Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

dachs thinking of you with fingers and toes crossed.

Daisybell1 · 16/05/2011 20:54

Dachs have only just seen your news. I'm so sorry for you sweetheart and have everything crossed for you.

You are in my prayers tonight

xx

lily06 · 16/05/2011 21:07

Dachs I am so very sorry to read your news. Keeping everything crossed that your miracle comes along and everything turns out ok. Thinking of you x

Emoo · 16/05/2011 21:28

Dachs I'm so so sorry to hear about what you are going through at the moment. Here's another person contributing to the collective effort of willpower and positive thoughts. xx
Remember also that doctors spend a lot of their time dealing with the bad outcomes (and therefore tend towards inappropriately terrifying people), in contrast to midwives who spend their time dealing largely with the uncomplicated (so tend more towards being inappropriately reassuring). The truth may be somewhere in between.
Keeping fingers very very crossed for the pups tonight.

DoubleDiffedDachs · 16/05/2011 21:38

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Much appreciated. Also, those of you who have bookcases me I will be responding but I don't have the energy today. Sorry for hijacking the thread today. Will keep you all posted. I just want to say how fab you all are. I have had a shitty day and you guys being there has really helped.

But I also want to say to you all that my issues don't mean you can't post your good news or own freakouts on here, so I expect some non- Dachs posts tomorrow! Grin. And I expect some positive scan news from you all

DoubleDiffedDachs · 16/05/2011 21:41

Bookcases said bookfaced until my iPhone changed it on me...

I hope you are managing to get some rest tonight Dachs Still thinking of you here xx

randomimposter · 16/05/2011 22:05

Dachs I hope you manage to get some rest - you must be emotionally exhausted after the day you've had.

Your message sounds so brave but you must be desperately worried and sad. I'm so sorry you have all this to deal with. I don't "know" you well but you seem such a lovely person. I'm thinking of you and praying (yes, for the first time for a while, hope licence not expired) that your situation improves.

Much love x

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/05/2011 22:15

dachs please don't feel you've hijacked, that's what we're here for. Please post as much or as little as you need. We're all here for you - you, dh and the pups are in my thoughts and prayers tonight xx

collie thanks for asking, the NT scan went really well, but it just never seemed a good time to post. I've gone back 2 days but this ties in with my late ov. I'll update me next time the list comes up.

nickstermum · 16/05/2011 22:26

Logged in just to see whether there was an update from you dachs. I hope you manage to get sone rest and forget about thread hijack. X everything crossed and you are very much in my thoughts still. X

pigletmania · 16/05/2011 22:26

OOOOh just the thread for me, I have a BFP last week, prior to that 2 MC and one gorgeous and happy healthy dd aged 4. Its taken 2 years of ttc2, yes I am constantly knicker checking, fat lot of good that did me for my last MC, still lost the baby Sad. Going to relax and just take each day as it comes.

IreneHeron · 16/05/2011 23:00

Night night Dachs, hope you get good rest tonight and good news tomorrow. [hand squeeze and hair stroke].

Congrats Piglet, welcome to the thread. I too had 2 years ttc, well done on the BFP!

DoubleDiffedDachs · 17/05/2011 06:10

Morning all. Didn't sleep very well (even though they gave me a sleeping pill) but at least I didn't lose a baby overnight. Don't have a high temp either, so it doesn't look like infection has set in yet. Doc will be in to se me between 11 and 12 I think, so I'll update you then.

batteryhen · 17/05/2011 06:40

dachs It is a good sign that your temp is not up, so thats one positive thing to think of, and excellent news that the pups are still in there. :) Hope your news continues to get better today xxx

randomimposter · 17/05/2011 06:50

Morning Dachs... like the others have said. no temp is good news (will they pump you full of abs to prevent infection now?) and great that the little one has stayed put overnight. I truly hope there is something the docs can suggest or do xxx You are very much in my thoughts right now x
