Getting us started on a new thread; this one is gonna be a lucky one!

OP posts:
MummyAbroad · 13/05/2011 13:45

good news tigger
hope work/your meeting went well mouse

I spoke way too soon about DS and nursery - he hates it now! Sad I guess we will hang in there for a week or so and see if he gets used to it, he is off with the obligatory first-week cold, so at least he is having a bit of a break.

I got dopplered yesterday, but the male substitute 20 year old doctor couldnt find the heartbeat. Amazingly, I am not panicking about it. Mainly because I am pretty sure I can feel movement, I have been feeling something for a few days, but yesterday it felt really obviously like the baby moved away from the doppler right after he put it on.
I did feel a bit twang of Envy at all the ladies who have bought dopplers on this thread and in the freakout room - it would be nice to have a play at home seeing as the doc only tried for about 2 mins - but now that this pregnancy is starting to feel (and look!) much more real, I think I'd better save the pennies for the birth/baby stuffShockSmile

I'm still reading all your news, even though I am bit behind with the catch up! Much love Wine/Brew/Biscuit for all
xxxx

YouremindmeoftheBFP · 13/05/2011 15:45

Hello all.

tigger excellent news about the scan.

izz I have made the appointment for the GP, going next Thursday when I will be 7 weeks, and hopefully going from there. I seem to have caught DS's cold, so feel very heady and sinusy.

melies I don't know if the GP will be sympathetic, she has just come back off maternity leave though, I think, so hopefully that would work in my favour. She is the GP I announced to last year I was pregnant though, so it seems a bit like a bad omen. I must stop thinking in this irrational, superstitious way though. Hope you're having a lovely time camping.

MA with ds it might just be the realisation that it's a permanent thing that means he doesn't want to go. My ds has never wanted to be at nursery, even though he has gone from 6 months, he always would prefer to be at home with us. Not possible though. That's annoying with the doppler, but lovely that you can feel movement! How exciting!

mouse Any news?

freezing Tuscany sounds wonderful! How lovely.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 13/05/2011 16:49

Fab news tigger Grin

mummya I was going to say the same as yrmotb - at first they like it because it's all new, then the novelty factor wears off and they realise they actually have to go every day and bec

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 13/05/2011 16:53

Boll*cks - hit post accidentally!!

...become all unsettled again. Just give him time to get used to it. Great news re feeling movement though, that's so cool!

yrmotb well done on making first appt, does the gp then refer you to mws in your area? We go straight to mws here so I haven't seen the gp at all (although they might have been more sympathetic!)

freezing v Envy of lovely Tuscany plans!

battery how's the injecting going?

Freezingmyarseoff · 13/05/2011 20:36

Brilliant news Tigger that's great, and you've graduated Grin look at you and MummyA!!

YRMOTBFP great for getting your GP appt. If you don't mind I'll copy you, and call for an appt on Monday!

Izzy round here we normally go straight to the MWs too (but since I would like an early scan I have to arrange that through the GP). I've realised that however much I don't want to go to the MW booking in I shouldn't leave it too late or I might miss the window for an NT scan as it's pretty busy and they seem to be quite slow in organising scans. It'll probably take me a month to get the MW appt

Anyone seen BBB and Jolls recently? How are you both doing my lovely ladies?

I'm hoping LadyBee has arrived safely. Takeaway for first night's dinner - fush & chups Smile

battery guessing we won't be hearing from you for a while if DP is over Wink

Hope all's well with you mouse

Thanks for the Tuscany/Rome tips Mellies

Waves to everyone else xx

mousebaconmakestinysandwiches · 13/05/2011 21:32

Hi ladies, I'm ok thanks. Return to work has gone ok so far. Scary boss keeps 'popping in' to check on me but other than that it's gone fine. It's really nice to not have to go back until Wednesday now though! Just got to get through this marking and I can relax again!

I'd love to go to Tuscany! Shall we arrange a MN road trip?!

Sorry DS isn't enjoying nursery anymore mummy hopefully he'll settle down again soon. Pleased to see you moving to the grads Smile

Waves to all. Grin

Ladybee · 14/05/2011 10:31

Hi ladies, just a very quick one as I'm in transit at Changi airport, and fading fast - going to go get something to eat and go to my cell transit hotel room for a sleep before the last leg of the flight home. The last week was completely manic but it all got done and I'm feeling quite chuffed that I did it myself!

digitalgirl · 14/05/2011 22:58

Well done bee

And well done mouse

Am watching Eurovision in our holiday cottage on my own. DH has gone back to London tonight for a work thing tomorrow but will be back in the evening. DS is tucked up in bed. We've got another week here which is wonderful.
Still spotting after AF and egg not due for another 2 weeks but of course we'll be having plenty of just-in-case sex. And so it continues. This August will be 2 years of ttc.

randomimposter · 15/05/2011 08:05

Hi Digi - glad you are having a nice break. Something you said just resonated with me. DS will be 3 in ten days time, that will be 2 years of TTC for us then too.

Fucking depressing.

mousebaconmakestinysandwiches · 15/05/2011 19:46

Hello ladies digi and jolls I'll be with you in the 2 year club in July when DS turns 4. Utterly depressing.

Had to pop in as I have news! Today I have had 2, yes 2, positive OPKs!! Now, I know that that doesn't definitely mean there'll be an egg but maybe, just maybe there will and then there'll be an actual PERIOD. OMG.

