Hiya Francesca, welcome. Always nice to have new folks on the thread. Congrats on your BFP.

I've just been out with friends today and I think they bought the whole giving up booze for lent thing. DH was really keen to tell everyone but luckily he saw sense after a stern look from me. It is tempting because we are overwhelmingly happy to have at last managed to conceive again.

Velvetcu · 12/03/2011 21:11

I'm the complete oppostie Irene I'm not in the slightest bit tempted to tell anyone.

I feel like if I start to admit it's really happening, it's all going to go wrong. That's why I don't want to go for the scan. I also got a booking in date through the post this morning. It's getting proper scary now especially after all the bad news we've had here recently :(

I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since my bfp tho. I have been very tempted for POAS again but have so far refrained.

On another note, I have a question for ya and its not goo related (woohoo!). I have really bad trapped wind and it's soooo painful it's keeping me awake. What can I do about it? I wondered whether gripe water works on adults or is there something else like that I can try?

KnitterNotTwitter · 12/03/2011 21:31

Velvet re trapped wind. I find going swimming and having a good wriggle around in the water helps.... Or forcing it out by eating lots of plums/prunes. Or having a hot curry.... Any help?

Irene I've told more people than I planned to but less than I did with the MMC... The MMC was directly following on from an ectopic pregnancy and so many people were worrying about me after that and I wanted to give them the good news. Also it was 12+4 that my MMC revealed itself and at 12 weeks I'd started telling a few more people... Had an embarrassing moment recently when I bumped into someone I hadn't seen since the weekend before the MMC and she didn't know I'd lost the pregnancy and started chatting about 'where is the baby' etc....

nickstermum · 12/03/2011 22:12

Velvet getting on all fours often works for me! Also doing light circular movements around the tummy from your right up under the ribs and down the other side also forces them out! Avoiding uterus of course!

I am with velvet in being inclined to tell no one, still at 19 weeks tomorrow being cagey!

Ar thinking of you buddy xx Digi hope you are recovering well and bee you too xxx

Francesca87 · 12/03/2011 22:38

Thank you all

knitternottwitter yes please, on joining the list. LMP 16/2/11 - (25 day cycles)

Has anyone had an early scan or tests? Obviously not for me yet but just need some reassurance....

cep · 12/03/2011 22:40

aandr am really sorry to hear your news. i hope you're ok.

Quick question, should i worry about pink cm? i went to loo earlier and got slight pink when wiped, checked cm and was a bit bloody, went to loo a bit later and got a glob of pink cm, nothing since. is very similar to the pg i lost, because of that i really don't want a scan until i've passed the previous h/b stopped date. is pink cm common when pg? i had none of this with ds.

Daisybell1 · 13/03/2011 07:56

Morning all

Just popped on to see how you all are - AandR you are in my thoughts, really hope you're ok.

To all newcomers, welcome, this is a really lovely place to sit on a bean bag and rock gently.

Thanks to all for the advice about my headaches, I had a sight test yesterday and yes, my prescription has changed. My only decision now is whether to change my glasses now, or hang on for a few months in case it gets worse... Hmm

Proper mentalling has started here - lambing has started early! Mothering instinct has kicked in with the first few preemie ones who I just want to bring into the kitchen and bottle feed but of course am not allowed anywhere near. My OH has been a rock of calm over the last few months, but has now flipped over to paranoia himself. Its going to be a Confused few weeks....

I'll be back later with roast dinner for all - roast pork, apple sauce and crackling Grin

Ninunina · 13/03/2011 08:19

Morning ladies, do you mind if I join? I just got a bfp on Wednesday and was holding out to see if AF arrived before admitting to myself that it could be real. I'm on my WTF cycle, so a bit shocked that it happened so quickly.

Have any of you ladies conceived on your wtf cycle? hils I know you're in the same boat as me. GP is sending me to EPU for a dating scan next week. Isn't it too early? I think I'm 4 wks today. He wants me to go sooner rather than later since Kingston hospital gets booked up quickly, so need to book my place.

A&R I'm so sorry to hear about your bleeding. I hope your scan on Monday goes ok.

mattsmama · 13/03/2011 08:55

hello everyone pinkfondantfancy pointed me in your direction.

I have just got the BFP after to previous MMC's a 12 weeks and 2 chemical pregnancies at the end of last year. I am on Mr Shehata's plan for killer cells and can't believe got the BFP on first month of his plan.

I am MEGA nervous - trying so hard to keep chilled but it's hard!! Will be shaking like a leaf when it comes to that first scan. Hope everyone else is managing to stay as calm as possble Grin

Velvetcu · 13/03/2011 09:43

hi Ninunina and mattsmama congrats on your bfps and welcome to the nut house :)

Daisy that roast sounds great! I don't think I would be able to stay away from the little lambs.

cep I've had all sorts of colours of cm, had loads of pink last week. I have no idea if it's ok - I have my first scan on Friday so we will find out then.

PinkFondantFancy · 13/03/2011 12:44

Hello everyone!

