The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Josie you go girl! love the attitude! preseed, sex position apps and a new bold approach to doctors appointments. Wow! Even if OH accompanies you to the doc, with that attitude he would have to find you sexy no matter what ;)

Was starting to relax and enjoy the whole pregnancy thing the other night, went out with OH and friends to a fancy art gallery opening, had dinner beforehand, dessert afterwards, then by midnight had the worst bout of food poisoning ever (I've had some nasty ones in India before, but this trumped the lot). Both ends at same time and the most violent vomiting ever. Kept running out of breath between vomits and passed out a few times whilst vomiting. Not a pretty 12 hours! Doc says bub should be ok, I had no fever and behaved myself sipping fluids the whole time. Apparently bub would've felt like it was in a washing machine all night, but that's about it. Times like this I wish I had my own personal ultrasound machine at home, but need to wait until January. Back to paranoid loo paper checking! I cannot even pinpoint what caused it all, had the same food as everyone else. However, it was an awesome night out :)

In agreement that mulled wine tastes better than egg nog. mmmmmm....Xmas. we have an order in for duck with the rellies already. can't wait, the inlaws cook amazing food. I can see myself a few kilos heavier already.

have fun with the wine, fireplace and OH this week nelly hopefully no houseguests around?

I'll pop over and say hi prinessbean although still in denial some days, just need a rubberband around my wrist like Josie suggested. starting yoga class this week which should help with my brain chemistry and get it to relax.

JosieSmith1 · 23/11/2011 23:24

We have also now been to Ann Summers..... GrinBlushGrin

Chocolate that sounds nasty! Glad bub will be ok though. There has been some sort of strange stomach bug going around here with people feeling really sickly and having a touch of the runs (TMI sorry Grin) but then it goes away, and then sometimes comes back again Confused. I seemed to have it at the weekend, and at the same time seemed to have a touch of the flu, for which I blame DH who had his first ever flu jab, and they said the virus is alive in it so he might get some symptoms, but I think he coughed them out and I got it instead. I missed the coughing and sneezing bit and went straight to the shivers and fevers and weakness and fatigue etc. Fun, not.

Off to see my newly pg friend tomorrow. Wish me luck! I may have to ban baby talk for fear my head might explode. I have also boycotted all of my favourite tv shows as there is someone accidentally pg in every one!

Hello viroids, sorry I have been a bit quiet lately. Started a new role at work which is keeping me rather busy (next Tuesday there are 16 hours of meetings in my 8 hour day Hmm) and other stuff getting in the way too.

Hope you are feeling better chocolate, and that bub survived the washing machine cycle unscathed. I guess getting the BFP is just the start of a lifelong string of worries?

Hoorah for Anne Summers shopping Josie. I like this new you Grin. I suspect your OH will, too.... Sorry you have also been feeling poorly

We haven't managed any fireplace shagging, but plenty of regular shagging going on. Fingers crossed for this month, although I've slightly given up hope of ever seeing that second pink line. I think it's probably time we stepped up the intervention tactics.

Oh by the way Josie I saw this and I immediately thought of you Grin

EggNogNelly · 28/11/2011 19:02

Hulloooo? Anyway there? I was joking about the lergy Wink.

Right in the midst of 2ww here. It's very dull!

Is crow still lurking? And babylann? or just me, being Norman No-mates Grin

JosieSmith1 · 29/11/2011 20:45

I'm here Nelly, a bit late I know. I often look on my phone but then it doesn't let me respond so even if I don't post I'm usually lurking. That book is totally me!! I may have to buy it Grin. Not only is it a baking book, but it has horses on the front, perfect! Hope your new job is going well? I know what you mean about giving up hope of ever seeing that second pink line

Trying to do plenty SWI this month, DH seems to be a little more into it (pardon the pun Blush) so fingers crossed

Hi Josie this thread is slipping down the list quite a bit. Will have to try to keep it active! Glad you liked the book, it's genius isn't it Xmas Grin.

ERTD arrived yesterday. Cycle 19. I am Not Impressed. Where are you in your cycle at the moment?

I do hope all the other Viroids haven't slipped totally away. Maybe we need to think about starting a new thread with a juicy title and see if we can lure in encourage some newbies!

If anyone is still lurking, hope you are all well and maybe even pregnant????

PrincessSugarPlum · 05/12/2011 22:02

Hey nelly. Thought I'd just pop by and say hi. Does seem v quiet...maybe a new thread would pep things up. Afterall it can be daunting to join a long thread. Many of the JSers do seem to have disappeared.

Sorry to hear you've had another disappointing month. Think you're doing so well to keep positive.

Ok...here is your challenge for the week, if you choose to accept it: try eggnog!!

Apparently I'm 10+5, although until we've had the scan, I'm finding it v hard to believe! A week tomorrow. Will be so glad once I know everythings ok.

nickel is ready to burst...she's overdue and thought it was happening last week, but haven't heard the news yet.

Take care and enjoy your Christmas preparations. I love this time of year!

