Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

Grin blackkat no indeed they'll probably think i'm having a litter. Thankfully for now, the camper is locked away at my mums partners garage while he works on it. So thats still under wraps.

Ooh Just googled the Tiguan - VERY NICE. A 4x4 i assume? Brilliant. And very roomy! I have to admit i've been feeling a bit guilty too as we were going to upgrade DH's car too which is a Megan, which runs fine, but DH hates. But after streching ourselves for the Camper and Qashai, thats been quashed and he's having to make do. [also slightly ashamed to admit getting my own way emoticon] ....but we ARE pg and do have to give birth, so isn't that the rules that we get our own way???

Glad you're feeling good blackkat my tums gone hard too! Smile Starting to allow myself to feel positive about this pg now < hopes the jinx pixies aren't listening>

Thank You for the lovely welcome! and thank you starkadder for the lovely post - I have read Lesley Regan's book and it was one of the most reassuring books I have ever read. A truely amazing woman.

blackkat Congratulations and lovely to see you here too! I am so glad things are working out for you. Hope you have luck finding the perfect industrial parachute bra :D

I seem to be suffering from kitchen and night sickness. I retch whenever I go into the kitchen, or I start feeling nauseous and retch when I'm laying in bed, otherwise I am fine during the day. Also went strawberry picking with DD yesterday, came home and slept for 1.5 hours. I never sleep during the day, but I was absolutely shattered.

I have my second scan next Monday, when I will be 9w+1d, so already I am googling what scan pictures should look like, how big the baby should be and so on...Bad I know, but it keeps me busy!

Thanks for the lovely chocolate cornflake cakes collie!

LaraMi · 01/06/2011 16:49

Oh dear - my tummy feels podgy....

Blackkat · 01/06/2011 16:56

Well mine's harder than it was lara, but don't misinterpret hard for slimline and toned Grin. Most days I just look like I'm partial to pies and sitting around on my arse. Don't stress!

Velvetcu · 01/06/2011 17:20

yay bump for good news and I'm liking the name change too - I quite fancy a new one but cant decide on what.

welcome milky feel free to vent as much as you need to

I went to see the physio today about hip/pelvis pain and have come home with a support belt, crutches and a strict list of what I am not allowed to do which basically is everything! I'm not allowed to reach up, bend down, twist, walk too much or sit for too long. This is impossible.

I hope everyone else is good - I sat in the garden for a couple of hours this afternoon and it was fab Grin

hairylights · 01/06/2011 17:35

bump great news!

milky welcome. I know the feeling ... I also saw a seven week heartbeat with baby#2 only to find no heart beat at 10 weeks. So I am holding your hand and feeling your fear.

hadrian · 01/06/2011 19:12

Hello everyone, just checking in as I haven't had time to post for a while.

Great scan news bump, I'm so pleased for you. I think dates can change quite a lot at scans, my SIL ended up having her due date put back by 2 weeks.

Welcome milky and congatulations. Sorry to hear you've had such a tough time but I agree with others, there's no reason why this shouldn't be a perfectly healthy and successful pregnancy. Feel free to vent as much as you like along the way!

I had a horrible dream last night where I started to bleed, told a couple of friends that I was having another MC and then started getting texts from random people expressing sympathy for my loss...bizarre and distressing. All seems OK in the cold light of day though. My confidence after last week's scan lasted about 24 hours and I am now back to my usual worry levels...roll on 12 weeks!

Not had time to post recently also mentalling quite a lot so just pretending it's not happening. But hope you are all well.

harassedinherpants · 02/06/2011 10:01

I'm back!! Moving was hellish, but on the other it gave me something else to mental about for a few days Grin. I had my 12 week scan appointment through and it's Friday of next week. Cue much mentalling and worrying. Dh made me sort through dd's baby clothes yesterday, cue jinxed feelings!!!! However, my belly is growing rapidly, even dh is shocked! But I guess the tummy muscles are a bit knackered as this is number 4 and I'm 40. It's 22 years since I was first preg......weird hey?! I do feel very preg, sickness is coming and going rather than constant, but when it's there it's quite bad. Otherwise lots of symptoms, knackered, sore and huge boobs etc etc....... Seems very different to when I had my mmc in Jan, and obviously didn't get that far with the mc in March.

Anyway.......

Bump great scan news!!!

Milky welcome... it's fab here. Def been a sanity saver for me.

Collie Car sounds lovely, and you of course right. Pregnancy means you should always get your own way Grin, that's what I tell dh.

Blackkat oooh your bump sounds lovely! Growing beautifully Grin.

LaraMi · 02/06/2011 10:24

Morning to All.

Loving the car talk... I think I told you all my car story... I was so frustrated with not falling pg after so many months that in March, I splashed out on getting a super cool Mini Clubman... (right down to frivolities like spending £300 on a bloody roof graphic). Then three days after paying my deposit (hadn't even taken delivery of the car), I got my BFP. Oopsadaisy. At least the cars that you ladies are looking at are super practical. I love my Clubman to bits but we will need to consider buggy size etc for the boot space.

Exciting scan news *Harassed" - we missed you by the way.... Wow - no.4 - you will regret telling me that as I will come to you with all my pg-related queries! Are you finding that things have changed heaps since your pg no.1? (in terms of what we're supposed / not recommended to do etc)

Got a MW appointment today.