Welcome to ninunina, mattsmama and francesca, really nice to see new people in here! Congratulations on the BFPs and welcome to a whole new level of mentalling..... Grin

daisy the roast dinner sounds LUSH! Awww the lambs sound sooooo sweet!

cep I had a major wobble last week when I had pink when I wiped but the midwife reckons that 50% of women have it and its not a problem.

francesca quite a few of us have had early scans, either because of scares with bleeds or because it's v. v. hard to keep the faith that everything's going ok all the way to 12 weeks without some evidence!

velvet nix's suggestion sounds like what I'd try - maybe along with a warm bath? (((hugs))) about the scan - the first one is terrifying but a huge milestone.

hils I think it just depends on where you live - my EPU will only talk to you via a GP but I know other ladies here have direct contact with their EPU

TTT what day are you scanning this week?

dachs hope the due date went ok. Fab news on the scan! Er, no idea about when it gets easier! My friend who's just gone into the 3rd trimester having had a MMC last year reckons she chilled out a lot once she could feel kicking. The guy at work who's wife's just had a baby following a traumatic few years of IVF and MCs reckons the full on mentalling starts when the baby is actually born...... Confused Oh dear......

aandr hope you're ok. Is it ok if I stay hopeful for you? I had a natural MC at 8 weeks and was in agony - if you've not got any pain there's still a chance. Oh I so hope so.....

Right I'm off for a nap and then I'd better do some work... Boo!

Thickly buttered hot cross buns on the side for all Grin

Hils74 · 13/03/2011 13:28

welcome ninu, so glad we didn't wait :) hopefully gp will refer me straight away to see what's going on in there, will be 6 weeks on weds

cep fx it's nothing to worry about

hi to bewbies mattsmama and francesca

tmi alert, I'm dealing with my trapped wind by letting it all out, so not trapped!

tonythetyger · 13/03/2011 15:30

Tuesday. My dh can't come with because of childcare issues so my mother is accompanying.

PinkFondantFancy · 13/03/2011 16:01

Good work katherine-it's good to see the days tick by!

TTT that's a shame, are you ok with your mum going? It's good to have someone's hand to squeeze and I bet she's excited??

haffertee · 13/03/2011 16:09

Welcome all you new people, tis good to have some other people who haven't yet made the 5 week mark. Am 4+6 today and ok, this was the point I had my miscarriage last time so if I can get past today will breath a tiny bit easier.
ninu yes I got pregnant straight after my mc, is very nerve wrecking - was so surprised POAS was positive! Asked doctor whether I use my mc date as my last period date and he said 'I suppose so - for now'!

tonythetyger · 13/03/2011 16:18

I'm fine so long as I have someone with me.

IreneHeron · 13/03/2011 18:56

Newbies welcome and congrats on your BFPs.

Cep pink is very common, not necessarily anything to worry about as long as it doesn't get any worse.

I'm freaking here because I'm not feeling as sick today. Hope it isn't a bad sign.

We've had a really busy weekend and now poor ds has gone down with a temperature and a hacking cough so no nursery for him tomorrow and no sleep for us tonight I imagine. Hope I don't get it, I always worry about bugs when I'm pregnant.

owlbooty · 13/03/2011 19:16

Velvet get thee to the Gaviscon (dual action peppermint flavour) - it is a bloody miracle cure for all gut-related horrors. Tastes like absolute shite though.

Irene now you've written that, I bet you start tomorrow barfing your guts up :)

I have got the '20 week' scan tomorrow afternoon - I'm stressing about it but not nearly as badly as I did about the 12 week one. I think this may be progress :)

A&R hope you're okay x

AandRMum · 13/03/2011 19:43

Thanks all for your thoughts. Pink I have little bouts of improbable hope as I have had no cramps and no pain but period levels of blood loss and one large clot (random thoughts of twins!). I just can't see how the bean could stick with that much loss. Oh well tomorrow should confirm things.

Welcome newbies, don't stress about pink cm - my GP also said it is extremely common and normally doesn't mean anything.

Velvetcu · 13/03/2011 20:05

AandR I still have my fx for you, I hope all goes well tomorrow

oooohh owl 20 weeks scan :) I'm glad to hear you are stressing less.

Irene I freaked a couple of days ago coz my boobs stopped hurting but they are back now so I think it's just up and down. I'm also worried coz I only feel sick when I'm hungry so don't technically have morning sickness at all. On the telly they always start chucking their guts up the second they get diffed!

Boo to Monday morning!

nickstermum · 13/03/2011 20:13

Eek owls i forgot...dont stress, all will be wonderful and perfect! Ooh are you going to findout? Still undecided here. Mine is a week tomorrow

Fuck, pink... 19 weeks just clicked! Yikes Grin

Waves to newbie influx, congrats on bfps and welcome to post MC mentalling Grin

AR all is not yet lost....everything crossed for tomorrow. Remember orange.. could be similar to her my love xx Do hope so xx

To all other scanners... good luck (velvet?)

nickstermum · 13/03/2011 20:14