X

EggNogNelly · 06/12/2011 16:36

Hi sugarplum loving the name changes! Thanks for popping in, I'm glad that things seem to be going ok albeit I totally understand why you'd still feel worried. Hope the scan is all good Smile.

I have been lurking on nickle's live birth thread, even though Isbn is in no hurry! Cannot believe how fast the time is going, although I am finding it hard being so left behind. I'm not positive at all to be honest.

Come and say hi when you can and let us know how the scan goes Xmas Smile.

EggNogNelly · 06/12/2011 16:37

Ps eggnog??? Hmm not sure, I'll get back to you on that Xmas Grin

JosieSmith1 · 11/12/2011 11:55

Hi, just a quick visit, DH's dad was in a very bad accident last weekend so we've been there almost constantly until I got ill on friday with a nasty stomach bug and I've been in bed since then, have only just managed to sit up on my own this morning. AF arrived yesterday so there's no getting out of the HSG but my cousin has had it and said it wasn't that bad but her DH wasn't allowed to go in with her Angry. Onwards with cycle 18 Envy

Hope you are all well x

OP posts:
EggNogNelly · 11/12/2011 13:50

Oh Josie hugs for you, how is DH's dad now? On the mend I hope? And I hope you are feeling better too. You are having a rough old time Sad

The test will be fine. Take some painkillers beforehand. OH had his SA on Friday so hoping that means we can get referred sooner rather than later. We can virtually hold each others hands Smile

JosieSmith1 · 12/12/2011 18:21

Hi Nelly, got my test booked for monday. I'm nervous but also slightly excited, I can finally get some answers. Also, I've heard you can be more fertile for 3 months afterwards so if there's no blockage, it might just work in our favour.

I also have a pearl of wisdom to share, seeing as I'm in a good mood at the moment. I have always been a strong believer that you are only dealt in life what you can handle, therefore we must be seen by the universe as the strongest of the bunch because we can handle this rollercoaster. Take my newly pg friend for example. If she was where I am now, she would have had a complete mental breakdown. I have been close, but I have fought on and I refuse to give up, therefore I believe I am going through this so that she doesn't have to.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it Grin

P.S. feel free to visit me at www.joscakerybakery.moonfruit.com (had environmental health out to certify my kitchen as safe (and not condemn it as I feared Grin) so I am officially in business now!!!!!!!!!)

OP posts:
EggNogNelly · 13/12/2011 11:08

Oh Monday is soon!! Good luck!

I very much like your theory too, I agree we must be strong. We will get there Smile

Will check your website out, on phone and busy at work but will look tonight and drool Biscuit

PrincessSugarPlum · 14/12/2011 21:09

Heya folks.

Josie - I love your website! Well done for getting out there and making it happen. Do you deliver all the cakes - like through the post? The photos are making me drool!! Esp the one of lots of different cupcakes all decorated beautifully. I think you need to make that one centre-stage!

Hope you're feeling better. You sound positive about the HSG next week - I'll check back and see how you got on. I really hope it's not as painful as you fear. And yay for increased fertility! I had heard that too. How is your DH's dad now?

Nelly - wasn't Nickels thread amazing! I haven't seen the name she chose in the end....have you? Crazy, although did put me off birth a bit, to be honest.

Have you had the SA results yet? I'm sure you'll feel better once the referal goes through. You know it's out of your hands then. Oh, and did your DH talk about what happened? Mine has always refused to say anything about what went on. He has had to do 3 now. I kinda wonder if they have magazines or anything...

You coping alright up in Scotland with the ghastly weather? We're way better off tucked in the south east corner!

Anyway, in my news, I had my scan yesterday and it seems there really is a baby in there! Despite doubling my clomid does, there is only one! And it has 2 arms and 2 legs and everything!! It was incredible to see it on the screen and only now is it really sinking in. I can't wait for you lovely ladies to get your BFP too. As Josie said, these things we go through make us stronger and we can cope. Remember it was close on 2 years for me, and now....it doesn't seem that long but I'm glad we had the struggle, tbh. It has made it all the more precious now.

Hugs all round. xx

EggNogNelly · 15/12/2011 09:49

Hey princess hooray for the scan, I'm very excited for you. Grin it must have been amazing to see, and thanks for reminding me it took you so long, it does help. We have been JSing every day since Friday ;actually had Monday off) and think ov was possibly yesterday but may be today. Nope OH won't talk about it either (the SA) and actually not sure I want to know what he was doing. Kelly Brook isn't that nice you know Wink

Yes Nickels thread was something else! Haven't seen a name either. Hope she is doing ok as the birth got tough in the end I think. Too late for you to worry about it now I'm afraid! I have been reading childbirth threads in the hope it will put ms off, but just makes me want to join you even more Hmm.

Better get back to work, even though all this shagging means I just want to sleep!!