How silly! I am genuinely excited Grin

MummyAbroad · 15/05/2011 20:32
batteryhen · 15/05/2011 21:25

mouse how very exciting!! You will soon be on the ttc train again!!

digi and jolls hugs to you both, lets keep our fingers crossed that a sticky bfp is right around the corner for you both xx

mummyA Hello lady, are you very busy in your new job? Feel like we haven't heard from you in ages - I am taking that as a good sign Grin

I have had a lovely weekend, dp is over from germany on a course so he is here for the next 3 weekends Grin Grin and whilst i laid on the sofa feeling sleepy and pukey he did all the ironing for the week (lucky batteryhen emoticon)

Not looking forward to work this week, but need to pay the bills xx big wave to everyone else xxxx

Velvetcu · 15/05/2011 21:52

Yippee mouse v exciting!

Digi and jolls sorry you are feeling down

Sounds wonderful battery make sure you take full advantage!!

Hellooo to everyone

randomimposter · 16/05/2011 07:41

Lovely to see you on the BFPs wiggle, all FX for stickiness.

mouse, woohoo! work ok and 2+veOPK. That's good news for sure. (Ignoring other bit about 2yrs in July :().

Feeling oh so weary about gearing up for another assault on BFP mountain. CD7 here, better get to it in a day or 2.

Waves to all. Hope Monday treats you well.

Freezingmyarseoff · 16/05/2011 14:41

Just popping in to say hello to everyone. However, I'm very preoccupied by the news on freak out room thread so sorry not so much to say here today. Sad

Sorry jolls and digi that you both feeling down.

Mouse yay for body starting to get back on track. That is good.

Gentle waves to everyone else

xx

mousebaconmakestinysandwiches · 16/05/2011 16:13

Thanks for the woops ladies. Had another +ive this afternoon so am hoping for a temp rise tomorrow or wed.

I too am preoccupied with the news over on the freak out thread. I wish there was something I could do Sad

xx

randomimposter · 16/05/2011 16:19

I know. I was in tears reading it earlier.

I don't know Dachs that well but we've chatted a bit, partly about her buggy choice which IIRC is on hold at JLP :(

Am praying like everyone that the miracle happens.

tiggersreturn · 16/05/2011 16:38

Mouse - congratulations on your news!

Jolls- hope you find strength to continue.

I've also been rather preoccupied with Dachs' news. She's my fellow twin mummy and only a week behind me.

mousebaconmakestinysandwiches · 16/05/2011 16:50

Your right jolls she talked about whether or not to order it but was brave enough to go for it. It's just so heartbreaking. I'm hoping for a miracle. I wish they'd stitch her. I know there's a risk of infection but surely better to treat that and stitch rather than wait and see?

It's just so awful Sad

KnitterNotTwitter · 16/05/2011 17:08

Hi ladies

I'm still doing ok... yesterday was one month from my termination and it passed fairly uneventfully which was good. DH was away so I suspect it was just me that remembered... :-(

Still no sign of my AF... felt a bit imminent on Friday but nothing yet.... Also still no sign of my Repeat Misscarriage Clinic referral... will chase soon as I want to get organised with all the tests and everything.... I want the feeling that we're making some sort of progress towards our next baby...

Heading over to the Freak Out room now ... keeping my fingers REALLY crossed for Dachs

mousebaconmakestinysandwiches · 16/05/2011 17:13

*you're

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/05/2011 17:54

Hello all

I think everyone's understandably preoccupied with the Freakout room - such a scary and sad news; I hope dachs knows we're all thinking of her and praying that she gets that much-deserved miracle Sad

jolls and digi sorry you're feeling low - it is so disheartening to watch the time go by. I'm hoping you both get your sticky bfps soon x

yrmotb how are you doing?

mummya I hope ds is settling in and finding nursery a bit easier. How's the work going? Are you managing to fit everything in?

freezing and wiggle I hope you're ok - any symptoms yet?

knitter good to see you, Sad re month since the termination. I hope you're ok. Hopefully the referral won't take too long to come through; I know what you mean about needing to feel like you're doing something and I think you're right to chase it.

mouse I'm glad the return to work went ok and your boss is behaving. Also yay! for signs of cycle normality and hopefully imminent af - are you ttc this cycle or having a break until af shows up?

NT scan this morning here which went well so we're over the next, albeit not the last, hurdle. I've gone back 2 days to 12+0, but that ties in exactly with when I think I ov'd so am ok with that. We have told dcs which I'm not entirely sure was a good idea - it makes it all seem more real. However realistically if it went wrong now they would know something was wrong and would need some sort of explanation. Hopefully it won't happen like that this time though!

Anyway better go - didn't feel it was entirely appropriate to post happy scan news on the other thread right now but hope you lot don't mind me sharing Smile

CollieandPup · 16/05/2011 18:52

Just popping in to see if izzy had any scan news. So glad it went well and yay for telling dc, scary as it is its def the right thing. And making it real is a good thing Smile

Knitter nice to hear from you i was only thinking about you last week and wondering how you were doing. Very Sad that it was a month yesterday since your termination, and even sadder as your dh was away. I am glad you seem to be doing 'ok' and i hope AF comes soon. I just wanted to add that i am so sorry about what you had to go through, but that i really do admire the strength and dignity you had throughout it, you are an inspriation - i know that might sounds cheesy but i mean it.

mouse i lurk occassionally and have been reading about your horrid boss. What an utter cow. I am sorry sorry you have all that stress. Have you decided what you'll do about your extra managerial responsibilities? If you want to keep them, you should fight her to the end, you have the law on your side. Very [angry} for you.

KnitterNotTwitter · 16/05/2011 19:42

Izzy glad your NT scan went well - and I hope your other DC were super-excited for you... definitely the right time to tell them... the odds of anything going wrong from here on in are so slight...

Still got my fingers crossed for dachs...
