The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Thought I posted yesterday but I guess not Confused Anyway just wanted to say I'm glad it went well Josie and hooray for clear tubes!!

5DPO here. Ridiculously, after all this time, I still symptom spot from about now Xmas Hmm

JosieSmith1 · 30/12/2011 22:12

Hi Nelly and Princess hope you both had great xmases?

Mine was good but tinged with sadness as we thought we'd have a baby or at least a bump by now (I'm sure you both felt the same)

DH is watching children of men, a world where no women can get pg except one. Sounds familiar Sad

Been working on my website, got all my piccies on www.joscakerybakery.moonfruit.com

Happy new year. 2012 is going to be the year for us. Either I conceive naturally, or I conceive through IVF, or IVF fails and we start the adoption process. That will be my year. Baby dust to all xx

OP posts:
PrincessClementine · 31/12/2011 19:59

Good attitude josie. And a happy new year to you and nelly. So much can change in a year. Xxx

EggNogNelly · 31/12/2011 20:46

Happy New Year to all the Viroids! Hope you are well princess (clementine already, wow!) and Josie this will be our year Xmas Smile

EggNogNelly · 11/01/2012 20:25

Hi Josie and any other viroids who may be lurking! It has gone rather quiet on here but surely everyone in the whole TTC world hasn't now resorted to science and acronyms. Somebody somewhere must just be on the wine, shagging when they feel like it, and generally having fun Grin

In the meantime, I'll just talk to myself. OOOh I like that wallpaper, is it new? Why yes, thank you, glad you like it. Going anywhere nice on holidays?

That sort of thing Grin

How are the cakes Josie, and when are you having your next appointment? I need to get OH to the doctor again so we can get our referral, but to be honest I might just go myself, don't see why he needs both of us in the room at that stage? It's so hard to get a day when we can both manage, as well as get an appointment. I won't say more as I might get cross, but OH is not prioritising this at the moment and it's winding me up a little bit Hmm

Oh I realised that last paragraph really isn't about JSing at all is it!! But you should be proud of me, I have no idea if or when I've ovulated this month, so just having random sex and we'll see what happens, so technically I'm being a very good JSer!!

JosieSmith1 · 11/01/2012 20:48

Well Nelly, I am re-joining the official ranks of JS-hood! I had an epiphany while we were away over the weekend - even if it comes to adoption, one day (hopefully in the not too distant future) I will be a mammy. I'm actually quite excited about adoption. I've realised it's not experiencing the pg that's important, it's being there when the child needs you, and enjoying life together. I saw a pg woman and felt happy, not sad. A sense of peace has descended on me.

Anyway, officially back on the alcohol and flying the shag cape GrinGrin

OP posts:
EggNogNelly · 11/01/2012 21:23

Aww Josie that sounds very very positive. And spookily enough, literally 2 minutes before I came back on to MN and saw this, I had the exact same thought!! Yes, getting pregnant and having our own would be amazing, but it's not the be all and end all. So yes, we WILL have children, and in the meantime, we'll just have fun Grin.

Ah Shag Capes - I've missed them :)

JosieSmith1 · 16/01/2012 16:38

Spooky Nelly! We're still going to follow the advice of the clinic and try IVF or whatever else they recommend, but I think I've come to the realisation that I won't die if I'm told I'm infertile. The world will not disintegrate around me! And to be honest, I feel like the final outcome is going to be that we have to adopt, so part of me thinks, why not just start the process now! But DH isn't as keen as I am and wants to exhaust all other avenues first

It's so quiet on here now, maybe we should start our own PM conversation instead! Where did everyone go!

OP posts:
OhFraktiousTree · 16/01/2012 18:07

I'll come (re)join the party although we're not actually TTC for a few months I need to play spot the ERTD and get done shagging in. My NY resolutions were to drink more Wine and shag more Confused

EggNogNelly · 16/01/2012 21:31

Frak Grin. Welcome "back"! I can't remember when you graduated, I joined in part 2 of the thread, and seem to think you may have had your BFP by then. Anyway I do try to keep up with the Just Mumming thread, as I miss the viroids, so have kept up with everyone's antics as best I can. How is motherhood - clearly going well if you are considering getting back on the horse?!

