost 15months.

I had a period 32 days after the delivery/procedure (3rd May) but no signs of O and am currently cycle day 32 with, again, no signs of O (or af). OPK's and cheapy IC's arrived yesterday so I took one of each for a stark snow white result on both. I'm antsy for either! Did anyone not O for a couple of cycles (or more) following their losses? It seems odd that you hear 'more fertile after a loss' bandied so much and yet I am not even ovulating (or if I am, my body is not giving me any of its usual signs).

I'll go now and read through the previous pages so I can try and get a handle on some names/where people are in their journey.

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 04/06/2011 01:38

Manda I am so sorry to read about your loss and your awful experience. I had a mmc at 9 weeks (baby measured 5-6weeks) that experience was horrid, but i can't even imagine what it must be like to go through a later mc. Sorry I can't answer your question, my mmc was my first pregnancy and only happened recently so all this is new to me. I am still waiting for af to return and am still deciding when is a good time to start ttc again. Fingers crossed we're all luckier soon :)

CollieandPup · 04/06/2011 08:45

googie and hotcross glad your back from your erpc. Hope you're both feeling ok today.

manda so sorry for your loss and espcially that it was so traumatic.

I remember having conversations on here a few months ago about ov after mc. Aparently it is not uncommon at all. If fact I recall one lady saying she had a couple of cycles post mc where she didn't ov, until everything settled down again. Not particulary helpful when you are desperate to ttc again!! I think in general, they say (though not sure who 'they' are) that the average woman tends to have 1-2 cycles every year where she doesn't actually ov too!! Are you charting your temperature? I used fertility friend and it can be a good reliable indication of whether you've ov'd or not. On the flip sides it's also very demanding, having to do it every single day.

Lots of luck x

MandaHugNKiss · 04/06/2011 12:03

I do chart, collie or at least, I have. I was charting to get pregnant with DS2 and again for the loss (although I fell pregnant the first month of trying!). I have simply tracked my cycle since the erpc as I understand temps can be haywire afterwards... that said, I have temped the last three mornings to see if I can glean anything from it but I'm probably more confused now! My temps are post-ov if I go by how my body was before I concieved DS2, but pre-ov if I go by the cycle before my loss (I SO want to say DS3 there but I'm always so concious of where that leads in real life - y'know 'How many kids have you got?' 'Four: DD, DS1 DS2 DS3. But DS3 died when I got an awful flu/virus thing when 12+6... 'Oh, I'm sorry ') and as I'm probably closer to how I was when I concieved DS3 then I would guess I'm... pre-ov. Oh, I should also mention I'm still breastfeeding DS2!

Ugh. This limbo is frustrating. Have to try and not stress about it though because we all know stress can delay O!

MissTinaTeaspoon · 04/06/2011 12:18

Hello manda, sorry for your losses, what an awful experience. I had 3 very short cycles after my mmc, I'm assuming too short to haveov'd even though one month I got a positive opk. My gp said it can take up to 3 months to go back to normal and that was true for me.

googie and hotcrosses I'm glad you are both home safe and well (well as well as to be expected anyway!). Look after yourselves over the next few days x

blue how are you today?

Well day 27 with no sign of anything...I just got up and forgot to test though with my 'fmu'. (well first urine since I went before going to bed 3 1/2 hours ago anyway!). I'm working a day shift tomorrow so I'll be up at 5 running around like a mad thing to get ready so probably won't test tomorrow either (although af will probably have surprised me by then!)

Waves to everyone

DizzyKipper · 04/06/2011 13:49

Hi all, wow there's a lot too catch up on at the mo. I'm also feeling a bit fuzzy headed at the moment so not feeling able to concentrate and reply to anyone right now, sorry. Think I will just take some marshmallows for now Smile

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 04/06/2011 13:50

whats agnus castus?
I'm a bit rubbish at this trying to conceive thing. First time it took about 8 - 9 months to conceive but i was determined to stay relaxed about it so did nothing other than sex when we actually wanted it. I really don't want it to take another 8 months to conceive again. Is it worth buying ovulation sticks or charting temp? My cycle has always been haywire and unpredictable. Blush

BlueCrane · 04/06/2011 14:06

hello all...well, was woken in the night (3am and 7am) by bad-ish period type cramps but still no bleeding and cramps have gone again now! Headache wore off fairly quickly with paracetamol yesterday though DH and I had a bit of a row later in the eve as we were both so so tired and totally stressed out with everything (his work is a nightmare at the mo too!). So still very Confused and (impatient emoticon) to find out what on earth is going on inside me!!

manda so so sorry to hear your news - sounds like a horrible experience to go through! Really hope you get some answers soon re. AF or Ov it's so frustrating! bats if you can stay chilled and relaxed I'm sure that will help. I tried Ov sticks but didn't get on with them and the best thing I found was just keeping a little diary of what happened each day of my cycle and when we managed to DTD. If nothing to note on a day then I didn't bother but if I'd had (sorry TMI) lots of discharge/cervical mucus I made a note of that as it can be a sign of ovulation. Didn't bother with temping as thought it would stress me out! Oh, and I've heard of agnus castus but not actually sure what it is - some kind of herbal supplement maybe?!

