Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
6. And the presence of symptoms.
7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.

10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

Ah your post made me smile pink. I have to say it was quite funny in retrospect. I was trying to reverse out of my drive, went into first by mistake, hit the accelerator and drove straight down the steps to my neighbour's basement flat. What an idiot. DH not best pleased...he had to go and forage some planks to put under the wheels and jack the car back up. Still all fixed now

I know the 'it won't work for me now' feeling is irrational but can't help myself...must remember the Poisson distribution...

Oooops hadrian! Probably not that funny at the time but glad you can smile about it now. While I'm all for women's equality and all that, sometimes it's damn handy having a male type around!

Poking my head in to wish everyone a good day (especially dachs)
Went to watch pricilla queen of the desert last night and feeling like I should add some sparkle to everyone's day.....so....glittery lipstick and false eye lashes for everyone.

Got my first tummy rub yesterday...I was a bit taken a back. It was more of a tummy wobble actually, maybe it won't be so bad once it's a bit bigger (and hopefully harder)

Dachs Hope you had an uneventful and restful night.

Hadrian I'm sure you can blame Brian for your accident. He's stolen my usually very good sense of direction.

Morning all. Babies still there but I think I leaked a lot of fluid last night. Not sure what time doc is coming but will update you when he has been.

dachs OMG I an truely shocked what insensitive bastards (sorry v ) I can't actually believe you're going through this on top of everything else! very good of your dh 's company to pay for a few days. I hope you resolve it with the ins company soon, it's literally like something dreadful you'd hear in a court in a movie!! I hope you managed to get sone rest last night and the pups are still fighting strong. Will be lurking throughout the day for more updates.

banana I too am for you at the service you got. Your experience sounds very much like my scan yesterday but mine was nhs and I don't really think it's acceptable we have to put up with such a shity service from them, but we do. But getting that when paying private for extra reassuraces is not on! Complain, definately. And copy as many people in as possible.

wiw yes my bloods are to give me a more detailed risk asssessment for downs. The nt scan results I had were done privately 2 weeks ago and I got 1:10,000 the sonograher there said she didn't think we needed the bloods with such a good result, and I was happy not to but dh wanted them... So we did. The 2 week wait will be for the combined risk I assume.

Yesterday was a busy day for us. Started to tell people after the scan which is v scary!!! Only really told my very close friends abd family, I'm thinking I'll tell others as and when I see/speak to them. It's kind of petrifying, but also really nice knowing people know. Then last night we went out to view a clapt out vw campervan that needs restoration!!!! And bought it!!! Omg!!! We must be crazy!!! Very excited about it though, always wanted one!!!!

Hadrian poor you your ordeal sounds terrible!!! I can understand your embarrassement but you'll see the funny side eventually I promise. Especially as noone was hurt! Read back over the end of the last thread, if you want to read about my equally embarrasing car crash 2 years ago!!!! Sonething to do with it rolling down the hill!!! Humiliating at the time. I laugh hard now though

Right got to go. Boiler man due to hopefully fix our boiler and bring heating and hot water back to my house!! ...I really need to clean up, place is a mess!!!

Oh Dachs no, I don't like it. Can't imagine how you must be feeling, and why you've changed names. You are never far from my thoughts. I didn't get a chance to post much yesterday, but I love the names you have chosen. I hope the insurance company changes it's mind soon, and that you have a boringly uneventful day x

Dachs - what a pile of bureaucratic bollox. I hate insurance companies - they seem to find every way possible not to pay out. Thank goodness you've got three days to sort yourself out during which time, I am hopeful it will be resolved. Until then please reast and don't stress. Minnie - brilliant news on the scan... Did we hear from all the scanners yesterday?

This morning started with a big old puke (right after I told DH how pleased I was that nausea seemed to have stopped). Reason for it? We were out of hot chocolate powder so I had to have banana.

Just told work I'm pg and that I can't go to Dubai (work trip) on Sun - waiting for sh*t to hit the fan... But hey, it's not my problem!

xpost... Dachs - don't like the name... put it back and please be positive. New name is too sad and your little beans are fighting with all their might.

Collie I'm also of your camper van! At least it will keep you all busy .

I'm feeling a bit odd today, quite sick and really really tearful. Could really do with not being in work today, but am. All I want to do is be at home with dh and dd....... flaming hormones!!

I had my booking in appointment yesterday afternoon, and that was ok. Mw is very nice and has told me to phone any time and I can have extra appointments if I want to.

Scared to death for scan this pm. Prodded boobs madly and I'm sure they are still sore, not got up yet so don't feel sick but had strong hunger again this morning. Had no sleep, DD up all night with ear ache so no sleep brain making it worse.

Banana I would also complain about the scan, disgusting treatment whether you've paid privately or not!

Dachs I cannot believe everything you are having to go through as if you've not got enough to think about with the insurance company sticking the boot in, I hope they come round and you can concentrate on looking after your beautiful babies. I love the name of your babies, strong and traditional and I pray that everything turns out okay. (don't like new name )

Harrassed what a lovely christmas present

Dachs glad to hear those little ones are still fighting and hanging in there. Hope the doctor provides some reassurance this morning that they are still ok despite the fluid leak and that BUPA see some sense. I am so so angry at them for you . I can't imagine how hard it must be but you need to stay strong like those two little pups as the last couple of days have shown that they don't want to go anywhere.

Morning to everyone else. Feeling ridiculously tired today as was up twice in the night in pain. Looked at my back this morning where I have been lying on a really hot hot water bottle to get rid of the pain and it is in such a state. I've actually burnt the skin..oops.

Just a quick question - so my doctor has referred me to my hospital of choice and now I think I am waiting to be sent an appointment etc. Do they give me the number of a MW and tell me how to book in?