I do love that NY resolution. Mine are rather dull - spend less, get organised bla bla. Drink and shag more sound way more fun! Are you all healed now. Sorry for the delicate question, but this is the Just Shagging thread so I think it's allowed Wink

Josie I haven't even broached the subject of alternatives, I do think we're a way off that yet. But it's good to have a back up plan. In the meantime, shag capes at the ready! And I do have a glass of Wine to hand, that part of the Viroid rules is well followed.

It is very quiet on here, I think we just keep waffling on for a bit and dream up a sexy new title that'll lure everyone in. Maybe frak can't start to persuade the other viroids it's time they started considering no 2 or 3... Wink

Oh - I need a new name. Suggestions?

OhFraktiousTree · 17/01/2012 06:38

Haha! You can ask, it's allowed. All healed now, got the gynae all clear back in December but DH was busy in the run up to Christmas and then we were travelling round relatives so only got practical confirmation of fitness to shag on Sunday night Wink which gives me hope partly because it didn't hurt and partly because it was accomplished without waking DS!

I BFPd about 18months ago now.

I think val will technically be joining us but reckons she might need assistance again.

Mmmmm thread title to attract newbies

Viroids just shag and hope for the best, who's in?

Just shag, drink wine and pee in a ramekin every so often and occasionally a viroid gets upduffed

News just in - just shagging so effective more Viroids needed !

EggNogNelly · 17/01/2012 12:28

How about The Drink Wine and Shag Plan. So successful we've run out of Volunteers

Grin

Glad you got the all clear, and even better news on not waking the baby! Great that val is keen on number 2 as well, looked like she's been going through a tough few weeks but hopefully will be out the other side soon. I am Envy of her trip - I used to live there, my sister still lives there now, I wish I could have squeezed in her suitcase!! Mind you I was there 3 months ago so can't be too jealous!

OH away for a couple of nights with work which means I get to sleep star-shaped, yay! In true JS fashion I have no idea where I am in my cycle (I presume some days Post Ov, but sort of lost track). I am however making up that I have a metallic taste in my mouth, but as I also have a sore ear it's possible I am just coming down with something.

Right non-Christmassy name?

I'm thinking MuddyWellyNelly Grin.

crowette · 18/01/2012 11:41

Hi all, sorry for going awol - had got quite down after everything, sister's pregnancy, other sister's birth and then half brother announcing his OH is expecting twins, so just immersed myself in work, doing 50-60 hour shifts in the few weeks leading upto xmas!

Knackered myself out in the process so only ended up JSing once - on xmas eve! Had a mainly booze free xmas, but lovely time. Celebrated OH's 40th on 5/1 and DD1's 18th on 9/1, with friend from Wales coming to stay with her 18 month old DD for a week that same day ... so all rather busy and barely time to think!

Just finished 13 days holiday, back to work today. Had a fab time off, lots of wine with my friend!

Anyhoo, the last few days I've had a rather stuffy nose, AF still awol (but with my cycles that's nothing amiss) and slightly tender boobs. So, this morning I thought I'd test, just to rule out pregnancy before I return to work ... Only to get a BFP!!! Was a Tesco test, line not as strong as control, but definitely there!! So told OH and ran over to Tesco to get digi test, which says pregnant 1-2 weeks. By my dates, it should be further than that, so am being cautious and not getting my hopes up.

Sorry to post and run, but bus is nearly at work so I'll post more when I get home this evening!

OhFraktiousTree · 18/01/2012 12:10

Oh wow crowette! Fingers firmly crossed for you Grin

MuddyWellyNelly · 18/01/2012 12:57

Oh wow crowette that is amazing news Grin. I'm so happy for you, was just thinking about you yesterday actually! Fingers massively crossed for sticky sticky bean Smile

MuddyWellyNelly · 18/01/2012 13:01

Ooh also, did you dip the digi in a lovely ramekin of reserved FMU, or was it fresh?? If fresh, maybe that's why dates seem a bit light??

Either way, that's still such lovely news x

crowette · 18/01/2012 19:38

Yay, home now :)

Thank you for the crossed fingers - I'm terrified something will go wrong again, every time I go to the loo I'm inspecting the tissue, lol!

I used the same FMU for both tests, not sure how dilute it was, as I've been getting up to go to the loo during the night.