We're going to try and pop out for a wander around a few shops and a nice coffee somewhere in the sunshine now...

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 04/06/2011 14:23

Blue hopefully the pains are your body starting to get on things. Enjoy your day out.

Don't think i'll stay as relaxed this time round, i was nearing looking into anything to help when i finally got bfp. But i know i'd be rubbish at remembering to poas every morning or taking my temp, i'm not good at doing much in the mornings tbh!

PieMistress · 04/06/2011 20:30

Hi everyone,

I've heard agnus castus can help regulate irregular cycles and short luteal phases?

I've got an appt at the EPU (not till Tues though - grrrr) because i've still got a + and am still spotting 4 weeks after my m/c. The MW thinks I might have a small piece of tissue left and it's size will depend on the course of action. If it's very small they will just let it come out of it's own accord but any larger then I will need intervention. GRRRRRRR. We are also going on holiday a week today so I just want it all to be sorted! Our baby was only 5/6 weeks in size when it stopped growing and I can't believe how long it is taking for my body to stop being pregnant SOB!

So another scan on Tuesday. :(

I thought my eyes might have been playing tricks on me with my IC tests (DH said he couldn't see a line but I could) so I splashed out on a Clearblue Digi which clearly said '1-2 weeks pregnant. I just want to try and move on but it's so difficult with the spotting and + tests. The MW also said that the GP might have to give me something to stop the spotting and kick start my period.

Sorry my post has been me, me, me!

welcome manda sorry you have found yourself here - there are a lovely bunch of ladies and i've received so much support x

hotcrossSES · 04/06/2011 20:51

Hello all! Have been feeling so much better physically today which is good. I just need to work through the emotional side now - easy eh?!

Manda - welcome to the thread but sorry to hear of your experiences and losses. I only joined the thread within the last few days but have already found it a huge help.

Blue - how have you been doing today? Any more pains? Hope you managed to get out and enjoy the sun.

Pie - I'm glad you've been in touch with the EPU and I'm sure that everything gets sorted before your holiday.

Bats - I get less and less relaxed each time! Dread to think what I'll be like when we start ttc again and if/when we get pg! With the pg I've just lost I was already charting, using OPKs and CBFM Blush I'm not obsessed at all, am I?!

ciwi - was the wedding today? Hope it's all gone well and you're enjoying yourself.

Dizzy - you've reminded me I've got a packet of lovely large chunky marshmallows in the cupboard.....

Tina - I've got my fx for you!!!

Hello everyone else - collie, googie and anyone else I've missed.

TheFalconsmistress · 05/06/2011 00:44

Having the worst week ever :(

Hope everyone is doing ok, to the long stays on the thread is there still like a common room for when you have been trying for ages no offence to all you newbies but i feel that were i am right now may be more suited to that thread?

MissTinaTeaspoon · 05/06/2011 05:40

falcon I've been posting on the common room thread - I feel the same way as you. There's some familiar faces over there :(. Just got a bfn on a cb digi, with fmu. No signs of any impending af but if I was pg it would show up by now :(

BlueCrane · 05/06/2011 15:54

falcon and tina so sorry you're feeling so down the TTC proving so tough for you both.

I'm just plodding along and waiting for Tuesday so we can hopefully start getting some answers!

hotcross so glad you're feeling a bit better.

googie how are you doing?

pie sorry to hear your news - hope you get some good news on Tuesday!

MandaHugNKiss · 05/06/2011 17:03

Af got me this morning! Who knew I'd ever be glad to see that witch show?

BlueCrane · 05/06/2011 17:09

manda at least you know a bit more where your body's up to and can work forward from that! Hope AF behaves herself and not too painful, heavy etc! Take care

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 05/06/2011 20:57

I think i've actually stopped bleeding now! Grin Still exhausted with no energy though. Still need to do a test to make sure i get a bfn before deciding whether to do as docs say and wait for next period or just say sod it and get on with it!

Hope everyone is ok today, glad you're feeling a bit better SES

Falcon and Tina sorry you're both feeling so down.

Hope you're ok Manda.

Not too long til Tuesday now Blue.