V fucked off with my MD - the cock still hasn't congratulated me (as if my pg is the elephant in the room). He has now started micromanaging me hugely on a project (when I have been reporting diligently to my direct line manager for the past month). A part of me is sooo tempted to call in sick next week for about 4 days to put them all in the shit... He doesn't realise - I just don't care about his stupid job. When I go on maternity leave, I will not come back. Gahhhhh Grrrrrrrr... Now this stressing is making my tummy hurt. Bloody arsehole.

Excuse swearing but am livid. And even madder as he still hasn't acknowledged my pg.

LaraMi · 02/06/2011 10:25

oops - Harassed not *Harassed"

Bumpgrowing · 02/06/2011 10:35

Dachs thinking of you, your DH and your two beautiful little babies today. xxx

LaraMi · 02/06/2011 10:41

Thinking of you Dachs, MrDachs, Alexander and Felicia.

Minnie74 · 02/06/2011 12:05

Dachs thinking of you all today x

bump great news on the scan

milky hi and sorry for your losses but congrats on the new bump- this is a great place for mentalling.

blackkat good luck with the parachute finding!

Worried about the size of my boobs at the moment! Tried on a summer dress i thought would be great for hiding the pg till end of term but, while it fitted great in most places, there was no way my boobs could squash in. It fit fine a few months ago! At this rate my bump will never catch up and I'll just always look fat- (was a ff before I started!Grin)

Having my NT scan tomorrow-decided to go private to avoid amnio if it looked like I'd need one. If it's all ok I might -scarily - add myself to the list at long last!Shock

YouremindmeoftheBFP · 02/06/2011 13:45

Room for a small freak out?

I'm meant to be 9 weeks today and have been feeling pretty shitty with constant nausea from 6 weeks. However today it's almost gone. I feel pretty good, not too tired and no nausea to speak of. My boobs are a little tender, but maybe fractionally less than yesterday. I've got 3 weeks to wait til my scan. Please reassure me lovely ladies.

CollieandPup · 02/06/2011 14:02

I had the same thing babe . My symptoms started to fade around 9weeks. From about 9-11 weeks my symptoms came and went. some days i'd feel great, others i'd rotten with sickness again. But overall i just started to feel better. I'd say after 12 weeks the sickness had pretty much gone. So don't worry love, its normal. I think its a result of the placenta kicking it. Smile

lily what time is your scan. Good luck if you've not been already, thinking of you.

lara sorry your MD is being an arse. Have you thought about saying something - talking to him about being pg seeing how he responds? The fact that he is begining to mirco manage you frustrates me alot, its a form of harassement and you have every right to complain. How was mw apt?

minnie good luck tomorrow with the scan.

Just had my final NT results back. At the private scan we were 1:10,000 based on scan only, but after bloods we're now 1:27,000 which i'm thrilled with. Had a little listen to pups hb this morning too Smile

harassedinherpants · 02/06/2011 14:17

Yrmotbfp I'm a week and a bit ahead of you and had the same last week. The sickness is noticeably better, but I was doing 24/7 nausea so it's quite nice. I have good days and bad days now! The placenta starts working between 8-12 weeks, so in theory you should gradually start to feel a bit more human. PS if you poke your boobs enough you'll make them sore!!!

Minnie having similar boob related probs! Good luck for tomorrow!

Lara my eldest two are nearly 22 and 21..... I can barely remember their pregnancies Grin. Only that it was much easier being so young, and so uninformed! There wasn't the access to information there is now, and hence less mentalling. Actually sounds blissful..... I agree with Collie, your boss is being an arse. And it most definitely is harassment. Don't put up with it too long. Maybe ask if there's a problem with your work?

Collie fantastic results!!! We've decided not to have ours done as bound to be high to my age (40). Didn't have it done with dd either.

Typically on my first day back at work this week I'm having a bad day sickness wise. Have felt dodgy all day.

Blackkat · 02/06/2011 14:41

Have been thinking about Dachs and DH today. (((hugs)))

Minnie good to hear from you. The clothing thing becomes problematical doesn't it!

Harassed glad the move went ok, if tiring Smile So glad the symptoms are hanging about.

Wishing Lily lots of good luck for the scan

Lara your boss is an Arse.

And a big hello to YRMOTB really good to see you here!!! Grin Collie is right things can begin to ease up a bit at about 9/10 weeks, I woke up one morning at just over 12 and felt hungry for the first time in weeks.

ZamMummyInGabs · 02/06/2011 14:47

Dachs thinking of you all today - hope it gives you a little peace. Can't imagine what you have been going through. Alexander & Felicia will never be forgotten xxxx

harassedinherpants · 02/06/2011 14:58

Two words....... Marmite cheese. It's to die for! Why have I never found this before??! They're by the Mini Babybels if you're interested...

Blackkat weird eating habits?? No idea what you're on about Blush. I'm with you on the bats, scary little things. We used to get them a lot at my mums old house when we were kids.

hairylights · 02/06/2011 15:39

Have been thinking of you dachs and mrdachs x x x

Bumpgrowing · 02/06/2011 16:10

Hi everyone

Manic at work today so just checking in quickly to say Hi and see if there has been any news from Lily? I am sure she had her scan today. Does anyone know what time?

Thanks for everyone's lovely comments on my scan. Trying to keep the freaking out under control as have read lots of stories of MC (Don't slap me I haven't been on the MC boards but they are just generally on here and other conception posts) happening after seeing the hearbeat and in the 8-12 week period. I can't believe how slowly time seems to go when pregnant. I just want the next 4 weeks to fly by until the 12 week scan!

xx