PrincessSugarPlum · 15/12/2011 14:10

Nelly - all the details are here

x

JosieSmith1 · 16/12/2011 11:44

Yippee Princess, glad everything is going well. I have to admit, some of the cupcake pictures aren't mine, they came with the website, but I'm working on it, means I have to bake lots, and then of course eat lots Grin, I'm actually becoming slightly sickened of cake Shock

I'm really happy for Nickel but it's slightly depressing, can't believe that much time has passed already. I know what you mean Princess, it sounds like a long time but it's been 18 months now and actually it hasn't dragged that much. I'm praying 2012 is the year though, it can't possibly be as bad as the last 2 years! We finally told DHs parents what's been going on but I don't think they really get it, they keep talking about "when you've got kids" and I haven't got the heart yet to explain that there might never be any kids. One day they might get the hint. They're assuming that if we have to have IVF and it doesn't work we'll adopt but it's something we'll have to think long and hard about before making the decision so they don't want to get their hopes up just yet.

I'm going back to work next week. I'm hoping it won't set off my depression again but I'm feeling a lot stronger now, and more able to juggle everything in my life. I'll be back on wednesday so I'll get the HSG and results out of the way first. I'm scared, especially in case people look at me funny when I first go in, or in case I can't cope, but I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go for it. I've applied to extend the counselling so I'm hoping they agree because then I'll have some support for starting back. I've told DH he has to make me bake aswell, I often think I don't have time, but if he keeps on me I'll keep doing it and enjoying my home time. Put my xmas decs up yesterday, went a bit overboard but we don't usually do a lot so it's fab, got a big 7ft tree (don't have a particularly large living room but we have an unused corner that we've shoved it in Grin)

It's started snowing here now, I'm really not impressed!!!! Although I have wrapped my xmas pressies and I've got the xmas songs on, very exciting!!!!

I got a letter from the fertility clinic saying that the blod test they did shows my egg reserves are low so I need to go and see them again. I quote "fertility is still possible but slightly reduced" Confused WTF does that mean! I am now wondering if we will be told to have IVF even if the HSG tomorrow shows my tubes are fine, or will I be told my eggs are knackered and we will need to use donor eggs? I'm going to have a long wait till Jan 31st to get the questions answered

EggNogNelly · 18/12/2011 21:09

Hi viroids, our internet is a bit hit or miss just now hence haven't posted much. I read the birth story just before you posted it I think princess, and glad to hear that nickel is up and about again. So pleased again about your scan, hope you are keeping ok, not feeling too sick etc. It must still be so surreal for you, but in a very good way Grin.

Josie easier said than done but try not to panic. Firstly the very good thing is you have found these things out early. You are still very young in fertility terms which can only be a good thing. And at the end of the day you only need one egg to meet one sperm, so keep positive thoughts about the HSG, and try to think of the fertility appointment as a step forwards towards your baby! Hope your DH's Dad is doing ok now? Hope the return to work goes ok too. In the meantime, keep baking and sending them to me Grin

3DPO so in that slightly nice stage of too early to symptom spot. We did plenty of shagging which was really quite enjoyable! A bit tiring too though Wink

PrincessSugarPlum · 18/12/2011 21:18

Josie - just popping in to wish you the best for tomorrow. I know you'll be super brave and calm. Keep your chin up and know, like Nelly said, it is one step closer to your baby. Do you know if your DH can stay with you?

I wouldn't dwell on what the results may or may not mean. If you have low egg reserves it doesn't mean that you definitely have to use donor eggs. Take all these things with a pinch of salt. It is part of a picture the hospital are building up to figure out the best way for you to get your baby. It may be that is the reason why things haven't worked so far. Which is kind of reassuring! I know what it's like, waiting for results and appointments. But at this stage, concentrate on tomorrow, then forget it all. Totally. Enjoy Christmas and know that next year is a new year. Other people are in charge of the fertility side of things and thinking and stressing about it will do nothing. So your challenge (I notice Nelly hasn't got back to us on her eggnog challenge.....) your challenge is to Just Shag!! When you want and just for fun!

Glad things are well with you Nelly. I wrapped virtually all my Christmas presents tonight. All in festive red and gold. They look so pretty sitting under the tree, I'm not sure I'm going to give them away!! [fgrin}

x

EggNogNelly · 18/12/2011 22:29

Haha princess at you keeping all the presents! No I haven't tried the eggnog because I've been too busy going out on the Lash at various Christmas parties Xmas Wink. Will check out the "recipe" and see if I can do so this week!

Good advice to Josie too :) Hope the HSG is ok and you come away feeling calmer. Lots of luck xx

EggNogNelly · 18/12/2011 22:35

PS Josie love the website - though I'm hoping the traybakes aren't really £200 Xmas Wink

JosieSmith1 · 19/12/2011 10:05

Ha ha Nelly no I haven't worked out the pricing totally yet Grin Might do that today while DH is out xmas shopping (he hasn't done anything yet!)

Princess I like that challenge too Grin. I love when the presents are under the tree, but it bugs me when other people give you their presents to you, but their paper doesn't match yours so they look all mismatched under the tree Grin

HSG was absolutely fine, a bit crampy but nothing I couldn't handle. Both tubes are open, yippeeee!!!! I have a tilted uterus (it was upside down today!) but that doesn't have any impact on fertility, so now all I need to do is sort my dodgy ovaries. And now we can start JSing again (had to abstain from day 1 to today) GrinGrinGrin