So, I'm at CD38 today, JS'd on CD13, so maybe OH's swimmers were very long living and I ovulated late (normal for me), or I ovulated earlier than usual and it's just taking it's time to kick in. I stopped charting my temps a couple of months back, but started in the last couple of days, so unsure of ovulation date. I'm trying to remain optimistic! Grin

Today my boobs have been more tender, every customer seems to have strong garlic breath and I was sooooo hot when I got into work and it was a pleasure to work in the back up chiller - without a coat! But I don't think I'll be happy unless I'm carrying a sick bucket and zonking out all the time, then I remember I was virtually symptomless with my 2 DDs, aarrrgh!!

OH is ecstatic, but we're not telling anyone in RL until the 12 weeks mark and we have a little picture of a waving baby in our hands. Although I did tell my boss at work today, as it's a rather physical job and didn't want them to think I was just slacking when I'm not throwing around trays of veg quite as freely as usual Wink I still can't quite get excited about it though.

MuddyWellyNelly · 18/01/2012 20:44

I can imagine it's very scary and exciting and confusing all at the same time! I can totally understand the caution, I'd be exactly the same, I know. So we'll get quietly excited for you, but only in secret Wink.

Will you be POAS every day between now and the 12 week scan then?!

Also, not sure if you have been lurking, but did you see miffles got her ironic BFP just before she was being referred for IVF? She is now princessmango (the second part changes depending on the size of the bean!) and will be on the grads thread here for when you feel ready.

crowette · 19/01/2012 08:49

Ha, not POAS again until the weekend I think, may get some cheapies from the pound shop tomorrow if I feel up to getting up! Got to register at the docs tomorrow, as I've lived here for a year and still not around to doing that.

Breasts are still tender this morning and that's about it! I need to drink more water - I'm terrible for not drinking enough fluids and right now my pee is very concentrated :(

That's fab news for miffles! I've not been lurking at all, totally avoided anything baby related Blush I'm not feeling up to joining the grads yet, so will wait and see what happens I think.

Well done on keeping this thread going - that's dedication ;)

MuddyWellyNelly · 19/01/2012 19:01

I know, I think she had been trying for close to 2 years. So chuffed for her!

I can imagine the POAS would get a little expensive! I know what you mean about the water drinking too, I'm rubbish at it. I prefer wine!!

What did your daughter decide to do about College/Uni? Was she still thinking of media studies or something, did she not have a plan to become a music journalist or similar? Do they know about this one yet, or will you hold off until you are a little bit more sure?

Sorry, too many questions! I'm about 9DPO here and bored of symptom spotting. I had to keep the thread going - well, me and Josie, as I would miss the viroids too much! Anyway as you can see, frak is returning to the fold so to speak, and you wait, soon everyone will be back to try again. This is the cool place to be, after all Grin

crowette · 20/01/2012 09:00

18 months trying here, two years must be hellish!

My daughter has 2 interviews for uni next month, one at UCA Epsom, which I'm attending with her and the other at Southampton Solent, which her dad is taking her to. She's also got a conditional offer from Huddersfield I think it is. It's music journalism she's wanting to do. She's in contact with some localish bands and they've asked her to do reviews on their songs and gigs etc, so she's getting out there!

We've not told them about the pregnancy yet ... but I've been having spotting Sad a bit yesterday afternoon, so I came straight home and rested, then a bit more at bedtime. Just light pink, watery discharge, but still scary. Temp is still up though, breasts still a bit tender. Aaaarrgh! Trying not to think the worst, but with the short date on the digi I'm wondering if it's a foregone conclusion.

Luckily I'm now on two days off from work, so am under orders from OH to completely rest, and who am I to argue? Wink

MuddyWellyNelly · 20/01/2012 11:22

Oh crow I hope hope hope it's nothing and just little bean snuggling in. I do read of lots of spotting on here that turns out to be fine, but I totally understand your worry. Fingers crossed. Totally agree with your OH about taking it easy, good plan!

Sounds like your daughter has some good options, is she going to be hanging out with rock stars? Grin

Is Josie lurking? Cone and say hi, and bring cakes Wink

crowette · 20/01/2012 12:18

Well I've had nothing today, so far (is that tempting fate?!) feeling a tad crampy right now though, but I've only just got around to having something to eat Blush

I think DD gets some work placement with music magazines (such as NME, Kerrang! etc) and even MTV! Told her if any NIN, Cult, Cure, Chris Cornell gigs come up, then I want tickets too Grin She's a massive Cure fan too, as well as bands more 'her age', a few of the bands she follows locally have been on Scuzz and Kerrang! and some follow her on Twitter - she loves it!

Yes Josie, I quite fancy some cake - where are you?!

MuddyWellyNelly · 20/01/2012 22:45

Oooh I hope it stays away. God it's a rollercoaster isn't it? Nearly 18 months at this myself, and I know that if I do ever get that BFP, that's just the start of the panic, worry, fear, excitement all rolled into one.

It's great that your daughter isn't only into new bands. I'm a long way from being a music expert, but it strikes me that little is new, and I reckon to be a good journalist you'd need to know the roots of new music. Music is an odd thing. I still listen to Radio 1 because I love new music - the stuff Zane Lowe plays, and Pete Tong dance stuff at the weekend. But I hate a lot of the dross that is new music, it's aimed at 15 year olds and frankly rubbish. And I hate the fact that if I don't want to listen to auto-tuned crappy pop, radio stations assume I want to listen to Elaine Paige's Show Tunes Hmm

Anyway, better go to bed. Fingers crossed for no more spotting, and you are getting lots of lovely rest. But eat properly tomorrow

crowette · 21/01/2012 10:24

MY daughter get her musical taste from me Grin had her moshing when she was a toddler! She also loves David Bowie and Iggy Pop. I have to admit to being in a my own musical bubble, and not going out of my way to listen to any new stuff. I do love rock/goth/industrial and trance, but I also love a bit of D&B, classical and cheesy 80s pop! I really can't stand anything 'urban' - I find the videos and lyrics offensive and they rarely use any geniunely new music, always sampling some classic and killing it. I rarely listen to the radio now, just plug my ipod in and get lost in 'my' music.

Step daughter (nearly 16) is nuts about Justin Beiber, she posts loads of pictures of him on her facebook, calls him fit and sexy and thinks he's a fantastic singer Confused the only positive thing about him I can think of is that he can dance very well! She also likes the urban stuff and when we come in to the lounge on Saturday mornings, she's got the music channels on playing it. She's really quite close minded when it comes to things like music ... anything 'old' is 'shit', apparently. But that's maybe down to her condition - she had a stroke in the womb at about 32 weeks, and as a result has scar tissue on her brain which makes reasoning difficult, things are very black and white to her, until she's had time to really think about it - as it takes time to re-route the signals to the appropriate part of the brain. She also has epilepsy as a result. I have to try to remember this when she's being particularly 'difficult'.

Youngest daughter is mad about JLS, which I can tolerate. She also likes David Bowie!

Eldest came in drunk last night - it was so funny! Lots of her friends are still turning 18 and of course having parties, so she's out every weekend at the moment. Last night she came in, denied she was drunk when I jokingly asked ... she then went to the loo, then to the bathroom, but was making sure she was walking in a straight line, so as not to stagger! She couldn't comprehend what OH and I were trying to talk to her about. She then sat on the sofa with her laptop and we left her to it. After an hour or so, OH went to the kitchen to have a last cig (yuk) before bed, and came back to tell me that she'd fallen asleep on the sofa, still with her laptop on and he couldn't wake her up! So I had to get up and wake her up ... it took ages! I took her laptop from her lap (lucky it'd not slid off onto the floor) and shut it down, then tried to wake her by gently shaking her legs, then arms, then stroking her head and calling her name. She woke up looking confused and fell asleep again while I went to get her some water! Funny thing is, she had to then climb up into the top bunk to go to sleep Grin She's ok this morning though, sitting here watching her Mighty Boosh box set.

Still no more discharge here, apart from the normal stuff (many runs to the loo to check after feeling damp down there Blush), breasts getting more and more tender, found it uncomfy to sleep on my tummy last night. Will test again with the other digi test on Monday I think, just to make sure. Oh and you'll be pleased to know that I have eaten already - I had a banana just after I got up, and I'm going to use an old lemonade bottle and fill it with water and keep it in the fridge and aim to finish it by the end of every day :)
